Hi @brown!!! Welcome to the HyunJi ship!
Don't worry, I've been watching some other dramas but I still rewatch PBIO episodes in between! This is the longest I've been on a kdrama hangover but I think it won't end anytime soon, either
(I'm waiting for the Blu-ray DVD too)
In spite of the lack of content, I guess a huge reason why I ship them still is because they have the same agency (and it's KSH's at that). So I'll definitely wait for an endgame with these two
There's still no confirmation on whether they will attend the APAN awards but I'm still hoping we'll get a glimpse of them!
PS. KSH is gonna start filming his new drama soon! Can't wait for his transformation
Hope we get YJ news too.

Inasmuch as I'm really hoping for HyunJi endgame, I still prefer that they'd announce it themselves rather than be revealed through Dispatch. But just observing how private KSH and SYJ are and how strict GM is (read: Gangnam Law Firm), I'm pretty confident they're protected

Yes! And I also think if they both confirm for their dramas, they also won't be shooting at the same time. If I'm not mistaken 'Island' will shoot in the first half of 2021, while 'Finger' on the second half.@firebabe It's actually a streaming party of these dramas (based on the ad it's via youtube and tving).
IOTNBO is currently streaming through the tvN drama youtube channel (non-stop) but this is only available in South Korea (you can use VPN). -

I loved the ending.. will gather my thoughts in a separate post but I'm happy JP became a part of their "family."
The SamSan bros are just adorable. I got teary-eyed when they went back to their old office and reflected on their journey together.
It was a satisfying episode overall

I understand what you're saying but what I meant was DM and DS would have met anyway if JP did not intercept DS. And although he isn't the "NDS" who wrote the letters and someone successful as she had hoped, there's a huge chance they would have still connected (not to mention grandma's lie would have already been revealed so DM would move on more easily from that). The circumstances would have been different but we saw that they are both physically attracted and emotionally in sync with each other. Who knows maybe DM would still have become the CEO of SamSan Tech.
Of course these are all speculative and part of the "what ifs" had the story been written differently. But here we are, haha.

I think hardcore JiDal fans would always find reasons/hints to believe that they will end up together whether it was 1% or 99%, in the same way DoDal fans would. It's all a matter of perspective.
I feel bad that some fans are not able to dissociate the character from the actor. However, I guess it means NJH's acting is effective, right? I've followed him since Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo. I also watched The School Nurse Files recently, and his acting has definitely improved since Idle Mermaid and The Bride of Habaek. It's probably best that he avoids the internet for now, and I hope he's getting a lot of support from the people around him because Knetz, or netizens in general can be unbelievably harsh (I know he is also good friends with Jo In Sung and company, among his many other close pals).
Anyway back to the drama, @inbetween0and1 I had forgotten about the flower petal! Thank you for pointing this out and I will definitely look for that when I rewatch this series. I dunno but for some reason it has always been clear to me that DS and DM are meant to be together for reasons a lot of you have already pointed out. What's done is done when they were children (grandma's lie with the letters). However, JP never tried to seek out grandma even when he became successful and only knew about DM when grandma asked him for a favor to look for the real NDS. DM, on the other hand, found the real NDS all by herself (when NDS put up the ad for the signed baseball). They were always meant to meet even without JP's intercession (I was so frustrated when he stopped an innocent NDS from approaching DM).
Also, DM never showed any sign that she was romantically attracted to JP. I feel that she will always respect, admire, and feel grateful towards him but I don't see them ending up together unless the writer pulls up a last minute plot twist. We should remember though that the drama has finished shooting since a few weeks ago so the ending is already determined.
Can't wait for Saturday!

1. SYJ wouldn't have agreed to it knowing it would hurt KSY feelings in any way.
2. Both of them wouldn't have been okay with letting someone who isn't related to the drama walk with her on stage as it might have been interpreted differently by netizens and media alike.
3. If he was still in the early stages of courting her he would have been wary especially of LGJ hehe he is a stunner and he has a history with SYJ and they had pretty excellent chemistry too that idea might not have sat well with KSY.
It required trust and maturity to agree to what LGJ did from both KSY and SYJ hehe.

