2AM’s Changmin Expected to Move on From JYP to Big Hit Entertainment

 

Earlier today there was a report that 2AM member Changmin will be signing an exclusive contract with Big Hit Entertainment now that his contract with JYP Entertainment has ended.

According to the report by Star News, Changmin’s contract with JYP ended last month after seven years with the agency and he has decided not to renew his contract. Instead, he will be signing with Big Hit Entertainment, home to idol boy group BTS, which has previously managed Changmin while he was under JYP.

A new report has come out, however, that clarifies that Changmin is still in talks with Big Hit and nothing official has been decided yet.

Earlier this year, the 2AM members decided to go their separate ways in terms of agencies with Jinwoon signing with Mystic89, Seulong signing with Sidus HQ, and Jo Kwon staying with JYP.

Jinwoon and Hyosung Join Hands to Sing Romantic Theme Song for “Law of the Jungle”

An exclusive report by TV Report has revealed that Jinwoon of 2AM andHyosung of Secret are teaming up to lend their voices to the theme song ofSBS’ “Law of the Jungle.” Jinwoon and Hyosung are currently appearing in the ‘Hidden Kingdom’ special of the variety show.

On August 4, a broadcast official shared with TV Report, “Jung Jinwoon and Jeon Hyosung will be singing ‘Fall Instinctively’ (tentative English title) based on ‘Law of the Jungle.’”

“Fall Instinctively” is said to be a sweet and romantic love song that draws out the idea that “Law of the Jungle” is all about instinct, in the same way that love happens instinctively.

The broadcast official also explained, “This new song is written by Jinwoon and Hyosung. There is a sweet atmosphere that is reminiscent of Junggigo andSoyu’s ‘Some.’”

The two singers have already wrapped up recording in the studio and the song is expected to hit the air as the theme song starting with this week’s episode of “Law of the Jungle.”

With 2AM‘s Changmin reportedly leaving JYP Entertainment, netizens criticize JYP’s management of talent.

Earlier we reported that 2AM member Changmin will be leaving JYP Entertainment. With initial reports, netizens gathered to discuss the news as former members Jinwoon andSeulong has already left, prior to news of Changmin leaving JYP Entertainment.

2AM’s Changmin is heading over to Big Hit Entertainment.

On September 1, a Big Hit Entertainment insider confirmed, “Changmin has signed an exclusive contract with Big Hit for three years. He will be continuing his performances in Homme concerts and musicals.”

Though in the past Big Hit Entertainment was in charge of Changmin’s management after being entrusted by JYP Entertainment, he is now an official member of the company.

Changmin first joined JYP Entertainment in 2008 under a seven-year contract and has performed in several fields as both a singer and musical actor. He has an upcoming Homme concert on October 9 at Baekam Art Hall.

Jokwon is now the only 2AM member to remain at JYP Entertainment. Previously, Seulong joined SidusHQ and Jinwoon joined Mystic Entertainment.

2AM′s Chang Min Signs Exclusive Contract with Big Hit

2AM′s Chang Min has signed an exclusive contract with Big Hit Entertainment. 

A rep from Big Hit stated to Newsen on September 1, "We signed an exclusive three-year contract with Chang Min this afternoon (September 1). Because we were entrusted with 2AM′s management since he was in JYP Entertainment and have been managing him until now, I think it was meant to be." 

Chang Min decided not to re-sign with JYP Entertainment when his contract expired on July 10. As such, only Jo Kwon of the four 2AM members remains at JYP Entertainment. Lim Seulong signed an exclusive contract with SidusHQ in March, while Jung Jin Woon signed an exclusive contract with Mystic Entertainment in April. All of the 2AM members are housed under different agencies seven years after their debut. 

Big Hit plans to support Chang Min in his upcoming Homme concert in October, musical and future activities. 

Meanwhile, 2AM made its debut with This Song in July 2008 and earned popularity through Never Let You Go and You Wouldn′t Answer My Calls.

Baek Ah Yeon talks about confidant Jo Kwon + wants a song from J.Y. Park

Cute solo artist Baek Ah Yeon, who recently celebrated her third anniversary, appeared on KBS 2TV's 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook' on September 11 where she talked about a wide variety of topics.

She said, "I have a musical performance ahead of me, and it's hard to explain how I feel." Label mate Jo Kwon then appeared to help her figure this out as a special guest!  She said regarding him, "Whenever a worry comes up, the very first person I tell is Jo Kwon."

