Joo Sang-wook, Rhee Min-jung to Pair Up in New TV Romcom

Korean actors Joo Sang-wook and Rhee Min-jung have confirmed to take on the lead roles in MBC’s upcoming drama series.
The two stars will each portray the male lead and female lead of MBC’s new Wednesday and Thursday drama series “Devious Divorcee” (translated title), set to hit air after current series “Miss Korea” ends its run next month.
While Joo will take on Samaritan IT genius Cha Jung-woo who has both passion and compassion, Rhee will describe a woman with exceptional beauty named Na Ae-ra, who tries to re-marry her ex-husband Cha after the former IT geek earns huge success.
Through the switched-off drama, the two stars are each coming back to the small screen four months after KBS’s “Good Doctor” for Joo and nine months after SBS’s “All About My Romance” for Rhee, also her first project after married with actor Lee Byung-hun last August.
“Devious Divorcee” will be directed by producer Koh Dong-sun, who was acclaimed with successful TV series “Sweet Spy,” “Merry Mary,” “Queen of Housewives” and most recently, “Flower, I Am.”

The scriptwriter for the said drama is Choi Soo Young (최수영) who is also the scriptwriter of KBS drama "Inspiring Generation"...
It seems that Lee Ha Na collaborated with Choi Soo Young for the screenplay of "Cunning Single Lady"...

Joo Sang Wook and Lee Min Jung will be casting in a new drama called 'Ambitious Singles'.
Recently, Joo Sang Wook and Lee Min Jung decided to cast in new MBC drama 'Ambitious Singles' as 'Cha Jung Woo' and 'Na Ae Ra'.
'Ambitious Singles' will show a divorced couple meeting with each other again, and learning the importance of love, spouse, and marriage.
Na Ae Ra starts approaching her ex-husband, Cha Jung Woo, as he becomes a man of a huge wealth, and the drama will be showing the two starting to get more and more matured while starting their relationship once again.
'Cha Jung Woo' is a genius IT technology developer, who devotes all of himself to everything he does, and he will be coming back as a new 'king of romance-comedy'.
'Na Ae Ra' is a woman who got married to Cha Jung Woo for his potential, but she ends up getting divorced after going through a series of troubles after getting married.
Joo Sang Wook and Lee Mn Jung each casted in 'Good Doctor' and 'All About My Love' last year, and a great number of drama fans are showing enthusiastic welcome to their comeback news. Both of them have showed perfect teamwork with their partners in their previous dramas, and people are showing great anticipation for their new chemistry.
The production agency said, "We thought that Joo Sang Wook and Lee Min Jung were perfect people to play Cha Jung Woo and Na Ae Ra parts, and thankfully, they answered our call. 'Ambitious Singles' will be one of the most unique romance-comedy dramas on Korea."
Meanwhile, 'Ambitious Singles' will be aired as the sequel of 'Miss Korea'.

Actor Joo Sang Wook will join Lee Min Jung in MBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “Cunning Single Lady.”

“Cunning Single Lady” will follow after currently airing “Miss Korea.” Joo Sang Wook plays male lead, “sexy and single” Cha Jung Woo, while Lee Min Jung will play female lead Na Ae Ra, the afore-mentioned “cunning single lady.”

The drama is a romantic comedy, in which a divorced man and his former wife meet once more and learn the meaning of true love, true partnership and real marriage. Na Ae Ra is the single-again cunning lady, who decides to seduce her ex-husband, now a rich chaebol, while Cha Jung Woo is the now-successful ex-husband who wants revenge against her. The drama promises to be a delightful watch, as it chronicles the maturation process and eventual reconciliation of these two ex-lovers.

Joo Sang Wook’s character, “devilish guy” Cha Jung Woo, is described as being a humanitarian genius IT developer who possesses passion and drive, and considers human relationships to be highly important. Lee Min Jung’s Na Ae Ra believes in beauty over brains. She majored in engineering, got married to and divorced Cha Jung Woo. Now she’s just wandering around in life, so she wants to give her successful ex-husband another shot.

Joo Sang Wook comes into this project after doing “Good Doctor,” while Lee Min Jung’s last project was “All About My Romance.” Both have received praise for improving and widening their spectrums with each successive project. We’re just curious to find out how explosive their chemistry will be.

“Cunning Single Lady” will be directed by Go Dong Sun (“Me Ri, Dae Gu’s Attack and Defense Battle,” “Queen of Housewives“), while the script will be in the hands of writers Choi Soo Young and Lee Ha Na. It is expected to air after “Miss Korea” ends in February.
