Lee Jong Suk Completes the "Court Avengers" of 2017

Lee Jong Suk joins the roster of SBS drama main characters to complete the "Court Avengers".

In 2017, SBS dramas play a lot of court actions. Main characters of the drama "Defendant", "Whisper", "Suspicious Partner", and "While You were Sleeping" are prosecutors, judges and lawyers.

First of all, there is Park Jung-woo, a prosecutor at Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office. One day, he wakes up and finds himself a convict on death row. Suffering from temporary amnesia, Jung-woo has no idea what transpired to land him in prison. He struggles to recover his memory and clear his name. He escaped from jail with the help of the prison guard and found his daughter Hayeon. Ji Sung played the leading role in the drama and escaped from prison, leading to a superb performance of the drama, with ratings reaching 30 percent.

In the drama 'Whisper', which was broadcast on the 27th of last month, Lee Sang-yoon is in the middle of acting as Lee Dong - joon, who was a judge. He joined alliance with Shin Young-joo (Lee Bo Young) to uncover the corruption at the nation's biggest law firm Taebaek.

This courtroom atmosphere leads to another drama, "Suspicious Partner" which will be broadcast on May 10 following "Saimdang Light's Diary". Ji Chang Wook will play the lead role of Noh Ji-wook, a prosecutor in the Central District Prosecutors’ Office who ends up switching professions to private attorney. He harbors a trauma stemming from an event in his childhood involving his parents and first love.

In the case of "While You were Sleeping" which is set to be broadcast on September, Lee Jong Suk plays a role ofJ ung Jae-chan, a 29-year-old rookie prosecutor. He lives with his brother. Despite appearing to be cold and doesn't enjoy joking, he is still foolish in some aspects. His hobby is taking selca, but refuses to take selca at home without washing his face. Jae-chan looks at Hong-ju with disdain. Despite Hong-ju's ability, he will do everything he can to prevent Hong-ju’s dreams from coming true. Coincidentally, Lee has served as a talented player in seven years since his debut as a prosecutor in the debut drama, "Prosecutor Princess" in 2010.

An SBS drama official said, " SBS provided a lot of fun to viewers in 2016 through the doctor's character in "Doctors" and "Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim". This 2017, judges, attorneys and characters of these sort will appear in our drama. There are plenty of other interesting characters in the drama. Especially, drama is a court case, but as it draws a completely different story, I hope that these characters will also unfold different charms." she said.

Thus, the "Court Avengers" of SBS drama can be seen in Defendant, Whisper, Suspicious Partner, and While You were Sleeping.
