The new tvN drama 'The Murderer's Shopping List' is about Daesung (Lee Kwang-soo), an intern at MS Mart, run by his mother, when a mysterious body is found near an apartment on the outskirts of Seoul, Do A-hee (Kim Seol-hyeon), a police officer in the district police department, and Jeong Myung-sook (Jin Hee-kyung) of Daesung's mother. It is a comedy mystery drama that starts with a receipt from this mart.

 

In the drama, Lee Yoon-hee takes on the role of 'Kim Doo-hyun'. As a kind and compassionate police officer, he tries to help young ex-convicts who want to return to society. Doo-hyeon is a person who knows the full story of the 10-year-old Dae-sung's incident at MS Mart, and always watches over him, worrying about his safety.

 

Lee Yoon-hee made her debut as a church elder who struggles with Jeon Do-yeon's temptation in the movie 'Miryang' starring Song Kang-ho and Jeon Do-yeon. After taking a break from acting as an actor, he received a love call from Chungmuro again at the age of forty-seven. Since then, with his innate sense of acting, he has continued to work continuously, receiving reviews for expressing his character in a hyper-realistic way in every work.

First script reading for tvN drama “The Killer’s Shopping List”

First script reading for tvN drama series “The Killer’s Shopping List,” starring Lee Kwang-Soo, Seol Hyun, & Jin Hee-Kyung, took place November, 2021 in Sangam-dong, Seoul, South Korea. The first script reading included Director Lee Eon-Hee, Screenwriter Han Ji-Wan, and main cast members including Lee Kwang-Soo, Seol Hyun, Jin Hee-Kyung, Shin Sung-Woo, Jang Won-Young, Kim Mi-Hwa, Bae Myung-Jin, and Oh Hye-Won. Right after the first script reading ended, Lee Kwang-Soo stated “It’s a new drama series that I haven’t seen before, so I’m personally looking forward to it” and Seol Hyun stated “I’m excited and will have fun filming. We actors and actresses are having good chemistry, atmosphere and energy. Even though he failed his exam to become a 9th grade public official for 3 years, he is still studying to pass that exam. He works part-time at MS Mart in the outskirts of Seoul, which his mother Myung-Sook (Jin Hee-Kyung) owns. His girlfriend is A-Hee (Seol Hyun) and she works as a police officer. Both his mother and girlfriend are supportive of him.

One day, a mysterious murder case takes place near an apartment building. MS Mart is located close to the murder scene. A-Hee investigates the murder case by herself. tvN’s upcoming drama “The Killer’s Shopping List” has released photos from its script reading!

Based on a novel by Kang Ji Young, “The Killer’s Shopping List” is a comedy-mystery thriller drama about an ordinary neighborhood on the outskirts of Seoul. When a mysterious body is found in the vicinity of an apartment building, a supermarket receipt becomes a key piece of evidence that kicks off an entertaining hunt for the killer. Director Lee Eon Hee, who directed the films “The Accidental Detective 2: In Action” and “Missing,” will team up with writer Han Ji Wan, who wrote the dramas “The Ghost Detective” and “Wanted,” to create a fun yet creepy drama.

Lee Kwang Soo will star in the drama as Ahn Dae Sung, the son of supermarket owner Jung Myung Sook. He was once a genius with impressive memorization skills, but his life took a turn for the worse after an incident at his mom’s supermarket when he was 10 years old.

AOA’s Seolhyun will star as Do Ah Hee, a passionate police officer and Ahn Dae Sung’s loyal girlfriend who has stuck by him since a young age. Seolhyun made an impressive transformation into her character, showing a subtle freshness and lovely charm within her character’s powerful charisma. The contrasting personalities of the passionate Do Ah Hee and the cool Ahn Dae Sung will offset each other, and their chemistry is expected to be one of the highlights of the show.

At the script reading, Jin Hee Kyung also transformed into Jung Myung Sook, a supermarket owner who works to protect her family. The actress successfully showed her character’s easygoing and cool side while also displaying her strength in leading her employees.

Other characters related to the supermarket also showcased their unique intriguing charms at the reading. Shin Sung Woo, who plays Dae Sung’s father Ahn Young Choon; Jang Won Young, who plays the role of Oh Chun Won; Moon Hee Kyung, who plays apartment building association president Yang Soon; Kim Mi Hwa, who plays supermarket employee Gong San; and Park Ji Bin, who plays the role of Saeng Sun; all attended the script reading.

After the script reading, Lee Kwang Soo remarked, “I personally have high expectations for this drama, which has a fresh originality that I haven’t seen before.” Seolhyun added, “The tension is rising, so I’m excited and am enjoying filming. I hope that the actors’ tight-knit teamwork, atmosphere, and energy will be conveyed well.” Jin Hee Kyung said, “While [the drama] is pleasant, it also includes suspenseful thrills, so viewers will be able to enjoy watching it.”

