  1. @Sleepy Owl and @partyon - oh yes, thanks for your comment, i am so glad that someone ever watched this "The Guest' drama and "The Wailing" movie too...it's not easy to find someone on the same page and same feeling after watching those spooky drama/movie. Give me five....:heartxoxo:

@confusedheart yes, i was told that Thai movie was one of the top scary movies in Asia country, they have many dark magic/evil stories to tell. Same for Indonesia....When I was touring in Indonesia with my friends, the tour guide shared his real story when he saw the dark magic happened in the small village in Indonesia, and it was so creepy and eerie after hearing the story...

  2. For Drama category, i have chosen the most scary one is : THE GUEST (2018)

For Movie category, I have chosen the most scary one is : THE WAILING (2016) (one of the highest rating score in IMDb - a truly masterpiece)

Until now, I still have some spooky memories from these 2 dark drama/movie. I have watched few horror/thriller drama/movies but none of them were like The Wailing and The Guest. This is psychological-thriller, mystery, horror, demonic movie!  Nowaday, I will try to avoid all these horror drama because I know it will affect and bring some negative energy to us, so I have given up watching any ghosts drama/movie lately. Horror with comedy genre is ok to watch though...:D

Bedevilled (2010) that in your list - this is another thriller movie recommended to watch, but after watching you will be distraught because you will see how the village people and her best friend bully her...

Some of the mysterious/thriller drama that I watch currently are (these are my favourite now)

    • Blind
    • Shadow Detective
    • Bargain (total : 6 EP only)

inspired by real life? I find them pretty funny in dramas as well.

so real life story: this happened during a basketball game when I was in school. we were all sitting outside the court floor and I was eating chips and not paying attention to the game. one of the players was running for the ball and was running so fast that he tripped, fell on top of me, we skidded a bit -- but unlike dramas, there was no eye contact or slow music or even freeze. instead, he got up very very quickly (in couple of seconds) and just jumped back into the game to catch the ball and dribble again. :lol::lol:..

one of the teachers came over and asked if I was okay -- I had scraped my elbow and my forehead had a small bump and I felt like I was seeing stars; then he cheekily said "well, he knocked you over" and I eye rolled and said "yea, he took my breath away" -- and all those around burst out laughing. :joy:

after one of the players had taken a shot at the basket, the fella turned back and yelled from the other side of the court,  "you okay? sorry!" and I just waved. belated reaction and all. :lol::lol:

it should have been embarassing but it was more funny and (bit painful). makes for a fun memory :loolz:

Did the player came to you after the game and be your Mr Right thereafter .

I did not like accidental kiss, always repetitive in any dramaland, too old school.

I did not vote any because none of the drama i liked. When we were young, we all loved fairy tales romantic storyline, but now I prefer P&P - "practical and passionate" kiss, and with sensational touching, just like "Ghost" movie, it is even in a higher level ....:D

  4. I love the ep when the first male lead calling "Amy",  the pet cat from 2nd male lead house....it was so comical, if you pay attention to the cat's look....Amy is the one who only listen to her 'handsome master" - Ji ho? ? hahahaha

    :loolz:

The first few ep were quite boring until Ep 3 onwards, I only like to see Park Min Young and Go Kyung Pyo this pair full of chemistry...

I watched the BTS youtube shown Go Kyung Pyo almost kiss Park Min Young during BTS that was not in the script......

  5. @confusedheart - oh yes, you shouldn't miss out this Elvis movie if you have time, I read somewhere from different websites that given this movie with high rating.

I'm delighted to see the movie offering to directly showcase the black artist that Elvis was inspired by. They shown a direct connection between the black community and himself during his younger days when he came from a poor family, so there's no doubt where his inspiration came from. Bravo. Overall, it's a truly unique narration of such a cultural icon, and I would applaud it for grabbing my attention more than any other. But seriously, in my opinion, the shining stars of this movie are Austin and Tom Hank. The relationship between Elvis and his Manager. Austin did a fantastic job because he portrayed it very realistically.

