*** The main cast of “Good Job” has shared their final farewells! Jung Il Woo started off by saying, “My memories with each and every actor and staff member who was with us from our script reading, to filming, to the finale, are still so vivid.” He then added that every person he met through “Good Job” and every moment he shared with them on set was special to him. Jung Il Woo concluded, “I want to share a message of gratitude to viewers, who were with us until the end. Thanks to viewers, I was even happier and the love and attention you sent was a ‘good job’ that couldn’t have been better. I sincerely thank you.”   It's a good show with good chemistry.

Jung Il Woo On His Positive Reaction To “Good Job” Airing After “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” Praise For Co-Star Yuri, And More

Jung Il Woo has recently talked about “Good Job,” sustaining injuries on set, his chemistry with Girls’ Generation’s Yuri, and more!

Jung Il Woo’s latest drama “Good Job” is an ENA mystery romance drama where he played Eun Sun Woo, a chaebol heir who leads a double life as a detective. The drama also starred Girls’ Generation’s Yuri as Don Se Ra, a woman with superhuman vision. On September 29, the drama aired its series finale to a slight ratings increase.

On the drama’s conclusion, Jung Il Woo shared, “I had wanted to do a romance project for awhile so I was waiting. I think I’ve done a novel plot and a character I wanted to try to my heart’s content. As we finished well without any big incidents, I’m personally satisfied.”

Jung Il Woo explained that he found it difficult to find a balance between the various genres in “Good Job” and continued, “In the hospital scene, I run up to Yuri saying ‘Honey~,’ which was an improvisation. I worried whether it was too extreme or if it ruined my character, but I think that’s the point of our drama.” Laughing, he added, “Kind of a sick taste.”

“Good Job” aired following the conclusion of ENA’s hit series “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” and Jung Il Woo was asked whether he felt any pressure due to the previous drama’s massive success. “I responded positively,” Jung Il Woo shared. “Thanks to ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo,’ the ENA channel became more recognized, and naturally, our drama became more recognized too. I believe that was thanks to ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo.'”

He continued, “It’d be a lie to say there was no pressure but those aspects felt positive too and I thought that the channel no longer mattered. Even when I filmed ‘Bossam: Steal the Fate,’ I worried because people around me didn’t really watch MBN dramas, but viewership ratings went up to almost 10 percent. As long as a project is good, it will spread through word of mouth, so I don’t think it matters where it’s broadcasted.”

For the 12 episodes of “Good Job,” the cast and crew filmed diligently for about a year. Jung Il Woo explained, “As we edited the script a lot, we did a lot of retakes.” He then revealed, “I didn’t know there’d be so much action. While filming the scene where I was on a motorcycle, I tore two ankle ligaments. I couldn’t even walk so I couldn’t film for about a month. Now, I’ve recovered a lot. I filmed carefully.”

After starring in MBN’s “Bossam: Steal the Fate” together, Jung Il Woo and Yuri quickly reunited for “Good Job,” their second project in a row. Jung Il Woo talked about how the second time was much more comfortable and shared, “Since there were no kiss scenes in ‘Bossam: Steal the Fate,’ the director of ‘Good Job’ prepared a lot on set to film our kiss scene prettily. It was the director’s idea to sit on the desk then on the knee and I think that was captured well.”

He continued to praise his co-star, sharing, “Yuri leads well. She told me, ‘this is when you have to hold my hand and take me along.’ Yuri is positive and she has an incredibly active attitude towards acting. She shares a lot of ideas and has ambition.”

Jung Il Woo also elaborated on his worries about reuniting with Yuri, saying, “When the director first recommended Yuri, I was worried. Because our last project did so well.” He then added, “I thought that Yuri’s typical charms were captured sufficiently in the character of Don Se Ra. When reading the script, at the beginning, you feel a lot more charm from Se Ra than Sun Woo, so I actively told Yuri that I thought she would do well in the role. I’m thankful that she adapted so well and I want to tell her that she worked hard.”

Given their incredible on-screen chemistry, Jung Il Woo was also inevitably asked about viewers speculating about their real-life relationship. The actor firmly responded, “[Yuri is] a good colleague and friend.”

Jung Il Woo On His Positive Reaction To “Good Job”

@backstreetboysfan, thank you for the article. I enjoyed this Drama and seeing Jung Il Woo and Kwon Yuri again. I will be ready for yet another re-union in the future...

Below is another article about it.

For actor Jung Il-woo, his recent role as a detective-cum-CEO in ENA's comedy detective series, "Good Job," was an opportunity to explore his creative freedom.

"I feel like I did everything I've wanted to do with this series," the actor told The Korea Times in a recent interview at a cafe in central Seoul. "'Good Job' had such a unique concept and gave me a chance to play the character that I wanted. The series has wrapped up on a good note, so I'm personally satisfied."

The 12-part series, which ended last Thursday, revolves around the owner of a large conglomerate, Eun Seon-woo (Jung), who has both good looks and brains. He lives a double life, secretly running a private detective office.

One day, he comes across poor but high-spirited Don Se-ra (Kwon Yu-ri), who possesses incredible vision. The two join forces to solve cases, including the mysterious death of Seon-woo's mother, who passed away when he was young.

Jung said that he tried to separate the characters' two different lives: as a successful, wealthy CEO and as a versatile undercover detective.

"I tried to have different portrayals as the detective and as the CEO, setting a different tone in speech and in the clothing style between the two," he said.

The actor added that he had come up with a lot of ideas for his detective character, such as styling or special makeup for his disguise, and even going shopping for the props himself.

"I had quite a scene where I had to wear special makeup (to go undercover). And as the episodes went on, I put in a lot of thought. For a disguise as an elderly man, I suggested using the reference of Tom Cruise from 'Mission Impossible,' and tried a Korean American look for the scene at the casino," he said, adding that he felt confident in comedy since hosting an episode of "SNL Korea."

"I feel like I've gained confidence after doing 'SNL Korea.' I've learned to let myself cut loose. So when I did this series, it wasn't hard for me to take on scenes that might feel overwhelming," he said.

Jung expressed that he had such great chemistry with the director and co-stars, including Kwon, whom he has reunited with since last year's period romance series, "Bossam: Steal the Fate."

"We would discuss and change the lines or scenes together on set with the director, like playing with improv," he said. "For every episode, the actors would chip in their ideas and have fun with it. It felt like we were working on a student project again. The director welcomed our opinions so it was interesting that we developed it together."

Despite the good chemistry with Kwon, he shared that he was worried at first as they have recently worked together for a different series.

"We hit it off well and had great chemistry. But I was also worried when I heard that we would be working together again because the audiences loved our characters from 'Bossam' but there's a difference between the period drama and this series. So I wasn't sure if we could meet their expectations again," he said, adding that he soon felt confident once the filming started.

"We would meet together frequently to read our lines and share ideas together. We've grown closer and all the actors generally had such great chemistry with each other."
