Upcoming sci-fi action series “Black Knight” has teased viewers with new stills!

Based on a webtoon, “Black Knight” takes place in 2071 when pollution has become so severe that people can’t survive without respirators. The newly released stills capture the unique environment and dynamic story of “Black Knight.” After a comet collided on Earth, desertification sped up, leaving only a small number of humans to survive. However, social stratification has become more solidified than ever. While citizens of the general district live by purchasing oxygen and daily necessities, refugees who do not have enough resources try to survive by wandering in the labor market or becoming hunters who steal delivery goods.

Netflix releases main trailer for Kim Woo-bin’s ‘Black Knight’ series

Netflix has released the main trailer for the Korean series “Black Knight” starring actor Kim Woo-bin.

Set in 2071, “Black Knight”  tells the story of refugee Sa-wol, and the legendary deliveryman 5-8, as he takes on the all-powerful Cheonmyeong Group in a dystopian version of Korea. The country is ravaged by extreme air pollution, rendering it uninhabitable without an oxygen mask.

"Black Knight" (Netflix Korea)

The main trailer shows a scene into a post-apocalyptic universe where the Korean peninsula has become a desert wasteland and only one percent of the population clings to life. The devastated look of Seoul seems outright surreal.

In “Black Knight,” Kim Woo-bin is deliveryman 5-8 who works as a lifeline to mankind, delivering oxygen and other necessities in the daytime.

At night, he transforms into a Black Knight with a plot to upend the order created by Cheonmyeong Group, the de facto ruler of the devastated world.

Ryu Seok (Song Seung-heon), the ruthless heir to Cheonmyeong Group, clashes with 5-8 as he defends his vision of a world with no place for the refugees.

Seol-ah (Esom), a major at the Defense Intelligence Command, warns 5-8 that chaos may spiral out of hand, while Sa-wol, a refugee who aspires of becoming a Black Knight, boldly climbs onto 5-8's truck, eager to join the fight.

Director Cho Ui-seok aimed to create “more down-to-earth and lively” scenes compared to the original webtoon.

“Black Knight” will premiere exclusively on Netflix on May 12.

*** Netflix "Black Knight" readies for premiere on May 12. I hope this will do well rating-wise. None of the cable dramas that stream on Netflix has been that big so far but, next up is this drama. I love their character posters and I'm excited to see Kim Woo Bin and Song Seung Hun together on the small screen.    :rubchin:

*** Netflix has been big on K-drama content and this time the platform has announced the highly anticipated release of a  series titled "Black Knight." I hope the drama is expected to be a huge hit. I expect a lot of action, drama, and cinematic brilliance all set in a post-apocalypse time stretch with this drama.  "Black Knight" is buzzing all over the internet. If you like dystopian plots, this is for you. However, apart from the extreme atmospheric condition, the show also focuses on another interesting aspect of society where survival depends on class. In the series, these divides are implemented with the help of QR codes. Watch the show to witness a grim future where scarce resources broaden the gap between the rich and the not-so-rich. Amidst all the chaos, watching Kim Woo Bin and Song Seung Hun's characters will be a treat to your eyes. This is all set to release on May 12, 2023. The upcoming Korean show will have 6 episodes with a duration of around 60-70 minutes. This thriller drama will definitely be one of a kind. The unsettling setup will manage to give you goosebumps and grip your attention while adding an unnerving sense of urgency to survive along with a new perspective to life set in the future. Can't wait!