As mentioned early, I was not a big fan of Elvis Presley, probably because of the different era, but we would feel sad and sorry for Elvis' career life ended so early because of his drugs addictive (died of age 42). Do you know after watching this movie, I started to look out some resources from youtube , the interview with Elvis ex-wife and all about Elvis hit songs and his previous old movies....:D

Many popular celebrities who have died early as a result of substance (drugs) addiction., just to name a few

    1. Elvis Presley
    2. Michael Jackson
    3. Whitney Houston
    4. Heath Ledger
    5. Philip Seymour Hoffman

According to American Psychological Association reported that people who addicted for drugs are due to persistent stress, peer pressure, and grieving After Loss, etc. The more famous we are or the higher the goals we set, the further away we are from a healthy lifestyle, unless we can calibrate our work-life balance well. So lucky....i am not famous....hahaha:issohappy:

Keanu is my Ultimate Oppa! :fullofhearts:If you didn't know...

Same here. I like and respect Keanu Reeve a lot, not because of his works, but because of how he perceives life in his actual life and he is truly a person "walk the talk"  -practise what you preach. How many hollywood billionaire stars can donate everything he earns to the society or needy people?

The first movie he caught my eyes was in "Point Break" (1991), thereafter "Speed", and "Speed 2" . I did not watch all his action movies series, like Matrix series and John Wick, etc. Only 1 or 2  in Matrix series.

If you like his romance drama, you can try catch up his "Sweet November" starring Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron - i prefer this romantic movie to  "Lake house" .

I am trying to watch : Destination Wedding (2018) - by Keanu Reeves/Winona Ryder/Movies, but couldn't find where to catch it...

  7. @confusedheart

Thanks again for sending us the useful upcoming kdrama list. It was indeed helpful to me.

I am not sure whether any new drama stories will give us something memorable because currently I can only choose based on popular actors/actresses.

Below are the list I may watch them once they air :

    1. One Dollar Lawyer
    2. Blind
    3. Love in Contract
    4. Curtain Call
    5. The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate
    6. The Empire of Law
    7. The Queen's Umbrella
    8. Glitch

I love to watch good romantic movie, some of my favourite love story movies which have beautiful and classic songs that bring good memories :

    1. Ghost
    2. The Notebook (2004) by Ryan Gosling.
    3. Sleepless in Seattle
    4. Pretty Woman
    5. My best friend's wedding
    6. Love story (1970)
    7. Somewhere in Time (1980)

The longest love story I ever watched because of spending so many hours but these classic movies are worth to watch

    1. Gone with the wind
    2. Doctor Zhivago

Recently I just finished watching two good movies, not sure if anyone has watched, share with me your opinion if you have watched one of them :

    1.  Good luck to you, Leo Grande - the ads said "Sex-positive and Positively Sexy" - very meaningful story and highly recommended to all women - should watch it. Their dialogues were the most fantastic part, Emma Thomson was so good in this show. BTW, I love their British speaking accents

    2. Elvis (2022) - How can we forget this movie with Tom Hanks in it (as Elvis' manager) :D....I felt so sad about the story of Elvis Presley, King of Rock 'n' Roll. I did not grow up with Elvis' song, but I did remember his popular song, "Are you lonesome tonight?"

  9. so guess who is the Big mouse?

My first guess was Jerry, but since EP7 shown that he wasn't then I may suspect Jerry may be an "uncover", but again I may be wrong...

Do you think it was the Prison Warden, Park Yoon-Gab? But I doubt so....

The Mayor,  Choi Do-Ha, too easy to guess if he is the one, but his motive is to destroy and overtake the power that he has been aiming to....

Today EP7 the missing of half an hour shown in the short video was a twist (Someone trim/cut short the video in the thumb drive), so who was the one already known the plan ahead of the ML?

