Firstly, I' m so happy HB has FINALLY got some recognition for his amazing portrayal of Captain Ri. I don't think CLOY received as many awards from the SK award shows as it should have (compared to all the international awards and recognition) so this was really nice to see. And how yummy does he look? 

 

Secondly, KKT's loving declaration for HB is just  How sweet. I recently posted a pic of HB smiling and cheering at KKTs wedding from a few years ago, so its nice to see how supportive they are of one another. I love a good bromance And from what we know, both he and his wife really like and support SYJ. 

 

Thirdly, SYJs video acceptance was so cute. She just radiates happiness doesn't she? I think she didn't attend in person to not draw attention to their relationship. It made sense for HB to attend since he was winning the grand prize so she sat this one out. It's all good. Whatever makes life easier for them, we should understand and respect it. 

 

And finally(!!!), HB mentioning SYJ in his speech as his last big thank you. I wondered if he would.  But in keeping with HBs open admiration for SYJ while promoting CLOY (and TN too), he of course gave her due credit as his best partner. Ahhh

Yes this is what bothers me too  It did seem a little too good to be true considering how much attention they have been getting since Jan 1st. I think SYJ would normally attend since she won an award but maybe there would be too many prying eyes. I guess we'll have to wait and see. As always, low expectations = less disappointment

I'm excited about APAN because them both appearing likely means they both won an award (we already know SYJ won one of the popularity awards). But also its been 7 months since we have seen them in the same frame together (June Baeksang) so it is LONG overdue 

 

I'm not sure I love the tweet capitalizing on their relationship to get people to buy tickets  (although I understand from a marketing point of view). 

 

Still to avoid disappointment, I hope people manage their expectations a bit. There is still a pandemic going on with social distancing + masks, and their private nature, so PDA of any kind is not likely. 

 

Let's enjoy the last award show where their work in CLOY is being recognized, and any sweet moments or pictures together is just a bonus really. At least this time around, we know they are together

Inspite of the pandemic drama shoots are going on and every other actor has a good drama coming up in 2021 except BINJIN 

 

It's hard to say. HB had a busy 2020 with wrapping up CLOY filming and then Bargaining shoot which took a lot longer than expected plus filming in Jordan in the middle of the summer. He may be reviewing scripts, and signing up for CA2 is a high possibility. We should know more on that soon since filming might start in February. 

 

With SYJ, it is a bit harder to guess. Her last 2 projects were dramas and she normally does not do dramas back to back because they are more demanding so I assume she will do a film next. It was supposed to be Cross starting in April but we know that got pushed to September for now. She may do something else in the meantime if it fits her schedule. The pandemic has really thrown everything off course. 

 

The bigger question is when they plan to get married (I assume this year) and whether either or both intend to just take a prolonged break to enjoy their life together a bit. Or they may surprise us and jump right into work soon after. While I get the idea of capitalizing on CLOY, they are both at a point in their careers where their past successes speak for themselves. They are top actors in their fields. Its less about whether roles/offers are coming in (they are) and more a question of whether they want to work, and how often.

When SYJ said/joked at the TN press conference that people said she and HB looked good together at those press events, who was she referring to?  Fans?  TN staff?  Or Kmedia were already writing about how good they looked together even then?  And she and HB had talked about the fact that they did look good together?  And then somehow segue into wanting to work together in romcom? Haha. 

Some of those bus clips came from TN promo/media companies' social media accounts. And yes, pink bubbles everywhere 

 

I also laughed at SYJ talking about how good they looked together. Did you catch HBs face the moment she said that? He was originally looking straight ahead and then quickly turned to look at her. It's like he couldn't believe it 

 

During CLOY promo, when HB was asked why he decided to do CLOY, he always said he had been wanting to do a romcom next. I always found that a bit questionable. Considering all his recent projects were more action/thriller based, the idea that he wanted to do a romantic comedy doesn't quite jive. I think its more likely that he wanted to do one with SYJ and tried to make that happen (which is what we always said right? )

The irony though...their first award show together (PIFAN) they were sitting side by side but they didn't know each other and there was barely any interaction. During Baeksang, we now know they were already a couple, but were seated 6 feet apart.  APAN, if they both attend, they will be also 6 feet apart and probably wearing masks. The TVN interview is the BEST one, IMO. It doesn't have as many views as the Swoon videos but it's really Binjin at their peak, chemistry wise. Hi there, so while Belma is definitely HBs stylist and is shooting with HB today as per his schedule, the second IG story included at the link is not SYJs makeup artist. Her IG is mujin81 (see link). I'm not sure who mujin_official is and based on their IG page I don't think its the same person.

Can you imagine if those photos captured a kiss, hand holding, or anything else that couldn't be easily explained away as friendship? That may have prevented CLOY from ever happening. It's been one week since D-Day and it still feels surreal 

I noticed that nearly all the articles posted about their dating news use the CLOY promo pics released after the final episode, which pretty much doubles as a pre-wedding shoot right? Everyone called it at the time too. This brings me to the realization that while we sadly didn't get a RiRi wedding as planned, we're likely (like 99.9%) getting a BinJin wedding. 

CLOY sales lady also knew what was up. 

 

 

And look how happy HB is at weddings. Imagine how happy he will be during his own.

@deviee13I'm still confused by the pictures Dispatch used. The one where HB is sitting in his car and SYJ is in her cute golf attire next to it was likely taken this year, either before HB left for Jordan or soon after he came back (I'm thinking before most likely). But when were those solo pics taken? And why were they used? Usually when declaring someone a couple you choose pics with them in the same frame. 

