Fact: The Bittersweet Life of Marriage

 

There's a little bit clamor going on in Youtube for the Taecgui couple regarding Taec oppa's answer on dare question number 2: Can you imagine more physical contacts with each other. Gui said Yes and taec said No. In the dark room interview it seemed that Taec oppa has been perceived as cold and uninterested, that left some shippers dissapointed, pointing that 'Gui deserved someone much better and etc.' But in question number 3 from G.O: You know you are in a faux marriage, but would you consider dating each other in real life? This time around, Taec was the one to say Yes and Gui Gui said No.

I think, there is nothing wrong with their answers: First in question number 2, Taec was being the Capricorn that he is: he's very cautious with his words and rather he seems to appear cold when he's speaking at all, or introvert that he is, he really doesn't know how to express himself well. Also. if he said Yes, he would have appeared as a pervert right? also, he's a christian, appearing reserved and gentleman and he expressed that they have already done holding hands and hugging, so he never thought of imaginging what has already happened, i guess there is abit of misunderstanding in here too, since it was only a compact..but in the full version someone pointed that taec added that 'let's see what more to happen next...' i mean at this point of time, their answers represent them real and genuine, they are not hiding and very realistic. I mean, culturally too, I think there has been differing perspectives on skinships. Also, people, we should give this two TIME ^^ they have barely known and everything happened in a short notice that i think both of them are confused too what's real and reel. I think in taec's case sometimes in the interview his heart is over ruled by his head, being level-headed, but everything spins and turns 180 degrees from logical when he's around with guigui. One thing is sure, every ep by ep, we are in a rollercoaster of emotions because of them: annoyed, happy, sad, bitter and etc. That is the life of marriage, there are happy times and good times...

For GUi Gui, i understand her saying No at the ques.3, she even consoled taec so much and asked G,O to ask the question again because she saw dissapointment in her yeobo's eyes. I know why she said that and i can feel it that she should have said 'yes' too but she was afraid that taec's answer would be no again so she kept a bit of self-preservation, also she is realistic too this time, pointing the location and how far away, it just it doesn;t occur to her that taec oppa would really go on pursuing her for real if given a chance, he asked her: really, you would go to taiwan?

I think in the end, their differences is what is making their marriage work for the better, slowly they get to know each other, how to handle each other, it's not an easy road, there are dissapointments, but what makes it happier and worth it in the end is because they have witnessed problems and hardships and misunderstandings at first.

I hope people would not bash Taec or Gui and say that that one deserves another...after all, let's support them both because they complete one another, good or bad ^^ Taecgui.

I think GuiGui and Taec's interactions are a perfect example of cultural differences, and is what makes Global WGM so unique and interesting. Taec is accustomed to being respectful and conservative, while GuiGui is more free and playful. Taec may come off 'rude' because he isn't use to GuiGui's behaviour which may not be 'acceptable' in his culture. I guess the more they know each other, the more they'll understand each others' way of life, and find that differences is what makes life so fun.

i think both of them are trying hard. emma is so cheerful and honest..and taecyeon is not used to girls like that. He is used to korean girls who are very cautious on screen, careful to show a good image of themselves and say only politically correct answers whether it is true or not. I don't think taecyeon is talking down to her. with emma, he knows he can't behave the way he is with korean girls. he is "finding himself" with emma and trying to loosen up but doesn't know how to. my 2 cents.

Ah,seems like they are progressing but it's so sad...Just when Tace will probably get comfortable with her and they are getting better,the show will end.

Hopefully they can extend this but there's contracts and schedules to worry about huh

On the other amusing side note: this weeks and other ep's week, fans are also voting for SEULONG, and if not taec oppa, they will root seulong for gui, or g,o for gui ^^ haha. i feel that way too anyway, and gui and kwanghee can be relly the best hilarious bestfriends ever! ^^

anway,Seulong is such a charmer: i'm having a bit of crush for him too, he is that sensitive and kind guy whose willing to listen around and is always attentive ^^

FAIR WARNING:  i do talk alot! 