This part was so fun and exciting to watch, let's wait for EP8 coming up tomorrow.

  10. @confusedheart - I don't like the ending of the Eve, the entire story is too dragy, full of obsession of love, lust and revenge....if you ask me whether the FL lead will choose 2nd ML since he is flying over to Spain to find her at the end, I don't think so, she still love the first ML deep inside her heart...

I would recommend you to watch a short Kdrama (total 4 EP) - "Boar hunting" or "Hunted" at MBC channel. A thriller, mysterious with a surprising plot. You can binge watch it. I almost gave up on this show at the beginning because it didn't have a popular actor or actress, but looking at the synopsis mentioning one of the MBC's best screenplays, I was hooked as the storyline developed... Trust me, you won't regret watching it. :)

    1. Extraordinary Attorney Woo (very impressive drama, thumbs up)
    2. Hunted (aka Boar hunting) (only 4 EP - highly recommended thriller-mysterious storyline because it was awarded the best script in MBC station, but not sure which year, :D)
    3. If you wish upon me
    4. Big mouth (if you don't mind with illogical plot)
    5. Doctor Lawyer (just finished airing, if you don't mind with illogical plot)

When you have time, can watch (currently airing) :

    1. Adamas
    2. A Model Family
    3. The Good Detective Season 2

  13. What an emotional journey for this drama but I truly enjoyed it all the way to the end.

There is no soul in the world that has not been hurt, and the same goes to regret, not only just Dongxi, every character in the drama lives with hidden pain, they try to get rid of the haze and predicament, I think the audience should be able to resonate and learn from it after watching it. Gain inspiration and hope.

In the drama, the reconciliation between Lee Byung-hun and Kim Hye-ja's mother and son relationship was the climax of the ending. The touching tear-jerking plot did live up to the audience's expectations. I read from different forums that many audience members exclaimed (including myself) : "I was in tears when I watched the preview before, but after watching the ending, I cried like running water again, and I was relieved to see the happy ending!"

I hope this year TVN best couple award goes to this mother & son (Lee Byung-hun and Kim Hye-ja) they are the best deserved couple - old but gold....both shine on the last part of the EP.

Many viewers frustrated why the mom couldn't even say a sorry word to his son which he kept questioning her during the trip. Both are obstinate, and deep down in her heart, she was self inferior, a soft hearted, uneducated and old traditional woman during those days. Not many women can make a good decision for themselves and for their children after their spouses left them. If any opportunity comes, they will likely choose to remarry so that their young child or children have a proper food and shelter. It also depends a lot on the character of the woman. Dongxi's mother has soft character and endured for many years. If she has strong character, she will highly likely run away from the house with her son, after seeing her son bitten up by the two step sons.

There is a saying : Character determines your destiny in life, I totally agree with that. I am a living example, my mom is a strong woman and thanks to her, we can now live in one of the best countries because she chose to bravely leave this small hometown...instead of living together with those old bullied relatives in the same town.

Character is hard to change, but the mindset can do. As long as one party takes the courage (the son did, everytime he blown out his bad temper but his action against it and he still fulfilled his mom final wishes). Likewise, the mother cooked for his son's favourite dish before dying....so touching...

Using sincere action and mutual communication during the trip are the most powerful way to amend the broken relationship, this has vividly shown on the last two EP - very heartwarming....

Each story struck a chord. If everyone touched while watching this drama, it means that we are truly fortunate because there are many people out there still need to wake up early morning (fish market) and struggle hard for a living.

A masterpiece of work with phenomenal acting, 5 thumbs up for the writer, director, actors and production team - filled with love and support !!!

You asked Who do you want to replace her in Taxi Driver drama?

