I didnt wrote properly coz of my keyboard  change it automaticly, lol .... I mean not an action but romance...sorry

Never mind ^^ Yes that's right. Not action, but melo/romance.

@Mona Ys, well, none of the actors are the right age for their characters in Moon Lovers anyway. And he looks very youthful on top of that. Just got a shock by discovering LJK is the same age as the guy playing the crown prince ^^ Yup Tas San was another unconventional drama hero :) But I don't want him to be chased in another drama xD Poor guy running away all the time. The first episode particularly was very movie-like I agree. And the OST is love, especially Nell's song.

yes agree with you, I think I will re-watch Two Weeks after TBDW, because the waiting for new SHR episode is killing me...hehehe.... I love the OST too, and I love the little girl. She's cute and really had good chemistry with JoonGi.

Ok just noticed my typo... Tae* San. The s looked like a e in my tired eyes. Sorry to Jang Tae San the mountain who fell in love with the Sun. This story was so cute. Indeed Lee Chae Mi is the best on-screen daughter he could ever had :)

I loved Two Weeks, the chemistry with his "daughter" was wonderful. They hit it off so well that the actress could pass for his daughter IRL :P but I would like him not to be a victim in his next modern drama. A cool modern version of the 4th prince perhaps?

Glad to see everyone appreciate the pics.  Still got no time to reply and wanna say it's the first time I see JG's Kdrama or any historical Kdramas that has palace scene of this grandeur:

It's 1st time in his drama, it was beautifully shot as well as the Rain ritual and the music is totally fit to the scene. This scene mostly done to a conventional sageuk and not in a fusion sageuk.

In episode 9 everyone was talking about the forced kiss, but my mind was focus in wangso killing eun and his wife. I hope this won't happened in the following episode, I wish that it is a misinterpret vision of HS. ML is a mixture of fantasy and real historical events and characters, knetz have a high respect with the history (all conventional sageuk have a high rating, only 6FD are the historical sageuk didn't reach 20% which is sad). Fitting a novel about qing dynasty to k-history, is riskier and need a clever writing, I hope the writer won't change the history in favor of the novel. This is one of my worry for ML.

@elisluvgeunscouple May be because I am too immersed with his portrayal of Wang So that I prefer him in saeguk and I mean Goryeo saeguk. Joseon saeguk is limiting his beauty but in Goryeo saeguk, he is so visually stunning with that mane of glory and please wear more black and rawks that guyliner :wub:But I also always have the vision of Jun Ki portraying a fierce lawyer or a pilot in modern drama and now I am looking forward to his next drama's role.

@dejun Wang So in that princely robe really took my breathe away. And how I miss the mask. He is sexier with the mask on.

Hello guys! I guess it has been 3 years since I posted something on this thread, sorry haven't really been going to soompi until lately. But anyway, I have been enjoying scarlet heart ryeo and our dear JG look so damn beautiful which reminds me of his gong gil's days  I'm falling deeply in love with his sexy jawline and any sharper it gets I think I'm doomed :w00t: I watched never said goodbye and it was so sad, hope he does happier projects next!

Yea.. .in joseon saeguk he have to wear hat (dunno the name of it), even when he sleep , we cant see his hair lol. ATAM,JG,SWWTN (he was a  pretty vampire with his long hair)

I think long hair suits him much, even at his 35, he still beautiful ...even prettier than the female cast.I remember, once shin min ah was asked by the reporter, 3 words that deacribe ljk...and she said "ljk is pretty". I think it's hard for him to put off the title of Korean Flower boys ( well he is not a boy anymore)

Agree. No one looks prettier than LJK when he is sporting long hair :P It makes him look younger as well. It's a shame the long hair appeared only once in SWWTN (yeah only once, because psychopath Sung Yeol that freaks me out doesn't count :P)
I also love when his hair is tied up like in the scene Hae Soo tells him he finally looks like a prince. Don't know why, it gives him a Peter Pan vibe in my mind - the hairstyle with the clothes, hairpin and mask as well. And lol Wang So has more various hairstyles than me xD Pretty precious prince ~

I know Koreans do not like the longer hair but I wish he kept it a bit longer. It frames his face so much better. The heck with fashion. I was always told rather than follow fashion follow what looks good on you.  My mom hated the longer skirt lengths and never wore them. Personally I don't care so much. The other place I see that fashion thing sometimes is the length of guys pants. Why would they want to look like they are wearing pants that they borrowed from their little brother?  Anyway... I support longer hair on Joon. ALWAYS!  Maybe if he is going to do modern drama he will consider it?

