It is 2 am here and i have been repeating ZZ's full concert x 3 times today.. I have to say he really improve a lot. Previous few concerts, i only watched full for once. But this Shanghai's concert superb is like what he said he is getting himself continuous improve and improve. His voice more stable now and able to bring out most of the songs way better than before. Got to say i like almost all the songs he sang here including not original from his album..except rolling in the deep..as this song is super hard to sing.

His interaction with fans are so adorable. Teaching and teasing the fans in Shanghai dialect and many others. The stage really belong to him. His friends spilled a bit on ZZ being a very true friend, how good he is treating his friends. 2 of his friends telling a bit of bromance too. One of the friend said he is confused if he had falling in love with ZZ as he keeps searching and reading ZZ news in Weibo. 

Almost too many occasions ZZ giving YZ hints.. previously when you all pointed out, i have thought only 1-2 scenes until i watch the full concert in youtube. lol.

ZhouMeow in that comic is sometime bratty but always cute and loving HuangWhale. OTOH, HuangWhale always spoils ZhouMeow and overly protective of him. While the interactions are somewhat exaggerated, I can easily imagine that's what happen daily in YuZhou household, LOL.

The last one is really touching, romantic, warm and sad at once. How long JY will be in Inner Mongolia, anw? Last time he filmed Demon Girl, he was away for almost two weeks? Can we hope for someone (or two someones?) to upload songs in Changba? Or maybe ZhouMeow will sneakily visit HuangWhale?

Wiping the steam from the mirror, JingYu gazed upon a face of unease. The same face he had seen in the mirror over the last day or so, ever since he had updated his Instagram account. Why wasn’t WeiZhou saying anything about it? It wasn’t as though he expected an answer, he already knew the answer, but some acknowledgement of it would be nice. WeiZhou had said nothing, even though they had spoken since then.

Maybe WeiZhou had not seen it yet was the hopeful thought JingYu held on to. He was the one who had told WeiZhou to rest and have fun with his family and friends in Shanghai while he had to fly north for a few days. JingYu knew how exhausted WeiZhou was after the last few months. A few days, a week, of doing nothing would be good for his boyfriend. Was he having so much fun, though, that he was ignoring his social media? Completely? JingYu had been too embarrassed to ask. At least he was back in Shanghai for a few days.

JingYu grimaced, then sighed at his own thoughts. He was overthinking again. He quickly finished drying himself and left the bathroom with the single thought to find his phone and call WeiZhou. He took three or four steps into his bedroom before his mind registered what he saw, stopping him in mid stride.

Every surface, dresser, nightstand, floor, even the bed, was covered in roses. Dozens of bouquets and thousands of petals everywhere. All were highlighted in a soft hue of gold from the multiple banks of candles interspersed around the edges of the room. An earthy, sweet combination of cinnamon and orange scented the air. JingYu felt a presence behind him even before arms clutched around his waist and lips pressed against the nape of his neck.

“Silly fool.”

JingYu shivered, not at the words, but because of the hot breath they were whispered on next to his ear. He leaned back slightly as he crossed his arms over the ones that held him.

“I admit that, but only when it comes to you.”

“Why do you keep asking a question you already have the answer to?”

“Because I like hearing the answer,” JingYu grinned, turning his head enough to place a soft kiss against WeiZhou’s temple. “And because it’s the closest I can come to shouting it to the world. Sometimes it’s just too hard to keep quiet.”

They stood, holding onto each other, slightly swaying together, in silence. The simplicity of being in each other’s presence surrounding and comforting them. JingYu had closed his eyes to block everything but WeiZhou. When he opened them, he was once again overwhelmed by what he saw.

“This is quite impressive. Was I in the shower that long?”

WeiZhou chuckled. “No. I snuck it all in earlier today. Everything was under the bed and hidden in the hall closet. I just had to set it out.”

JingYu reached one arm back and let his fingers catch through WeiZhou’s hair, gently pulling him closer.

“You outdid yourself. It’s amazing.”

“You’re always doing things for me. Showing me how much you love me. I haven’t been able to do as much for you recently.” WeiZhou sent a series of soft kisses down JingYu’s neck. “I wanted to make up for it.”

JingYu turned while pulling WeiZhou to stand in front of him. Finally being able to gaze on the face he had missed the last few days, JingYu felt his chest tighten. The constrictive feeling only increased when he cupped WeiZhou’s face in his hands and tenderly kissed him.

“Now who’s being a silly fool?”

WeiZhou grinned shyly. “I know I don’t have to. It’s not a competition. But words only say so much. Hell, I even researched the meaning of the different colors of roses to try to find the right one.”

