Chingus, I suddenly had an epiphany that I had to share with you all before i forget.

I was thinking about why JSM (KPJ and JBCs dad) decided to go through with the marriage and I don’t think it was because he was spineless or after money. We know cheong a was in trouble and JMRs father was going to save company if JSM got married to JMR. So it was up to JSM to save the most important thing to his grandpa-his company. I think JSM went through with arranged marriage because of that.

I have been wondering this exact question as I process yesterday’s episodes. Thank you for being a mind reader :)) one other possibility is...

    5) JBC shoots himself (after finding out about his mom killing oh aka his pops and thinking there’s no hope cause his gpa tried to kill him and he thinks KPJ doesn’t care about him and NMH doesn’t want anymore relations with him) and mom finds him and kills herself (since there two bullets).

I agree with your thoughts....JSM probably went through with the marriage to save Cheong A.  Knowing that family, who knows what leverage was held over him by Gpa.  From JBC's recollection of JSM, was that he was a nature lover and a professor of (bark and trees?  not sure what the translation I saw...) who gave it up to protect the family assets.  It's interesting that JCY, JCB and KPJ all had "gentle" interests such as building blocks/toys, piano and ecological pursuits in that order.  It's the adults that warped them.

Yes, good point... need to include #5 as an option.  So many interesting ways to end this drama.  I was thinking earlier that KPJ could have chosen a different approach for his revenge.  He could have married NMH and made her dad president and held the cards at the start.  Or, started or took over a different company - a main competitor to Cheong A and destroyed the Jang's by destroying or taking over the company in a hostile takeover and built Kang towers in the lot instead of Cheong A tower...It all came to his personal beef with JMR.  Why he decided that JBC had to be Chairman and JMR having her dream then snatching it away would offer the best alternative for justice is beyond me.  Perhaps the most bitter pill to swallow would have been her out sooner, with never having had a chance to attain her goal, JBC discredited etc.   Well, that's another show....

I expect the congressman will reveal all and drag KPJ into it, but he will expect that anyhow to fix everything that has happened.,  I think time jump will happen to his release and congressman will also welcome him as well due the fact he protected him and his daughter from being killed.

I agree, the congressman and his family owe KPJ a huge debt as well, without KPJ - NMH would still be in the dark regarding her marriage and her father would be dead and discredited.

  2. So, loaded shotgun under driver Oh's bed....who gets shot and who does the shooting?  The only one that knows the shotgun is there is JBC.  Significant because it's Oh's bed....

    1) JBC shoots and kills JMR his mom.

    2) JBC shoots and kills Grandpa

    3) JBC shoots and kills KPJ

    4) JBC accidentally shoots NMH while trying to shoot and kill KPJ...if so, does NMH die an ultimate sacrifice of innocence.  She has saved KPJ before....

Someone mentioned that they were sad for JBC (sorry can't remember who to give credit for this thought..) because he has real feelings for KPH.  If he had real feelings for him, he wouldnt have taken NMH away from him when he discovered in first episodes how much KPJ liked her.  At that point, he wasn't really in love with NMH.  He just wanted to win over his Grandpa and JYC and please his mother.  He hasn't ever really appreciated all that KPJ did for him.  He was a weak "taker" from the very beginning until the end.

This is a catch 22 situation. She has to help her father, but that means that the man she loves will be exposed. In being exposed, he could also lose what he has fought for for 20 years, and end up in jail like the rest of them Jangs.

NMH is extremely pragmatic and rational and is making decisions despite her emotions. I guess blood is thicker than water at this point, because she needs to save her father more than she needs KPJ. She's calculated the opportunity cost and can bear not being with KPJ, but cannot bear the injustice against herself and her father.

In episode 21, NMH tells KPJ that he gave her father slush funds from the charity..... This is enough of a crime. The entire presidential campaign is enough criminality on everyone's part, including KPJ. Then she says that when she continues her investigations, she will probably find him at the end of it. KPJ tells her to do what she needs to do.

There is no technically no completely happy ending to this drama. The chips must fall.