The longer hair was indeed popular before. Now the trend is quite gone in Korea. It still is in Japan though. I don't care, he looks good in both. Am I the only one who absolutely LOVE his military look ? He has such a nice face that he doesn't need hair to cover it up ! ^_^ The big no no was the Joseon Gunman hair cut (or rather post-Joseon Gunman during a few weeks) for me.

A long rant about few things

Although LJG is an korean actor his debut was in a japanese movie. Venus Hotel as Boy. Why not in a K-drama or K-movie? K-producers didn't like him? Maybe there are other koreans actors who made their debut in other country, but this is weird to me.

LJG is praised both by the media and fans for his acting skill and performace but the dramas in which he played after he was discharged from the army, no one has reached 15% in overall rating. (I'm not talking here about the awards that he has won). I asked myself if he chose the wrong projects and my answer is that he chose very well. Arang, Two Weeks and Joseon Gunman there have been dramas that have brought something new and interesting in K-drama land.

Many fans want that LJG to have a co-star with more experience, almost of his age. But in SWWTN and now in MLSHR it turned it out that he has much more chemistry with younger actresses. His beauty and his youthful features can make an actress of his age to look older than him. I wonder what actress would want to be overwhelmed by his beauty and his acting skill. The truth is that LJG steal the screen. I remember the disappointment of the fans on this thread about the lack of chemistry between him and Nam Sang-Mi. And Nam Sang-Mi is a very beautiful actress. And about his chemistry with Shin Min-A, yeah, it was there but it didn't gave sparks, and the rating wasn't too high.

Moon Lovers drama managed to produce the most biger rift betwen rating and online viewers. I'm curious to find out what will count more for Korea. That pattern of 2000-3000 people given us by AGB or TNmS or the milions of online viewers. (without to count the fans from China).

Some of his fans say that it's time for LJG to shine again in his country. He's shining dear K-drama fans, he shines for a long time and he's more brighter with each his new drama. But among so many complaints about his dramas you can't see his natural brilliance because some of you are blinded by the light bulbs.

Thank you @Diana Blanche .  This has long needed to be said and you did it beautifully and I agree.

I am glad the Consumer Powers Index (CPI) catches stuff beyond just TV ratings....by next year people will have forgotten many of the currently highly rated dramas but they will be talking about ML for a long time.

Yes, LJG did chose his drama well, although not great. Arang and the Magistrate, Gunman in Joseon and SWWTN are quite unique stories and very different from each other, giving him a chance to have more variety in acting. He needs an actress who carries the same weight of charisma as him, regardless of age. I stopped watching SWWTN because I could not see the Lee Yoo Bi in the character and she has the O_O look too. Nang Sang Mi is around his age but it was tiresome to see her act (she kept furrowing her brows) and gave the vibe of she is much much older than the character and Park Yoon Kang (LJG's character). Park Ha Sun.. was quite forgettable. Shin Min Ah in hanbok and sageuk are bad matches. She's a charismatic model, but not actress.

The original BBJX in drama and novel have very good plot, and his agency (or him) will have thought k-version will turn out just as good or even better. We, as audience, were so looking forward for this drama too, didn't we?

While there are comments that he should not take up any more sageuk, I can understand why he did more sageuk.

1. He likes doing stunts and action which unfortunately can only (mostly) be found in sageuk drama. Modern drama with actions like Two Weeks is hard to come by.

2. Ok, this is the fangirl in me speaking : He looks dashing in hanbok! With hair all tied up neatly, he is one of the best-looking actor in hanbok. I noticed this from the very first episode of Iljimae (scene on the roof). His voice is made for sageuk speech.

BTW, anyone knows where can I find more of this army broadcast hosted by LJG? I have watched all episodes with Secret but I think there are more other episodes with other guests. Can't get enough of him in army uniform.

Indeed,He always choose drama project well, which brought a new concept n idea. Korean drama usually has the same concept like a rich man with an ordinary girl, about hospitals n all of the doctors, etc...most of ljk drama are different from that concept.

Honestly, I didnt watch joseon gunman becoz I dont like nam sang mi ( dont get mad of me). Ljk doesnt have  memorable female co star that will make everyone wants him  and  his female co star together again in another drama project.

Anyway , how can he is getting prettier at his age..we even have the same age but he seems too far younger than me and also no doubt...prettier...lol

His make up artist makes him even prettier than a girl, though we all know he is truly beautiful

Lee Jun Ki can never look ugly but please, not his military look. He looked much too young with that crop haircut, in fact he looked like a 12 years old boy and that would feel illegal for us to drool on him. :sweatingbullets:

@elisluvgeunscouple I have no reason to be mad at you. But if his fans don't support his work, then who? I thought that a fan offers to his idol (favorit actor or singer) an unconditionally support, especially in LJG case who offers to his fans an unconditionally love. I agree with the constructive and well-founded criticism but about LGJ is not the case.
