Jung Hae In is not too young comparing to Nam Joo Hyuk... so kissing him intimately is still ok.

JHI also mentioned to expect a different emotions from him... we shall see.

Many choices in a row... ji min choose something anyone can relate and this time no magic.

Reminds me of the film "very ordinary couple".

@unknown12, ((shock)) ha jung woo said that?!  Film god, please put them together.  Ha Jung Woo, go meet up with Ji Min and start discussing your new thoughts of romantic film.

yes, he said it's been a while since his last romance project.

this is one of the articles, i highlighted where he said that.

Ha Jung Woo explains that even if Suzy were cast as his wife in upcoming film, he wouldn't have scenes with her

In light of his upcoming blockbuster film 'Take Point' premiering in theaters this December 26, actor Ha Jung Woo held a roundtable interview to discuss his current works, as well as upcoming works in 2019.

During the interview, Ha Jung Woo was asked if he's willing to work on any romance genres. The actor replied, "I'm extremely interested in doing a romance production, but I have no idea why all of the latest movies these days or the productions I choose are all just the wrong type," causing laughter.

The actor added, "I've been filming with all men nonstop. I'll be heading into filming for 'Baekdu Mountain' soon, but even if Suzy were to be cast as the role of my wife, what's the point? We won't meet in the movie. All of my scenes will be with Lee Byung Hun hyung, from beginning til end. Filming different scenes take place separately. They are the people who are left behind in Seoul [in the movie], and I'm on the rescue team headed to Baekdu Mountain."

Ha Jung Woo continued by addressing some of his 2019 productions, saying, "My next film 'Boston 1947' is also a movie where I bring two men on a trip to Boston. It's a mess (sigh)." Some other films Ha Jung Woo will be working on in 2019, including 'Abduction' and 'Closet', are both movies centered around predominantly male characters. The actor bemoaned, "I want to film movies like 'Autumn in New York' or 'Love Affair'. I believe my last romance was in 'Assassination' (2015). I suppose there was some in 'The Handmaiden' (2016)..."

Finally, Ha Jung Woo coined that the reason he has not been able to work on any dramas lately is due to the fact that its difficult to coordinate drama schedules with movie schedules, and added with yet another sigh, "There have been so many gem-worthy dramas while I've been doing movies..."

Previously, it was reported that Suzy was recently offered the role of Ha Jung Woo's wife in 2019 film 'Baekdu Mountain'.

@richelle, hahaha (to Jung Hae In smile alots).  Somehow with Ji Min, i felt the intimate might be less obvious.  Not sure is it her that cause director to change of mind... or just the project direction.

Eg.

The age of shadow - Gong Yoo still laments no kissing scene between them as it is cut out.

Two Lights - the director has many well known "erotic" films... but the short film is jist a peck. Haha

The most intimate scene ji min involved so far is padam padam.

I have issues with younger male actors who smile a lot lol. To the point that sometimes i find it creepy hahaha. I am currently watching a noona drama which just ended last week and goodness, the male actor there is worst compared to jhi, just my opinion. I hope the story for spring night is not about a noona romance but about just an ordinary coouple who are experiencing issues being together and planning to get married.

I think of ji min as the conservative type. And we can also see how straight forward she is, i think some find her intimidating as she always speaks her mind. I hope this new year we will be surprised not because she has a new project but because she is in a relationship:wub: yay lol

Two lights is a wholesome project so i am not surprised why there is only a peck. I enjoyed that short film:wub:

i agree her drama with the most intimate scene is padam padam. Have you seen how jung woo sung devours her lol. I am bracing myself for spring night. The director is not conservative when it comes to intimate scenes lol. Ji min needs a lot of practice hahaha

HAHAHAHAHA :D many people got irritated too by the way jung hae in got to smile a lot in his previous drama, and i think i know why, it was the script made him do it :sweatingbullets:. I know he's not a bad actor, it's just the fact she got partner up with another younger and new actor (he's considered as new), i wish her partner is someone with the experienced one, just like Ji Sung (this is why i'm not complaining). and also many has complained for the writer too, I agree with you, the writer still needs a lot of improvement. as for the director, i put my hands in the air , his previous works before pretty noona buy me food were so great, he's being partner up with writer jung sung joo was the best (i watch some his dramas, A wife's credentials was so great). It got me wonder why they didn't get to work together again, and what happen to the writer, no news of his new project?? they indeed bring out the best of each other. hope for future work of them and han ji min got to work with them.