Absolutely LOVE those stills of HongkiMina's wedding photoshoot!!!!   These two are so adorable...!!!  They give off that first-blush love vibe!  They have so much sweet moments its like watching two teenages discovering their first love.    Episode 6 was uber sweet.  Honki's special preparation for Mina!!!  :x :x  I swear if i were her i'd be so happy i would not be able to hide my happiness. The way he does these sweet things makes it feel like he really does love her!! such a thoughtful and kind husband he is.  ROMANTIC couple!!!  Mina is super beautiful, especially when she's smiling!   Lena Park's Song played when she was walking in through the lighted pathway to the Heart shape made of shoes!!!  i've always thought it Taecyeon and Gui Gui's song BUT mahn... IT is so PERFECT for these two too..and OH MY LIFE when he sang to her!!! i had to pause the clip so that i could contain my beating heart.  NOW that sort of proposal is stuff made of dreams. I love that Hongki sings with such passion and feeling that it feels so real!  I've come to conclude that he expresses himself so much more when he sings.  That is magical and i'm certain his working his way right into Mina's heart  and vice-versa. 

I've said this in an earlier post but i feel compelled to say it again.  I LOVE these two pairings!  nevermind the comments i read on the web saying that neither couples suit each other, or that the producers should have switched the couples or that one of the cast annoys them or that they don't feel the sincerity of the other's action towards the other.  I do not understand where these negativity is/are coming from! I like to go into watching a program with a clean slate so that i don't have any bias feelings or predetermined thoughts that could potentially ruin my enjoyment of watching a program/variety or show.  With shows like WGM,  it's best to approach it with that kind of attitude.  My enjoyment of the Global edition knows no bound!  I find both pairing adorable and unique. They both have very different approaches to showing their sweet sides.  It really is hard to separate the realness and the unreal feelings emanating from this show between the couples.

Taecyeon is more silent and very careful with the way he expresses himself.  I've watched the clips over and over again.  And each time, i'm more convinced then the last that he is such a very reserved type of guy that sometimes his actions may seem cruel or disinterested.  I find that he reacts in this way when he doesn't know what to make of a situation. Gui Gui is like from a totally different world. she's so carefree with everything.  She laughs when she wants to.  plays jokes and just seem like a big bundle of joy.  I think she represents something totally new to taecyeon and he is trying to tilt his world to somehow parallel hers. 

Gui Gui surprises him at almost every turn. lol.  i think she is just the sort of person to loosen up his very reserved image...   We do catch glimpses of who he really is during the making/behind the scenes video.  The small gestures that we see from him, his hands in certain videos, tend to be placed on her back or very close to her being, the unmistakeable blushes (primarily his ears...hehehe) that overcome him when he gets too close to Gui Gui.   The wedding photo shoots and stills released are so beautiful.  Those intense gaze, body gestures cannot lie.  These are all telltale signs!  i'd be a fool not to put more weight into it! My mind keeps telling "it's just for show" but my heart is telling me there could be more to just this! 

Episode 6 game of YES or NO was undoubtedly one of my favourites.  My heart skipped a bit when Taecyeon said YES to wanting to have a relationship outside of the virtual marriage. That felt genuine to me.  and Gui Gui, God bless her thoughtfulness, was only thinking of her oppa and how he may be too busy to even be able to travel to see her. 

I was reading the youtube comments on the reactions of how Taecyeon's interview made him seem so cruel when he said NO to physical contact.  I think he was stunned by the fact that GuiGui said YES and he did admit this.  I'm pretty sure he didn't mean it to sound the way it came out during his interview.  He did mention that he has hugged her, held hands and that he didn't need to "dream about it".  I know this is what caused such an uproar from a few.  When he said this, i felt that he is the kind of guy that does not want to rush head on into things with a girl.  i like that!  He mentioned that " it 'the physical contact' would come sooner or later". 

