  1. I just watched episode 55 with english subtitles. Oh my gosh, my heartaches.

    Spoiler
    Spoiler

Initially my heart hurts for FJ, but DH and FJ met after 200 years, I can't help but cry for DH. Throughout that whole scene, DH's was emotional and physical in pain. I couldn't help but think DH must be feeling shattered and hopeless that everything he did was not enough to show FJ how much he loves her.

Vengos acting is amazing. My head hurts from all the crying :tears:

Si Ming, but poor SMY he fell in love with FJ's shadow and he really had to try to brush it off.

I thought you meant Su Moye!

Su Moye may have fallen in love with FJ, if DH wasn't there to block any possible thoughts in that aspect.

I was rewatching the mortal realm last night. Gosh, I feel for Vengo. SX's make up were terrible in some scenes. It kinda distracted me at times.

I hope some of the cast from Ashes of Love will be there. Is this story connects with Ashes of Love?

@Winterfairy this will be a completely different story.

Yang Zi often plays a sweet and innocent character, so it will be refreshing to see her acting as a cunning character.

I am 110% ready to see Deng Lun in another Xianxia romance.

    Awww..so sweets

I hope he not jealous of DH/Vengo:D

My hubby already used to it... since he know me very well..

There's a time I had a uncontrollable cried when watched ShenYe/Aranya gut wrenching scene...he just pat my back but "roll his eyes" at the same time

I watch the drama in bed. My husband heard me sniffling and thought I was sick. He cracked up laughing once he realised it was all because of DH and FJ.

Ah ladies, I hope you all have a DH in your life, that adores and pampers you, just like he does to FJ.

  5. My gosh, I got teary reading Vengo's interview. I have read many discussions on when DH fell in love with FJ. He clarified that and more.

It is funny how we all focused on DH's jealousy, whereas Vengo and Dilraba only mentioned FJ's.

I think for most of the drama DH and FJ were equally insecure. Later on when they are in a confirm relationship, this insecurity transforms into overprotectiveness.

I love the boat scene clip. I think DH will be the strict parent. I read on twitter that DH didnt want BGG to hug FJ, because she may be pregnant with their second child. I love that theory, but even without that reason, DH probably won't let BGG be too physical attached to FJ!

    That was a tantrum....

The throwing chopsticks was a spectacular tantrum. The only tantrum that I don't mind watching repetitively!

I do hope the author will write a story based on BGG.

I think BGG will be a pranker. He will prank people without any expression, just like his dad.

DH and FJ's daughter may have unrealistic expectations for her mate. Since she is surrounded by overly handsome, smart and loving males. Also it will be difficult to find someone that meets her father's expectations.

I need recommendations for future dramas like this one, guys.

I have seen Love and Destiny and loved it.

Also, if you recommend a show, can you also say where you are watching it? I have a Vicki subscription.

    Thanks in advance!

Ashes of Love. It's an 60 episode epic journey. Make sure you have plenty of time and tissues.

This is random, but Vengo's eyes are very affectionate like Dilraba mentioned in an interview. I think both of them have expressive eyes. Their micro facial expressions and body language are on point.

It is hard to buy into some of the dramas romance, because the main leads does not behave like they are in love. Whereas Diliraba and Vengo's acting are full of affection. I almost feel like I am drowning from sweetness!

Pretty sure when she threatened him, that’s exactly what he wanted to do. Unfortunately, he did owe her father his life.

I agree.  If JH had threatened FJ's life,  I am sure he would have killed her. It wouldn't be with his own hands, but he would have laid it out so she'd disappear. Just look at what happened in AY's dream when the two princesses harmed FJ.

In addition to wanting to protect her, I think he also has the habit of not explaining himself about the things he does or trivial matter for him. And habits die hard. He could have told Ji Heng or Zhihe from the start to stop their shenanigans since he wasn't interested but for him it's kinda trivial. So even though he noticed Feng Jiu's insecurities towards Ji Heng, maybe he thought that his relationship with Feng Jiu was doing well, they're about to get married and he had shown her that the only woman he wants was her and only her.

To add to this, no one ever asked DJ to explain himself. He had always been in a position where he told people what to do and not be questioned. Apart from some situations with FJ, he never had the chance to learn to explain himself. He has 300,000 years of bad habit to break! So realistically and naturally, he will fall back into his old habits. I know some of you may think, but he should know! But it isn't that easy, especially when DH had mostly isolated himself.

DH is also very strategic and logical. For DH, he always looks for the cleanest and quickest way solve the issue. He isn't conditioned to consider people's feelings, but he was starting to think of FJ's feelings. I think it's rather telling that DH's immediate solution was to kill off any competition for FJ's affection. It may seem comical, but it highlights this method worked for DH in the past. DH couldn't kill because it would upset FJ and look at how troubled he was!

As for the wedding situation, I wonder he if thought he could just quickly sort out JH once and for all, and be back for the wedding before FJ knows it. He knows FJ is sensitive about JH and if his plan worked, wouldn't it be the quickest and cleanest way to resolve the issue without worrying FJ?

