For a top star, SHK seems to be really humble, kind and generous to everyone, especially her staff and her co-stars. She is always putting others before herself and giving credit to her co-stars when her dramas do well I apologize for cutting your post, oaklove, but I just would like to reiterate the above statements! As SHK fans, we may not know her personally and may never meet her in person, but what made me a fan are the above mentioned qualities! Beauty and character! Overtime, for 4 short years that I have been a fan, I came to admire the above qualities and her perseverance to better her craft and most of all her inner strength! Why else would I look for anybody else? I am here to stay!

But actually this was discussed in the SS thread as well, I know because I was the one who translated the content from this show and the other being the grapevine show. Anyways, really important announcement for Kyonatics. Please spread the word to others! I may never visit Korea anytime soon, but thank you for the heads up! Really appreciate your effort in disseminating this concern!

Popular Post smiletall
So @hclover96 provided some additional Q&A's from the W magazine interview which I believe were not included in the online article I previously translated. It seems that these were additional Q&A's from the actual article published in the magazine. Thought I could share here Again... Please keep this in this thread. Do not take out without permission or proper credit. Thank you! --- Q: What was the biggest lesson you learned? A: I've known director Wang Kar-wai for a long time and was curious about his work style. I was also curious about the shooting environment of Chinese actors and staff. I can't specifically point out and say what I learned, but I observed many new things. As I traveled a lot, I felt the way I viewed the world gradually expanded without even realizing, and so it was an experience which allowed me to change/grow. I also experienced a thirst for acting. Sometimes I would wait to film for a week, but wouldn't be able to film even one scene in the end, so it planted within me a thirst to act freely. The project I entered after [t/n: The Grandmaster] was <That Winter the Wind Blows>, and I think I was able to have the best focus because of it (laughs). Q: Out of the whole day, what is the time you like the most? A: When the sunlight shines lazily around 3pm, I like to open the windows and listen to music and I feel myself becoming more peaceful. If I take a nap during the day, I think I sleep even better too. Q: In dramas, it seems a bit better, but in movies it seems difficult to find female characters that are charming and realistic. Male-centric movies as a genre also has become a trend. A: I think it has been this way for quite a while now. As such, many actresses have turned to dramas. There also has been constant discussion concerning the lack in quality of projects or roles for actresses, but I don't think that's enough to fix the problem. I think the people who make these projects must also have a reason. Male actors have attendance power as many of the viewers are female. But if a variety of genres/projects came out, actresses could also be included and new roles would be challenged. Q: Your appearance in your recent movie <My Brilliant Life> was very fresh. A: Two sons... (laughs) That's right, it's because I was essentially raising two sons. The story was more focused on the son and father relationship, but the supportive role of the mother was also fun. Q: It was the extreme opposite of the previous film <The Grandmaster>. A: I knew it was a small role but chose the project on director Wang Kar-wai's recommendation. In the end, it took 4 years. It was a much longer time than originally anticipated, and so even if good projects would come in from Korea, I couldn't participate, and so it was a bit upsetting/unfortunate at times. Of course I was happy to be able to work with a great director and actors, but it was a time when I coexisted with happiness and suffering. [t/n. the rest of the answer is cut off.] Q: It was a drama that was 100% pre-produced. How does it compare to filming in real time and seeing the response live/in-person? A: I think filming was more fun while getting live feedback. I think we would have been able to feel the response more through the ratings on set and share in that feeling with the staff. This drama received so much love that it would have helped make the environment lively and fun enough that the hardship would have felt lessened. In that sense, it seems like a shame. As an actor, I think having a project half pre-produced seems good. It was a easier on my body and it was nice that I had more than enough time to consider my character, but because of location we had to shoot the episodes/scenes out of order, so it was sometimes hard to chase after my character's feelings. Q: Relatively speaking, if you participated in a drama that didn't get high ratings, do you think you still would be as confident as you would be after experiencing ones that did well? A: Wanting to look better, to pop out more, having the need to gain something--I think if I was a younger actor, I would be more distraught with lower ratings. But when I reflect back on that mindset, I don't think I felt a large responsibility towards acting or my character. But now, I feel responsibility and I focus on the entirety of the project. My popularity and the need to look good for somebody is no longer a goal of mine. I don't just consider my own results, but also that of the male protagonist, the supporting actors, sunbaes and hoobaes. It's because we all work together as a team that if there is a positive end result, I am happy as a team member. --- Thank you again to @hclover96 for providing the source!