Han ji min wants romantic genre in a movie, it reminds me of Ha jung woo's interview, he also wants to do a romantic movie in the future. what a coincidence! can i hope for this pairing next project? is it too much?? :sweatingbullets:

A wife's credentials, i like that drama too. One of the most underrated dramas in my opinion. If the writer is the same writer, i will not complain. But the previous drama SITR has a lot of story and character issues so that is my main complaint with the writer. I hope han ji min sees something in the script that made her accept it.

As the previous article on ji min said, there is an onset hierarchy for every project. I think the only advantage working with less experience actors is we are sure ji min is in the highest hierarchy. Only downside is the drama is mostly her responsibility just like Miss Baek.

Ha jung woo? Too much i think. He is too busy plus i do think he will not be making a movie that the box office is not guaranteed. As ji min said, romantic films are not too commercially viable as it used to be. Ji min is only one of those who works on projects that she believes in even if she knows that success is not guaranteed. Just like Miss Baek, that is why i have so much admiration on her as an actress:wub:

2 time travel dramas is more than enough and i am glad that ji min choose something that is hopefully a relatable drama. I think i have watched a very ordinary couple with lee min ki, right? I just don't remember the story anymore. I want something that is just ordinary, focusing on current issues with couples. I do think this drama will be the last for ji min this year. So i am hoping for it to be good since we don't know when she will be in a drama again:)

Hmmm...i don't know what to say (i'm sorry for this lil' bit off topic)... but i think you kind of underestimated Ha jung woo. as i remember, from some of his interviews he said he chose a project based on the script, if the script is fun, then he's totally in, doesn't matter what role he got. i remember he's doing PMC cos it's something new for Korean movie industry, so he wanted to do it. however, PMC was considered as a failure by many critics in korea. He had done a romcom with Gong hyo jin and romance drama with Jeon Do yeon before. I've seen Never Forever with Vera Farmiga, though this one was not commercially success, but i found the story was quite rare in a good way, and he nailed in playing that character. so imho, i think he will do any romance project as long as the script is good, the same as HJM i think. :)

^i think i have a wrong perception of him and thank you for giving me some insights of his project choices. It will be a great honor for ji min to work with him but i just don't see it coming. Hjw is just so busy with so many movie projects currently.

Looking forward to ji min's drama premiere. I don't think we will have issues with the subtitle and that is good news:)

from the trailer, i assume ever since she found the watch she can turn back time to fix things, however every time she use it there will be a consequence she will get, and based on the synopsis it will be her age i guess :sweatingbullets:. so  from previous trailer, she questioned all the things she had done, including the unrequited love that she should sacrifice for helping her dad (just my assumption from the trailers).

“Radiant” Co-Stars Nam Joo Hyuk And Han Ji Min Rave About Their Experience Working Together

Feb 8, 2019
by E. Cha

Nam Joo Hyuk and Han Ji Min, the stars of JTBC’s new drama “Radiant,” couldn’t say enough good things about each other!

“Radiant” is an upcoming fantasy drama about the love story between a woman who has the ability to travel through time, but finds herself entangled in a knotted timeline (played jointly by actresses Han Ji Min and Kim Hye Ja), and a man who carelessly throws away the brightest days of his youth by leading a torpid life (played by Nam Joo Hyuk).

On February 8, the drama unveiled new stills of stars Nam Joo Hyuk and Han Ji Min sharing a romantic moment on the roof at night. The photos capture Lee Joon Ha (played by Nam Joo Hyuk) gazing affectionately at Kim Hye Ja (played by Han Ji Min), who shyly avoids his gaze.

Han Ji Min had no shortage of praise for her co-star, enthusing, “The time I spent filming together with actor Nam Joo Hyuk made my heart flutter and feel warm. Thanks to actor Nam Joo Hyuk, who approached me first and made things comfortable, we filmed every scene happily and amiably.”

She added, “I was happy to be able to display romantic chemistry with actor Nam Joo Hyuk, who made a flawless transformation into his perfectionist character Lee Joon Ha. Even the look in his eyes changed to match his character.”

Nam Joo Hyuk similarly commented, “It was an honor to be able to work together with both Kim Hye Ja and Han Ji Min. It’s something I could never have imagined.”

He went on, “Every moment of filming was so happy and precious to me that I think all of the scenes we filmed together will remain in my memory.”

The producers of “Radiant” also attested to Han Ji Min and Nam Joo Hyuk’s chemistry, remarking, “[The drama] marks the meeting of two people who know quite a bit about portraying romantic feelings. You can safely look forward to the chemistry between the two actors, who transform even ordinary, commonplace moments into something radiant and special.”