JingYu glanced around at the array of colors spread throughout the room. He wouldn’t dare say anything, but couldn’t keep from raising his eyebrow in question. WeiZhou sighed as he pulled himself against JingYu, his chin resting on JingYu’s shoulder.

“Red for passionate love, of course. Purple means love at first sight. Pink, perfect happiness. White, secrecy and new beginnings. Yellow is also new beginnings, but friendship too. Orange is love from friendship, and ‘closing the deal.’ I couldn’t choose just one or two. They all mean something when I think of you.”

JingYu tightened his embrace, his hands floating over WeiZhou’s back while his lips skittered over shoulder and neck. All that he thought to say stuck in his throat, forming a lump that made it hard for him to breathe.

“But, to answer your question with words,” WeiZhou pulled himself back enough to catch JingYu’s eyes. “There’s no other place for me except with you. As long as you’ll have me, I’ll always be with you.”

Given no time to think nor breathe, JingYu found himself lost in WeiZhou’s kiss. A frantically tender kiss that played between possession and surrender. WeiZhou’s lips strongly pressed into JingYu’s, forcing them to move with his, while his tongue tentatively sneaked and withdrew for small tastes of JingYu. Groaning as he felt himself taunted, provoked to give chase, JingYu pulled WeiZhou even more tightly to him, pouring himself into WeiZhou with soft caresses of tongue amidst shared breath.

The towel that had been wrapped around JingYu’s hips did away with itself as bodies moved. JingYu lifted WeiZhou to his toes as he tried to pull them into each other, fingers grasping into his shoulders and hair urging and aiding him. Uncertain if it was a need for air or WeiZhou that left him dizzy and gasping, JingYu stepped back, loosening his hold just barely enough to peel the shirt from WeiZhou’s torso, heated flesh drawing him like a moth to a flame.

With a shudder, WeiZhou moaned, the sudden assault of pressure and friction from teeth and tongue on his nipple shot lightning bolts through his nerves and flame through his veins. His knees buckled, only JingYu clutching onto him kept WeiZhou from collapsing to the floor. His head became heavy, lolling backwards leaving him to stare unseeingly at the ceiling as the continued heat induced by JingYu’s mouth melted him to the bone.  

“JingYu...aah...JingYu…” A plea called out for sanity’s sake, disguised as a glorious ovation.

Trailing kisses from chest to neck to chin to lips, JingYu set WeiZhou’s feet and psyche back on firm ground. A brief moment of shared stillness as they held each other only accentuated the flaring of need and desire between them.

“Oh, Zhou. You’ve ruined me.” JingYu stared into WeiZhou with the intensity of a man clinging to life.

“There’s no one in this world but you.” JingYu floated his lips over WeiZhou’s.

“I can lose everything, as long as I don’t lose you.”

WeiZhou exhaled heavily, his thumb tracing along lips nibbling to taste him. He thought for a moment to say something, but there was nothing he could say. JingYu’s overwhelming need for him only reflected and magnified his need for JingYu, until there was no room for words or conscious thought. He was speechless in his heart and soul.

Eyes open to hold each other captive, WeiZhou’s lips gave a silent response. No language except that of the body could communicate his desire to assure JingYu that only heaven and hell combined could separate them. WeiZhou wrapped his arms around JingYu’s neck with a force that locked them together, while his mouth on JingYu’s gently danced with a simple joy. JingYu skimmed his fingertips down back and spine until he was able to trace around WeiZhou’s waist and, with painstaking delicacy, he removed the last barriers, physical or otherwise, between them.

Petals drifted over the pair as they fell together onto the bed. The silk of roses on JingYu’s skin was incomparable to the velvet of WeiZhou against him, and like velvet, WeiZhou’s skin begged to be stroked and smoothed by JingYu’s touch. WeiZhou’s moans of pleasure were mixed and swallowed with JingYu’s as the most deliciously delicate skin, pulsing with fire, fell into his hand. A swell of pride ran through JingYu, as his name once again became a litany of exhilaration and abandon.

WeiZhou was certain he was falling apart, the continuously building pressure created by JingYu ricocheting through his limbs with blistering speed. He pushed and clawed against JingYu, his own hedonistic desires for this man who was everything were much too powerful to succumb just yet. With a grace and speed that could only come from one fueled by a shared passion, WeiZhou slid against JingYu, his body enticing itself on every ripple of muscle and shiver of skin he provoked.

