agreed. I think when the earthquake hit he felt like a real heel for having sent his people there and that is why he worked so hard to bring them back. His apology seemed genuine and he did not make her grovel for her job. in fact he gave her a very good position well suited to her skills instead of being the VIP doctor. I think the actor is doing a good job of making him seem like a human being. yes one with some serious flaws but not unbelievably awful which is what the dingbat surgeon is. I wonder if she is going to operate on our man and redeem herself?

It's not like the two can dictate terms to higher army officials to station them to places together...lol.

I think that scene of MY with the kids will probably be the next volunteer mission they take, like a follow up to see how things are in Uruk. Remember those pictures of SHK, Onew and maknae nurse at the airport wearing winter clothes. That's probably them leaving for Uruk -- I mean we just have to have another scene with Onew and his favourite kid from that blackey village. 

Which is probably how the series will end, with SJ visiting her in Uruk and them going back to the beach as a couple. Because technically though SJ came back to Uruk with that white pebble, they never landed up at the beach. And, the belief was that the white pebble brings a people back to the beach.

 

 

 @joongkyo i like what you said about YSJ being shot that serves as a dual purpose in a potential plot change. I do always see YSJ as a soldier although a part of me is hoping that him getting shot would also have him thinking of a less dangerous occupation. KMY may have already accepted that part of his life, but if he keeps on getting badly hurt like this, would she be able to stay strong?

I was kinda hoping that YSJ would consider being transferred to a non-special forces unit or be a training instructor similar to what SDY did. I think it may be too extreme for him to give up army life. It's soooo hard to guess what will happen next or even for me to identify what I would want to happen next. I'm a bit torn with playing the safe card where YSJ changes career, but at the same time I don't want him to do that. I also don't see KMY joining the army - I agree with you on that!

I just hope we get to see them happy and together and enjoying the tranquility of the Uruk beach that they visited before. Simply put I jsut want a happy ending for our sweet "fist-bump" couple.

I agree.  In that scene when they are at the movies, and it's not confirmed one way or the other who is older/younger.  He said she must know his age and asks hers, and she jokingly calls him oppa and then he wants to see her ID to make sure she's not a minor...so yeah. Either way, they are probably around the same age.

If that were the case (which I believe you when you say it is), then why bother showing Mo-yeon's birthdate and having Shi-jin telling the director his birth year and star sign? I just wish they just said who is older than who, I don't even know why this bothers me so much but it kind of does...I can't help it...

episode 13 has several scene of SJK using more of his left hand to hide his cast on the right hand  (SJK was injured during the running scene on the basement, cmiiw) , so i guess PD-nim/editors/KES might have made some changes from the original script. But i still love this episode (along with the PPL things  )

for those who asked bout the first A-list stars who refused the script, one of them was SHK's ex namja chingu aka Hyun Bin  (and my first reaction was: why on earth did he rejected it!!)

Yay!!! Looks like the holiday that KBS planned to send the entire team of DOTS has been confirmed. That means more pictures for all of us even after the drama is over. Hopefully SongSong will be able to make it since they're the people with the most problematic schedule adjustment, I think most of the other cast and staff will definitely be going!.

I am not sure has anyone point this out or not, but remembering Captain YSJ's words to KMY's omma that THEY will come together and meet her again officially when they're sober maybe can be another proof or point to ponder to calm us down that YSJ will survive the gun shooting so fighting everyone!!! Confession: I haven't watched episode 13 yet. And judging by the look of it, I don't think I'd be able to watch episode 13 and 14 before Sunday. Ugh... 

But, I've read your live recaps and your insights, as well as watched some clips that some of you have posted.

About YAI's cameo. I remember someone had already pointed out (I think it was @joongkyo) that there is no way he could be the MinGi Oppa that both KMY and YMJ were arguing over, because MinGi Oppa is supposed to be a Sunbae to both of them at the medical school, so he's supposed to be a Doctor, while it had already been publicized way before that YAI was going to cameo as a bank teller. But we still fell for it  

Talking about Oppa, it's still not clear if YSJ is the Oppa or KMY is the Noona, but one thing has always been clear to me: whichever it is, whatever his age is, YSJ (aka SJK) will always be an Oppa to me, bwaha!  (In Ahn Yona's style: "If you're handsome, you're my Oppa!") 

And and.. remember many many pages ago how some of us were fantasizing over the face-off between YSJ and the hospital chairman? So it finally happened in episode 13. I'm pretty sure the scene was somewhat gorier in our minds.  In our minds the scene had probably involved some taekwondo kicks and punches by our Cap'n, but of course it didn't go exactly how we imagined it to be because

1) YSJ is YSJ, always the perfect gentleman, and the reason why we love this character 

2) KES has always managed to throw an oddball at us; she managed to turn that douchebag of a chairman that we saw in episode 2 to actually be a sympathetic character (Ok, I haven't watched the episode yet, but this is from what I read in this thread)? Bravo.

I think the reason SYJ GET HURT is the writer think how to put SYJ in the place where Dr.Kang work . Because she Put Dr.Kang at SYJ work place before . Now his turn to more know abaut dr.kang work place and meet direktur and foxy girl who be problem for them .

Its better south korean still not cut the scene where yoo shi jin fight with north korean. huftt.. Its always okay with other fight korean drama, but why this one should be cut?

i really wanted to see the fight, how SJ and DY could be lose to 1 men. Its impossible for 2 person who actually secret soldiers, lose fight with one man. Grrr.. 

Btw, i just dont want to make dramatic worries. Because this is drama. Lol yoo shi jin will survive, as the main lead and the face of descendants of the sun. He will okay Chingus..

i'm with you. i'm ok with the PPL scene in ep 13. but i'm freak out with the PPL for kissing while driving special force style though. i'm feel confused while watching this ep without sub with sub but  enjoy it with sub.
 

since drama is kinda slice of life so i enjoy this episode although not much action going on. plot wise, it might be boring but character wise especially the main otp, show how much  their relationship and interaction evolve from a stage from past episode to other stage in this episode.