Another great review for Miss Baek:wub:

Through Violence, Social Awareness And A Child’s Eyes, MISS BAEK Urges You To Try A Little Tenderness

I haven’t seen Han Jae-rim’s 2007 film The Show Must Go On, so far be it for me to weigh in with any pretenses on the work of its co-writer, Lee Ji-won. Therein, however, lies the added bonus of only just now getting to sample his work as I did this week with his feature directing debut, Miss Baek, a film that rightly validates the ceremony that’s been much ado at festivals of late in Korea, Tokyo, the UK and as of last week, right here in New York City.

RelatedPosts

Opening the New York Asian Film Festival’s inaugural Winter Showcase last week, the emotional journey Miss Baek takes you on is one that so fittingly tackles some important themes and issues regarding poverty and the 99% among which our own Baek Sang-ah (Han Ji-min) is a part of. Abandoned by her abusive mother at a young age and ostracized by the system, Sang-ah now lives out her rocky relationship with her boyfriend Jang-sub (Lee Hee-joon), a detective who took her in after she served time for killing her would-be rapist.

Sang-ah’s trauma is the foundation of her angst and reluctance to care much else about others, a fact she conveys consistently through her callous, wry veneer. Before long, her emotional barriers endure their biggest test yet when she decides to share a meal with Ji-eun (Kim Shi-ah), a disheveled hungry 9-year old girl she spots standing alone in the cold, dead of night and wearing not much else but lots of bruises. When Mi-kyung (Kwon So-hyun), a woman believed to be Ji-eun’s stepmother arrives and picks her up, Sang-ah is clearly aware of its troublesome air. Nonetheless, she remains only as receptive as she can allow herself to be given the circumstances, on top of her emotions now mixing over the fact that she rather prefers to look after herself at this point.

Still, the unsure feeling this chance meeting produces is enough to warrant caution for Sang-ah, bookended by repeated sightings of Ji-eun in the street which spark her increasing involvement and sense of urgency. Things reach a boiling point when she is brought face to face in front of law enforcement with Ji-eun’s visibly abusive father, Il-gong (Baek Soo-jang) and his insidious, malevolent girfriend revealed to be Mi-kyung.

Despite her best efforts and as much as Mi-kyung attempts at trying to frame Sang-ah as a child kidnapper, the bureaucracy of filing a police report and the ever-present and conciliatory police inaction become quite clear. Instead, what follows, in perhaps one of the film’s most stunning and powerful moments, ultimately brings Sang-ah to unearth her maternal instincts and find the courage to act on Ji-eun’s faint, desperate cries for help before it’s too late.

MISS BAEK M-Line Distribution

Miss Baek prefaces itself as a film based on a true story adapted for the screen with certain changes. It’s an understandable concept that such a story as this one warrants that kind of disclaimer drawn from its attention toward the chilling nature of the very real subject matter the film centers on.

By spotlighting the all-too familiar consequences faced by children who are mistreated and left nowhere to turn, Lee masterfully crafts the omnious parallel between Sang-ah and Ji-eun that drives the story with such stimulus and pathos. Lee further builds on this element through pertinent flashbacks to Sang-ah’s tainted, foreboding youth with her mother, played by actress Jang Young-nam, and the film’s grisly opener is a testament to how this pans out.Miss Baek takes vast, compelling shape with its gripping performances and dialogue, and an enthralling score from composers Lee Eun-joo and MOWG that lends a more-than-discernible impression on its audience. Exemplary of this is what we see well into the first-half of the film between Ji-eun’s burgeoning bond with Sang-ah, and her haunting, oppressed and shackeled existence at home where it then seems her days are evermore numbered than before.

A subversive, smartly-shot and executed indie drama, Miss Baek doesn’t hold back. Characteristic of any notable drama of its kind, Miss Baek hands you a cinematic experience that lays the poignant, arresting groundwork for a triumphant, signature finish in Lee’s winning debut. Han Ji-min’s starring performance is one of the most stellar you’ll ever see in film, and her shared time on screen with Kim Shi-ah’s moving recital as Ji-eun will leave your heart melting through as the end credits roll.

“Radiant” Cast Shares Drama’s Key Points + Previews Strong Chemistry

Feb 10, 2019
by L. Kim

The cast of “Radiant” is raising anticipation for the drama with their input on its key points.

“Radiant” is an upcoming fantasy drama about the love story between a woman who has the ability to travel through time but finds herself entangled in a twisted timeline (played jointly by actresses Han Ji Min and Kim Hye Ja) and a man who carelessly throws away the brightest days of his youth by leading a torpid life (played by Nam Joo Hyuk).

