  The upcoming drama ‘City Conquest‘ is scheduled to hold a press conference in Japan.

  Scheduled for 7PM on October 4th at Japan’s famous venue, Budokan, the large-scale showcase event will host nearly 16,000 Japanese fans along with an estimated 400 reporters from media outlets such as NHK, TBS, and FujiTV.

  In particular, television station NHK has assigned a ‘documentary team’ just for the drama, proving that the drama starring Kim Hyun Joong is attracting considerable attention.

  The press conference will include appearances by Kim Hyun Joong himself, co-star Jung Yu Mi, and other drama representatives. Special promotional footage will also be revealed during the event.

  In addition, the showcase event will also include the 1 year anniversary celebration of Kim Hyun Joong’s fan club.

  Meanwhile, the upcoming press conference is prospected to help ‘warm up’ the currently chilly relationship between South Korea and Japan, all the while playing a part in further spreading Hallyu culture.

Here's an update posted yesterday pertaining Kim Hyun Joong's up coming drama City Conquest and in celebration of Hyun Joong's fan club to be held in Japan on Oct.4. This is a good news as we will have a chance to take a glimpse of Hyun Joong at last after over a month in the hiding!! But as Hyun Joong said, we should not complain since he is in the process of preparing for City Conquest promotion. Here's that news.

A production report conference for the drama series City Conquest will be held in Japan.

On October 4 at 7:00 p.m., a production report conference for City Conquest will be held at Budokan, inviting 16,000 fans and 400 reporters from such major media sources as NHK, TBS, and Fuji TV.

NHK is especially paying close attention to City Conquest, organizing a special team to create a documentary for the series.

Kim Hyun Joong, Jung Yumi, and the crew will participate in the production report conference. A special event to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the foundation of Kim’s fan club will also be held.

In addition, a promotional video for the series will be shown for the first time, and Kim and Jung will introduce the drama series.

This production report conference is expected to relieve the tension between Korea and Japan and promote cultural exchange between the two countries.

Finally, we'll get the chance to at least watch Hyun Joong very soon, that will be next week.  A fan asked me, how long are we going experience such boredom?? Before I can reply to her I got this news and send it her yesterday! At least this is sooner than the first schedule of appearances Hyun Joong will have on January. At last, I'll be able to watch him walking at the airport lobby to fly to Japan again, as my favorite scenario and video clip to watch!! This is all I can say, it's high time Hyun Joong has to get out of his cocoon and I honestly do hope City Conquest would make a lot of noise and we fans at the internet I think has to help each other in making that noise even louder.

Yesterday as I was browsing I came across a write-up dated July 26, 2012, that I would like to react. Although the name Kim Hyun Joong was not mentioned in this write-up, but since Kpop and Korean wave was mentioned which Hyun Joong is tagged as Kpop idol I would like to rebut and share my opinion pertaining this write up. Here it goes.

The day of K-Pop's demise is getting closer. Whispers have begun to leak out of Fuji TV, one of the driving forces behind K-Pop in Japan, saying, "We cannot get ratings with this at all," signaling a beginning in the dismantling of the Hanryu.

Starting with the scandal of actor Takao Sosuke criticizing Fuji TV for creating the Korean boom by force in Japan, unpleasant feelings towards the wave as well as K-Pop started forming, centered online. With these feelings growing stronger, K-Pop acts KARA and Supernova saw their concert in Hyogo prefecture cancelled due to poor ticket sales. Even still, TV networks are trying to push the "K-POP BOOM" as always, but it's getting to the point where the lack of popularity is becoming hard to hide.

Finally, talk from within Fuji TV itself lamenting the lack of popularity of K-Pop currently have leaked. "Now if a K-Pop idol goes on a TV show, honestly the numbers seem to fall. KARA and Shojojidai's decline in ratings is not as bad, but those groups with names no one knows have a real problem with ratings. Their staffs seem greatly perplexed. It seems that the day that K-Pop and the Korean Wave won't be heard from again is coming soon," said one Fuji TV employee.