I forgot who shared the videos of Vengo. But thank you so much! He is entertaining to watch. I have no trouble disconnecting him from DH! Vengo has a nice voice. I hope we can see him in another drama soon.

  10. @anzu_brief yeah DH from the surface seemed rather detached before he met FJ. FJ injected life into his world. He wasn't lazy, I think he just realised he didn't care for the day to day routine duties. He was productive, he kept busy by making things.

Previously he appeared to live for the sole purpose of saving the world. FJ helped DH to see the world in a different way, that he too can enjoy little moments in what seems to be a long and repetitive life span.

When FJ left, DJ no longer cared to live, because she took that spark away. DJ couldn't go back to living that lonely existence.

sigh - it's under the list of what could have beens.... after all they took the liberty to add stuff in, they could have added in a little more flesh here and there. For myself, I would have loved to see BGG covering his mother's quilt, and eventhough it's said that FJ is cold, once she decides to cut someone off, she does so...but in all honesty I would have loved to see her look a little despondence in once scene in the mortal realm, maybe just as a small sign that she misses him (I recall she passed a comment that the son is like the father who likes salty food...but that's more reminiscent and not longing).

I think FJ manages her intense feelings for DH by disconnecting. That means she will not talk or think about him. Another method of managing the loss is by putting all her focus on BGG and the future. So reminiscing and talking about him is a no go!

Poor DH. He is the product of his environment and past history. He never had to really explain things to anyone. Based on his experience,  all he has to do is fix the problem.

So he continues what he knows best. Just like in episode 44, around the time he announced to FJ, he will marry her, DH tells her not to worry about anything and he will get them out of AY's dream.

As long as FJ tells him what he needs to do, I believe DH will learn.

@jacquelinetan In TMOPB, he got jealous too when he heard Bai Yi was looking for potential marriage for FJ. He immediately sent that arrowhead and bell memento to through Si Ming. FJ and BQ were in West Sea castle that time helping Mo Yuan gather his spirit and treat the elder brother of Di Feng (Su Moye, right?)

His words and actions often appear to have double meaning.

I like your interpretation. I also thought it was his way of expressing that their relationship was officially over.

I like to imagine, if their TMOPB storyline continued, DH will eventually seek FJ, because he can't stay away, especially if he knows she is in danger.

  13. @MayanEcho feeding JH to ML would have saved alot of heartaches. XY would eventually move on!

@Barbedflower good point. DH with FJ vs DH with others are absolute night and day.

I love how FJ calls DH out for his overprotectiveness or jealousy. She knows where to drew the boundary. It's also good that DH will listen to FJ and tries to compromise.

Vengo is super pale! Didn't someone mentioned how Vengo had to lose weight for a role around the time this series was filmed?

I think he couldn't really find FJ personally due to him being very ill from the poison he absorbed from JH that time. He also had to be ready somehow for his final battle with Miao Lou. (Mentally slapping JH left and right. For me she's really the worst character, Nie Chuyie next, and Miao Lou a far third.)

Even Cheng Yu who's usually on FJ's side was helping DH find solution for the Huiming realm. She and his friends knew the gravity of the situation for DH and if he doesn't defeat Miao Lou once and for all.

He found means to see her again though, by using Ye Qingti's immortalization. It was underhanded, but who can blame DH when he knew his time was almost up? He knew too that his Tiangcang cave will not protect her anymore when he dies, so he carved out that ring from his heart to continue making her safe. :tears:

JH really made a mess and she got off so lightly. The repercussions of her selfishness was too much. She had hurt so many, she also endangered almost everyone's life! Nie Chuyie may be conniving and colluding with Miao Lou, but it's nothing compared to JH harming and weakening the one who was protecting the realms!

To add to your first point, if I remember right, DH didn't look well at all. No doubt some characters would have exploited the situation if they knew DH was poisoned and weak.

JH was too self absorbed to see the greater picture.

@elsanna I too found it difficult to decipher! It sounds profound.

These 2 episodes also my favorite, especially the hide and seek part. So cute!!!

i wish they would have prolong the sweetness. I was giggling nonstop the entire time.

The hide and seek part was super cute. The way DH indulges FJ is heart warming.

DH and FJ's have the same love language.  They show their love through acts of service.

  16. @Ninky that is just gorgeous. It's a different story if it was another guy stalking FJ!

To be frank, I watched TMOPB because FJ and DJ looked too good to miss. Their relationship is what kept me going.

JH embodies all stereotypical evil second lead. She is driven by her emotions. Her single minded obsession for DH and disregard for everything else is frightening.

I question if she truly loves DH. She seems like a woman who latches on to whoever treats her well.

Seems like a common excuse in Chinese drama and novel, the "I met/saw/fell in love with him first!" Such a entitled and naive statement. Whoever think that is honestly just selfish and sees the other person as property.
