Enter the answer to the question below

Remove 'a' and 'f' from the letters in quotation marks and enter that into the answer box. Also enter "灌水刷帖盗贴永封".

(I think you just paste in the Chinese phrase at the end because to translate it would not make any sense. Hope that works.)

It worked! :w00t: Thank you so much!

命運線

幸福微甜

吹一樣的風

SJ-M's song titles..  Haha~

命運線 - Lifeline

幸福微甜 - Love is sweet

T/N : 微 has the meaning of slightly. But in English it's a bit weird to say Love is slightly sweet.

吹一樣的風 - Blowing the same wind.

Hello, I was hoping someone could help me with this character 霏.

Is it a verb or a noun?

I mean, I met someone who told me it's a verb and it means  falling thick and hard like snow and rain. But when I search for the character in zhongwen, it said that it's a noun and it means falling snow and rain.

So which one is it, exactly?

Thanks in advance!

Hello!

I'm taking a chinese class, and my chinese teacher gave me these choices as my chinese name 诗露, 韵霏, 傲雪.

I have no idea why she gave me so many choices, but I think she really enjoys naming people. Haha.

So now I'm faced with a difficult decision, since I like all of them!

Can you help me choose? Which one do you think is best?

Thanks in advance!

There are a number of uses for 霏 - it can be used as a noun, an adjective or a verb, depending on context. For example in 霏雾, it's like a mist (or cloud) that envelops or surrounds. It's quite literary.

诗露 [shi lu]

韵霏 [yun ling]

傲雪 [ao xue]

I would personally choose 诗露.

I think it sounds more Elegant :)

what does 春泥 mean? thankssss

Literally, Spring mud. It can also be a girl's name, usually old-fashioned. And it's also apparently the title of a song by Harlem Yu.

what does 春泥 mean? its a title of a song

Okay... I'm just going to assume that there's no other deeper meaning besides the most literal meaning:

春 - Spring

泥 - Mud

So maybe during spring rain, there's mud? something like that :P

Can someone tell me what this article is talking about?

Oh my! It's quite funny and a bit sad. Names have been changed in the article.

This happened in Dangtu county, Anhui province, in China. On Nov 24, the public security bureau received a call from Ni Xiangdong saying that there was some uproar in his house and to come over quickly. Upon arrival, the police found a 38-year-old man Chen Piwen whose head was covered with blood. Chen insisted that this was a family matter and he was sorry to have troubled the police. Chen is Ni Xiangdong's second son-in-law, and had just quarrelled with his wife's brother Ni Fangxiao. In a fit of anger he'd smashed his forehead with a brick. After mediation by the police, Chen went to have his head bandaged.

The police began investigating what had happened, and when Chen came back, this was his answer: "I can do anything, but if you don't let me be together with Ni Xiangdong, I'll give his family no peace."

The police were shocked to hear this and asked why.

"Ni Xiangdong and I have a deep relationship, I will 'miss' him if we don't see each other for a day, and can't sleep at night." This left the police very confused, but upon further digging, the truth was revealed:

Chen lived in the neighbouring village and Ni watched him grow up. Chen was an honest man despite being poor, so Ni liked him and adopted him as his godson, then let his second daughter marry him. The couple have a boy and a girl. At the end of 2006, Chen and Ni went to work in a factory in Wuhu and to save on expenses, the two shared a room, and when the weather got cold, huddled together in the same bed. To ease boredom, Chen borrowed two porn DVDs to watch with Ni. The homosexual scenes in the DVDs were an "eye-opener" for both men. On one snowy night, they actually began imitating those scenes in the DVD and started hugging each other. From then on, the pair were like inseparable lovers no matter where they went. Even during the New Year, Chen refused to go home and insisted on sleeping with his father-in-law.

As time passed, this became fodder for the villagers' gossip and Ni's wife came to know about it. Upset, she refused to let Ni go to work and kept watch over him at home. She said, crying: "Family shame cannot be made public. I haven't slept with my husband for two years. Our son-in-law always manages to find an excuse to keep me away and spend the night with my husband. If I don't agree, he'd make a complete nuisance of himself and won't rest until he has achieved his goal."

Later on, Ni didn't want to continue this relationship with Chen and repeatedly found an excuse to get away from Chen.

When Chen couldn't see his 'lover', he started calling his father-in-law often to "resume their affinity". On the night of Nov 23, Chen came to his father-in-law's place and managed to get his mother-in-law to leave. Ni had to entertain him. After a few drinks, Chen wanted to sleep with Ni, so Ni called his daughter to come and get Chen home. Chen refused and started arguing heatedly with Ni. Ni had no choice but to let him stay a night. The next day, Ni's son Fangxiao heard about this and rushed home, demanding an explanation from Chen of his treatment of Ni and if he couldn't explain, to never step foot in the house again. Chen started quarrelling with his brother-in-law and then used a brick to smash his forehead.

The police sternly pointed out Chen's errant behaviour and warned him not to harass his father-in-law's family in the future. After the police's admonishment, Chen realised the error of his ways and sincerely apologised to his father-in-law and family, saying that he would not do such foolish things anymore. That night, Chen returned to his own home.

Can someone help explain the difference, if any, between using 真 and 眞?

I was reading a Chinese textbook today that used "眞的嗎?" instead of "真的嗎?"

I've been taught using both Traditional and Simplified in the past but have never used or encountered 眞 before, I think ^^;; Haha. So I was just a bit curious.

Appreciate it (:

眞 - traditional

真 - simplified

嗎 is written in the traditional script. In simplified form, it would be 吗。

what does this mean?

屌那媽臭西

含家剷

some dude messaged me that.

Both are quite... derogatory, to put it nicely. lol.

The first one seems like a bunch of swear words/characters thrown together.

The second actually means something along the lines of.. hope your whole family john teshing dies.

Would someone please help me edit this?

It's for Mother's Day and I'm not sure if it's grammatically correct or if it even makes sense. ><

I started learning Chinese a while ago but I'm still a beginner so please help me out~~ Thanks Soompiers!

What I'm trying to get out of this message:

Today is Mother's Day.. There is a lot of things I want to tell you. It is a blessing that you are my Mother.

I want you to know you are the most caring/compassionate person. Although we argue/fight a lot you always love me, always believe in me, always protect me, always want me to be happy, and will always forgive me.

Having you I do not have to worry.. There will never be a person like you because you are the best.

I am very sorry I always yell and you.. Sorry.. I regret my hateful words.

I am very grateful to have you as my Mother~~ I love you!!

Forever cherish each other~~