Hi Chingu, I was thinking through your thoughts on NMH and her working to "save" her father.  By telling the truth, her father is guilty.  He accepted the money and worked in collusion with Cheong A and the Jangs to win a presidential election and then to grant favors to that family.  He is not innocent. Never mind how he "sold" his daughter....and he does feel very sorry for that.  Never the less he did't deserve to end up hanging from the ceiling but he does deserve to go to jail for his part in the scheme.  He, like KPJ, and the Jang family need to pay for their decisions.  I think the only person without guilt in all of this is NMH

  4. Thoughts on Ep 21 and 22.  Title:  Merit vs. Blood

    1) I thought JMR's response to finding out that KPJ is JEC was a bit anti-climactic at least for KPJ.  Her laughter seemed to throw him off a bit.  She's a tough old bird for sure, but  according to driver OH, and JBC...finding out the truth about KPJ should have put JMR into cardiac arrest.  I wonder when it will dawn on KPJ that revenge "served cold" may not be all that it's cracked up to be...and maybe it all wasn't worth the blood, sweat and tears of 20 years of his life.  That maybe his mother, father and brother would have wanted him to have a happy and fulfilling life maybe as a bark and tree environmentalist?

    2) I thought that the KPJ / JEC reveal throughout Ep 21 was a bit funny..."what?! you knew that KPJ was EUC?!"  "How did you know that KPJ was EUC?!"  Everyone seemed to already know the "big birth secret"  It just struck me as comical relief during an intense pressure filled episode.

    3) Scene in Ep 21 when all parties where gathered in Chairman's office to discuss the process of removing JBC from Chairmanship and instating a new Chairman.  When KPJ and Woo share the depth of KPJ's stock shares the last scene shows JYC looking at him with real fear on his face.  All are starting to realize that they have sadly underestimated KPJ.  They have raised a tiger that can "eat them up"  Not one of them is a match for him.  It was easy when they thought he was safely leashed and directed at their enemies/service.  However, KPJ was never leashed...."Tiger's/Big Cats hunt/stalk and crouch the lowest before they pounce.

    4) Merit vs. Blood.  It's true what KPJ said to Grandpa.  He is the strongest, most qualified candidate to lead Cheong A.  The reason that the Chairman vote was skewed not in his favor was through the heavy ownership of the Jang family voting as a block against him.  Which means that other shareholders where voting in favor (as well as KPJ's votes) for the most qualified candidate.  The company was mostly successful due to KPJ's involvement behind the scenes.  How more successful would Cheong A have been with him in the helm in the first place?  There is a part in KPJ that wants Grandpa to acknowledge his abilities over his blood.

     5) I think KPJ snuck Assemblyman G out of the house before Grandpa made his move.  Assemblyman is another card for KPJ to play.  NHM didnt seem to be in on the move so that's one reason I think KPJ is behind it.

    6)  Everything Grandpa has done has been for Cheong A. Nothing matters. Not his sons or grandsons.  Even his own blood have suffered at the altar of his monument to himself.  Cheong A.  It would be poetic justice if KPJ as Chairman gave it away to all of the illegitimate Jang children...

  5. Maybe this has been discussed earlier in the thread and if so, my apologies for bringing it up again...but views and opinions might be a bit different as we are now in the last leg of the drama.

When as a teen, KPJ tries to stab JMR in her sleep and she wakes up-takes the knife and offers him "The Deal...stay by JBC side and help him...get an education...etc."

    1) What made JMR think that she could change his mind?  What made her think that she could overcome his drive for revenge/justice (at this time we know that she thinks this is still only about JBC stabbing the guy and the blame getting shifted to him and not about his mother and brother)

    2) She wanted to raise a pit bull but what made her think that she could raise him as her dog?  Was she clueless about hate? Was she so sure about her abilities to "read people and situations"?  "Did she understand and want to help him?"

Most people's instincts would have been to ship KPJ away..get rid of him one way or another.  That would have been normal behavior .... Yet she kept him.  Begs the question if that is where her loyalty program started and something along those lines happened with Driver Oh in the past.

@kismet22 I belong to those who don't think that KPJ has already slept with JMR.

