  1. This drama might be the first drama in which I put a lot of attention to the dialogues. The recent one that hook me is Sang In's dialogue, in which he explains to MY about how she should not numbering people as number one , number two. Liking people is like color, there are many kinds formed from a color. But one color doesn't degrading other color even though it's different.

I'm really bad at explaining but I hope you all understand what I mean:huh:

KT. I can relate to him a lot since I lived with someone who has mental illness too. Surpressing feeling, wanting someone to die, loneliness in childhood.. watching this drama makes me feel like I'm not alone and all those feelings are normal when you go through something abnormal in your life:heartxoxo:

  2. I think this drama is more about SY struggle to do his revenge to Jangga and less about love triangle.

His relationship with both SA and YS, is more like partner(?). But I'm still open to any (maybe) love story in the upcoming episode, haha.

I love YS's characteerrr! She is so strong, independent, strong-willed, tho she's rebel and sometimes too blunt it hurts other but she knows what she's doing and want to reach in life. Moreover, i like her ombre hair a lot

For SA, I understand if she chooses to continue to work at Jangga. She has great carreer there and she needs money for life too. But I hope she will help SY more to grow his business later. She starts to look disagree with JDH decisions lately and I hope she will choose to work in SY business later, she will be a great help for him :P

hi ladies, long time no see @packmule3 @phikyl

i enjoy do bong soon too, it's so silly and very funny, i always laugh so hard when watching it:D

for me it's quite 'light' drama.

and about the genre, rom-com + mistery? i haven't see the clear connection between this cute avenger and the bad guy theme, i just don't get it :blink:anyway the kidnapper is creepy. 7 brides? heol. and what has he done to those ladies?

  4. I see many members are already moving on. Accept the bittersweet ending as it is, have no problem withdrawing themself from this drama. But here i am still stuck in a conclusion of unfair and cruel fate which god gave to KS *cry at the corner*

I can't accept KS is immortal but his bride has to be reincarnated till her 4th life. I can't accept KS has to wait for her bride for hundred maybe thousand years until they go to afterlife. I can't accept KS has to be lonely again this world. I can't accept KS being immortal but his bride will get older and die at certain age. Some part of me want to rewatch this drama again(i always do rewatch after the drama has reached its final, but only for a few that i consider 5-star-drama) but again those unaccepted things hold me up from doing it. The ending broke my heart.

Yes i agree the ending is beautiful. KS and ET meet again, she still has her memories. What i don't like is, there are still many variables in their happily ever after. No clear closure. I guess i prefer a clear ending which will surely give the couples happily-ever-after life and no any other cruel fate to face that we already know from the beginning. But now I can't figure out what their future be like.

I've been keeping it for days while i reading some of your posts trying to find some enlightment about the ending, to make me feel better even sincerely accept the ending, but it's still hard.

I also wonder why i feel like this and so hard to accept as it is. Then i read your post and found the answer @packmule3

    Spoiler

How you view the finale reflects your own perspectives and biases on suffering and fate/destiny.

For me, people who readily accept this kind of doom for Shin and ET are PASSIVELY accepting fate. They see Shin/ET’s suffering and they are resigned to it. It’s “fate” after all.  "It's bittersweet." We can’t do anything about it. That’s how it is with reincarnation. "The ending shows that lives and fate cannot be changed."  That’s how KES wants it. So be it… Amen

With this kind of ending, what I've been told myself to feel better is i wish one day KS will beg his god to give immortality to ET. Or KS beg to become mortal. Or beg to go to afterlife with ET without her has to be reincarnated again. I wish KS will do something about his fate given by god. I wish he will create his happy ending by actively asking to god. But then again, it's only wishes and i can't see these good things coming from the last episode.

Reading your post @packmule3 and i think I'll try to take a 'detour' to see the ending from other pov. @maryofbethany @CatWhiskers @phikyl @nearsea

Sunny died of old age illness, it is written on her death card.

She moved, and grew old on her own without contacting GR.

When she died (age 68), she went into tea room at around the same time (age 68).