KSH and LJG actually share the same salon (they were both seen at the salon before the awards) so they probably know each other or have exchanged pleasantries previously. I see LJG as a really cool and fun sunbaenim who probably knows something about the two (hence he even explained why he escorted SYJ on stage) -

Among the characters in SU i'm more interested in DS. Something raw, genuine and naive about him, not to mention his sexy brain. This is how i see him:
- He was humble. He didn't think he was a genius at all even tho he was. Until today i also never saw him took pride in material things even after he succeeded as developer in 2STO. He took pride in accomplishment (CODA, Noongil).
- Most people claimed him as a cheater for that unintentional glimpse on 1 essay answer in the olympiad test. It burdened him for life. For me, i see it as he had quite high moral standard that only 1 unintentional 'cheat', which for most people ignorable, made him feel he didnt deserve the medal.
- He spoke the same language as DS and an excellent listener. She had many great visions, and he could perfectly translate it while others failed. He helped her to make them come true through his ability. Together they make the impossible possible. DM was the conceptor, DS was the executor. With DM as his muse, DS had reached the greatest manifestation of his ability in form of Noongil. It's a pity because of that petty love triangle most people ignored the fact that DS had created a masterpiece, not only for halmeoni but for the world. I'm still waiting for their another collaborative project on driverless car.
- He was not resourceful as opposed to JP. But he tried whatever he can to help people he cared about. When you were limited in terms of resource, your kindness towards others would become even more valuable. He helped Chul San saving 100 million won from ransomware without expecting any monetary gain. Later on, he helped DM saving 300/600 million won from another ransomware case
- He was loyal and professional. When DM broke up with him, logically speaking he had no reason to continue Noongil. Instead, he still came to Alex's office to beg for it (together with JP) for the sake of halmeoni. For three years he improved its features and brought it to the greater height where Noongil being acquired by a famous figure in business circle he met during networking party in SF. He also decided to help DM with tarzan project even tho she didnt clarify anything regarding their personal issues during the mountain encounter. Not to mention he made that decision while he was still under impression that DM had relationship with JP.
My point is, DS is a really kind guy. Toxic stans overlooked the fact that this person they called "manipulative sad boy" had created great things with his ability (they proudly said that they skipped every of his scene). They didnt need to like him because it's a matter of personal taste, but they could learn a lot from DS character instead of bashing him with baseless ground.
Thank you for this! You and @Arajo81 have summed it up so well! The writer gave us all these details about DS but it's sad some fans just developed tunnel vision over JP. And I don't even dislike JP, I just know that DM and DS are just better together. Isn't that what relationships are all about, too? Not just being good for the other person but vice versa as well. And DS and DM have always been like that. They support each other and bring the best out of each other.
As we only saw a snippet of Ep 15, when JP told DS, "Stop feeling inferior to me, look at DM again", I didn't think of it as JP having to give DS a go signal for him to do something but rather it was his way of clearing up a misunderstanding he made himself. DS stepped back when JP alluded to a supposed 'relationship' between him and DM, and when DM didn't answer his calls. He thought it was really over so he tried to get over DM on his own; but then DM came to him on her own. Since he still has feelings for DM and DM made a "successful pitch", he joined DM's company and the Tarzan project even while still thinking that DM and JP are together.
I hope they resolve the whole love triangle already by ep 15 since I also wanna see how the Tarzan project works out, how they all get together at Cheongmyeong Company (does Saha join too?) and how Nature Group/IT twins lose

'Uri' literally means 'we'/'our', so SYJ mentioning "uri moon gang tae-ssi" just gives a more personal feel to it and makes you wonder if she is offering her award to the character, MGT, or... to the actor who played MGT. The suffix -ssi is added if you're addressing someone politely. I think they're just making a reference to MY's iconic confession since she called him GT-ssi in that scene.
Sorry if I cannot explain so well as I am no fluent in Korean (though it is my desire to be, haha).