To conclude, KPJ had decided long ago to use sex appeal and sex as a weapon. It was as if he was tempting her to have sex with him but for that, he needed first to have her dream come true. So the meeting of JMR and KPJ in the last episode could be seen as a parallel to the night, where he tried to kill her with the knife. Whereas in the earlier episode, she had anticipated KPJ's reaction, this time the roles have been switched. He had anticipated her because he had trained her (champagne = good news aso). In other words, the knife has been replaced by the phallus. In the end, she thought, they would move to the next level, only to discover that the groom is in fact leaving her behind. There is no sex hence no wedding... it is as if he had ditched her at the altar.

No, he never said that. I only interpret it that way. Yes, NMH mentioned revenge but if this had been just revenge, then why hasn't he killed anyone? JMR, Oh, JKH and JBC are responsible for so many deaths (his brother, his adoptive father, his biological father, ...).

We have to remember the order of the events: as soon as he realized that NMH was his first love, he tried to stop her (releasing the photos aso). In order to redeem himself, he even changed his plan: JBC should really love NMH.

Yes, KPJ might be morally wrong (using a person for his own agenda) but notice that these very same persons (NMH, NCG) have never been forced or blackmailed by him. They made a decision by themselves that's why NMH slapped herself. She even realized that she was partially responsible.

About the slush fund: KPJ is just the one who delivered the money, the real criminals are JKH and JMR. JKH is the one who created the slush fund, who is committing tax evasion, pushed NCG to commit suicide... JSM and JYC also have blood on their hands. To me, the moment he becomes the real chairman (shares from Cheong A Bio and Daeil Distribution), he will make sure that JKH, JSM, JMR and JYC pay for their crimes. I am quite sure that JMR will be arrested for murder, JHK for tax evasion aso... he will use the laws to catch them. But in order to make that happen, he needed money and power. We have seen that JKH has connections to the authorities. KPJ needed to create his own connection.

For me, revenge means that you have no moral compass at all which doesn't imply to KPJ. When he discovered his brother's corpse, he didn't kill Oh. He always saved the child HJ and YSW. In order to convince JRM of his loyalty, he could have just followed her orders, but he never did. To me, KPJ's revenge is not a real revenge, especially if at the end, KPJ sends to jail JKH and the others!!

As for the connection with the river: I also observe that she went to the Han River before making her final decision: leaving Mooshimwon! This scene underlines the change in her: back to the roots or homecoming! She leaves this artificial and superficial life in M. and wants to lead a simple and normal life again: nature, politics and her own family!

Thanks for the great reply.  Lots of food for thought!  I agree that the final scene in EP 20 was "weddingish"  and the knife replaced by the phallus!   LOL!  So many funny things to say about that but probably not in this forum....LOL!  Always, enjoy reading your comments.  So insightful!  I always thought that Soompi forum writers she get together and write Korean dramas.  A lot of talented people on these threads.

I don't think that he wouldn't mind sending the grandpa to prison because he is well aware about the misdeeds of the Jang family (embezzelment, tax evasion aso) and that the employes always pay for their misdeeds. KPJ was sent to jail in the place of JBC. Look at what happened, when JSM was investigated.... NGC had to pay for the price.

Woo doesn't need to know about the whole story but once he realized that KPJ is related to JKH, he might change his mind. JBC has never been close to him anyway. The latter even brought JYC back and there is bad blood between JYC/JSM and Woo.

Woo might actually be relieved.  When you have a strong leader...it tends to keep things in line.  Life sure would be nicer without all of the guerrilla warefare

KPJ and NMH came to the same conclusion:

"I realized that I must have money to win those who try to control other people's lives with money"

Both are trying to stop the Jang family to control the lives of others... Hence KPJ needs to take away Cheong A from the Jang. Not out of greed and ambition... His greed KPJ mentioned in the first episode is different: his thirst for justice.

Notice that JYC has lost his money and is dependent of BC's and grandfather's will.

    @azureblue7: edit

And I have also noticed that the title of this drama "Money Flower" contains this dualism: city (Money/JMR) vs nature (Flower/NMH). And KPJ is torn apart, caught between them.

