“Pieces by Rain” is Rain’s first EP in three years and will drop on March 3. Rain’s management explained that the title of the album refers to the different pieces that make up the singer.

Rain courted for upcoming drama ‘Ghost Doctor’

 

Multi-hyphenate star Rain is in discussions to make his small-screen comeback in the upcoming series Ghost Doctor. A representative from his entertainment company Sublime Artist Agency confirmed the casting news and said, “The new drama Ghost Doctor is under consideration by Rain.”

 

Ghost Doctor is described as a television project that will combine supernatural elements and medical show basics into one series. It will reportedly be helmed by The Heirs’s Boo Sung-chul and penned by Live Up to Your Name’s Kim Eun-hee. Apart from its main makers, no further details about the drama, including Rain’s offered role, have been revealed.

 

Rain (born Jung Ji-hoon) is a music, film, and television artist who made his entertainment debut as a member of the boy band Fanclub in 1998. While paving his way as a musician, he tapped into a different gear and made his acting debut with a main role in the 2003 KBS2 drama Sang-doo, Let’s Go to School, which earned him multiple distinctions. It was in 2004, however, that Rain’s fame continued to rise, allowing him to make his mark in the industry as a Hallyu (Korean wave) star. During that year, he starred in the hit romantic-comedy series Full House, one of the dramas that helped propel the global popularity of South Korean television shows. He was last seen playing an ace lawyer in the fantasy series Welcome 2 Life (2019).

World renowned singer/actor Rain in talks to return to dramas after two years!

On February 5th, reports stated that Rain had received an offer to star in the upcoming drama titled "Ghost Doctor." A representative from his agency confirmed the news and stated that Rain is positively considering  starring in the upcoming drama. 

 

"Ghost Doctor" is a combination of the medical genre and... ghosts?! The drama will be directed by Boo Sung Chul who also worked on hit dramas such as "The Heirs" and "Jang Ok Jung". The script will be written by Kim Eun Hee who wrote "Live Up to Your Name". 

 

If Rain accepts this role, this will mark his return to dramas since 2019's "Welcome 2 Life" with Im Ji Yeon and Kwak Shi Yang.

 

 

Rain revived his career and was considered one of the hottest stars in 2020 after his song "Gang/깡" came back on the music charts in May, and the dance associated with the song also became very popular with the public. 

 

Followed by his appearance on the variety program How Do You Play?, which led to the success of his temporary group named "SSAK3" with Lee Hyo Ri and Yoo Jae Suk. Rain also started an online show together with Lulu Lala production titled "Season B Season" that garners hundreds of thousands of views every upload. 

 

He also ended the year with a collaboration track "Switch To Me" with his former boss Park Jin Young, JYP Entertainment's CEO. The track is loved by many and even topped music show broadcasts. He also hinted that in 2021 he plans on collaborating with another singer to release a new track.

On the 22nd of February, Rain unveiled a concept video of the title track “WHY DON’T WE (Feat. Chungha)” for his mini-album PIECES by RAIN through his official SNS channels.

 

As the said video opens with a phone ringing, Rain and Chungha can be seen on the screen fiercely staring at the camera. The two demonstrated their powerful charisma with one look, heralding perfect chemistry.

 

The groovy melody in the second half of the video also caught listeners’ ears in seconds, raising anticipation for Rain’s upcoming album. The artist is to exclusively pre-release the highlight choreography and song for “WHY DON’T WE” through his official TikTok account at 6 p.m. KST on the 22nd. Ahead of the mini-album comeback, Rain decided to create a dance challenge on TikTok as a new way to enjoy the song with fans around the world. Rain Reveals His And Kim Tae Hee’s Home, Explains Why He Usually Eats Out Without Her, And Dances With Chungha On “The Manager”

 

 

On the latest episode of MBC’s “The Manager,” Rain gave viewers a glimpse inside his everyday life!

 

The singer appeared as a guest on the February 27 broadcast of the popular variety show, where he revealed the first floor of his home and his car for the first time on television.

 

During the episode, the celebrity panelists marveled at the footage of Rain’s spacious home gym, which was equipped with a large-screen TV, a piano, and lots of exercise equipment.

“This is the first floor of my home,” he explained, as the panelists squealed, “So [your wife] must have been on the second floor [while this was being filmed]!”

 

 

In addition to Rain’s weights and Kim Tae Hee’s pilates equipment, the first floor of their home also turned out to house a sizable wine cellar—as well as the couple’s trophy collection, which displayed the numerous awards that both stars have won for their work in the entertainment industry over the years.

 

“So you two put your awards together!” exclaimed the panelists. “That’s so cool.”

After working out at home, Rain headed to the dance studio to practice with Chungha for their upcoming collaboration track “WHY DON’T WE.”

 

While watching the footage from the studio, Rain shared that he had been impressed by Chungha’s talent while working with her. Praising the younger singer, he remarked, “I knew Chungha was a good dancer, but I didn’t know she was this good. I was really shocked by how good she was.”

 

 

Later on in the episode, Rain talked about his hobby of scouring the city for the restaurants that served the most delicious food.

 

“In the past, I was so into finding the tastiest spots to eat that I even ate five meals in one day,” he revealed.

When the panelists asked why he didn’t bring his wife Kim Tae Hee along, he replied, “We can’t go together. My wife and I have very different eating patterns. My wife is the type to be content with eating just about anything. She’s happy with eating just a bowl of soup. I, on the other hand, tend to eat a lot. I want to eat lots of different things: meat, fish, and so on.”

“I do occasionally take her out to eat,” he went on to clarify, “at places that accept reservations.

But the hotspots that I eat at don’t take reservations.”

If you've ever been to a Korean fried chicken restaurant like Bonchon, this is the pickled radish side dish that's served alongside the fried chicken. Radish is LIKELY SAFE for most people when taken in moderate amounts. Taking large amounts of radish can irritate the digestive tract, though.  The high sodium content of most pickles may be concerning.....
