Lee Yi Kyung will reportedly lead the new K-drama from Channel A called Get Married YOU (working title).

On January 8, media outlets shared that Lee Yi Kyung has been selected to lead the new K-drama Get Married YOU.

Lee Yi Kyung's agency hasn't responded to the casting reports. 

The actor is currently starring in the ongoing K-drama Marry My Husband with Park Min Young, Na In Woo, Song Ha Yoon, Highlight's Lee Gi Kwang, and Gong Min Jung. He is currently portraying the role of Park Min Young's character's present husband.

If Lee Yi Kyung confirms his casting, this will be his return to the main lead role after several years. Lee Yi Kyung has been playing second lead and supporting roles in his past works. 

Aside from acting, Lee Yi Kyung is also active in the variety industry. He is currently a fixed member of the programs Hangout with Yoo, Brave Detectives Season 3, and more. He will also join He will also be the MC of the upcoming YouTube program Jeonyeokja. 

 

Lee Yi Kyung is best known for being part of the K-dramas Secret Royal Inspector, Children of Nobody, Partners for Justice, Go Back Couple, Eulachacha Waikiki, and more. 

 

 

The upcoming K-drama Get Married YOU will tell the story of an unmarried civil servant named Jeong Ha Na who was moved to the "marriage fraud promotion team" which was created so that Bong Chul Hee, a bachelor who does not want to settle down, could get married.

On January 10, it was reported that Jo Soo Min, Ji Yi Soo, and Koo Jun Hoe will join Lee Yi Kyung in the upcoming Channel A romance K-drama Get Married YOU. Lee Yi Kyung and Koo Jun Hoe's agency responded to the reports and shared that they are reviewing the offer. 

Get Married YOU will revolve around an unmarried civil servant named Jeong Ha Na who was moved to the "marriage promotion team" created so that Bong Chul Hee, a bachelor who does not want to settle down, overcome his aversion to marriage.

Lee Yi Kyung, iKON’s Junhoe, Jo Soo Min, and Ji Yi Soo may be starring in a new drama together!

Earlier on January 8, iMBC reported that Lee Yi Kyung and Junhoe are in talks to star in Channel A’s upcoming drama “Marry YOU” (literal title). In response to the reports, Lee Yi Kyung’s agency SANGYOUNG ENT and Junhoe’s agency 145 Entertainment similarly shared that the actors are reviewing their offers to star in “Marry YOU.”

iMBC further reported on January 10 that Jo Soo Min and Ji Yi Soo will also be joining the cast.

“Marry YOU” is a matchmaking romance story about Bong Chul Hee, an island bachelor who meets all the requirements to avoid marriage. The drama depicts the struggle that unfolds as civil servant Jung Ha Na, who doesn’t believe in marriage, is dispatched to a “Marriage Encouragement” team that was formed to send Bong Chul Hee off to marriage.

Lee Yi Kyung is in talks to play the role of Chief Bong Chul Hee, who is perfectly capable of doing everything. Currently impressing on “How Do You Play?” and his new tvN drama “Marry My Husband,” viewers are already excited for Lee Yi Kyung’s next project.

Junhoe, who recently starred in “Twinkling Watermelon,” is in talks to play Choi Ki Joon, the team leader of the Marriage Encouragement team that Jung Ha Na becomes a member of. He’s a flawless character who isn’t lacking in any aspect including career, personality, and looks.

“Marry YOU” is a comedic family drama that follows the romance between Bong Chul Hee (Lee Yi Kyung), a bachelor from a remote island whose life goal is marriage, and Jung Ha Na (Jo Soo Min), a level 7 civil servant who is determined to stay single.

Lee Yi Kyung plays Bong Chul Hee, a kind-hearted man from the island village of Cheongdo. He is known for doing various jobs in the village and raising his twin nieces on his own. After meeting Jung Ha Na, he begins to see marriage as his new life goal.

The teaser gives a glimpse of Lee Yi Kyung fully embodying his character Chul Hee. He evokes laughter with his adorable perm, flashy clothes, and great sense of humor. Channel A’s new weekend drama “Marry YOU” (literal title) has released a new poster!