    @bebebisous33

As always...great points and insights....just to add to your thoughts on his (KPJ) thirst for "justice."  Are those his words?  I can't recall...but if they are....Is "this"  justice or really is it revenge?  To me, this feels like revenge.  Revenge being the darker emotion.  The emotion that drives a "scorched earth" strategy as opposed to justice where the collateral damage is minimized and innocents are not injured.  Case in point, I can't get past his involvement in the NMH/JBC marriage.  He internally and externally minimized the impact of "setting" these two up by saying that "she will marry being 'in love' with JBC."  The fantasy that they will 'live happily ever after' sales pitch to her father and himself....and others in the Jang family as justifying and satisfying the manipulative orchestration of "their" (NMH/JBC) relationship.  Everyone is in on this except her.  He married his "love" off to a dirt bag loser...how on earth could he ever think that would last?  Maybe, he thought that JBC would be better for her?  Would that have been before or after he took everything away from the Jang's/JMR?  which was and still is his objective.

We know that KPJ has a moral line in the sand.  He did not kill the mistress and her fetus.  Gave her the opportunity to escape-a way to "save" his mother and brother...yet, not even love for NMH would stop his destructive course.  He sacrificed her - when he could have stopped it...(he tried once with the photos)

NMH saved his life once....from the river....will she save it again?

Great point on the "Money Flower" catch...It's interesting that they didn't find a suitable "bird" instead of flower since the "wild life sanctuary" was the start of the story....and if anyone needed sanctuary in that "predatory wild life of Cheong A" it was NMH.  Although flowers bloom, through adversity and are also easily crushed.

@kismet22:  EEWWW!!!  I blasted through the first 16 episodes, slowed-down for 17-18, watched 19-20 twice!  All in three days.

I do not remember seeing the scene you describe, where Avenger carried Shrew to bed.  Ewww.  My stomach feels very unsettled.

But as I said earlier, Avenger must have felt that step necessary to completely win her trust.  WHY would he be her son's dog when he is obviously smarter, more talented?  He had to give Shrew a reason to believe he would do her bidding.  Still... EEWWW!

Since I didn't catch the earlier seduction, it explains on many levels Shrew freaking-out about Avenger & Girl.  Not only is Girl her son's wife, but Shrew felt that Avenger was HERS.  She can't compete with a pretty, younger, NICE woman.

It was confusing to me, first she did not want Girl to leave her stupid son.  Then, after Girl's father 'died,'  she wanted Girl to leave her stupid son so she could marry him to someone useful.  Now that Girl wants to leave, she isn't greasing her boots.

@watchumlots    Hi chingu...the scene I was describing was at the end of Episode 8 (after the wedding and before the 5 years later flight back to Korea of NMH and JBC)  As I see it, there is a pattern....

    1) At the start of the show...after we first meet the Jang family - when the news first broke about JYC getting the distribution business JMR hurries back to her side of the complex and KPJ shows up.  She is in her rooms and the staff (Oh, the cook and her assistant) are waiting outside of her door.  When KPJ arrives, they are relieved because he will be able to "take care of her/situation".  They "retreat" he knocks three times and enters.  There is some weird touching where she strokes his face, he gently takes her hand and and moves it...the awkward hug...its an exchange of more than shallow, calculated intimacy...its a power struggle...he knows it but she wants affection, and strength...acceptance - a knight in shinning armor...she is petting her pit bull.  Let's face it...there are no islands on that crazy river and on any map it's labeled dysfunction junction.  After the wedding its again, the three knocks - he enters and the ICK! factor goes off the gauge!

    2) In my personal opinion, I think that the "physical" happens for the first time then....I remember he had this dead, resolute look in his eyes.  Like he knew what he had to do....keep in mind that he is sleeping with JMR at the same time that JBC is taking NMH's virginity (their wedding night so it's presumed...and we know that JBC was waiting for that from earlier episodes)   What causes me to pause, is that I remember that when KPJ first proposed the idea of JBC marrying NMH - JMR said that if he (KPJ) could make that happen, she would never forget his contribution and that she would reward him accordingly...I know that she did with money and her "trust" but if in her mind....the reward was herself served up on a silver platter....LOL!! who knows just speculation....Can't you hear her internal dialog?

JMR - "KPJ has married my precious JBC off to that clueless country girl and ensured his rise to power to be the next Chairman....now as a reward, I will give him the best gift....Little ol' me wrapped in this red number -"

    3)  JMR has business reasons for needing NMH but on all personal fronts she hates her....she has taken both JBC and KPJ from her.  The insane jealousy that she must feel...both love NMH.   JMR no longer is #1 or the only one in their lives.  She has lost her power over them....I wouldn't be surprised if she kills NMH....

