Jo Kwon reveals which JYP artist used to have a crush on Min Hyo Rin

On the May 11 airing of MBC's 'Radio Star,' Jo Kwon dropped a bomb on a poor, unsuspecting member of the JYP family as is the duty of a brother.  A mischievous brother.

Jo Kwon said, "In the past, G.Soul liked Min Hyo Rin," then even revealed text messages that Min Hyo Rin had sent to G.Soul in the past.  

G.Soul denied this, saying that he could not recall this.  However, there were multiple texts exchanged between the two that Jo Kwon was exposing, so he finally acknowledged this with, "I like all pretty girls.  I remember everything," causing laughter.

Way to sell a brother out on public TV with Min Hyo Rin sitting right there.

JYP Reveals G.Soul Was Supposed To Play Kim Soo Hyun’s Role In “Dream High”

Park Jin Young reveals that he initially envisioned G.Soul as the male lead of hit drama series “Dream High.”

On the May 11 broadcast of MBC “Radio Star,” G.Soul explains why he ended up spending 15 years in the United States instead of debuting. He says that up until the U.S. financial crisis in 2008, Korean artists were being well-received in the United States. After the economy plummeted, a lot of production companies called it quits.

Park Jin Young shares, “I was worried about G.Soul, and that’s how I came to write a portion of a drama storyline. It became ‘Dream High.’ I thought that if we made G.Soul the lead and then sent him back to America, his probability of success would be high.”

However, G.Soul declined the offer. Jo Kwon also chimes in, “I also got a call, but I was at the time not interested in acting or dramas.” The role would ultimately be filled by Kim Soo Hyun.

“In the end, Kim Soo Hyun and Suzy took the roles. Kim Soo Hyun played G.Soul’s role,” Park Jin Young says.

Jung Jinwoon Reveals Teaser For Solo Comeback

 

After revealing news about his solo comeback, Mystic Entertainment has revealed the first teaser image for Jung Jinwoon’s upcoming solo album.

The teaser says “MAXISINGLE. JUNE. 2016.” Jung Jinwoon looks chic and masculine leading fans to be excited about his new album’s concept.

Mystic Entertainment revealed, “We are planning for Jung Jinwoon to release his first album mid-June and start his solo promotions. He is currently committed to working on the latter part of preparations to complete his album.”

This album will mark Jung Jinwoon’s first album after moving to Mystic Entertainment from JYP Entertainment.

Kim Tae Woo, Jo Kwon, And Yeeun To Appear As Vocal Coaches On “Unni’s Slam Dunk”

Singers Kim Tae Woo, 2AM’s Jo Kwon, and Wonder Girls’ Yeeun will be appearing as vocal coaches on the next episode of “Unni’s Slam Dunk.”

According to show affiliates on June 3, these three singers have participated in the recent recording of “Unni’s Slam Dunk” to coach Min Hyo Rin, Kim Sook, Hong Jin Kyung, Ra Mi Ran, Tiffany, and Jessi as they attempt to form their own girl group.

Since the cast’s producer is Park Jin Young, these three artists who are either currently under JYP Entertainment or were in the past have gladly volunteered to help out for the show.

You will be able to see the three appear on “Unni’s Slam Dunk” on June 3 at 11 p.m. KST.

Jeong Jinwoon Talks About His Struggle To Find His Sound In Previous Agencies

On June 9, Jeong Jinwoon held a showcase for his first maxi single “Will.” At the showcase, he revealed that he had had trouble finding the right agency to fit his music.

“I heard the word ‘no’ 99 percent of the time at JYP and Big Hit Entertainment,” he said. “It wasn’t 100 percent because at Big Hit I got to release my solo single ‘You Walking Towards Me.’”

He also shared that his music has changed from his previous acoustic guitar sound. “Park Jin Young PD told me that I had to believe in my music until the end. I was influenced by San E a lot. Park Jin Young told me that I might have to leave like San E to find success.”

Jeong Jinwoon debuted under JYP Entertainment in the ballad group 2AM and released a solo single under Big Hit Entertainment in 2011 while still under contract with JYP. In 2015 he left JYP and signed with Mystic Entertainment.

“Yoon Jong Shin [the founder of Mystic] and I talked a lot,” he shared. “When he first heard my music, he told me that there was still a lot I had to work on and we could walk that road together. He worked hard on helping me with vocal mixing and recording.”

