me... I need a durian gif for occasions like this...
Did you like Beijing? My sis lived in BJ for a while. She hated the winters there. We only visited her when it was warm. I love the Summer Palace best among all the historic places we visited.

Maybe you can start a durian cult here, who knows?
I liked BJ when I stayed there, not long after 2008 Olympics. Everything was nice there; even media censorship was loosen up a bit back then. But after I left I heard the city became heavily shrouded with haze. Then there goes a whole lot of restrictions on the entertainment industry and internet speech. It saddens me.
I actually prefer cold and dry weather in winter there. It is not that cold if you compare to the regions in even upper north.

Are you watching other stuff like variety or non-K stuff?
Yeah, anime - My Hero Academia, finished off the 1st season on netflix last weekend. But too caught up with work to binge-watch it in one go. Also started the first episode on Detective Yuri Rintaro with a Kyoto backdrop that I like. It only has 5 episodes so if it turns out not okay I still would not waste too much time.

“Why did you sign up for soompi? And how did you find out about soompi?”
The buzz of the K drama forum in my native language I frequently visited for 5-6 years died down. So I had to be flexible and search for live-watching discussions in English instead. I don't even remember when I joined the forum here until I looked my old record up. It was 2014 but I have not been quite active until this lockdown.

Especially when there is no Kdrama that can interest me currently....

I wonder if SG allows licensed physiotherapists to adminstrator accupuncture on patients... cos it's recently became legal for them to do so in my city.

the 1st time I saw snow was in Korea .
My first time seeing snow was in Beijing. As someone growing up in the sub-tropical SE Asian weather that is a rare sight.

I remembered there's a lot of people in this thread from Malaysia.

Cha Li Won bottled tea is my savior during my travel in PH last year. It is only available in 7-11s but not the supermarkets there. The PH drinks are generally too sweet for my liking.

What happened to my box gift sending function
EDIT:
@Hanyeoun I occasionally encountered this when sending out the boxes. What would be the possible reason?

Well, well, well....
I made some calculations.....
If there's a 30% chance of winning, that means that the probability to win at least once when playing 5 times is 83.2%.
If I play the game 10 times the chance of winning at least one time is 97.2%
The probability should be pretty high to win at least once, yet I didn't win once when redeeming boxes 10 times. The probability for that was only 2.8% ! Seems other people are having the same issue too.
Just sayin'

Late thanks to @cenching @alleram95 @wallflowersforjane @Lawyerh for your gifts.
Still have like 8 pages to catch up. It's sometimes hard to be on the same page! [bad pun again]
Lose the paper scissor stone game but still love the cool vulcan salute being added.

I think there are 3 types of people while going to cinema.
First, those who are enjoying food more than the movie @Sejabin
Then there are those who are secretly buying food outside and sneaking it in the bag for saving money @wallflowersforjane and me!
And lastly, there's you @snowlou seeing other enjoy good food makes you happier than when you are eating it yourself

5 hours ago, Sushimi said:One thing about IRL sushi. I hate eating while watching a movie in the cinema. I too also hate the sound of people crunching the popcorn. It gets on my nerves haha
I am those type who sneaks in outside food.... it's much cheaper and yummier.... MacDonald's to be exact. I learnt not to buy those prepackaged stuff which gives out loud cracking noise. It is very distracting both for me and the others.

10 hours ago, snowlou said:@000231846597 if i'm not mistaken you re in T....n? Not much variety when it comes to food over there??
No I am not from SG; not from TW either but planning to settle there. It's not that I want secrecy about my origins, it's just that identifying myself with my place of residence can lead to ugly political trolls in many online spaces, as it happened too frequently to my fellow citizens. Sometimes I just want to take a refuge and immerse in some apolitical stuff for a change.

I now don't even bother to deceive myself after too many "one day"s.... the only sport I take is fast-walking on different streets while detouring to unfamiliar side roads and alleys.