The production team commented, “The script reading achieved a perfect harmony that was even better than we’d expected, with a tense script that doesn’t let up for even a moment and actors who bring the characters to life through their vivid acting.”

It's good to see Kwang Soo back in drama.. now that we can't see Kwangsoo weekly in Running Man, the thought of seeing him weekly makes me look forward more to "The Murderer's Shopping List".

tvN released a new teaser for the upcoming drama “The Killer’s Shopping List”!

He was once considered a genius with impressive memorization skills, but his life took a turn for the worse after an incident at his mom’s supermarket when he was 10 years old. Despite his outstanding memory, he failed the civil service exam three years in a row.

The newly released teaser depicts Ahn Dae Sung as a listless cashier at a supermarket. However, the grocery items placed on the conveyer belt for checkout begin to catch Ahn Dae Sung’s attention. Starting with gloves stained with ketchup and tomato paste, the mysterious person also purchases a watermelon with an ax lodged into it and a can of tomato sauce with a ripped teddy bear stuck helplessly inside.

Finally, Ahn Dae Sung screams as he makes eye contact with a bloody fish stabbed with a knife. The receipt prints out with the text, “Supermarket comic mystery drama. The culprit is in the receipt.” In the background, a mysterious voice comments, “Please throw away the receipt.”

tvN drops the first trailer of the upcoming thriller-mystery drama "The Killer's Shopping List."

On March 16th the first video teaser for "The Killer's Shopping List" was released. It was also revealed through the clip that the upcoming drama will premiere sometime in April. 

"The Killer's Shopping List" is the latest work of director  Lee Eon Hee ("The Accidental Detective 2: In Action") and writer  Han Ji Wan ("The Ghost Detective").

The upcoming drama will base its story on the popular novel of the same name by Kang Ji Young. The series will revolve around a mysterious murder case that took place in an apartment building near MS Mart. Dae Song, the cashier of the mart, his mother, and his police girlfriend will join forces in investigating the murder scene. The only clue of the murder case is a receipt that came from MS Mart.

In the teaser clip, Lee Kwang Soo's character Ahn Dae Song was shown doing his usual task as a cashier. But someone's shopping items at the conveyor belt became unusual. From gloves covered with seeming bloodstains, watermelon with an ax, chainsaw, an old teddy bear in a can, and a fish that is poked with a knife. Ahn Dae Song got shocked by the items and screamed. tvN's new Wednesday-Thursday drama 'The Murderer's Shopping List' confirmed its first broadcast on April 27 and released a teaser poster.

 

In the teaser poster that was released, at first glance, ordinary shopping items such as tomatoes, lemons, and canned food are scattered on the floor. However, there are hideous tools that should not be among the objects, causing goosebumps and laughter. The red hatchet, monkey spanner, and nipper are slowly revealing themselves. In addition, tomato ketchup with an open mouth is sprinkled on the floor, reminiscent of vivid bloodstains, creating tension. This suggests that a mysterious incident occurred in an ordinary supermarket, raising curiosity about what kind of clues the suspicious traces in the shopping items will lead to detect the culprit.

 

Above all, at the bottom of the teaser poster, a receipt with Lee Kwang-soo's comical expression was captured, drawing attention. Lee Kwang-soo finds something and is astonished. The image reminiscent of a scene in a webtoon evokes laughter, while at the same time raising the question of what kind of connection there might be between Lee Kwang-soo and the criminal in the copy of ‘The culprit is in the receipt’.

He works part-time at MS Mart in the outskirts of Seoul, which his mother Myung-Sook (Jin Hee-Kyung) owns. His girlfriend is A-Hee (Seol Hyun) and she works as a police officer. Both his mother and girlfriend are supportive of him.

One day, a mysterious murder case takes place near an apartment building. MS Mart is located close to the murder scene. A-Hee investigates the murder case by herself. Soon, Dae-Sung and Myung-Sook joins her investigation. The only clue of the murder case is a receipt that was issued from MS Mart.

Based on a novel, “The Killer’s Shopping List” is a comedy-mystery thriller about an ordinary neighborhood on the outskirts of Seoul. When a mysterious body is found in the vicinity of an apartment building, a supermarket receipt becomes a key piece of evidence that kicks off an entertaining hunt for the killer. Lee Kwang Soo plays Ahn Dae Sung who was once considered a genius with impressive memorization skills until an incident that took place at his mom’s market when he was 10 years old. Seolhyun stars as Ahn Dae Sung’s girlfriend Do Ah Hee, a passionate police officer who has only had eyes for him from a very young age.