“Marry YOU” is a comedic family drama that follows the romance between Bong Chul Hee (Lee Yi Kyung), a bachelor from a remote island whose life goal is marriage, and Jung Ha Na (Jo Soo Min), a level 7 civil servant who is determined to stay single.

The newly released poster features the warm and lively chemistry between Bong Chul Hee and Jung Ha Na. Bong Chul Hee is a jack-of-all-trades in the island village of Cheongdo who raises his twin nieces Bong Ba Da (Ahn Tae Rin) and Bong San Yi (Seo Woo Jin) on his own. One day, he encounters Jung Ha Na by chance, which leads him to adopt marriage as a new life goal.

On the other hand, Jung Ha Na is sitting down in deep thought in front of the gate. Jung Ha Na is a staunch advocate of non-marriage, but due to a certain incident, she is assigned to the Marriage Promotion Team and is given the significant task of ensuring Bong Chul Hee’s marriage.

The text that reads, “You can stay single. I will get married,” heightens viewers’ curiosity about the love story between the two people who have opposite views on marriage.

Turning over a new leaf from his stint as a good-for-nothing spouse, Lee Yi-kyung (Marry My Husband) is now stepping into the shoes of a good-natured prospective groom. In Channel A’s upcoming comedy Marry YOU, an island bachelor is struck with a new life goal when he meets a lady he dreams of marrying.

Affable, earnest, and guileless, Bong Chul-hee (Lee Yi-kyung) is a man who’s as warm as a fireplace. Nicknamed “Chief Bong” for his versatile skills and eagerness to help out anywhere he can, Chul-hee’s smile is as bright as the pastels he wears and the flowers he carries. Alas, there’s one pesky problem plaguing his otherwise pleasant life — he’s so awfully lonely. Cue cartoon tears and shriveled leaves falling down.

 

To remedy his ailing heart, Chul-hee joins a gathering of single people looking for marriage. With their resumes in hand, the participants match up, and Chul-hee excitedly prepares for his first date. Until the record-scratch moment, that is. Chul-hee’s idea of fashion is pairing a green floral print dress shirt with a pink patterned tie, and khaki chinos to match. *cringes from second-hand embarrassment*

Thankfully someone stages an intervention, and Chul-hee makes it to the restaurant in simpler (and much more presentable) wear. Except it all goes up in smoke the moment he opens his mouth. Which celebrity are fishermen most afraid of? “Bae Chul-soo,” snickers Chul-hee, since “bae” is a homonym for “boat” and “chul-soo” is one for “pull away.” HA, I have to admit I laughed. (Dad joke enjoyer here!)

Too bad the distraught peanut gallery is right — his date is nowhere near enthused. Chul-hee doesn’t fare much better at his next attempt, either. Which road is only open to fishermen? Chul-hee’s answer is a Hanja proverb that can also read as “fishermen’s geography,” while his second date answers his uproarious laughter with an incredulous silence.

Will Chul-hee be able to reel in a fiancée to walk down the aisle with? Or will he net nothing but disappointment? The recruitment of Jo Soo-min (Penthouse 2) into the team is sure to make waves, not least because she’s the level 7 civil servant Jung Hana who doesn’t want to marry. But most importantly, she’s the one who hooks Chul-hee’s heart. Hopefully, he’ll prove himself a great catch.

Helmed by PD Yoon Yeo-chang with scripts by Lina and Kang Young-hwa, Marry YOU is slated for a November premiere.

The latest teaser opens with a glimpse into Bong Chul Hee’s daily life. From sea jobs to household chores, he skillfully handles his responsibilities, earning praise from the villagers for his diligence and talents. However, as the camera zooms in on his confident smile, a voice-over narration reveals, “However, Chul Hee has his own struggle: marriage.”