Even though he knew what was coming, JingYu’s gasp devolved into a groan as WeiZhou first held and stroked him before surrounding him in the wet heat of an eager mouth. JingYu shuddered with each movement of lips and fingers and tongue against him. The successive ripples of fiery sensation crashed against each other within his cells, and churned his emotions into waves pushing him toward perfection and bliss.

“ZhouZhou.”

A strained softness, forced calmness, in JingYu’s voice immediately drew WeiZhou’s attention to burning eyes and lips quivering with restraint. JingYu leaned forward enough to reach WeiZhou’s cheek, his fingers imparting a shaky caress. Letting go of WeiZhou’s face, his hand fell to the one clamped on his hip. With a steady pressure, and a subtle nod of his head, JingYu guided the hand beneath himself.

“Make love to me, Zhou.”

A serenity of transcendance came over WeiZhou. An innate sense of responsibility and surrender inherent in wanting and being wanted, in loving and being loved. A confident humility in knowing that JingYu was his, as much as he was JingYu’s. That they existed because of each other, the center of each other’s universe.

The air around them crackled with expectant electricity as they separated just long enough to prepare their minds and souls as much as their bodies. WeiZhou brushed at flower petals that decorated JingYu’s damp skin, his fingers grazing to reignite nerves and lust. JingYu reached out to pull WeiZhou nearer, to trail hot breath and scorching kisses over chest and neck. Renewed urgency slowly built within and between them, alternating kisses, licks, and bites reducing restraint and care to ashes.

Labored breaths and strained utterances became an erotic soundtrack as WeiZhou soothed and pressed into muscle and nerve, waves of heat licking through JingYu’s veins with each movement. The slow diligence in WeiZhou’s touch was mocked by his body shaking under JingYu’s grasping caresses against his spine and hips.

Time stopped as WeiZhou drew himself to JingYu, a tender manipulation of limbs reducing the distance between them. JingYu was certain heaven had opened upon them, the candlelight in the room casting a halo of gold around WeiZhou. Awestruck, JingYu moaned heavily.

“My Zhou. My angel.” His fingers traced over WeiZhou’s jaw. “I love you.”

WeiZhou grasped the hand on his chin and laced their fingers together before drawing them to his lips.

“I love you, too. My silly fool.”

The universe exploded then spun crazily around them as WeiZhou pressed into JingYu, both of them seizing and groaning with the flames of sensation that ignited between them. Carefully, WeiZhou leaned forward to press his lips to JingYu’s, a soft touch to soothe against ragged breathing, even as he began to pump his hips in small waves. JingYu moaned as delicious heat spread through his nerves and melted his will, his body moving against WeiZhou’s unconsciously.

Though slightly different from the normal and preferred, the two men complemented and completed each other as always. Each stroke, each caress, each moan and lovingly voiced word added to their need to be everything for each other. Rose petals floated around them in the disturbed air as they raced together into fire and lightning.

WeiZhou collapsed against JingYu with a groan before rolling to lay beside him. Out of the corner of his eye he watched JingYu’s chest rise and fall, great breaths gradually returning to normal. Many of the candles around the room had burned themselves out already. WeiZhou got up to blow out all but one he was certain would not be a fire hazard. In the reduced light, he returned to JingYu’s side.

JingYu pulled WeiZhou into his arms. The silk of petals covering JingYu’s skin was still incomparable to the feeling of WeiZhou against him. The lingering scent of cinnamon and orange only highlighted the scent that was WeiZhou. The flicker of the single candle was just enough to cast a warm glow in WeiZhou’s eye. JingYu knew what heaven was.

“Zhou?”

“Hmm…”

“Wanna stay with me?”

“Silly fool.”

Lately, something has been really nagging at me. I can’t seem to put it to rest. It just persists and will not let me ignore it. So I thought I would just put this out there and see what others think. 

Remembering that there were those who stated surprise at the popularity of The Addicted Webseries, I don’t know if I completely believe these assertions. My reasoning goes back to the very beginning.

@skeletonworks I don’t know if you recall one of your very earliest posts. It was on the Weibo Update for the Heroin (Addicted) Webseries.  The Weibo site indicated that they had a massive number of people log on and the site crashed. If I recall this delayed a scheduled interview with the cast of Addicted. So my thoughts are very clear on this matter, there was an indication that the series would be popular.

In terms of popularity and the number of people that it reached and impacted maybe no one could have imagined that it would be so overwhelmingly favorable, but I can’t say that there was no indication and neither can anyone else.

I would love to hear others thoughts on this because I believe that some of us also acknowledge that the immense popularity is partly indicative of why the show was banned. Instant fame is not acceptable.  