My take on how Sunny entered the room: they did not get an 'old' actress for just 1 scene. So, they got a person who is old to 'enter' the tea room, and only filmed back scene. When Sunny entered, she is shown as her young self. If you observe the other tea room scenes, if the people have met in the dead person's earlier life, they transform into the younger version. For example, Canada boy with a hat who became really old, Goblin came to say goodbye to him in tea room. He was shown as younger boy too, if I am not mistaken.

So Sunny is depicted as 'young Sunny', but actually she died at age 68.

Aaah okay i understand now:) I never understand the name card, no subs on it too.

So she lived a lonely life after leaving?:bawling:

I think ET came back after 30 years.. between the reaper and sunny's death and when  Shin saw their reincarnated entities, not much time has passed I think and we didn't see any text regarding the year either. So may be it's secretary kim in his 80's, just like the grandfather.

Edited : okay i get it now.i get it after second watch:D @fikachuuu

CEO scene appeared not long after GR-Sunny went to afterlife. So by adding 30+ years in his 30+ or 40years(when he's appointed as CEO) so he must be in his 70s.

Then, KS leaves his house and meet GR-Sunny. They are in their 30s. So 30+ years has passed from CEO scene.

The KS meets ET in canada.

  7. The ending is sweet but also sad.

Sweet because KS and ET meet again. Starting new.

Sad because KS will still live his immortal life but ET not. ET will die again and KS has to wait for her reincarnation again, for how many times we don't know.

This part...makes me unsatisfied. KS still has to face many loses ahead. Lose her mortal bride. Have to wait again and again. Not a fair ending for KS.

  8. My first post in this week.

first i apologize for them who tagged me in many posts. i'm sorry i couldn't reply it one by one.

My brain has been in 'comatose' condition for k-drama since last week:crazy: maybe it's running out of memories. plus, i have so much thing to do in office. Work and end year evaluation keep my mind trapped between analysis, sending mails, meetings, achievement, self-score:crazy:

But i do read all of your post. dear sister @maryofbethany thanks for tagging me in every post related to God, fate, forgiving, buckwheat. I always read it immediately after you tagged me:) but my brain were having difficulties in creating responds :vicx:please keep tag me in your 'preaching' (you name it, right?kekeke)

@packmule3 hi maaam..or should i call you..master? your archangel post is lit! The writer indeed inserting many bible-related-things in this drama. not only principles like free-will, blessing in disguise, love, forgiving,  but also angels. someone did quote the bible verse which contains the angels name in it, i think it's @maryofbethany right? thanks for quoting since i have bad memory i wonder where i could find those angels in bible(see how bad it is? gabriel is the most recognizeable though!).

    1. We all know that the King perpetrated atrocities more monstrous than suicide. His greatest sin was MASS MURDER.

Shin kept on reminding the audience in this episode: “My soldiers, my young sister, my innocent family—they were slashed with swords and shot with arrows before me. On command! Because of one word spit out by a young and foolish king!” (source: dramabeans)

And this: You killed, and killed, and even killed yourself. Your woman, your loyal subjects, your Goryeo, even yourself—you could not protect a single one of them!” (source: dramabeans)

The slaughter of innocent lives is infinitely more morally repugnant than the taking of one’s own life. These two crimes – massacre and slaughter -- are NOT morally EQUIVALENT. There’s no civilized society, Reapers’ World included, that will view suicide as a greater evil of the two.

    Massacre > Suicide

Just think of Hitler. He exterminated innocent people, too. When his commanders deserted him, and the Allied forces had surrounded him, he decided to shoot himself. Please don’t tell me that when he reached the pearly gates in heaven, St Peter said, “Heil, Hitler! Your greatest sin is suicide.”

Do you see the ABSURDITY? He slaughtered innocent people and his greatest sin is still his own suicide?

NO. That would be a travesty of justice, and the souls of the innocent victims would cry out for justice.

I’m totally aware that KES could choose to write such nonsense if she wanted to. But if she did, then I won't abide by her sanity and ethics for rest of the show.