  9. Hey Everyone...

Just finished catching up on this drama over the weekend and had some thoughts so apologies if they have already been exhausted ad infinitum...

    1) I was surprised with the development of the Jin Seon Mi/Sam Jang character.  In the first episode, I got the feeling that she was a tougher adult than she has been most recently portrayed.  Not as needy, or easily tricked.  I'm a little disappointed to be honest.  It would have been interesting to have had her play a more for want of a better word "seasoned" character in that she is a bit more shrewd in her negotiations.  She is sweet, kind and what we like in our female leads yet, she is a bit clueless for a successful CEO.....just my opinion,

    2) This drama has the Goblin feel...the bromance, the fantasy star crossed lovers trope.  Its fun, and I'm glad to see it back.

    3) Lee Seung-gi rockin' the haircut and crazy fur coats we all love to see at the Goodwill....Lee Hong-gi the eternal 'Jeremy" with the FT Island plug....the humor is off the charts but my fav...Cha Seung-Won....5 minutes and I'm ready to go back and watch The Greatest Love for a little more Dokko Jin!!!

@purplebassadmire2 onion headGreat analysis about JMR. crazy monkeyYou are right: she considers KPJ more as a tool than as a friend and confident in the end. She was enraged, when she discovered that KPJ hadn't killed YSW. Notice that after that event, she decided not to use KPJ any longer, when it came to murder someone. She had realized that KPJ had a soft spot and was not able to kill anyone. On the other hand, since JMR considers KPJ more as an accessory than as a confident and friend, she can definitely view him as a possible lover. KPJ as a lover would fit her situation, as she would satisfy her need and desire without getting more serious. But let just not forget that she doesn't treat JBC differently. For her, JBC is a tool to achieve her dream. In one of my previous posts, I had pointed out that her monologue in front of the mirror ("BC, don't worry, I will shut the mouth of anyone who speaks of this nonsense") revealed that she saw JBC as a part of herself. She thought that once JBC is the chairman, her dream has come true: she is sort of the chairman of Cheong A as she considers JBC as a part of herself. She would keep using her son so that  she would be his puppet master. That's why KPJ wanted JBC to become the chairman, he had planned to replace JMR as the puppet master of JBC. As conclusion, we can see that JMR has a very negative view of men... they are weak since they can be used for her own interests.

I even have the impression that JMR could resent her condition and her sex. She is a woman and as such, she is not allowed to run a big company or even inherit a company. As a woman, her role was reduced to be married and have children (she was expected to have a son). She really hated her situation. From my point of view, JMR is jealous and she wished, she would have been born as a man. That's why her words and actions underline her resent towards men. She hurt her son many times, even yelled at KPJ and Oh. She behaved like Jang Seon Man who would beat his son, when he was disappointed. I doubt that a mother like YSW or NMH would behave like that, if they were angry at their child.

On the other hand, she also resents NMH because the latter has a different approach to her womanhood. She didn't mind following her husband to NY, she was satisfied with her situation as a married woman. She didn't want to get divorced, when the existence of the mistress and the illegitimate child was revealed. She was hurt but she showed strength as she didn't accept to remain a victim. Despite her poor situation, NMH was able to turn the table. She wanted to adopt HJ which YSW hadn't even imagined... Notice the difference of actions between JMR and NMH. The former thinks that money can change her situation (improve her situation as daughter-in-law and woman) hence her dream has always been to have her son become the chairman of Cheong A, whereas NMH decides to enter politics in order to change the whole situation: to make sure that companies like Cheong A or the media company belonging to JYC's family-in-law don't abuse their power for their own interests.

JMR and NMH had a similar fate. Both were hurt as wives, as they were victims of an arranged marriage and wanted to get revenge for that. Sure, if the marriage of JSM and JMR was not even legally registred, I could understand why JMR would feel so betrayed and would do anything to change her condition. However, her resolution illustrates her lack of intelligence and her greed. She had no problem to kill people for her own interests. She used men in order to achieve her goal and make her dream come true. Therefore the writer decided to have NMH entered politics. I think, she wanted to show the discrepancy between JMR and NMH. NMH stops relying on JBC and KPJ, she wants to become active so that she will never be used again and make sure that no arranged marriage like hers happens again. Striking is despite her goal, JMR has never been able to do anything on her own. She always had Secretary Oh and later KPJ by her side. Now, she has lost her two aides hence we are about to witness her downfall.