I enjoyed ep 13 and 14. And it was clear on both episodes who is really in DM's heart - it is DS. Again, JP missed his timing.
I know NJH is the ML in this drama so a DM-DS endgame is expected but I just wanted to point these out for those who still feel that JP is the better pairing for DM. First of all, it is DM's decision who she will choose, and she clearly loves DS even after 3 years of separation. Apart from the moments when DS was there for DM, especially when he rushed over to fix the ransomware, one moment that particularly struck me was when they talked on the phone for hours --- they connect and that's very important in a relationship.
In the preview, JP told DS to stop feeling inferior to him and to look at DM again. I think JP will already be conceding in the next episode. He knows both DM and DS still have feelings for each other and he'd realize that he can't force them apart.
My fave moment in episode 14 was the epilogue. I love DS's parents so much. They're so supportive and cute together.
I'm a bit anxious and sad that this drama is ending but I'm looking forward to see how it goes too. I wanna see Halmeoni use Tarzan, as well as IJ and JP have their own happy endings. Let's all enjoy this ride and support the cast and crew who worked hard for this drama.

Regardless, I am just happy shipping quietly and probably don't expect much to see them in one picture. Just need to be patiently waiting someday in years.

Hi @Mojo! Somebody mentioned before that Mr. Ryu is now like the overall head of managing artists at GM. I think he was also spotted with Saeron before when she had a shoot (please correct me on this). But so far we see him with SH and YJ a lot -- I still think this is a bit unusual since both are big named stars and are most likely busy with their own activities. From what I know they usually have dedicated managers to accompany them at events. I would even go as far as think that our HyunJi couple purposely don't have conflicting schedules so that Mr. Ryu can accompany them (except for the AAAs and maybe other upcoming awards where they will be attending together).
Not to mention he is a close friend of SH too-

It's so funny cos I was giddy the whole time while watching KSH and SYJ at the AAAs. I know a lot were disappointed with the the lack of interactions but didn't it make HyunJi more obvious?
And there's absolutely nothing wrong with what KSH 'did'. He obviously just followed health protocols. I hope people would refrain from making misguided opinions since we don't know what really happens behind the scenes and we only see 1% (or even less) of their personal lives.
...And let's all return to happy shipping

Congratulations to KSH for his 5th daesang and SYJ for her first acting award!!! I'm seriously teary-eyed!!! And of course they both won the "Hot Issue Award". They also both won the Popularity voting at APAN 2020 but there's no date yet for the ceremonies.
@firebabe @N Bina yes unfortunately that is just a fan edit.
They have NO photo together, even as labelmates, or as an actor/actress who won the same award. GM is so strict, really! Personally I think they're making it more obvious that something is up KSH had photos with his previous co-stars whenever they are at award shows, but now, zero, nada. Even the GM IG only has solo photos of them...I've given up hahaha.
P.S. Can I just say that both of them looked absolutely stunning?! KSH is like a vampire who never ages and SYJ...her dress was so beautiful and fit her so well! I cannot stop staring at their photos!

Whoa I was wondering what could be the conflicts since we still had 4 episodes left but I guess they're gonna go with noble idiocy..this time from DS.
I like DS and DM together but I was wondering why JY did not make any move within those 3 years. I understand if he gave DM some time after she found out the truth and their relationship became awkward after his confession, but that was his chance to develop at least a friendship with her. In this episode they still clearly have that sunbaenim-hoobae relationship. He missed his chance once again.
I love confident DS. I think in the next ep DS will change his mind after his conversation with JY and decide to move on from DM, and probably go back to the US. But this time DM will try to approach him and ask him to stay. I can't wait for the Tarzan story reference once again and all the flashbacks during those 3 years (DS's hiking in the preview might be a flashback in the US?). Sorry all these are just my theories. I do hope they won't drag this any longer. I want JY to be happy and move on too.
Regarding work, I do believe the IT twins and IJ's stepdad have something to do with the ransomware attack. And maybe it is IJ who will convince DM to go and start a company again with the old SamSan Tech gang. Maybe it is with SamSan Tech where the Tarzan project will come into fruition.
Loving Chulsan and Saha too. @Afxdy I love your theory about Saha purposely going to the bbq place to bump into Chulsan. She is definitely in love with him too!

