It's funny that some fans got concerned about HB not mentioning SYJ during the FM (even though she didn't mention him either during hers ). 

 

Silence has been their M.O. from the beginning. What they didnt say and being careful about how they acted is what convinced many of us they were a couple, among other reasons. Just a few examples that come to mind: 

 

-They had various interviews since their LA denials came out in Jan 2019 and reporters were never allowed to ask relationship/marriage questions even though previously these questions were routinely asked and answered in interviews. SYJ even addressed previous romance rumours head on, but didn't say anything about the persistent rumours with HB. 

-SYJ barely posting much from CLOY filming, and only posting one picture of her and HB from that whole period (meanwhile with other projects she posted numerous photos with co-leads, including HB during TN days).  

-HBs perceived "coldness" towards SYJ at Baeksang. He tried hard not to stare or appear too close/friendly. 

- during SYJs Japanese fanmeet last September there was no mention of HB at all. In fact she got a little flustered at the mention of HBs name when the guy suddenly brought up the fact that he wrote him a letter. 

 

Anyway, this is nothing new. Just because they confirmed their relationship never meant they were suddenly going to start talking about each other. They are private people and they know anything they say, even just talking about each other as colleagues, could be scrutinized and turn into a headline. It's much safer to just say nothing. They are doing their best to protect what they have

Happy 2 years to this thread which has brought many of us so much comfort, happiness (and maybe stress too lol) over the past 2 years! Lots of other great platforms out there to discuss BJ but I agree with @firstaidno other place has the collection of in-depth posts and analysis like Soompi. I recently went back and re-read some Jan 1st posts and the excitement and happiness was just  What a day! 

 

I still visit the thread regularly - thanks to those who keep it updated! I am excited for what is to come for our couple both individually and together. Next month SYJ will start filming Thirty Nine and we should be able to see her back on screen in early 2022 after nearly 2 years absence. We should see Point Men released sometime this Fall and CA2 likely in the first half of 2022. Hopefully through promotional activities we get to see lots of interviews and new content. And don't forget we still have one more FM with HB through Smart this coming weekend! 

 

And of course the news we are all waiting for   Truthfully i am a bit surprised it hasn't happened yet. When confirmation happened, we heard from many reporters that they were planning to get married back in 2020 so it seemed pretty much imminent. But maybe the pandemic is really affecting their plans. And now that SYJ is filming soon it seems pretty unlikely a wedding will happen this year at all. So we will continue to patiently wait (we're pros at that by now lol) because I know the good news will come eventually. From their recent FMs it's clear these two are solid and happy as can be.

Same. I love her CFs (Valentino in particular has been an amazing campaign) but SYJs true charms shine through when she is being interviewed or on variety shows. She has such great humour and wit. I'm still sad we were deprived of quality post-drama interviews after CLOY. I wish there was a more in depth interview with her although we had a few glimpses here and there with the Elle and Glass interviews but these were very short pieces.

Yes I imagine it was scripted but with his input. The words seem to capture his life philosophies pretty well. One thing I really appreciate about HB is that although he is a man of few words, when he does speak every word is purposeful and well thought out. He doesn't ramble on or try to fill in space.

Honestly I was so surprised she finally posted Kitty (heh, I can't with the name ). I think we fans got so used to her privacy in the past year that we were expecting that to continue post-confirmation. But actually it seems she has relaxed herself and is sharing more like she used to when she first started her IG page. There are many pics of her previous pets and vacations and times with friends. I had been thinking she would not post anything with HB in the future, but now I'm thinking she will surprise us one day. But it won't happen because fans demand it. She will share if and when she wants to. 

 

I'm really eager to hear if she accepts 39. There was so much casting news last week about this project it seems they are finalizing the cast at this stage. This seems like a project SYJ would enjoy (female centric) so I hope it works out.

I'll echo what others have said - SYJ is known to be friendly and affectionate with people. I recall this is one of the things that made it hard for some people early on in the shipping journey when trying to figure out if there was truly something between her and HB, because she was touchy/feely with lots of costars over the years. Anyway, she links arms with everyone when taking a photo. So silly to even make a fuss about this  but here are some examples:

The struggle is real indeed  Of course we want more content and more opportunities to see them together, especially in another project. But at the same time it makes total sense to protect their relationship and not make it seem like a "product" to be monetized. Its a fine line. I'm sure part of the reason they did the joint Smart CF is because they knew how much fans wanted it since HB first signed on. With COVID there have been no opportunities for in-person FM so this was an easy way to show gratitude, especially to the fans in the Philippines who have been crazy over CLOY.