    @bebebisous33

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the psycho (just couldn't find a better word to describe her) psyche of JMR.  A psychoanalysts dream.  Just to add some additional comments.

    1)  She was raised to be a tool within her family.  I think early in the show, she was trying to prevent BC from losing the distribution assets to JYC and stated that her family had "ponied" up the $$$ in order to save Cheong A.  Therefore, she had been "married" into the family as a financial solution to one of their many problems.  She kept trying to use comments like that to preserve her ground with Grandpa et. al and much to her chagrin, her claims meant nothing to the powers at be.

    2) She sees everyone as a tool - her posse at the house/driver/NMH's father/female assistant/JBC...tools to be used to acquire power.

    3) I think that KPJ's biological father (cant remember his name off the top of my head) was in love with KPJ's mother.  She needed a male heir pronto in order to get on the playing field.  She is lonely, rejected and in danger of getting the boot - driver seduced, manipulated and viola JBC comes into the picture.

        * side note, do you think that the driver knew he was going to be killed? or was his sadness a result of leaving his "family/son" behind?  and why was JBC crying when he got the call on the driver...?

    4) Because she is a predator in her own right, and has used sex before (see note above creation of male heir) SEX is an ultimate form of power that wielded well delivers results.  She is attracted to it, craves it and KPJ personifies it.  Their twisted relationship enhances the allure as well as the taboo.  In her mind, she has taken a "common boy" and raised him well to be a very lethal and effective personal pit bull and lets face it among that jungle of hell KPJ is the apex predator in the bunch.  She can't afford to have any outside people getting involved in pillow talk with her - too many secrets to hide so KPJ is the guy who will deliver on all fronts.  Besides in her mind, tying him using sex and affection (affection being the big stick here - no pun intended) is another way to enhance an emotional bond in order to prevent a knife in the throat.  I keep going back to that scene early in the show when she is sleeping and teen hunk KPJ shows up with the knife ready to stab her rotten heart....poetic justice that one way or another she will feel the knife of karma outside of the bedroom but in what is leading up to it....

The last scene in ep 20 is all about seduction.  Why, would he have chosen this scenario to deliver the coup de gras and not sitting in the office of the chairman with JBC's head on a platter.  It's because he has taken everything from her  - the business and the personal and in this instance he wants to shatter her heart where it really counts - after all and in some ways like the young NMH, she just wants to be loved...and her husband didnt love her....

       * Side note - did anybody else think that much of her enmity and early red alert warning to KPJ about his love for NMH where based on her jealousy toward NMH?   I mean, in her mind KPJ is hers...point, period and out.

She must have been seriously conflicted at times because KPJ was like her son...and so proud of all that he became.  She "raised" two boys a blunt object like a stick JBC - her own flesh and blood and a guided smart bomb.

KPJ was her "son", tool, savior, lover, pit bull and champion and I hope that he survives - however,  you know what they say about Karma and too many people have been hurt/destroyed by his manipulations.  In this case will the means justify the end?  There is a price to pay in the universe when you "sacrifice" good/innocent NMH for revenge.  There is a price to pay for capturing light with dark.

I think that JBC will not survive nor perhaps JMR.  I hope KPJ makes it but not without a miracle - grandpa will do whatever will in the end benefit Cheong A because after all in his mind...that is ALL that matters.

I think you just sumned up JMR/JEC's relationship. JEC was very smart at making JMR totally dependent on him to make BC chairman of Cheong A. Up to this point JEC had handled everything from BC's mess with YSW and the DNA test by YC.  I was quiet aghast when 'pedophile' was mentioned in the discussion about JMR's feelings for JEC and i don't think they ever slept together. I have no doubt that she was attracted to him in a way hey! JEC is a smart, intelligent hot blooded male!!! hahaha

@imgreatgal - Hi I'm new to this thread and watched the drama over the weekend.  I kind of got the feeling that they did "do the dirty" on the evening of the BC's wedding.  I thought JEC went into the room (after everyone got home) and tucked JMR into bed (she was on the couch wearing the long red dress/negligee and he carried her to bed) she grabbed his hand and then camera pans to the doors as they close.  Don't think that he left....which creeped the heck out of me.