Concerned that their uncle might remain single forever, Chul Hee’s twin nephew and niece, Bong Ba Da (Ahn Tae Rin) and Bong San Yi (Seo Woo Jin), decide to take matters into their own hands. They’re shown making a call to none other than Jung Ha Na, who answers on the other end. Will Lee Yi-kyung be able to Marry YOU

The latest teaser for Channel A’s upcoming comedy Marry YOU features its leading man Lee Yi-kyung (Marry My Husband) as eligible bachelor Bong Chul-hee. As a jack of all trades, he can do anything except one thing which also happens to be his ultimate life goal: getting married.

Known as the “fixer” in his small country town, Chul-hee’s influence reaches every inch of the neighborhood. He can cook, beat up thugs, and even catch flying fish with flair. No task is too small or too difficult for Chul-hee, and thanks to his many talents, all the townspeople love him.

 

However, even for this seemingly perfect man, marriage proves to be a challenge. Enter Chul-hee’s twin niece and nephew to solve his problem, and the text on screen reads, “Will you marry our uncle?”

The twins decide that it is finally time for them to step in and play cupid for their single uncle — literally shooting him with an arrow and turning him red. They worry that he will not be married even when he turns into a grandpa, and their concern seems warranted since Chul-hee freaks out when a woman holds his hand.

Thus, these little munchkins call the “marriage morale boost team,” also known as civil servant Jung Hana played by Jo Soo-min (Penthouse 2). Unlike Chul-hee, though, Hana is against the idea of marriage, so it will be interesting to see these two opposing forces meet. The teaser ends with the question, “Will our uncle be able to get married?” and Chul-hee’s nephew breaks the fourth wall with a joke, asking his uncle if he is filming a drama. Of course, the answer is this one.

Directed by PD Yoo Yeo-chang with scripts by Lina and Kang Young-hwa, Marry YOU is slated for twelve episodes and premieres sometime in November.

The newly released teaser begins with a narration that states, “Bong Chul Hee is at the age for marriage, but he can’t even dream of it and lives with his twin nephew and niece.” However, Mayor Lim (Woo Hyun) is keen on getting Chul Hee hitched to secure his re-election. He assigns Jung Ha Na to the task, promising her a transfer to another department if she succeeds.

Although she is determined to stay single and remains skeptical about the value of marriage, Ha Na visits Chul Hee, only to feel discouraged by his cynical views on marriage and his somewhat intimidating appearance. Chul Hee humorously remarks, “How can this boost people’s enthusiasm for marriage? It’s just a marriage scam. Isn’t it just a scam?”

While caught off guard by his bluntness for a moment, Jung Ha Na quickly regains her composure and vows to herself, “I will get Bong Chul Hee married no matter what.”

Upcoming drama “Marry YOU” (literal title) has unveiled new character posters of its four main cast!

“Marry YOU” is a comedic family drama that follows the romance between Bong Chul Hee (Lee Yi Kyung), a bachelor from a remote island whose life goal is marriage, and Jung Ha Na (Jo Soo Min), a level 7 civil servant who is determined to stay single.

The newly released character posters, styled as marriage application forms, give a glimpse into each character’s perspective on marriage.

Lee Yi Kyung plays Bong Chul Hee, an innocent bachelor who develops a new life goal of marriage after meeting Jung Ha Na. When asked, “What’s the most important thing in marriage?” Bong Chul Hee answers, “Responsibility,” highlighting his mature and steadfast approach to life.

 

 

Jo Soo Min portrays Jung Ha Na, a civil servant with a strong anti-marriage stance. Her poster notably stands out as the only one with “No” selected under the “Do you want to get married?” section. For the question, “What’s the most important thing in marriage?” she answers, “The right to get married,” piquing curiosity about what she believes qualifies someone for marriage.

 

 

iKON’s Junhoe takes on the role of Choi Ki Joon, the team leader of the marriage promotion department that Jung Ha Na is a part of. Choi Ki Joon is the ideal “golden boy,” with a perfect personality, manners, and looks. When asked, “What’s the most important thing in marriage?” his answer, “A trustworthy relationship,” reveals his thoughtful and serious nature when it comes to relationships.