As this authorized person said, it's been clear that TV shows have been pulling back on K-Pop related programming. For example, last year's "Natsu ga Kita!! HEY! HEY! HEY! Odaiba 'Nama' no Uta Matsuri" special featured multiple Korean idols groups, both popular artists and unknowns. However, this time the only one appearing will be Tohoshinki.This year's "FNS Uta no Natsu Matsuri" will also not be featuring Korean idols.

One person related to a major network said, "Asahi TV, who does 'Music Station' recently decided to distance themselves from K-Pop. Besides the necessary Korean artists, they won't be allowing K-Pop idols on the show. They just don't get the ratings, and the network is getting flack from viewers online so it has to be like this."
There are quite a few artists aiming to have a hit in Japan, but it seems the situation has gotten stricter.    ~END~

I already felt some irregularities during the time Hyun Joong launched his album Heat, that I thought I was just imagining things, that news about his success was being or trying to suppressed by the Japanese media. His album Heat was sold out in Tokyo, but there was no news about it, until Hyun Joong mentioned it in his interview before his concert in Saitama Arena started. This is not hearsay, I read a news that the news from Japanese media was indeed suppressed during the time Hyun Joong kept hitting the Oricon. But did not succeed since there were a number of international media at Hyun Joong's tail and released the news of Hyun Joong's success.

Although in this write-up it did not mention the name Kim Hyun Joong, but considering Kpop was mentioned and Korean wave was mentioned I can't help but rebut to this write-up since Hyun Joong is one of the Kpop artists. With all due respect to the writer of that blog, if this write-up was posted at the internet, then I get the same right to say my piece since this is my blog therefore I can express whatever my thoughts are.

This write-up made me even think and conclude how insecure the Japanese celebs are. This Japanese actor Takoa Sosuko who criticized Fuji TV for airing Kpop and for creating Korean Boom. I would like to say Mr.Takoa Socuko is the top notch INSECURE actor I have ever read!! Is he now trying to put up negatives on Kpop artists? Why? Is it because he knew that Korean dramas are much much better than his, that he could not accept it? With all due respect I would just like to ask those questions.

If the Japanese government allowed the Kpop idols to market in Japan, why would this actor deprive the Kpop artists, and I mean it all of the Kpop artists to have their chance and trying to conceal their success. How would I be expected to believe such write-up if we have seen with our own eyes how Hyun Joong being a Kpop idol made a huge success in July, that not even their own Oricon record would deny as he top the rank and swept away Yamapi who is a Jpop idol. Why can't this Japanese actor and the TV network mentioned in the write-up to play it fair and square, instead of suppressing the facts about the success of others?

This is just so frustrating that made me think, considering that actor is also an artist and a veteran one, who does not have a heart to the young artists regardless of their nationality. He should be one to encourage, to inspire and support the rookies. But what was he doing, destroying the future generation of showbiz world? He should site the good example and maybe he will even be able to win his popularity for being unselfish to the young ones. May I beg your indulgence my dear readers but this is getting out of hand. I think everyone is entitled for a chance, these young artists has to start from somewhere, why would they be deprived?

And to those anti-Kpop, we have our own individual choice whom we want to support among all artists of different nationalities. What do you care if others may support the Kpop artists? Why does it bother you? Can't you just at least respect other's choice? Did any of the fans of Kpop ever cared whom you liked? In short, maybe it would be better if mind you own business. If you dislike the Kpop, then fine, what do you get out of criticizing others? I'm just asking, may I just clarify.

There are thousands of Japanese fans of Kim Hyun Joong in Japan who are overly eager to see him sing and dance on stage, they are so eager to watch his dramas and I would like to say, these fans will do anything in their power just to see Kim Hyun Joong. The more the news about his success has been suppressed, the more they are likely to go against these negative moves.

This write-up and suppressing the news, these I think are desperate moves of losers. I'm already having this impression about the Japanese media and this senior actor who's trying to take control. I wonder if this is the same guy whom I watched at YouTube complaining about the airing of Korean dramas who looks cheap in his accusations. These people can do whatever pleases them even to the extent of destroying others. But I would just like to remind these people that "you can never put a good man down."

Just a good example, I was assuming Japanese TV network may be hesitant to promote his album Heat, and so Hyun Joong came directly to his fans at Odaiba to meet them in person to acknowledge and thank them for their support. Can the Japanese TV network deny that huge crowd? Can they deny even their own record at the Oricon? Can they deny the Japanese fans who attended his concert in Saitama? As I mentioned in my recent article this news can not be kept in the treasure chest and throw it in any side of Japan sea. The truth will always prevail.