  12. I am loving this show!  So far it reminds me of the J-drama Nigeru wa haji da ga yaku no tatsu.  (wonderful)  It has similar characterizations of lead actor and actress.

Actor - He works in IT, is cold/lonely/socially challenged with group of friends at work.  No cat but a bird, however he is looking for a house cleaner.

Actress - Cheerful but also level headed, hard working - lost her job...

A contract marriage is proposed in order to facilitate both of their lives.  Great secondary characters and story line..... They fall in love and the rest is history.  At the end of each episode there was a dance number/video that was popular in Japan while the show was airing.

Anyway, looking forward to discussing this great k drama with all of you.

FYI, GR/WY is no longer a Grim Reaper (role), he was stripped of the "job" (Ep 13).

So he is back as WY.  Walking around without his hat with him, since the interrogation/confession session with the Internal Audit team.

Still banking on a miracle from "Wind Blow" boy, whose grandma is RL.

Whilst watching the "Special" episode, a thot came to me that maybe "Wind Blow" boy is like our Goblin Bride . . . there is a purpose to his mystical "wind blow"

Looking forward to watching Secy Kim's TT dance.

@tiki_sg thanks for the info on GR/WY status. However, my understanding, and correct me if I am wrong...is that he is "under probation" pending final - review. So, still has the job. No powers and just the man child King?  Nope, our man stillzzz got the magic!  Why?  He met with the young GR i.e. see him and interact with him at the café when he was giving our favorite crown lapel pin wearing GR - ET's death notice, and also, when he showed up for the "main event" "ready to rumble" last showdown with Mr. Grape flavored popsicle mouth a.k.a crazy, creepy - Evil Eunuch....Our favorite GR was wearing his hat and dressed in his GR regalia.  He says, " Park Joon Heon, answer this Grim Reaper, Deceased Soul. Park Joon Heon, (and finally) PARK JOON HEON!!!" and our favorite demon spirit is "OUT" of ET ready to get sliced by our Goblin.  So, I don't agree with your comments that WY has been stripped of the "job" i.e. powers and responsibilities...he is still the GR and not just WY.  So, will still use GR and WY interchangeably by force of habit if nothing more.

    Did he?

    Did uriGR promise?
I wonder at that, as when KS asked him (for what we saw),
to erase her memory when he and her mark are gone for good
uriGR was standing in the middle of Seoul, traffic all around
him and that dummy tried to video-call with KS and did not
hear a single word properly until KS was that frustrated
muttering "I leave the deed in your room, hung up and
muttered "What am I to do with him?"

We never saw that they met in GRs room, exchanged the
deed with that promise. We just saw KS requesting
it from GR not that the dummyKing actually
    promised to do so.

    I say he will not.
Also due to the fact that he was already
suspended for abusing his powers on
mortal souls and that would be
as if he would stretch his
    luck a bit to far

@itzibitzispider - I agree, I don't think that GR will erase her memories....why?  He usually doesn't do what the Goblin wants him to do.  The Goblin made him "promise" not to tell ET about what would happen when the sword was removed, yet, GR did tell her that Goblin would turn to ashes and disappear.  Personally, I think that ET is strong enough to handle it.  Yes, she will be sad, but she will hopefully have others to help her mourn, Sunny - just lost her brother again...GR and DW will need each other for comfort.  Forgetting what happened as we learned with GR doesn't necessarily mean that you always forget the feelings associated with the pain.  It would feel a bit weird, if ET's "family" where all sad and she was the only one that wasn't.

Also, just a thought....I keep going back to the scene when Chairman, before he died, told the secretary (new CEO)  That one day a man may appear to him with the name "Kim Shin" and he will be asking him for his "things" and that he was not to ask questions but just give them to him.  Maybe it's not just the "flight tickets and property arrangements" but something deeper and associated with Kim Shin's return...just a thought....

