larus
Ajumma Choi Kang-hee and Officer Kwon Sang-woo team up in Mystery Queen by tineybeanie | March 2, 2017 | 2 Comments New stills for upcoming ajumma detective drama Mystery Queen have been released. All the cuts of the main character, played by Choi Kang-hee (Dazzling Temptation), look quirky and colorful, while those of her co-star Kwon Sang-woo (Temptation) seem murky and dark. Perhaps the color dynamic is supposed to represent their different approaches to investigating? The plot is about an ajumma who had childhood dreams of becoming a detective, but real life got in the way, and now she’s saddled with a prosecutor husband and a mother-in-law who don’t appreciate her at all. Due to an unforeseen incident, she becomes embroiled in a mystery that gets her partnered up with a gruff cop who’s all rough edges, played by Kwon Sang-woo. She comes at the case from an angle that’s all theoretical knowledge and deductive reasoning, which she learned from reading mystery novels, but he comes at it with experience and seasoned gut feelings under his belt. http://www.dramabeans.com/2017/03/ajumma-choi-kang-hee-and-officer-kwon-sang-woo-team-up-in-mystery-queen/

The drama is about an ajumma dreamer, played by Choi Kang-hee, who loves pondering whodunnit puzzles and reading Agatha Christie-type novels. larus
Detectives, spies, liars, and new hires in poster parade for spring dramas by girlfriday | March 9, 2017 | No Comments A new crop of dramas is headed our way, and we’ve got a whole parade of posters lined up for KBS ajumma sleuth drama Mystery Queen, JTBC spy thriller Man to Man, MBC office human comedy Radiant Office, and tvN youth music drama The Liar and His Lover. I wouldn’t have guessed this from the show descriptions, but so far, the series with the best posters turns out to be Mystery Queen, with a set of stylish shots that make me think of hardboiled detective novels and Humphrey Bogart movies. Mystery Queen’s posters are straight out of the fantasy life of its ajumma heroine, played by Choi Kang-hee, a mystery novel enthusiast who considers herself an amateur sleuth. She abandoned her dream of becoming a cop when she married a prosecutor, but a mysterious case will give her the opportunity to sharpen her skills and team up with no-nonsense detective Kwon Sang-woo. I love the imagery in the posters, with long shadows, bloody outlines, and the classic gumshoe and femme fatale on the case. http://www.dramabeans.com/2017/03/detectives-spies-liars-and-new-hires-in-poster-parade-for-spring-dramas/