I believe the fans of Kim Hyun Joong are resourceful and I believe we fans are good in spreading the words, we can just keep active at the internet in posting about Hyun Joong's activities. Being the fans of Kim Hyun Joong, these are the challenges that we have to face since Hyun Joong continue to boost his popularity. Knowing this guy, he will do anything to reach out for his fans. Many of Hyun Joong fans are very active in sharing and posting updates, photos and videos of his every activities. I'm proud of these fans that I'm so thankful to them in keeping us updated, and surely would continue doing so in the upcoming events for Hyun Joong's City Conquest.

Well aliens, we have now a new insect from a different species which is quite unexpected but we have to live with them! We don't simply give up without a fight of course, and I think the best way we can do it is by spreading the words of Hyun Joong's event activities and spread the words about his success. We just have to make sure that every single fan is being informed about his activities. Ignore the negatives, and turn them out into positive. I'm simply bringing up this matter about that write-up just for awareness to all of us about what is going on in Japan in terms of Kpop popularity and that includes Kim Hyun Joong as a Kpop artist.

Anyway, the Korean media and other international media are aware of what is going on, they are aware of Hyun Joong's every activities, so I would assume the Japanese fans and so with us international fans, would be well informed about the events. No local TV coverage? Fine, the internet is always there to provide everyone's needs, and besides other international fans would only be just around watching Hyun Joong and the Japanese fans from afar. If there's a will there is always a way. No one can deprive Hyun Joong's fans in supporting him, no one can control his growing popularity not only in Japan and so with the of the countries worldwide.

My dear readers I know some of you would like to read good news about Kim Hyun Joong, but I can not lie about reality, that I would just like everyone to be aware that such things do happen in Japan or even from other countries he had visited that we may not be aware of. But then bad intentions never succeed or if it does, it will only backlash to the person who have such intent. A tree that bears good fruits is likely to be stoned down.

There is no doubt Hyun Joong is one of the hottest Kpop star and he is bound to be envied by others. This is natural in showbiz or to any successful profession. As always we fans shall defend and protect the Prince, while we keep our love and support to Hyun Joong. We start spreading the news about Kim Hyun Joong and we start posting this news about City Conquest and its activities in Oct.4 in Japan, making sure that every single fan is being informed worldwide.

I strongly believe that Hyun Joong's Japanese fans are matured and they can not just be persuaded by negatives and believe such write-ups. And I strongly believe Kim Hyun Joong is still bound to gain more fans as time goes. Once the Prince Conquer a heart, it stays within his magic spell and no one can break that spell...

Drama "City Conquest" set to hold large-scale press conference in Japan

Set to be making a drama comeback through the production "City Conquest," Kim Hyunjoong is scheduled to hold a large-scale press conference for the drama on October 4th. Introducing his upcoming drama, Kim Hyunjoong, along Jung Yumi and the rest of the cast, will meeting fans for the press conference, which will be held in Japan's Budokan. 

16,000 fans will be able to witness the event, along with 400 members of the local press including representative from NHK, TBS, Fuji TV, and many others. It was also revealed that NHK is interested in making a documentary of the drama and will be sending their team to attend the event. 

Aside from the press conference, Kim Hyunjoong will also celebrate the 1st year anniversary of his official fanclub at the event. The first full trailer for "City Conquest" will also be aired exclusively at the press conference.

都市征伐についてのブログを昨日書き皆さんにコメント頂きましたが、どの方も韓国での撮影スタートが遅くなっていて心配なされていたようですね。

色々と理由はありますが、やっと撮影再開されました！

今日はアクションシーンの撮影でヒョンジュンくんは顔から血が…もちろんドラマの中なのでケガされたとかではありませんよ。

最近涼しい日が続いていたのに撮影日に限って暑いとは…

撮影も順調にスタートをきっているので、皆さんにご覧いただくのもそう遠くはならないはずです。

According to CEO of Trend Beaute (who supported City of Conquest drama shooting in Edo village in Japan) wrote in her blog that CCQ shooting started again today. 

