I don't want any more misunderstandings. That way we can have a lovey dovey scene between our otp  they can make the story about YWY and CQ build a Kingdom and end the slavery.

i know right  but there are not so many episodes left sadly! they spend too much time on the rebellion. don't know if the same happened in the book or not. anyways i'm not complaining the series is about to end

True... but I was thinking that he would unslave her first and as Yue Qi said and shōu fáng 收房 before that happened.

Not sure how historically accurate the novel is but YWY did take a bedchamber maid before he took a wife or a concubine... which is rather interesting. I guess he was under some pressure to marry by his relatives who were so obviously wanting to plant a woman beside him which could have influenced his decision to go down that road. He wasn't exactly someone who had a particular reputation for being dissolute or lecherous. But it seemed to be accepted practice.

No more misunderstandings... it's enough. This time he misunderstood that she was using him... Will nightmare between the OTP never end? It's bad enough that they're constantly fighting with each other too. I think they stick sharp objects at each other more than at anyone else.

I don't find most C-dramas over 50 episodes long generally very well paced. There are some exceptions but they are the exceptions. 

But I do enjoy the bickering too... it's YWY at his wittiest and most flirtatious.

Really? Why do they cut it? it could've made a different impression on the audience though  and why does this drama have no kiss so far?! i mean the romance is there, two different OTPs but nothing. only a kissing scene will happen soon

@40somethingahjumma, in LangYaBang it was mention that Prince Jing/WangKai has a concubine but no wife that was why The Mother chose a wife for him....From watching so many ancient dramas, LangYaBang revelations about wife/concubine surprised me. Now PA....

I think I said last week that his priority is keeping the public safe and maintaining the peace. That's definitely become even more evident in his objections to YX and CQ's schemes.

The problem with CQ is that she thinks she has moral legitimacy because they are the powerless and marginalized ones. However, it doesn't take long before the oppressed becomes the oppressors with a bit of power. When someone believes with a religious fervour that they have the right to kill then no amount of reasoning can or will get through to them.

She needs to get out of that simplistic mantra of thinking "we're the good guys and any of you who are against us are the bad ones".

But I don't think CQ will leave YX because he "betrays" her but because she will get a wake-up call and come to the conclusion that she cannot support the trajectory that he's on. 

 

That is exactly how I feel. It is very clear she fails to consider that her actions could be wrong. How could they when they are the ones suffering? 

I hope she has a wake up call soon. Her lack of ability to see the big picture and her self-rightiousness is not a good combo. She is someone who thinks her actions are just and fails to see her own mistakes and gaps in her logic. From some previews I have seen, I think she will start realizing that the world is not black and white and that actions have consequences. Her revenge will end up hurting more innocent people.

Has anybody read the novel about the part that Xinger grabbed YWY's arm in her sleep?  What is the rational explanation for that action? Just curious because she woke up screaming like that.

I'm planning to catch Lost Love in Times when it is released. It's another time travel romance based on a novel. In the book, William Chan's character is a prince and Liu Shi Shi is a doctor, but since time travel is banned,I think they changed her occupation to priestess.

The movie version of Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms will probably not be as good as the drama version since it condenses 58 eps into a movie length film. According to what I found, it should be released 4th August.

If I am not mistaken Crippled Grandpa's bed chambermaid was Creepy Grandpa's spy whom got a lot of classified information from Eye of God Spy Network that Creepy Grandpa "sold" to DaLiang and cause a major problem (death of an important official?) that lead to lost of favor from The Emperor. He became crippled bcoz of that particular girl also.......

Hi, everyone! I'm new here and can't help but join the lively conversation... Yeah, poor YWY. Such a short moment of happiness, then another unfortunate misunderstanding. I think he felt betrayed and used after hearing Yue Qi's news in the morning. He might even think that XE/CQ's holding on to his arm is just plain acting and part of a ploy to keep him longer in the Xiuli Army camp. :-( He clearly looks disappointed when he told XE/CQ that it was well played and that she apparently knows everything that YX is doing and planning.

@cenching, thats one good explanation for these two old fogies whom i feel like some recalcitrant board of directors living in the ancient chinese era.  I have been thinking abt YWY's mom actually.  What is her background or hv i missed some dialogues in the drama so far?  The Yue men seem to be falling for maids mostly as Crippled Grandpa seemed to imply.

YWY's mom was a niece of Crippled Grandpa's Main Wife whose came from ancient noble family. She was a Concubine of Lower Rank, she was accused of having an affair with Creepy Grandpa but most likely she was rape by him and gone completely insane and died (executed or suicide). There was an episode where YWY visited Third Grandma  for the information but she didn't tell the complete story....Creepy Grandpa's Main Wife was imprisoned by him in the dungeon since YWY's mother incident.

And seeing the preview, so YX and ZY, didn't seem to want to sacrifice CQ yet, they looked worried, but how come YX said that he didn't promise he will bring back the army led by Sha Jie Jie righthandman?? Weren't they helped him with the rebellion??
