In 2005, Chinese directors casted Korean actors in their movies one after another – Kim Hee Sun in “The Myth”. Ji Jin Hee in “Perhaps Love”, Jang Dong Gun in “The Promise” ……. Of course, with their very high pays, the Korean actors also brought in box office guarantee in South East Asia. JJH toured South East Asia to promote “Perhaps Love” and JDG alone was able to shine when promoting “The Promise” in Singapore.

Korean actors’ professional attitude convinced movie people

While box-office power is undoubtedly the main reason for casting actors by the commercial films, we deduced from the various reports that Korean actors are worth their value, their professionalism have left deep impression on the movie people in China.

Chen Hong while talking about “The Promise” talked about JDG. She said every morning when JDG got up, he would greet everyone with his two hand closed like a Buddhist, he did that to everyone. He would open the windows in his room every morning and even helped the staff and cleaners to do the chores.