For miscellaneous reasons, the shooting was suspended, but it eventually restarted! Today, action scenes were shooted. Though with blood running down on his face, Hyun Joong did not get hurt .... just for shooting. Today was very hot (in Korea) though it was getting cooler these days... 

It will not too far that you will be able to watch the drama as it started again. 

PS She attended yesterday in the editorial work of the drama teaser which will be presented on Oct. 4 on the occasion of Press Conference & the 1st anniversary event of Henecia Japan.

These past days what I've been doing is to go over with by notes of interviews digging from my treasure chest about Kim Hyun Joong's story, this is normal every time Hyun Joong is in the silent mode.Other fans who are active in updating about him do the same thing as I do and share his old pictures. One of the veteran fans Ms.D shared an incident coming from the producer of BOF saying among the F4 members, it was only Hyun Jong who called him to express his gratitude in giving him that chance to portray the role Yoon Ji Hoo as his first role ever in his drama project. (Thanks Ms.D)

The drama BOF shall always be a memorable for Kim Hyun Joong as his first acting project. And same with me here, that I always mention in my articles, that BOF will always be my favorite drama and the most memorable one. As the producer Song Byung Joon said it was only Hyun Joong who called him up just to say thank you for the chance given to him. Hyun Joong will always be indebted to those who were there behind him to help him bring out the best in him. Gratifying others is another natural virtue that Hyun Joong has in himself that he never forgets other people behind him.

Actually it's not only the producer of BOF that he called to thank, Hyun Joong also paid a visit to the director of BOF, as another sign he does not forget to go back to those whom he humbly owe in giving him a hand, even you may it's their job as director to assist Hyun Joong. It's no wonder no one among his co-artist or people whom he worked with would criticize him. That it seems everybody is his friend, and I have seen this even he was still with his group, he was also a friend to other idol groups who may perceive as the group's competitor yet he treats them with equal respect whether his junior or senior co-artists. I think this is another thing we fans can be proud of our idol Kim Hyun Joong.

As I was going over with my note pad, I came across some of his words that caught me up again as Hyun Joong stated,

"People think I'm playing when I don't have activities in Korea, I've been working throughout the years."

"For my up coming drama, I need to work harder doing gym that is why I work out effectively, my body shape now is the best in my history."

Few days ago, I read an old write-up that says, Hyun Joong's way of preparing for his drama is body building. I think what I can share is what normal artist does when he's not seen by public on the regular basis but not particularly Hyun Joong, but 90% of artists in all countries. If you are a regular reader of this blog site I'm sure you have read my articles Artist's Agent, and Stage Life that talks about responsibilities of an agent and activities at the back stage during a show concert.

This time I'll be describing an agent as an artist's training ground. An agent company is not just a booking office for artists, it is also equipped with facilities needed by an artist as his training venue. And this applies to Korean agent too specially their government supports the Korean Wave as a part of their tourism schemes as spread the beauty of Korea. The government requires specific facilities where artists can be trained and licensed trainers.

As a training ground, the agents has their own dance instructors, choreographers, musical directors and acting coaches. The agent has their own dance studios, recording studios, gym, class rooms and facilities for acting class. These facilities may be at the same building where the agent booking office is located which big agent company like KeyEast, SM and other reputable agents provides. The government requires these facilities before agent license can be provided by the respective government agent.

Their managing artists are obliged to attend to their training classes regularly as if they are students going to school on daily or regular basis. Whether an artist is an amateur or a veteran, if they are an artists of that agent, then they are obliged to attend to their training. This does not exclude active professional artists, they too are obliged to attend the classes for their talent enhancement program. Whether they are on the process of doing a project the agent is responsible in assisting their artist on their respective projects.

As Hyun Joong was saying he doesn't stop all year round. Hyun Joong may have busy schedules but I'm sure on period when he's not in his exposure, he's attending to his training, whether in singing, dancing or acting class, he is obliged to attend to those classes specially in his case that he is so passionate in improving himself. And even before his script for City Conquest landed on his lap he has already been a regular visitor at the gym provided by KeyEast, which I think he has been doing since Breakdown days. But as soon as he got City Conquest, he was provided with a rigid body build training program that even on his busy schedule he sets time for his daily training program.