That's the beauty of CLOY right? It was such an epic love story with high stakes and they had to overcome so much to be together. As it was a mature, sacrificial love, not one based on lust or something fleeting. Yup, not getting over CLOY anytime soon...

Yes, I feel the same.  When I mentioned that the Directors statement might be controversial, it is because there are a lot of theories out there that the last shot we see of them outside their Swiss home is actually years down the road when RJH might be permanently settled in Switzerland. There are entire blogs written about this and active discussions on the CLOY reddit subforum. People get genuinely bummed out to find out its only 2 weeks a year  and this theory helps ease the bittersweet feeling after the finale. But as you say, it's all up to interpretation in the end.

The SYJ write up isn't terrible, but it definitely could be better written and more polished imo.  Especially if it's going before a global audience and industry people.  Typos are a definite no no!  

 

I agree, I prefer these types of photos compared to the overly photoshopped CF ones. But one thing I like about most of the CFs SYJ does is that she is usually smiling in them. Like the recent Crocodile Ladies, Smart and Jennyhouse usually feature her smiling. The Bride and You was going for a different aesthetic so I get why it was more serious (and it turned out stunning)! 

 

And yes the writeup on the Korean 200 site was a bit messy despite the content being really glowing. Looks like they realized it too because they made some changes,  taking out mostly all the typos and spelled Sam Worthington's name correctly  but for some reason they can't manage to spell CLOY correctly. They changed it from Forced Landing of Love to Crach Landing on You

@AyaI'm not sure if the content will be different in your country, but I was able to watch The Truth Beneath on Amazon Prime. SYJ was so great in this role.  That along with The Last Princess, she has really been killing it in her last few film roles (TN and Be With You were really good performance too). 

 

The Point Men will likely be released this year so that's something to look forward. We have been deprived of seeing either on screen in a new project since CLOY ended

I agree they are more compatible than they appear. I know we tease HB a lot for being 'no jam' but he does have a good sense of humor which SYJ has mentioned even as far back as TN era. She said he was quite humorous and that they both love comedies. I think HB in public is probably a lot different than HB in private amongst people he knows and feels comfortable with. We've gotten glimpses here and there when he was younger and even most recently when doing promo with SYJ. He has a quirky side for sure. 

 

And yes this thread is quieter lately. I think BJ being confirmed now naturally means less to analyze, therefore less discussion. We did have some good content with all the Smart stuff, but that seems to be over for now. HB is busy filming and no new casting news yet for SYJ, so unless she updates her IG again things are quiet. There are also so many other places BJ fans gather. Twitter is probably the most active, IG has lots of accounts with big followers counts and engagement, there are FB groups, etc... Soompi is just one of many. 

 

As for twitter fan wars ,  it's hard to escape these things. It is a small group, and I guess people can't help to engage with them which ultimately amplifies their voices. If people just ignore it, they will have less of an impact. There is nothing to argue anyway- BinJin is real, that other ship never re-entered the waters  Both HB and SYJ seem to be in a good place both professionally and personally. Some people just need the drama I guess? I'm glad we have left that behind in 2020

Regarding his answer about love on his GQ interview I think he answered it in a mature way, love is not all about butterflies in your stomach, it takes hardwork to keep and protect it.

 

I agree. The cap was just a cap and wasn't intended to send a message. Not HBs style to invite gossip through his wardrobe  And I actually loved his response to the GQ question about love. He said its something you can't live without but its hard to keep/maintain (which is wise and true). And when probed further, he said he works hard to protect it. If you read between the lines, its obvious the interviewer is trying to get him to say something about his love life/SYJ, since it took place shortly after their relationship confirmation. HB knows what the interviewer is really asking and without saying much he actually says a lot. He says he is trying to protect his love/relationship. And we have seen over the last year that his way of doing that is by keeping it private.

It's hard to keep up with all the Smart content. Based on the teaser (umm are they holding hands ) we may be getting CF # 2 really soon. Speaking of Smart, more info today on how they managed to get Binjin on board in the article below. I especially like this little tidbit from Wilbros who talked about how many international offers Binjin received once they confirmed their relationship. I think they were always planning to do a joint ad with Smart based on all the behind the scenes planning that went on from August to November 2020 (as per Jane). So even if they were offered more lucrative contracts, it made sense to do their first joint CF through Smart.