Don't have any particular name in mind, but since you ask for this, I won't mind to see my favourite actress (who can really act in drama) to match with Lee Je-Hoon, just for fun.....:D

    1. Han So-hee
    2. Kim So Yeon
    3. Seo Ye ji
    4. Lee Se-young
    5. Kim Ji-won

If all these 5 actresses not appear in the next season (which very likely), I hope the writer can choose a good one :)

  15. @confusedheart  let me answer you one by one :

For me, Cheese in the Trap and My ID is Gangnam Beauty brought out the uni-fun days. Have you watched them, chingu?

Unfortunately, I did not watch both dramas, maybe  no time, although I know Cheese in the Trap was so popular and it was made into a movie.

Are you watching it (Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area (coming in June) , How is it? I am scared they will ruin my memories of the original.

Yes I will watch it, only the total EP6 on S1, you are right that the Spanish version was so good that I enjoyed it very much. I like the 1st  and 2nd seasons for the original version, the subsequent ones not as good. The story made the police and politicians look so dumb. :LOLx :D

I heard about All of Us Are Dead getting a new season. But are we getting Squid Game 2? Oh I would love to know how the story unfolds... they left us on a cliff hanger- craving for more!

Squid game 2 and All of us are dead are making a season 2. Waiting for them in the next 2 years, I believe.

I agree with you wrt Our Blues. One of the finest indeed, this year. It also helps that Woo Bin has those just melt your heart dimples.  Which is your favourite story?
I watched this drama because of Lee Byung-hun, his acting is so phenomenal.

My favourite stories in this drama were :

    1. The relationship between Shin Min-a and Lee Byung-hun, especially Lee, is always helping her whenever she needs help, because she was depressed for a long time.
    2. I was touched by the story between Han Ji-Min and her elder sister (abnormal but extraordinarily talented with her drawing skill) sister who visited her in Cheju island, I cried a lot.
    3. I love the story between the grandma and her small granddaughter, so touching and warmth :approves:

All these stories made us cry a bucket. Yes you are right that the finest drama for this year 2022, i hope it gets the best drama award.

The best romance comedy in Webtoons & Manhwa series, I would choose "True Beauty" - this drama brought me back the good old school days memories, puppy love, so so so funny, full of fun and laughters, I enjoyed the OST songs too.

The best eerie in Webtoons & Manhwa series, I would choose "Stranger from Hell", the dark atmosphere and the characters themselves can make us feel really creepy and scary....

The best historical period political drama (Horror Thriller) in Webtoons & Manhwa series, I choose "Kingdom"....this series made us hook on tight, must be fought with a strategic mind, against the politicians opponents and the living deads.

Below listed are my favourite drama that waiting for the next Seasons :

    • Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area (coming in June)
    • Kingdom S3
    • D.P. S2
    • Taxi Driver S2
    • Sweet Home S2
    • All of Us Are Dead S2
    • Squid Game S2

Currently, I enjoy the most is "Our blues" (2022) kdrama - a truly top-notch cast with phenomenal acting. It's worth watching. Bravo !

  17. Thanks for the vote, i am surprised to see some of the results  that I voted:

I enjoyed watching so much for "Innocent Defendant" but it seems there is only one vote from me on "Innocent Defendant" ...Lol:D...this drama was so intense with comedy elements that drove the rating up for each EP, the writer even extended two more EP just to satisfy the audience...Hahaha

I watched quite a number of legal drama as it is my genre but I chose the below ones that i love enjoyed them (not in ranking order) :

    1. Innocent Defendant
    2. Juvenile Justice
    3. Vincenzo
    4. Remember: War of the Son
    5. Hyena
    6. One Ordinary Day
    7. Stranger (Forest of Secrets/Secret Forest)
    8. Whisper

Among all, I must highlight that "Whisper" is the only one that impressed me alot, not just because of the thrilling content, it is because the writer was doing such an amazing job in giving in-depth details especially in their conversation and scenes during their confrontation, I must give the full credits to the translator who did a good job in letting me to understand better in terms of the corruption of military defense contract & the intense war that involved legal firm. The 'twist' factor was the most exciting one, right from the start till the end. If I have more time, I wouldn't mind to rewatch this drama, it's worth spending :)

I am currently watching Spanish drama, "Money Heist" Season 5, wow wow wow, such an amazing drama, no wonder hit No. 1 in Netflix for long period of time and achieved several European International awards..

