jerebtang
My Review for "The Thieves", 12 October 2012 Watching a movie is never tough, as I always have the same excitement and eagerness to do it. Always watching Western movies whenever I am in a cinema, this has always been my trend in my life. A culture, isn’t it? I feel differently when I am in front of the cinema screen, watching the movie, ‘The Thieves’. The movie screen shows the flip-flop of the main cast as well as their own respective character names. I am wondering when Kim Soo Hyun or Zampano will appear during that time. Finally, he appears with other character on the wide cinema screen. Before showing the first scene of the movie, I am in curiosity to know Zampano’s whereabouts. Where? When? How? Is he first appearing, with other casts or otherwise? It makes me wondering. With my patience, I have to endure and wait until he first appears. There he is….. He is on a spy mission with his members. His minimal actions can blend with others so well, that it’s so-like an action thriller movie. He provides a minimal function, in assisting with others such as Popeye, Chewing Gum and Anycall. The atmosphere is a mix of comedy and actions. Frankly, since I was a boy, I have rarely watched such spy-flick action movie. This time, I am in surprise to know about the future development of the story while watching the movie. Zampano is the youngest member in the mission, and I doubt he can handle it well. But, I am wrong; he can do it smoothly, when he is adjusting the wire for letting Anycall shifting across the buildings. I really love the first action scenes, cooperated among the members, especially Anycall. She sounds like a female version of Tom Cruise, doing stunts along the 2 hours 15 minutes movie. She can handle her role well, with her unique slim bodyline and flexible skill. Alright, from the male perspective, I would think Zampano can’t really handle his mature role well. In contrast to this, this is the first time he is in such a great action movie. I will give it a pass, but I am in no hesitation to say out loud about his hairstyle in the movie. Yes, I am criticizing his untidy, long hair. I would think he can change his hairstyle a little, into some more different. Currently, I cannot think of it. However, I love the scene when Zampano is in Macau, when he is doing some push-ups in an old building. I can’t help myself to look at the interaction between Anycall and Zampano. Just look at the first reaction shown by Anycall when she saw Zampano doing push ups! Also for the kiss scene between them! It seems Zampano fall for her for a long time, but she was on the other way round. All characters include Zampano have their own way to live up the movie. What I mean is living up in a jovial way…The best scene is when they are on the mission to steal the ‘Tear of the Sun’ necklace in Macau casino. Unexpectedly, Zampano is confronted by a gay man, during that time; Anycall is also in the pub. I will not say anything about it since I will spoil the story for those who haven’t watched the movie. I would think Zampano’s significant part of the movie is when he is in the pub. In addition, I didn’t know his character is from a Korean-Chinese background. He knows how to speak Mandarin. Kim Soo Hyun had done a great job in memorizing as well as pronouncing the words correctly. With some Korean accents when speaking Chinese, I will say it’s alright. I can see Kim Soo Hyun as a hardworking man. Most of the scenes for Zampano are with Anycall. Despite being different in their heights, I had witnessed Jeon Ji-Hyun’s talent acting, well-matched with Kim Soo Hyun’s natural acting. This can be shown when they are on the scene when Zampano smelled Anycall’s body scent. This is making me laugh even more. On the other hand, the most touching scene is when Zampano managed to save Anycall from the casino workers before he is being caught by them. That is the most touching and Zampano’s last scene in the movie. Although Zampano is insignificant in the movie, at least I can see his role as Zampano being made contributions in the movie. Why on earth that I feel odd when I am watching the movie? I always feel that I am watching a group of good people who are on a spy mission. In fact, there are a bunch of thieves who are doing the same thing as the one that I mentioned previously. Haha... Zampano is somewhat a baddie similar as others. He is a young thief. And it is odd to watch the whole movie about thieves. But, my mind outweighs my odd feelings. I love the uniqueness of the movie. I love the theme about a group of thieves striving for their own goals. It’s great to watch a movie that I have never watched before. It’s a great opportunity for Kim Soo Hyun to be in a movie, especially filming with international movie stars. I love the multiple languages that are present in the movie. It’s just a seamless movie which cut across borders for the people around the world to watch it. Hope the current top grossing Korean movie can be held recognition, by receiving more awards now and in the future.

jerebtang
I haven't noticed about this news article. Lee Jun Ki mentions about Lee Hwon, linking to Kim Soo Hyun. Wishing them to be in a drama, but seems unlikely.http://www.soompi.com/2012/02/20/lee-jun-ki-i-wanted-to-be-hwon-from-moonsun/ class="content-title"Lee Jun Ki: “I Wanted to Be Hwon from Moon/Sun”Joonni February 20, 2012In a recent interview with tvN’s Enews after his first fan meeting post-army release, actor Lee Jun Ki revealed that he would have liked to take on the role of “Hwon” in the currently airing hit drama, “The Moon that Embraces the Sun.” Kim Soo Hyun is currently playing the role of the fictional Joseon king. When asked by the reporter about the dramas he watched while in the army, Lee Jun Ki replied that he watched “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” with a lot of interest. The reported suggested that Lee Jun Ki would have been made a good “Hwon” to which he replied, “Thank you, I actually would have liked to play the role.”