@Babybear I get what you mean and I think that's why they've been depriving us even of BTS and lead selcas during the latter part of IOTNBO (which are pretty common promotional tactics while a drama is airing). Even Management SOOP (which houses both Suzy and Nam Joo Hyuk) are promoting their drama leads well. So it's really suspicious for our HyunJi right?
So for now I just accept the scarcity of content andI just hope it would be HyunJi endgame (without divorce!).

What a rollercoaster ride episodes 11 and 12 were.
I won't focus on the love triangle but instead react on the individual characters.
First, SamSan Tech. It hurt so much when they had to break up. But that's the lesson there ---they should have made someone more experienced (e.g. JY) review the contract before signing. And you can't just trust someone's words -- it has to be in writing.
Yong San. I know a lot are really annoyed at him but I'm just gonna try to understand him and put myself in his shoes. He lost his brother and he attributes it to his failure during Demo Day. Don't get me wrong, I do believe JP did all the right things as a judge that day, and even as a mentor to SamSan Tech. But it is a given that the SamSan trio are such novices in business and need a lot of growing up to do. So they had to learn the hard way. I know YS attacked JP harshly but I was hoping JY at least sympathised with him upon knowing his brother killed himself. I think they could have understood each other more that way. I guess that's my only gripe about it.
Chul San. I love his character..also the development of his relationship with SH. I think we will be seeing more of them when the trio comes back from the US.
Sa Ha. She was such a cutie buying the 1+1 iced vanilla latte (I love that flavor, too!). I will now call them the Iced Vanilla Latte couple haha.
Dal Mi. I've always loved her spunk and I'm glad she tried searching for jobs right away. I already had a feeling she would end up with IJ's company when IJ already mentioned hiring more people --- esp when she mentioned strategic planning and sales. This would definitely be a good chance for them to reconcile and build their relationship again
Jip Yeong. I just wish him happiness. I wasn't a fan of the fight scene (and DS punched first so it's definitely not JY's fault) but I'm relieved they got that over with. I know they have mutual respect for each other; they're just rivals because of DM. I'm glad that from the previews it looks like he'll be hanging out with DM and Halmeoni a lot. I'm happy that he has officially become a part of their family.
Do San. He is definitely a flawed character too but like everyone has pointed out, he has a lot of growing up to do and I think his experience in the US will change him. I'm still curious as to what their agreement was regarding NoonGil. The meeting with Alex, JY, and DS hasn't been fully revealed yet but I'm excited that DS is already working on it (function of identifying different medications). And looks like DM will ask for DS's help to fix a malware in their system.
Can't wait for time skip!

Hello everyone!! It's been so quiet lately but I hope we are all getting ready for the awards (AAA broadcast was moved on the 28th, APAN still doesn't have a new schedule).
@firebabe voting for AAA popularity was open to both Korean and international fans but the competition was really tough and in the end, Song Ji Hyo and Park Jin Young both came in 1st place. All fans worked hard though

Someone else explained this (I don't remember if it was from a different thread or social media platform, I apologise!) and mentioned that sometimes it is stipulated in the contract to give at least a 3-month notice if an artist is going to renew or not which makes sense since August is exactly 3 months from her contract expiry in November. And announcing it in the news would attract potential agencies. So her contract probably still expired in November which explains her signing with GM in December. The bigger question is ---- when did GM approach her or when did she decide to join GM?
BTW some sad and puzzling news, the AAA Awards broadcast has been moved to November 28 (although they will still hold it on the 25th). So I'm afraid they'll edit some of the HyunJi crumbs we could possibly get
There's no news yet on the APAN broadcast either.

@lebeaucouple unfortunately tvN doesn't have their own awards (yet). I just hope we'll see them win a lot of the upcoming awards this year (also OJS and the whole drama team)
@brown I'm so happy KSH took "That Night" rather than "Finger" too! Can't wait for his transformation. SYJ still hasn't confirmed for "Island" but I hope we hear updates soon.