@lebeaucouple it is fascinating we have HAs ex character, to compare the situation of someone dying vs someone died suddenly. There are pros and cons. When someone is dying, you are prepared for their end and can do and say whatever you want to get off your chest so they know before they die, but when someone just suddenly dies you can’t say goodbye or what you want that person to know before they pass. Luckily none of the kids had a big fight with the mom or said anything they regret.

Yes...You spot on....this is what the drama writer wish to highlight to us in Ep13 : a sudden death of a loved one and let the remainers regret for life....so what's the catch and to reflect? We need to treasure our loved one as much as possible when they are still around, and shouldn't be taking them for granted, especially to our family members and close friends.

The whole traditional family has taken for granted of their mom when she is still alive, they can enjoy the food on the table and yet forgot how much time and effort for their mom to prepare daily work for them. Someone we love dearly, didn't cherish this person when he/she was alive, why regret it now, isn't this a wake-up call to all of us?

This drama directly hits countless viewers at the moment: many often feel confused and depressed in ordinary and trivial days, and their hearts are fragile and hesitant, but the story dares to face the reality that touched the audience's heart, making people constantly reflect on and summarize the people and things around them. The story seems simple and yet "phenomenal" work.

@philosophie I know how hard it is to lose someone you love dearly. My condolences for your loss of mom. Don't feel sad, tell ourselves that mum is sleeping peacefully in heaven, and she is freeing herself into another new world. FYI, My mom is on kidney dialysis and our whole family is currently taking good care of her although we know she is in pain, especially when all the needles went into her skin. She still has a good memory when playing games with us at her 90s. What she needs and wants the most is the time spent and feels happy together with us.

Love to share this quote with you:  "We come into this world alone, we leave this world alone. Everything else is optional"

Like what @tiger457_stv said before, the dead don't have sorrow, just for those who remain!  And The living ones who have a choice to live what kind of life we want. A blessing to all of us

  19. Totally agreed with you @tiger457_stv that dying in a sleep is so much better than suffering the sickness in the hospital, at least it will be less burden to the family members. (I personally prefer to die in a sleep at home - if i am lucky, or just suffer two weeks of pain and leave the world soon, if it is possible).

Their mum was suffered due to overworked, she still needed to cook for the family even after came back from the farm work. Very sad ....

IMO, the most required person in the family that needs to free/Liberate herself at her age is the mum....I pity her the most because she doesn't have the chance to enjoy life at her life stage and to attend her children's wedding, while at the same time, it's a blessing for her, at least not died in a serious illness.

I felt today EP13 is the most touching one, perhaps I encountered too many events in my daily life : Most of us choose to repeat our daily routine, repeating the same route, repeating something familiar and comfortable with, although we are afraid of change or frustrated at times. Liberation sound easy but how many of us can get away from this routine zoning.

Can we choose a day when to leave the world (except a suicide case)? Instead of keep pondering, I think we should live our life to the fullest before it is too late, that will be the good choice for us.

To stay in a cocoon, or free ourselves, you make the choice, and that perhaps is the key message of this drama :)

Choi Hyun Jin, 14 years old (starred lastly in King of Pigs, TV adaptation)

I've cried and crossed fingers for this boys, his emotional scenes were very good. And overall performance highly memorable.

I would recommend to pay attention to the whole young cast of King of Pigs. They were very good in their roles and portraying very intense, captivating characters of victims and offenders in bullying case.

Totally agreed. Give me five. I hope there are more people watching this drama "The King of Pigs", such a fabulous drama (the original story is an animation film which was awarded in Europe and now this kdrama is a remake one)....