2AM Reunites To Hold V App Broadcast For 8th Anniversary

On July 10, all four 2AM members reunited to hold a V App broadcast entitled “Homecoming Day” in commemoration of their eighth anniversary since debut.

When Jeong Jinwoon introduces himself as the maknae, Jo Kwon notes, “Our maknae is 26,” highlighting just how much time has passed.

The members also catch up with one another and bring fans up to speed on how their individual activities have been going.

“What is it like doing solo activities after being in a four-member team,” Lee Changmin asks. Jo Kwon responds, “The loneliness and stuff like that hit me during my downtime especially since I have a lot more hoobaes now.”

Jeon Jinwoon chimes in, “It’s gotten even more crowded for me since my solo album features a band.”

Jo Kwon adds, “Singing 2AM songs on music shows alone is difficult.”

Jeong Jinwoon Talks About Next Steps For 2AM

Jeong Jinwoon, who is currently active as a solo singer, appeared on the August 5 broadcast of KBS Cool FM’s “Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show” and talked about the future of his group 2AM.

“Jo Kwon hyung has recently reduced his famous “kkab” and is working on music,” he shared. Seulong hyung recently opened a pub.”

He added, “There’s a studio above the pub so we meet there to talk about 2AM’s album.”

When Park Myung Soo asks if 2AM will be promoting any time soon, Jeong Jinwoon answered, “We often meet and talk about it. I think it would be good if people anticipate it.”

Jinwoon talks possible 2AM disbandment, if he keeps in touch with 2AM, and more

2AM's Jinwoon, who is now under MYSTIC, sat down with Daily Sports for a lengthy interview session. During this extended conversation with the media outlet, Jinwoon talked about everything from upcoming albums plans to a possible 2AM disbandment. 

When the interviewer asked him whether the 2AM members talked of staying together at the same agency once their contracts were over, Jinwoon answered, "We did [talk about it]. But the four of our music preferences are so different that we naturally gravitated to different agencies. We never said it out loud but we were all probably thinking it. That there is no company that would fulfill all four of our musical preferences." 

The interviewer commented how some groups tend to disband when they go their separate ways, but Jinwoon reassured that there isn't even a "0.1% instance" of the 2AM members discussing disbandment, adding, "Because we're a vocal group, as long as there is music, I think we can always release an album."

Jinwoon was also asked what he usually talks about with the other 2AM members when he meets up with them. The singer replied honestly, "We just drink and have a good time. Most of our conversations revolve around any girls that we're into these days. We don't really talk about serious things when we haven't seen one another in a long time. We just play and tell funny stories. I see Seulong so often that I'm about to get sick of his face, but I don't get to see Jo Kwon and Changmin that often because they're so busy." 

On 2AM album plans, Jinwoon said, "Because there are no conflicts among the members, we discuss [releasing a new album] quite often. I wish that the four companies we're under would quickly pull out all the stops to get the ball rolling. 2AM can only release an album depending on how our agencies prep us for one. We don't have any specific plans right now so the idea is just sort of up in the air." 

Jinwoon also hinted at his own album, saying, "It will come out soon. I'm not sure whether it will be a mini or a single album yet, but I want to think of a story to produce one. I did retro last time, but this time around, I want to showcase a modern style band music that isn't quite following the trends."

Lee Changmin Talks Being The Worst Singer In His Family And His Famous Musician Aunt

Music runs in the blood of 2AM member Lee Changmin!

On the August 13 episode of KBS2’s “Immortal Song,” Lee Changmin talks proudly of his musically-gifted family. He shares, “Everyone in my family sings well. I’m the worst among us.”

The singer reveals, “My aunt on my father’s side was a vocal major, and my aunt from my mother’s side, as some people may know, is Yoon Yi Ji from B.B, who sang ‘From Heaven to Ground, From Star to Ground.'”

He continues, “My relatives all told me, ‘Who are you to have debuted as a singer?’ I’m the worst singer at home.”

Lee Changmin was also all praises for his juniors from boy group BTOB, who won the “Immortal Song” episode.

JYP Artists Join SM For Next SM STATION Release

JYP Entertainment will be joining SM’s next SM STATION release.

SM Entertainment said on August 11, “Jo Kwon, Min, and Girls’ Generation’sHyoyeon are working on a new song together. This song will be released through SM STATION.”

JYP’s Park Jin Young himself will be supporting the collaboration, although the specific role he will take has not been disclosed. The song is slated for a mid-August release.
