Yet to watch the premiere, can someone give some hints for the first episode? Is it promising?

I don't care at all if there isin't romance involved so i don't have a problem on that departament...I think sometimes people are too obsessed on the romance part that they tend to miss some good shows out there, something it's quite sad...

I have just finished watching the first episode and I am loving it. crazy monkeyIt is a very good combination between crime and comedy. I really like the tone of this drama.... even the nagging mother-in-law is so funny. I am glad that @docster6 is there too.

About Ha Hwang Seun (the detective), I am wondering if he isn't suffering from a loss of sense. People kept telling him that the drink was hot, but he drank it like it wasn't. He pushed Yoo Seol Ok to the ground but he didn't even apologise. I bet, he didn't sense that he had touched her. Maybe it is due to the brain injury he suffered at the beginning of the episode.

@nonski@evie7@triplem@sakura2016 smileysshout out to my dear chingus!! You should try this one!!

The second episode is more fun, my hands for all the teams.  Yoo Seol Ok reminds me of Noh Eun Sol of "Protect the Boss".  It must be Choi Kang Hee.

This is my first time to watch Kwon Sang Woo and think this is his great comeback.  What you notice is his personality the writer intends to show and he works wonderful.  Like a gangster is his charisma.

thank you for the shout out chingu!! I love Kang Sang Woo but I always fear his dramas (they always have sad ending: if not the leads then the 2nd lead have to die and they are heartwrentching *gulp*) but I'll try it since you recommanded!! :D

I really loved the first episode and I can`t wait to watch the second. I did not realized when the time was passing. I loved the protagonist enthusiasm to help the police officer to solve the crimes. I could felt her excitement and I want her to continue to do it. It makes her happy. Her shenanigans to be able to go outside were funny but if the family will be against her passion after she will be caught, she should think of divorce.

You are asking if there will be romance between them?  I read that it won`t be a romance between the protagonists but a good partnership. I think it is best this way. But I can`t wait to see what the writer and all the cast and crew prepared for us. Either way, I root for them to make a good pair/ friendship.

so dont expect love story in this one. ok i think i need some break from love thing, kind of refreshing. already air 2 episodes, i'll comeback later after watching it.

I felt same.  Viki works about 64% but I really enjoyed and will wait for the rest 40% in two hours after my jogging.   I enjoy the way Sulok dealt with her mother-in-law and she uses her reasoning even in buying eggs on sales!

I liked the first episode, but I freaking loveeeeeeed the 2nd episode! (Just finished watching it so wanted to squee here for the first time. xD) It had a lot of funny moments that didn't feel jarring at all. The investigative scenes are cool to watch too. I liked seeing Seol Ok give reasonable explanations about clues and suspects. The show reminds me of old mystery novels. ^^ (Sidenote: I'm worried about her 5 trays of eggs! LOL I don't want them to get broken.)

I really hope this drama gains more viewers and recognition.

Me too, 5 trays of eggs might be ruined by the hot-blooded detective.  I have been watching them.

This drama has been quite funny and most of all it is something nice and easy to watch.

But to be honest, there is something that annoys the hell out of me: If Yoo Seol O is so smart..she should know better than to just go trapsing into a crime scene, where they are looking for and taking in evidence...she should know that she could destroy evidence with her half a**ed actions...I know that the scriptwriter probably meant to create a funny scene, where she can show how smart she is and most of all one where she can mee tHa Wan Seung again..but still...

@Asgarla Actually, she behaved much better than Ha Hwan Seun at the crime scene. HHS had to be reminded to put on his gloves and not to step on the foot prints. In fact, he is much more stupid than her: he is sitting on the eggs!! So they won't survive it.

Fact is that HHS is only working with his instincts, like Hong Joon Ho described him as a dog, using his instincts. He will smell something and follow his instinct. That's why he gets so often hurt and even is not succeeding so well in his career. Another illustration for that is that he is sitting on the eggs. He is not observant enough as he doesn't pay attention to details. Yoo Seol Ok is totally different. She doesn't just use her brain, she is watching the crime scene with a lot of attention and concentration. You could notice the difference between them by the way the CSI reacted to their appearance. HHS got scolded immediately, while they greeted YSO with respect. They had met her before.

However, she did make a huge mistake: she didn't realise that the real identity of the true criminal in the first case. Here, she was too slow, she needs to developp some "animal instinct". As conclusion, she needs to learn something from HHS as well. Both will help each other to developp.

@dhakra Shout out to my fellow!!:) I thought, you might be interested. Funny but also dark. A great combination, a drama without any romance.