He said, "I've been in JYP for 15 years, but I don't seem like an artist under JYP, rather a consultant.  There are no friends who don't get a consultation from me.  I wish they would make a separate counseling center for me," revealing that most of the trainees asked when they should debut and how much money they would make.

When asked what her latest concern was, she relayed her wishes to have double eyelids, explaining, "I am frustrating to look at and I look sleepy because I don't have double eyelids, right?"  No, you look fine the way you are, girl!

Baek Ah Yeon also repeated the story of how she came to write "Shouldn't Have," saying, "It's a song from my personal experience.  This year in January, the man I was having a 'some' relationship with hurt me, so I wrote the song while crying." Yoo Hee Yeol joked, "It's good it was a self-composition, otherwise J.Y. Park would have put his opening 'JYP' into the beginning of the song.  Think of it as a relief," but she replied, "I like that, though.  I would like for that to go into my song.   I'm the only one in the agency who has not received a song yet.  I really want a song from J.Y. Park."

2AM’s Jinwoon Is the New Ace on “The Racer”

There is a new ace in town on SBS variety show “The Racer” and it’s none other than 2AM member Jinwoon.

On the September 12 episode of “The Racer,” the cast members participated in their first elimination challenge, which involved a lap time contest.

Jung Bo Suk, Chu Sung Hoon, Jung Chan Woo, Kim Yeon Woo, Jung Hye Bin, Han Seungyeon, Jinwoon, Park Hyung Sik, Niel, and Jung Da Rae all competed to clock in the best time on a single lap around the circuit.

The racers were clearly nervous and made mistakes left and right. Even Park Hyung Sik, who impressed with his performance last week, was too ambitious and broke away from track momentarily.

On the other hand, Jinwoon approached the race with a level head and finished the race smoothly, staying on course as he was taught. His clean finish was met with admiration from everyone, and he ended in first place.

As you might know, the Korean language has both formal 'jondaemal' and informal 'banmal'. You might have also noticed that some idol members use formal language to their older members, while others use informal words.

Both Jo Kwon, the leader of 2AM and Eunkwang, the leader of BTOB talked about their opinions on what type of language maknaes should use to their leader.

MC Seo Ye Ji said to Eunkwang, "I heard that you're deeply moved when Sungjae, who's 5 years younger than you, uses jondaemal to you."

Eunkwang explained in a bright tone, "At first, when we weren't close, he used jondaemal to me. Now we're so close that he usually says, 'Hyung, let's eat, go eat,' (informally). So when he uses jondaemal to me one in a while, I become really touched."

On the other hand, Jo Kwon explained that 2AM's dynamic was quite different. He explained, "I never let Jinwoon use banmal with me. If he does use banmal, I scold him a lot."

The October 9 airing of MBC's 'Quiz to Change the World' featured the K-Entertainment world's leaders and maknae's, with guest appearances by 2AM's Jo Kwon, ZE:A's Dongjun, 4minute's Sohyun, BTOB's Eunkwang, Cross Gene's Shin, Stephanie, and Park Jung Ah.

On this episode, which proceeded under the topic of 'Leader vs. maknae,' MC Kim Gu Ra turned to Jo Kwon to comment, "Jo Kwon and Jung Ah both worked really hard to get their groups known," praising the efforts of the two leaders to transform their groups from nobodies to somebodies. Jo Kwon quipped, "I'm the one who fed them all," and brought up the times he was active as the sassy 'Kkab-kwon.' He joked, "They made me do 'kkab' so much that I threw out my back."

Han Ye Seul, Sung Joon, Jung Jin Woon Confirmed for New Drama “Madame Antoine”

Han Ye Seul, Sung Joon, and Jung Jin Woon confirmed their appearance onJTBC‘s new drama, “Madame Antoine.”

According to insiders on October 26, Han Ye Seul and Sung Joon have accepted the lead female and male roles for the new romantic comedy drama.

Han Ye Seul will play Go Hye Rim, who is a fortune teller who works under the name Madam Antoine, claiming that she has a spiritual connection with Marie Antoinette. However, although she seems to be able to tell the future, all of her fortune-telling is fake; she just has an amazing ability to read people and guess their stories.

Sung Joon is set to play Choi Soo Hyun, who is the best psychologist one can imagine. He has a traumatic past that made him indifferent to love, and he is planning a project to prove that love doesn’t exist when he meets a fake fortune teller who has the same name as his clinic, Madame Antoine.

Jung Jin Woon’s agency also confirmed that he will be returning to the small screens for the first time in over a year, “Jung Jin Woon has confirmed his appearance in JTBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Madame Antoine.’”