 

 

I do recall that from one of JY's interview, the interviewer asked him it he knew he would become 'red' (popular/famous) from Addicted.  He said that 'someone' told him he would be but he did not believe it at that time.  Now, I don't know who this 'someone' is, whether it is someone that is part of the Addicted crew or someone outside of it but from my personal experience, if you're a team leader (someone like CJD or the director), you should be able to evaluate, at the least, the quality of the product you've created.  However, no one can accurately predict the future, so although, perhaps someone may have an idea that Addicted will be favored among the viewers, it is hard to assert that statement with a 100% accuracy back before the show was broadcast.  

As I recalled, while Addicted was airing, the highest it rank was 4th against other network drama that was currently airing at that time and it was the only BL drama on that list.  It did extremely well for being a low budget drama with unknown casts.  When it first started to broadcast, it was only on one platform (I don't remember if it was QQ or IQIYI), but later they expanded to Sohu, 56, and bilibil as well.  The crash that @filmlore46 mentioned was probably because the single site that the show debuted on could not handle the traffic, hence that's why they expanded the broadcast to other sites as well.  Addicted and Go Princess Go was considered as the two most successful and most controversial network drama in early 2016, both being banned by SARFT (although Go Princess Go was able to be broadcast again after some cuts was made to conform with SARFT).  The strange thing is that after the ban, Addicted really took off on weibo and gain a lot of attention.  For weeks, Addicted was at the top 10 trending topics due to many people talking about the ban and asking for resources.  Indirectly, because it was trending on weibo, it aroused the curiosity of passers-by and hooked some of them into seeking resources to watch as well.  Internationally, it made headlines because of the newly published guidelines from SARFT (which first appeared in December of 2015), but only begin to made headlines after the banning of Addicted.  Addicted became a sort of martyr and gain some international attention because of SARFT.    There is no doubt that SARFT is unwittingly the number one promoter for Shangyin/Addicted!  

Now, the questions come.  Why didn't SARFT ban Addicted before it broadcast?  Did CJD and the crew consider the possibility that it might get banned?  Was I surprised at the popularity of Addicted?

For the first question, it is likely that Addicted was reported to SARFT by competitor(s).  Network drama doesn't need screening like those that will be broadcast on TV.  When it started airing, Addicted didn't rank very high on viewership compared to other network drama that was airing.  It has it's niche viewers, but not massive enough to gain the attention of others.  As the episodes aired and the show started gaining in popularity & rankings on the polls, this was when competitors started to worry and that's when the reports to SARFT started to come in.  Do you wonder why there has been very little promotion done for CJD's latest project?  And none of it highlights any BL elements.......it's because competitors will find it hard to report this to SARFT without citing the reason and having proofs for why it didn't conform to SARFT's guidelines. 

As for the second question, I'm sure that this topics has come up before with the crew , but they are willing to take the risk.  Greater risk = greater reward.  Same reason they decided to publish the uncut version of episode 11 outside of mainland China after fans was unsatisfied with the cut.  

For the last question, if you ask a passer-by this question (or a newbie into the fandom), the answer is likely going to be a 'yes', but for someone who followed this show closely since February, the answer is 'no'.  Why the difference in answer?  Because I understood how it got where it is today.  How even after 6 months, it still pulls people into the pit, a little testament that it stood the test of time.  But mainly, because I believe that Addicted is the combination of a perfect storm, from the casting to the banning.

I'm really grateful that all good things are pouring for both JY and ZZ. I just want to thank this fandom, it is really a sanctuary of addiction and delulu and thank you guys for continuously believing in YuZhou. Although, It's been months when they appeared together on screen, just like their hearts burning for passion and wanting,  we too kept the fire in our hearts still blazing and never ending for them . As they glow brighter and brighter, we are proud to witness their unconditional love that has no boundaries. Light and Love are truly proportional, as they shine further, their love grows. A fact that no distance, no poisonous rumors, no Bans, no darkness or no other BS could ever break their love apart. Their love is growing stronger and stronger as they are saying it loud to the world.

Thank you @xix19xix for compiling all those testimonies that YuZhou is real and their love is true. I say that could fill the gaps for doubts and disbeliefs. It's like mega-tonnes of fuel added into the ship that would allow to sail for a thousand years!

Young or adult, people who've watched and continuously following them are convinced for that something special, unique and exclusive love which was driven by fate, strengthened by faith.

They are ready to support each other through thick and thin, It's a commitment. A piggy back that endures each others burden but both doesn't mind it at all, just enjoying the ride and company of each other. 