Naver - Osen: 'Queen of Mystery' First episode, Kwon Sang Woo X Choi Gang Hee fun thriller

1. [+1290, -64] Rather than the drug dealer, Choi Gang Hee looks like she is taking drugs ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ ...

2. [+1323, -150] It is not realistic to look relaxed in front of the criminal

3. [+894, -72] The end was a little unbelievable...

4. [+794, -102] It nice that it is thriller but to be honest, i couldn't concentrate~

5. [+259, -18] Maybe because the writer is not known but it feels like something new. Writer, Please write well as you imagine.

6. [+277, -36] I think it will depend on the story ㅋㅋ Since Choi Gang Hee is married, i don't think it will focus on romance. Kwon Sang Woo hasn't been in a drama for a long time, maybe that's why he was a little awkward at first but then it was okay. The comic is not heavy, so i think it a success for now. After Chief kim has ended, i was wondering what to watch, but surprisingly this is fun ㅋㅋ

7. [+356, -65] The drama that is not realistic is the one Park Bo Young in. Just watch the drama, if it's fun watch it if not stop watching it, why are you arguing over being unrealistic or realistic...

EP02

Naver - News1: 'Queen of Mystery' Kwon Sang Woo & Choi Gang Hee Arrest Yang Ik June for the drug case

1. [+1068, -86] It's more fun than I thought

2. [+789, -43] The car kissing scene, i thought it was her husband...It was her sister-in-law ㅋㅋ

3. [+814, -76] I watch it without expecting anything but it's really fun~~

4. [+706, -69] Why is this so fun? ㅋㅋㅋ

5. [+286, -21] ㅋㅋ It's fun but i feel there is something with her husband...

6. [+290, -30] I watched it yesterday but i didn't judge it....Today after watching i decided it will be my wed/thurs drama ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Kwon Sang Woo and Choi Gang Hee's chemistry is surprisingly good. It's not awkward

7. [+263, -27] It's fun. It was definitely more fun than yesterday ㅋㅋ

8. [+235, -18] Maybe because the writer is unknown, the content is fun

9. [+232, -22] Kwon Sang Woo and Choi Gang Hee together are more fun ㅋㅋㅋ The acting is good ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

I totally agree with your notice and I believe the writer wished to make YSO close to a human being, Err is.

Mystery Queen, one of the newest shows to come out of South Korea, might be one of the cutest and coolest renditions of Sherlock Homes I’ve seen in awhile... and it stars a housewife with a crazy mother-in-law.

The show is about Yoo Seol Ok (get it? rhymes with “Sherlock”), a woman who’s always wanted to become a police officer—she’s even studied every year for the exam, though she’s never actually taken it. Only problem is, as the wife of a prosecutor, Seol Ok is stuck at home, mostly tending to her demanding mother-in-law. And she’s super unhappy about it. She thinks about divorce (as well as poisoning her mother-in-law), but her divorced friend advises against it. South Korea’s attitudes toward divorce have changed over the past 15 years, but women can still be ostracized by family and friends for seeking it.

@larus Actually, YSO reminds me more of Miss Marple than Sherlock Holmes. The way she interacts with people is really similar. She is able to socialise, while Sherlock Holmes couldn't. Moreover, he was more arrogant which YSO isn't.Finally Miss Marple had to rely on police help (police forces) just like our heroine.

I agree but the creators intended a comparation with Sherlock as her name Yoo Seol Ok is showing that. I think Sherlock is more popular and is an instant reminder of a deduction skill. Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot are both privite detectives. Miss Marple is more apropriate to compare with our heroine as she was, like her, an amateur consulting detective but she is not less skillful then her famous male colleagues. I think Seok Ok will become a loved character just like Miss Marples, because of their warmth. Yeah... they are more approachable.

Thanks for your shout out. I read the premise and a few other things and you might be right. This really could be interesting. I think I will watch the first two episodes tonight. Will report my thoughts.

I watched the first two episodes last night and I love this drama.  It reminds me of Miss Marple or Jessica Flectcher in "Murder She Wrote". Choi Gang-Hee is doing a great job as the character Yoo Seol Ok...very funny.  I loved the scene in the first episode, whenYSO's mother-in-laws nosey friends tried to convince her the YSO was cheating and tried to catch YSO in the act - hilarious.

This drama is a break from the romcom's and I am loving it.

It is Choi Kang Hee.  This drama spotlights more of her comedic abilities.  In the second episode, the bathroom scene is so funny.

I might be bias as I am a fan of amateur sleuth dramas and movies.  Some of the upcoming story-lines might seem unrealistic, but it is the nature of the genre...the sleuth always finds clues the detectives miss or knows who the corrupt is before the police does.