Seriously it's not fair how can Evil Eunuch the biggest sinner still can wandering around as ghost for hundreds of years harming human have much power that even grim reapers can't catch him moreover he still can fight back instead he disappear to easily in the end without torture but KS who become a sinner because he did it for his country not personal gain, WY who did it because get manipulated from baby, ET and Sunny who didn't do anything wrong got many hardship, heartache, torture, pain, etc. I want a justice for them after enduring so much they certainly deserve happy ending

Hi @meifang89 agree with your comments regarding the perceived disproportionate distribution of punishment and pain meted out to the Evil Eunuch (BTW wouldn't want to be *THAT* guy this week walking around Seoul - lots of anger blasting his way) I think/hope that we will still see some justice in the next few episodes...maybe there is a job worse than GR's....He "died" but for the first time that DEMON will be facing "judgement"!!  Bring the marshmello's time for a "roasting"

    GUYS AND GIRLS,

EVERY SAD GIF POSTED ON HERE I TURN MY HEAD AND LOOK THE OTHER WAY.

I DON'T WANT TO RE-LIVE THOSE EMOTIONS ANYMORE THAN I HAVE TOO.

Top 4 most painful moments in episode 13:

    1. The whole Kim Shin death scene. WY crying, ET freaken crying like theres no tomorrow, I love you, ashes. No comment needed anymore. AND HEARING THAT SAD DEATH SONG. ARE YOU KIDDING ME EDITORS?? YOU KNOW HOW TO MAKE A SCENE SADDER. i know thats not a word but who cares right now.

    2. When KS was reading the promise letter/document/agreement. WOW. Gong Yoo seriously broke my heart into a million pieces. This dude can CRY. Why doesn't he showcase his crying skills more often?

    3. GR and Sunny goodbye scene! Sunny says, "Good-bye, Majesty." I BROKE DOWN. and hearing there song I Miss you. Lord, have mercy on me.

    4. ET and KS little get-away. I know this is suppose to be a happy scene but for me it was pure SAD. It was a good-bye kinda thing. For just a few hours they were able to get away from all the craziness that was yet to come. I was happy to see this scene but mostly I cried for the both of them. Happy and Sad tears.

Doesn't this just sum up the whole episode you think? A lot of sad stuff happened i forgot about the good. Ok, so like only 1 good-ish thing happened, the Kiss. Its only "good-ish" because the dang director didn't ZOOM IN on the kiss! WTHECK man. not cool. AND it was a good-bye kiss TOO.

post-episode-13 withdrawal is LEGIT REAL this time around. 1 whole week.

@Sunshine_Her agree with your list.  I also would add the scene where GR as WY was painting his Queen (Sunny) and he laid down next to her image....facing her....that was sooo sad :bawling:

  17. Well, another AMAZING episode!  Yep...cried...big time!  This show continues to deliver at every level - production, acting, writing week in and week out.  (I hope they are planning an amazing group vacation after this...hopefully somewhere warm)

I will probably need therapy once this show is over.  It's been an emotional rollercoaster and I seriously don't want to get off this ride.  I've used up a box of tissue and am now reaching for good old TP to blow my nose.

Looking forward to next week with bittersweet anticipation.  Three more great episodes, hopefully full of good *feels* for all of our star crossed lovers...and of course, only three more episodes until the end....*sigh*  deep breath....

@andy78 Hi Chingu!  I agree, that her in-ability to see the ghost may be temporary.  At least, I hope so, since ghosts have been such a big part of her life, and now, her friends....

@NRGchick Its an Instagram photo of ET in Quebec in the future...w/someone....

  20. Just finished watching Ep 12.  This drama is still running on all cylinders!.  Congrats to the whole team - this drama is setting a new standard!  Writing, acting, production quality etc.  I hope we get more of this level of quality shows in the future.

@carolinedl you are right, maybe she is losing her purpose as the "bride of goblin and drawer of the sword" however, Goblin keeps saying that there must be another door or window to circumvent their tragic destiny.  Perhaps it's part of a "new" purpose being created for the Goblin and his Bride.  Remember, we all assumed that to be his Bride and to see and pull out the sword, they had to be "in love."  I think "love" and "sacrifice" has a lot more to do with how they will get around their previous destiny.  I think that the curse and judgement meted out by the DW "Deity" did not factor in love of the Goblin by his bride and it's overall effect on their decision to stay together and potentially sacrifice their life.  He to another stretch of pain and immortality and she, death.  Should be interesting to see how things proceed
