Girls’ Generation’s Yuri And Jung Il Woo’s Upcoming Drama Changes Directors

Girls’ Generation’s Yuri and Jung Il Woo’s upcoming drama “Good Job” (literal title) will be moving forward with a new director.

 

On July 20, the producers of the new ENA drama “Good Job” officially announced that Ryu Seung Jin would no longer be directing the production—and that he had been replaced by director Kang Min Goo.

 

The producers also shut down rumors that the change was due to conflict between the director and the actors, explaining that Ryu Seung Jin would still be working on the script in a new role as creator of the drama.

 

Notably, “Good Job” will mark the highly-anticipated reunion of “Bossam: Steal the Fate” co-stars Yuri and Jung Il Woo, whose previous drama set a new record for the highest drama ratings in MBN history.

The “Good Job” production team’s full statement is as follows:

Hello, this is the production team of the new ENA Wednesday-Thursday drama “Good Job.”

We are making a statement regarding the article that was published today about the change in [our drama’s] director.

In order to improve the overall quality of our drama, director Ryu Seung Jin will be changing positions to “creator” and working on the script. This decision was made after plenty of discussion, and it was not due to conflict with the actors, as was previously reported.

Therefore, Kang Min Goo has newly joined the project as director and is currently leading the filming set. The cast and the crew will all work hard and do their utmost in order to bring viewers a great drama.

Thank you.

“Good Job” is currently slated to premiere in the second half of 2022.

Actually, it seems that Kang Mi-Goo has had  a little more experience directing than Ryu Seung Jin, so maybe it is a move in the right direction.

Kang Mi-Goo was one of the Directors on Itaewon Class.  He also directed "The Goddess of Revenge" and "Pumpkin Time". I have not seen them. Have you?

Well, it looks like "Good Job" will come next after "Extraordinary Attorney Woo."

July 22nd saw the release of pictures for the first script reading of the upcoming television drama "Good Job" which had been confirmed for the Seezn streaming service. But with the unexpected success of "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" the upstart television network ENA is eager to keep the legal drama's timeslot filled, and has now confirmed "Good Job" to air on television.  "Good Job" stars Jung Il-woo and Kwon Yuri as romantically entangled detectives.

The eight episode "Good Job" reunites the two leads from the historical drama "Bossam: Steal the Fate" from 2021. New pictures also confirm more cast members. These include Eum Moon-suk and Song Sang-eun in the second leading roles. Jo Young-jin, Yoon Sun-woo, Lee Joon-hyuk-I, Hong Woo-jin, Cha Rae-hyung, and Shin Yeon-woo-I have also all been confirmed for naming roles.  "Good Job" will begin airing on ENA in August after "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" has finished airing.

*** "Good Job" is coming to our screens in mid-August. This 16 episode drama is on Viki US. It's on “Coming Soon” list as a ‘Viki Original’ no less. Episode one airs Aug. 24. I'm glad to see them in another drama together.

In two new main posters for the upcoming series, Jung Il Woo and Yuri show off their perfect couple chemistry. First, Jung Il Woo and Yuri dress up in matching black attire. Another poster revealed previously, her character Don Sae Ra has her eyes set on a man surrounded by money. Wow! Love the posters. 'Good Job' premieres simultaneously on channel ENA, seezn and Olleh TV on August 24 at 9 PM KST!