I think it's important to note that there is a high possibility that both GuiGui and Taecyeon may have totally different definitions of physical contact!  I'd probably give my best bet in that Gui Gui was thinking of physical contact more on the lines of more hugging, holding hands, probably back massage or having a feet rub whilst our Taecyeon oppa was thinking of a totally different kind of physical contact.   because he is that manly.   Did you see his eyes go wide, or his shocked appearance whenever GuiGui mentions anything physical or making of babies...hehehhhehehe

Guys are wired differently.  Therefore, they tend to think about things way differently than girls would.  As my father says, "Dreams are fantasies! that's all they are ever going to be".  Why would Taecyeon want to "dream about it" if he instead gets to hold her hand, hugs her like he says he does and has been doing in reality.  I'm just a little peeved that some watchers tend to judge so quick and end up sayings things that are hurtful to Taecyeon. PS: i'm not biased....yet!    

IF i knew how to put pictures in with my post i'd totally do it.. but i don't, so i'm trying to be as descriptive as possible.


PS:  EXTRA RAMBLINGS:
I was just rewatching episode 5 and there is this scene where Taecyeon was scared of the sheep.  I didnt notice it before, but Guigui seemed to have noticed his reaction towards these sheep charging toward them and tried to keep them away from him.  I find it so adorable that she, would try to protect her oppa...from sheep...lol..

Sorry for such a LONG LONG post.  I just love this show.  And all my thoughts have not been able to be expressed until today due to all the Tests and assignment dues last week.  It seems Saturdays is the only day i shall be posting my thoughts, views and how much i love these two couples.!!  Until next week my fellow friends!

hehehe.. I know right…! Every episode just keeps me wanting more from these two.  I was watching the making video of episode 1 (Eng Subbed) again and there is this segment where the Camera man asked Taecyeon oppa how he felt about the first meeting with Guigui.  He said ‘very good’ with a smile.  When further asked about his first impression of her, he said ‘very petite, like a cute puppy, that kind of feeling’.  He also mentioned that during the first few hours he spent with her he recognized her as one who was a ‘happy go lucky type of girl and very energetic.’  What he said next, had me grinning, he indicating that filming with her would be very interesting and full of surprises. All i thought of was " OH mahn you have no idea what your going to go through in the next episodes!"

He also mentioned that because of who Gui Gui is their marriage will be unlike other marriages and that they may not do things that viewers would expect them to.  Unbeknownst to him when he made this remark, that what was to come would render him speechless on occasions, make him blush like a teenager in the next, become utterly biddable with a single expression of word "oppa", teach his foreign bride how to speak his tongue and play dress-ups in embarrassingly cute pj's.  Their marriage is indeed Full of surprises. ;

I also love it when Taec oppa becomes protective.  It clearly shows throughout episode 6.  Especially when he stops his friends from demanding that Gui Gui kiss him one more time, he felt her nervousness and shyness. His reprimand of Kwanghee when he said “ I love you” in Chinese (or is that Taiwanese?), and not forgetting the Nickhun situation.

Speaking of Seulong and his potential state of being suitable partner with Gui Gui.  He seems like a very honest, lovable  and gentle guy.  And I’m certain he would do well with someone LIKE Gui Gui.  However,  i can't see him with Gui Gui now especially after watching,laughing, blushing  and witnessing the budding romance of Taecyeon and Gui Gui.  There time together has indeed created memories that could potentially lead to something more, possibly beyond their virtual marriage.  Expecially memories like- the visit to the mountain and play in the snow, their mad dash through the snow because Gui Gui pulled her “oppa” pout and puppy face look to have him go with her outside for a minute, the remake of popular scenes from drama's, the cooking scenes, the wedding photo shoot scenes, the piano love/romance scenes sigh! :x   Those puppy eyes, cute genuine smiles and lovable petite package named Guigui has got him so whipped.  I shall end this post with what Gui Gui said to her oppa in episode 6 "YOU ARE MINE OPPA".