Popular Post IrisFM
Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo Rank Top For Brand Power Among Actors kminjungee June 12, 2016 Spoiler These “Descendants of the Sun” co-stars continue to make great wavelengths in the entertainment industry. According to a recent report, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo ranked first and second place, respectively, for brand power among actors in the month of June. From May 10 to June 11, the Korean Business Research Institute gathered 34,875,645 pieces of data from 17 different well-loved actors in order to come to this conclusion. Brand power normally analyzes consumers’ actions to measure participation value, communication value, media value, community value, and social value. For this list of actors’ brand power, social value was not measured. Song Joong Ki’s score showed a 49.48 percent increase from last month’s score. Meanwhile, Song Hye Kyo’s score indicated a 42.51 percent increase from last month. Gu Chang Hwan from the Research Institute comments, “While Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo placed first and second for brand power among actors, Cha Seung Won, Song Kang Ho, Choi Min Sik, Ha Jung Woo, Yoo Hae Jin, and Hwang Jung Min showed the greatest increase in brand power. We conclude that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo maintain their positions as first and second through the many CFs they currently star in, following the end of ‘Descendants of the Sun.’ We also came to the conclusion that the downward trend of brand power is slowly increasing once again.” Source (1) http://www.soompi.com/2016/06/12/song-joong-ki-and-song-hye-kyo-rank-top-for-brand-power-among-actors/ ..... Popular Post khxy
Fan's account on Pink ribbon marathon in Gwangju "I heard about the possibility of Hye Kyo gracing the event around 2 am in the morning, not knowing whether the news is true/not, i decided to head to the event. But i realised that i was the only one who didn't know about it because once i got off from the bus, everyone (young or old) knew that she is coming today.Reaching the right side of the stage,i kept looking at the tent, i was thinking maybe she would sit there just like the last time round. So, i went over to the left side and lady luck was on my side because she was sitting there. Everyone was exclaiming how beautiful she is but i was restless. Hye Kyo kept looking around and as i wanted her to know that her fan is here, i brought along the pink ribbon from the last event.Upon seeing the ribbon, she uttered out " ah?" and then she smiled and looked at me tenderly, i melted. At first the security was tight and did not allow any photo taking so i just 'appreciate' her with my eyes.I kept staring at her , it's as if her face was going to disappear, she is really really really really beautiful. The pictures of her don't do justice to her beauty,of course she is beautiful on the pictures but today she is just too beautiful. She kept smiling, she is really too beautiful. There were so many people around, everyone kept praising how she overly beautiful she is "Just like a genie, i feel like throwing my camera away, her face is so small etc." All adjectives to describe beautiful have been used by everyone, and as a fan i couldn't help but felt proud. Not long after, the host asked Song Hye Kyo to go on stage and the reactions from participants were exceptionally good(young and old) (everyone was shouting :beautiful beautiful). While on stage she said "i always want to participate in marathon but i do not have the courage to do so. All of you are so cool because despite of the hot weather, you still decide to join the marathon." When asked regarding secret to her beauty, she shyly said that she maintain well. After mentioning Laneige and putting her donation inside the box, she got off from stage. She went to sit at under the tent, and at this moment everyone was busy taking pictures of her. I saw her 2 years ago since then i miss her a lot, i needed to look at the screen when taking her pictures furthermore my camera resolution is bad,so i would take turn of taking her pictures and look at her with my eyes. Hye Kyo was looking at me when i raised my camera, as if letting me take her pictures, she smiled at my direction and 'posed' for a while.I was recording & taking pictures in excitement , while she kept looking at me without moving. I still want to throw my camera away because quality of the pictures are bad. A child went over to shake her hand and whenever people called her name, she would smile.Soon, she left the tent to cheer on the participants, wherever she went there's always a 'wave' of excitement. As there were too many people, i couldn't follow her.I don't know what are your feelings when watching the videos but her smile could melt anyone. I went home with all the warmth i received today." credit: SHK dc and weibo