Now we are witnessing another side of their love which is being noble and kind; giving chances with each other. Even though they can't appear together, they found a way to share turns in the spotlight. In every ZZs event activity, It is evident that JYs show screening and events does not collide on ZZs schedule. This definitely buys them time to support each other in their own way. They don't want to overshadow each other because they are one at heart and hand in hand on this together. For JYs photobook, It shows JY's creativity and genuine way of being true to himself while being inspired for his themes by ZZ and probably most of the time JY is consulting him for his opinion for it. I strongly believe that even though they are not on the same company together, they are consulting each other and continuously supporting behind each other. They will keep on rising and have their way together back to the lime light because that's their goal and promise (our goal and promise too). As for being upright, they know the fact that they have growing number of fans, friends or supporters to accompany them however, both of them also thought of our welfare by giving affordable prices and setting a definite time for sales that includes avoiding clashing schedules of their events, thus avoid overspending, there maybe the influence of marketing, but based from the experiences they shared, they had gone through the experience of living simple and as they become stars and want to receive all their fans support, they still want it to be fair. Of course, it still depends on the freewill of fans, like 5 miles who's mysteriously freakin' dirty rich but a respected ring leader for CPFs. Generally, both Yu and Zhou are good people, they still think for others even though they are now the hottest stars.

I'm not sure how accurate is that information..  For USD 100,000 in PRC and in most places i presume, we can do better promotion activites than showing a 15 sec clips on an LED screen intermittenly for just one day. I think 5mileslove is a fan account- a insider fan with very deep pockets for sure. And someone both JY and ZZ probably knows.  Personal opinion of course. Have a great Sunday everyone.

@ryokise, strangely enough, it was these unguarded moments that solidified my belief in Yuzhou. Even though I went into Shangyin (Addicted) for Johnny, I could not ignore what was transpiring right before my eyes. *because of the four he was the only one known to me* A genuinely beautiful relationship was developing. I didn’t just have to watch their interactions or their body language to know. It was there, plain, obvious and open for the world to see. 

This gif made me smile albeit bittersweet because it held such special memories. In many ways, these were the halcyon days for the Yuzhou ship. They were jubilant. All in good spirits, able to freely interact and joke among themselves. it reminded me of simpler times when everyone was carefree. Not stressing or worrying about how they should behave or what they can or can’t say. 

It really was like the domino effect. I noticed JY and ZZ both crossed their arms. Even as earlier as these interviews the connection was there and they were already pretty much in sync with one another. Sadly, no one knew what was soon to come. It may have changed the dynamics but it did not stop this fandom. 

Because Soompi ate the original post here is my second attempt which will vary from the first. Focusing on what you said @tea4two in response to one of my earlier posts. Thank you, your answer is as insightful as always and I appreciate your candid thoughts in regards to this matter.

Oh the irony, that their every effort to thwart the web series was an abysmal failure. What was once a small niche group has grown into a powerful international fandom. Good luck with trying to stop the unstoppable. While the competitors who reported the series were celebrating  congratulating themselves on their cleverness, they should not have so quickly dismissed the public reaction. What people believed to be the unjustified banning of not only the web series but its actors created what I can only call factions. These factions have become instrumental in the continued success of Yuzhou. Their dogged determination has diminished much of the ban's impact. So in a sense, it is not only the fans but the universe that also want the success of these young men. So making Shangyin a martyr of the ban has only created a more powerful fandom. Whether you are an Only fan, CP or CP with bias, there still remains a need to support Yuzhou and keep the addiction alive. 

 

Finally, I will close this post quoting from words written by @tea4two  “ But mainly, because I believe that Addicted is the combination of a perfect storm, from the casting to the banning.” and I could not agree with you more. This was indeed the perfect storm. The perfect combination at the perfect time. Even the universe is on the side of Yuzhou.  Although the ban felt suffocating so much of the time, it helped to create the Yuzhou we have today in this moment. So that is something to not only rejoice in but to  be proud.                                                                                    #forevercarryingthebannerofYuZhou#

MY GOD!!!! I WAS JUST LISTENING TO TROYE SIVAN THIS WEEK!!!! I watched his gig on youtube singing For Him and when this lyric was sung "You don't have to say I love you to say I love you", I immediately think of our Yuzhou!!!!!!! I'm planning to make a Yuzhou fanvid using this song but I don't have time at the moment. So happy that 5ML also knew about this song!!!!! Hope to see someone making a Yuzhou fanvid using this song. And now he's more daring.. He even tagged both of them now! I'm hoping that one day we can all use #Yuzhou tag one day!