Veteran actress Kim Hye Ja described her new character of the same name as “a turbulent role.” She said, “I feel like I’ve been living my life again through ‘Hye Ja’. I hope a lot of people will remember ‘Radiant’. You will be able to feel like you’re seeing your own life while laughing out loud. I hope it will be a time when you can reflect on your life.”

Han Ji Min, who also plays Kim Hye Ja, couldn’t hide her excitement about the upcoming drama. She shared, “At 9:30 p.m. tomorrow night, the dazzling drama ‘Radiant’ that will warm your hearts will finally begin. I’m nervous because I can tell you the story of Hye Ja who is trapped in tangled time. I ask you to give a lot of attention to her special story.”

Han Ji Min said the key points of this drama are change, time, and empathy. She explained, “You will be able to see me as a different character than what I have shown you so far. This drama is about the preciousness of time that we take for granted. I want you to look forward to the moment of empathy that the special ability to turn time will give you.”

Nam Joo Hyuk plays Lee Joon Ha, an aspiring reporter. Though he is perfect in every way from his looks to his resume, he suddenly throws away the bright times given to him and lives a lethargic life. The actor said, “Lee Joon Ha is a likely figure in our own lives. I made an effort for him to gain sympathy from the viewers. I hope many of you will be comforted and healed through ‘Radiant’.”

Son Ho Jun takes on the role of Kim Hye Ja’s older brother Kim Young Soo, who isn’t bogged down by time and is full of mischief. He is expected to create sibling chemistry with both Kim Hye Ja and Han Ji Min.

Son Ho Jun commented, “I am happy and excited to be part of ‘Radiant’. It is a drama full of touching moments and laughter. I will be playing Kim Young Soo, a jobless oddball. I will be in charge of laughter, so I hope you laugh a lot and enjoy it.” Then he shared a key point of the drama, saying, “Amidst warm and ordinary daily life, an unpredictable story will unfold. I want you to keep an eye on some of the most extraordinary things that will add to the fun of the drama.”

Radiant.jpeg

On top of the key points, “Radiant” unveiled new stills of Kim Hye Ja, Han Ji Min, and Son Ho Jun.

In the drama, the three of them play siblings with surprising chemistry. The new photos display Son Ho Jun with both the younger and older versions of the character Kim Hye Ja.

First of all, Han Ji Min can be seen holding a ballpoint pen to correct her pronunciation in order to fulfill her dream of becoming a brilliant reporter. While she is pursuing her dreams with zeal, her brother is busy taping his door to avoid their mother’s nagging and back slaps while he secretly enjoys eating pork belly by himself.

In another photo, Son Ho Jun is forcing Kim Hye Ja to do a physical test in order to find out her physical age. She looks exhausted in her gray sweats while he is full of energy and youth.

Han-Ji-Min-Son-Ho-Jun-Kim-Hye-Ja.jpg

The production crew said, “The passionate acting of the actors who put on realistic performances gives pleasant laughter. From the ordinary life of a brother and sister to a special routine with the aged Hye Ja, they will express warm and precious moments and deliver laughter and touching moments [to the viewers].”

“Radiant” premieres on February 11 at 9:30 p.m. KST and will be available with English subtitles on Viki.

Han Ji Min Shares Thoughts On Her 12-Year Age Gap With “Radiant” Co-Star Nam Joo Hyuk

Han Ji Min Shares Thoughts On Her 12-Year Age Gap With “Radiant” Co-Star Nam Joo Hyuk

Feb 11, 2019
by D. S.kim

On February 11, Han Ji Min attended the press conference for JTBC’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Radiant” along with her co-stars Nam Joo Hyuk, Kim Hye Ja, Kim Ga Eun, Son Ho Jun, and director Kim Seok Yoon.

When asked about her chemistry with her co-star Nam Joo Hyuk who is 12 years her junior, Han Ji Min commented, “To be honest, I try not to acknowledge the age gaps between me and junior actors on set. It’s because when I work together with senior actors, they also let me film at ease.”

The actress continued, “We both put effort to avoid any uncomfortable or difficult situations that might happen because Nam Joo Hyuk is younger than me. Instead of treating him as a junior, I see him as a colleague and was able to have fun while filming.”

“Radiant” will tell the story of Kim Hye Ja, a woman with the ability to travel through time who turns into an old woman in her 70s after an unfortunate accident. Han Ji Min and Kim Hye Ja will both play the role of Kim Hye Ja, while Nam Joo Hyuk plays Lee Joon Ha, a man who carelessly throws away the brightest days of his youth by leading a torpid life.

“Radiant” will premiere on February 11 at 9:30 p.m. KST, and it will also be available on Viki!