For me, the gravity of the Reaper's sin (greatest sin is suicide) DOES NOT even come close to the wickedness committed by the King.

a sudden thought came into my mind while i write this post(i didn't plan to write this long!).

according to your last post, King's biggest sin is mass murder. i question myself, what is the biggest sin according to bible?

so, in goryeo dinasty, King can considered as god. people see the King as if they see their god. even WY stated it himself.

    Spoiler

No one but the king could be regarded as a god to the people of Goryeo, Yeo had stressed, which is why he declared Shin a traitor. Sun was left shell-shocked, and that’s when Eunuch Park appealed to the king to punish Shin for his crimes by taking his life.

    cr: dramabeans

WY made his royal decree which was to kill KS. WY killed KS in his name

i'm doing a searching and found out that the biggest sin of all is comitting evil in god's name.

See how that align with what WY did?

committing evils's in god name stated in third of the ten commandments. The third says " Do not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain"

this was what WY did to KS, to Queen, to KS's family.. committing the biggest sin.

@annchan @crazyoverkdrama lol at your imaginations:D meanwhile i'm waiting for their next groceries shopping

Anyone up for a rewatch of episode 18 this weekend?

Saturday January 14th at 10pm KST

    @packmule3 @salz @romanov @CamelKnight @thesunset @crimsonanonym @hyuki4ever and anyone else that I've forgotten to tag.

Does that date/time work for you?

I apologize for the late notice. I thought I posted this yesterday but it seems I never hit submit. :sweatingbullets:

oh no, i missed this post @phikyl

But i couldn't too since i had appointment last night.

  10. Dang!! This episode is so intense, full of emotion. Sadness. Bitterness. Revelation. Sacrifice.

Sunny-GR final break up, sunny choose to not choose GR again in present life. She learnt it. Im so saaaddd watching this scene. What a terrible fate for them:bawling:

GR biggest sin revealed. Suicide. Just like@LyraYoo said, this part also remind me of bible. Life itself is a grace from God. He created us, give life, so we ought to keep it, do our purpose in life. Human life belong to the almighty so we shall not, in any form, try to end it ourself. I trust @maryofbethany to explain about it more:)

So it's clear now. PJH just show up now because he's been waiting until ET's birth mark started to fade. When the birthmark fade, she loses her ability to see ghost, and PJH has the chance to possess ET's body and pull out KS's sword so KS will die.

But what makes ET's birth mark start to fade away?

She found her purpose in life?

    She's near to death?

  12. I am confused.

When KS comes to olive chicken to pay that 5 dollar, Sunny acts as Kim Sun. She remembers her past life, apologize to KS for not living happily, even ask KS to come often to her store from now on.

But when KS comes at night to ask GR whereabout, Sunny acts as Sunny. She even says 'do you think I'm really Kim Sun because i remember my past life?'. And then she doesn't answer KS question.

It's contradictive from what she said before.

    Why does she do that??

Does she 'dump' her orabeonni again, and easily just like that?i think a normal sister who had just remembered her past life which had close relationship with her brother, meet her brother again after 900 years, won't do the same thing like that.

Her behavior, responses, seem too weird for me. Like she becomes another person. Her character changes drastically and it doesn't make sense.

I like how he decided to invite her to his room. "Sleep in my room" must be the funniest pick-up line ever if said by an ugly guy. It's just so happen it matches the actor Park Bo Gum and the character TK. It sounded innocent.

But if another guy said that... say... oh think of any ugly guy... your first reaction will probably be grossed out.  "Yuck! No way. I'd sleep out here in the lobby instead."

    Context matters.

When i first saw that, i was like 'how dare you invite a girl to sleep in a same room..' But then followed by 'ah it's okay since a guy like you can be trusted and probably have no other idea than to offer kindness' haha

I guess I'm up until here, need to wake up early tomorrow. See you guys again tomorrow, in this thread, or Goblin one. Please tag me again on the next rewatch:)