BinJin is not only their client and talents there's more to look forward. If we can do leave Jinnie's and Binnie's privacy and just protect them all cost and support on their new upcoming projects, we should respect too the privacy of their colleagues and friends, and also support the works they are doing from BinJin Couple to other clients and talents too. 

 

If you look at the four pics she deleted, they all include staff from her agency so that is most likely the reason. Maybe the issue is with a particular individual who requested privacy. She still has plenty of pics up with fellow actors, her Cinderella friends, her glam squad, and HB. She has never deleted pics before so there was probably a good reason for it. But I agree in general we should be respecting the privacy of those around her and not bother/pester them in any way.

I enjoyed the BTS. Nothing earthshattering which is to be expected since it was vetted by the agencies but its awesome to see them side by side interacting again after SO long (since Baeksang in June). They looked relaxed and seemed to enjoy the shoot.  HB always makes SYJ laugh which is my favourite thing ever. She finds her Mr. No Jam hysterical. Only love can do that

Makes you wonder how everything would have hit differently if they hadn't confirmed last month:  HBs voice appearing in the background of SYJs birthday post, the Smart CF dropping on Valentines Day with SYJ saying I Do, hands all over HBs chest and his loving gaze, HBs APAN speech, the side by side framed pic sent to Jane, etc. We would have lost it

Yes, and it always look so genuine too. This is the biggest surprise for me. Because you commonly hear that actors are who actually together in real life lose that spark on camera and don't tend to have the most sizzling chemistry. But HB and SYJ are an exception for sure. They had chemistry from the very beginning when acting through a monitor for TN, then all throughout CLOY (where they were likely together already for a year) potraying the most beautiful love story that captured peoples hearts, to the present with the Smart CF where their love and affection really shines through in those 10 seconds or less of screen time together. They just radiate happiness

Yes, and if you pay attention to her IG activity, it has gotten more infrequent the past few years compared to when she first opened her account in 2015. She was posting several times a month. There was one day she even posted over 10 pics. And she liked and commented on her friends posts all the time. Since early 2019 (i.e. grocery gate) it has dwindled down a lot and I think the only comment she left on her friends IG in the last 6-8 months is SYAs post a few months ago. Reason being, when she leaves a comment fans flock to it and start commenting back. It probably draws too much attention. She used to post pics with her girlfriends all the time too. But no more. I'm sure she has other apps she communicates with her friends on, or maybe a private IG account for all we know. But point is, she has purposely made her IG less about her personal activities and more as a way to share gratitude and news with fans. 

 

Also I agree@Seriyaabout the dreaded p-word. It's like anytime we don't see SYJ for a little while, that is the assumption. It's annoying . Whether its marriage or starting a family, let's be patient and let them tell us when there is actual news to share. 

 

I saw a similar discussion on Twitter this week about SYJ with a few fans concerned about why she isn't working right now - that maybe her focus is on her personal life vs her career. First of all, even if that were true, there is nothing wrong with it.  She has had a consistently busy career for 20 years. If she wanted to take a break for one reason or another that's her right. As much as we all want to see more works from her, we can't dictate that. Second of all, she told us as recently as Nov/Dec that any breaks she takes are usually unintentional. I think her words are pretty clear. She takes pride in consistently delivering new projects and in being passionate about her work. She only takes breaks while waiting in between projects. We know she has been attached to Cross since last year and if all went according to plan, she would start filming already in March but Covid seemed to have affected it. Could she have squeezed in something in the second half of last year? We know she was offered the lead in the historical drama which she turned down. She is sent a lot it scripts but is probably very selective. I'm sure she will film something this year, whether Cross or something else. Like everything else, fans need to be patient and have some faith

Some have been waiting since 2018 TN promo and some since Jan 2019 grocery photos.  For those who started to ship during CLOY, 2020 was full of waiting and we sustained ourselves on whatever crumbs would get thrown our way. After CLOY wrapped in February, we saw then together only once the entire year at Baeksang. And somehow we survived.

 

We finally got our long awaited confirmation. This is the easy and most enjoyable part now 

 

I actually think its less the fans putting pressure on them, and more so the media getting overly excited to finally being able to publish stories and talk about them, which they couldn't do pre-confirmation. Lets continue to ship responsibly as we always have. It's just a matter of time

It's been a while since we've had a Vast denial. They are saying it's not a marital home. Well, considering they just confirmed "dating" only a month ago, they can't really say much else until an engagement or wedding is announced. 

 

But it's an awfully big place for HB to live in by himself, no?