I remember in one of Hyun Joong's interviews during his filming for Playful Kiss, he was saying he has to improve his memorization and pronunciation since at the filming of Playful Kiss, the scripts were given to him at the same day of shooting a particular scene. It must be stressful to anyone of course. Hyun Joong stated that he hoped the system in filming dramas would improved in terms of preparation and I can only guess he made that system changes at City Conquest for having an ample time to work on his script before the actual filming. I also remember in Singapore he was asked if he fell in love during the filming of Playful Kiss. Hyun Joong said, "I can't think of falling in love because I was busy memorizing my script!" That was really hilarious as someone laugh at his back!!

Since City Conquest is an action drama, Hyun Joong went to an acting school for action stars and stuntmen, learning different fight choreography as a part of his preparation for this drama. Then he has a regular session with his acting couch who focus on Hyun Joong's acting lessons and script reading. You can just imagine doing this on daily basis while in preparation for Heat launching. As expected Hyun Joong had changed his image from the boy next image to a real matured man. In his interview in China here's what Hyun Joong stated as he was asked about City Conquest:

KHJ:  " For City Conquest, I had to get rid of that smooth next door looks. I t will be more tougher rugged image. What I say a role with more attitude. My feelings are towards that so far. Fans who's expecting a smooth image will be disappointed! I want to be able to give and show a new image. I'm working hard to do that, I hope many fans will be contented and supportive of this new character. The personality is more tougher and rugged and more edgy. I have been working hard practicing on getting the character right."

As we all know Hyun Joong brings that character with him even off cam, if you can notice on how his attire goes to a more carefree style which suits him. We have seen some of his stills as Baek Mir during his filming in Japan, a fight scene rolling onto the ground, we have seen him driving a pick up truck, a scene with his friends looks like having a great time drinking enjoying like a simple commoner and a romantic scene showing his soft side from a tough rugged man. But still Hyun Joong looks handsome no matter what he does, even having dirt in his face, he still looks awesomely handsome!!

As I'm writing this article, somebody from the twitter posted that Hyun Joong had resumed filming of City Conquest, taking an action scene having a blood stain on his face, of course that's only make up! The filming re-started yesterday and let's just hope there will be stills to be released again! Something just popped in to my mind, I remember the first time that Hyun Joong related about City Conquest, I think it was in Singapore interview, as he said the plot of this drama had been laying in his apartment for some time before he finally decided to do this drama. He was thinking if he role Baek Mir would fit him!! He got it and work hard for it.

Hyun Joong mentioned in his message to his fans that he has been preparing for City Conquest promotion and an album to be released next year. I'm already assuming he'll be singing the OST, hopefully we can have something new to listen to from Hyun Joong. Then come this October 4, we shall see how far the filming goes as in this event it was said in the news that stills from City Conquest shall be shown. This is again another feast to look forward to having 16,000 fans to attend. It shall also be a celebration of Hyun Joong's fan club first anniversary to be held in Budokan Tokyo Central in Japan.

Hopefully by that time on Oct 4, we can have news as to what TV network this drama has to be shown. For me it doesn't matter where, whether it'shall be shown on local TV network or cable, I'm very sure Hyun Joong fans will go hunt for it. A fan wrote in my comment box yesterday and suggested to using VIKI.COM and according to her it only needs 10,000 followers and viki.com may provide the desired drama. Well, I think this is a good idea, what have we got to lose we can even watch other dramas from this site while waiting for City Conquest. Hyun Joong really worked hard for this drama, it's been two years since his last project Playful Kiss, his come back drama is very much anticipated by many not only his fans. Hyun Joong was pretty excited in showing us the drama teaser and we have seen from his picture during the filming how happy he was working with the other casts. For me, the most part from this drama that I would like to see is the Geisha part!! I can't help but smile every time I see his picture in that Geisha costume that he really looks so beautiful in it as it!! I may not have the least idea what's the drama all about but seeing from the pictures of the filming, I think we will see a part of him as the real Kim Hyun Joong 's wackiness!!

Seeing the Prince happy working on this challenging drama makes me happy knowing why he is doing this and striving hard, it's for us his fans to have something new to be Looking Forward to a brand new actor, Kim Hyun Joong.