 

@bjlovebirdswhile she is definitely a strong woman, I don't think we should take HBs silence right now as a sign of him being under pressure/soft. He responded through his agency statement which is usually enough to confirm a relationship. And during the CLOY presson he was the one that was tasked with answering the dating question. I have no doubt when the time comes to announce marriage, we will hear from him personally.

It's funny, she says this is huge, equivalent to Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams falling in love after The Notebook (*sigh*...they were cute together ). Her commentary focuses mainly on the huge cultural differences between SK and western celebrity gossip.

Since the confirmation I've been down the rabbit hole watching/reading previous interviews and SO much hits differently now, doesn't it?

TN Director, pretty much the captain of the BinJin ship, spilling major tea back in 2018 about HB liking SYJ more. Remember he spent a lot of time with them after the filming, having drinks and talking about the movie. HB, as usual, is in denial about how obvious he is 

 

 

 

SYJ Japan Fan Meeting in Sept. Gosh, her nervousness that day makes so much more sense now. She tried hard not to talk about HB and the two times he is mentioned she is flustered, especially when she has to pretend to only know about the letter HB wrote because she read it in an article 

 

 

The Infamous Swoon Couch Talk 2019. We all remember HB talking about his definition of a happy life- something close yet so far, something he wants but isn't easy to get, and then looking and gesturing at SYJ who is wearing her best poker face. I knew some would turn on HB once we got confirmation, so it's not surprising. If this was not K-ent, maybe BinJin would have played this out much differently but unfortunately they are bound by the strictness of this industry.  I always looked at the numerous denials as 2 sets

 

1) LA rumour. We all of course believe this was a personal planned trip and not some spontaneous meet up, however this doesn't mean their relationship was serious at this point. They would have been dating only a few short months by then,  so why would they admit to something so new or that was still in the initial stages? 

2) CLOY filming period. It is completely naive and ridiculous to think they would confirm during the filming and airing of their drama? That's a huge NOPE in their industry and would have ruined their reputation. The last denial was harsh because it had to be for people to hopefully move on. And it came from their agencies whose job it is to protect them and their image.

 

The only time HB and SYJ personally addressed it (during DEC 2019 presscon) they were smiling, joking and carefully answered in a way that didnt directly deny anything so it would not come back to bite them later.  All anyone had to do was read between the lines. They wanted privacy and not to distract attention from the hard work of their drama, that's all. 

 

More reporters are weighing in. Basically everyone assumes marriage is around the corner. 

 

 

 

 

ETA: how can anyone call themselves a true fan of HB or SYJ and be upset they have found someone they want to spend their life with? Especially when they are both decent people? Yes I loved this. She is unapologetically in love. For her to write this on her IG is huge. She didn't mention HB by name (she didn't have to) but that one single sentence along with "I am grateful to meet a good person" says everything and more. I can still hardly believe it.

I don't want to focus on others since its rather pointless given the news, but if I may just offer one final thought. I have always said (and still believe) there is nothing wrong with shipping. There are still SEGA ships and InJin ships out there with active IG accounts and that won't necessarily stop because BinJin are in a confirmed relationship. And honestly they don't have to- it's totally fine if people want to continue to express their love and admiration for those dramas/fictional couples the actors portrayed or even the actors friendship itself; but when it crosses the line of harassing the actors and their real significant others is when it becomes problematic and unhealthy. The problem has never been other ships' existence, but rather the attacks on SYJ, lies spread, and actively trying to harm her and HBs relationship. The rumours that spread and that resulted in a denial in July were born out of this aggressive and harmful behaviour. And while the denial was swift, it was the follow up Osen article the next day which talked about the hurt it caused to HBs family and loved ones that was tough to read. Knowing what we do now, we know that meant SYJ (and HBs business partners IG story posted that day spoke loud and clear, he literally posted a picture of her face with a heart drawn over it). So if there are some hard feelings between ships, its due to that behaviour. And those who contributed to the spread of hateful comments/lies know who they are and the role they played. To those that just want to support their biases and reminisce about past relationships and dramas in a respectful way, all is good

All these comments crack me up. They are equal parts "duh, and the sky is blue" and "didn't HB make it so obvious?" Poor Binnie is so exposed. But I hope this finally dispells any confusion about his behavior at Baeksang and the perceived "coldness". He was totally normal in the candid, off camera moments we saw, but made an obvious effort when on stage and during tik tok backstage video to control his heart eyes and staring.

-  Pandemic: after CLOY wrapped, the pandemic hit. They probably had a lot of time alone together before HB started filming Bargaining and even after he got back from Jordan. They both seem to be homebodies and probably enjoyed this time. 

-Long Distance: while they had long periods of togetherness, they also had a nearly 2-month gap when HB was overseas filming in Jordan. Again, these things can either make or break you. They prove how much you can or can't live without that person.

-Rumours: how many rumours and denials did they have to issue? They had constant pressure and curiosity surrounding their status for 2 years, and even a dating rumour with another actress to top it all off. Still, they managed to navigate all of this noise with good humour and class. 

 

So to some it may just seem they have confirmed dating, but most of us realize how much they have had to overcome to reach this point and going public is not an easy decision. I'm sure it's been well thought out and I'm glad they can now see the outpouring of love and support everyone has for them. I've been reading comments across so many platforms and its so heartwarming to see the response. My heart is full.