The young actors are really good, not just the adult ones. The storyline is disturbing, angry at the sad ending.......to be honest,  i prefer it comes with hope at the end, there must be a "light at the end of the tunnel", why chose to jump down?....disappointing and sad for them. The trend of school violence must be corrected, it happens everywhere now and then....

  21. Once again, we were fooled by the writer, expected and unexpected.

Apparently, she had done enough research to check the ratings and audience preferences. Most viewers are attracted to this pair of SPY and SDM (shown in many forums), they don't want the writer to kill off the SDM role after seeing the last ep. I would consider the writer is so "cunning" that to keep the suspense characters, so everyone will be drawn to S4 whether we like it or not, despite the odd combination of ghost storylines that distracts from the plot.

To me, if I compare the two SEO brothers couples, I prefer LSE and SB - This older couple gave me the vibe of down-to-earth feel, slow and steady win the game, while watching the SPY and SDM couple, I would feel the fairy tale storyline, everything was so perfect and smooth in relationship. But when the fairy glass shatters, it wakes everyone up and pulls us back to reality (If the last scene that shown SDM died in the accident). I want the reality but the writer is once again playing with us - More Ghosts come into picture.

I don't see any value added if she continues to add more Ghosts into the storyline. S3 already had 3 ghosts Grandpa, Song Won and the little kid.

From this S3, I could see more attachment to the surviving family because the ghosts were still lingering. Aren't we trying to learn from our life lesson how to detach when necessary and move on? Why do we still see more attachments after death in the storylines?

I am getting worried if I see more ghosts around after death in S4, and before they move on to another "world", they are still lingering in the existing world because of attachment or agony. This is not the life lesson we are learning.

If the whole show is a pure comedy, then I'd rather the writer makes all the storylines a ghost world, or everyone lives in harmony in heaven.

I would rather the handsome and charming actor who acted SDM role, joins a new drama since he is getting popular after this drama.

PS : To me, 50's husband role needs to be completely written off. He was still glue to his ex wife and asked the ex-wife to pay for the current tenant's relocation fee and the agent commission as he wanted to move into their old apartment. If the writer still wants to add ghosts, then the best choice for S4 is to turn the ex-50s husband into a ghost.....hahaha :D

I would visit the Pyramids in Egypt.  Has anyone ridden a camel?  Has anyone watched Death on the Nile, the new one with Kenneth Branagh?

Absolutely no to hot air balloons!  I crashed in one in New Mexico.

    • Yes....you should visit Pyramids in Egypt, one of the 7 wonders of the world that we shouldn't miss. I joined the tour many years ago, the package was including the River Nile cruise. We even had a night for tourists to put up an Egyptian Costume at the cruise party - what a memorable fun tour for us. No regret.
    • Yes for Camel ride - but not too enjoyable for me.
    • I had experienced one hot air balloon at New Zealand, and I love it. The only pity was the sky weather wasn't that clear during that time.
    • I watched "Death on the Nile" movie, i would say it's boring, no suspense thriller at all. Don't waste time
    • I recommend you to watch a new fantastic movie The Outfit (2022) - There is no stacking of big-name, special effects and dazzling skills, pure good shots and good stories, a masterpiece of simple old-school essence. It's been a long time since I saw a movie like this that didn't feel like a waste of time after watching it. The scenes that are not hidden in the waves, the story of the assassination, the surprises are constantly, once again shocking at the end, interesting story, a high rating movie too.

  23. @partyon - Thanks for the tagging.

Among all, I had chosen the best for below to go with my oppa (bf):

Lapland - experience Northern Lights as we were there to see northern lights at Finland/Sweden/Norway two year ago. We were damn lucky to watch the northern lights at three different countries. Blessed us all the way

Of course, a fun husky trip with various husky sledding experiences during the Aurora Zone tour and a night's sleep in a Finnish glass house was an unforgettable trip for us - we would never forget this trip, albeit an expensive one.
