TVING’s upcoming drama “Death’s Game” has unveiled a glimpse of Lee Do Hyun’s character!

 

Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Death’s Game” tells the story of a man who gets more than one second chance at life after facing death. Park So Dam will play the role of Death, who sentences a man named Choi Yi Jae (Seo In Guk) to 12 cycles of life and death.

 

Lee Do Hyun, who previously worked with “Death’s Game” director Ha Byung Hoon on the hit drama “18 Again,” is said to have proved his loyalty by agreeing to appear in the upcoming drama for his final role before enlisting in the military.

 

Director Ha Byung Hoon even revealed, “When I was writing the script, I already had Lee Do Hyun in mind while writing the character of Jang Gun Woo.”

 

 

In the drama, Jang Gun Woo is a handsome model and heartthrob who attracts attention everywhere he goes for his eye-catching looks. With his ability to transform any location into a runway, Jang Gun Woo has always lived his life surrounded by admirers.

 

Although he does not have any particular talent or life goals, Jang Gun Woo’s life has been smooth sailing due to his handsome face, which has earned him not only lots of money but also the love of countless women.

TVING has released an action-packed trailer and group poster for its upcoming drama “Death’s Game”!

Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Death’s Game” tells the story of a man who gets more than one second chance at life after facing death. Park So Dam will play the role of Death, who sentences a man named Choi Yi Jae (Seo In Guk) to 12 cycles of life and death.

The new trailer begins with Death announcing her punishment for Choi Yi Jae, who has attempted to take his own life before it was his time. “You will die 12 times in the future,” she declares as she holds him by the throat over a sea of blood. “And, no matter what body you wake up in, you will die no matter what.”

Then, as she lets go, the trailer reveals glimpses of the 12 different faces that Choi Yi Jae will wear as he goes about living his 12 doomed lives.

When Choi Yi Jae initially wakes up and finds himself in someone else’s body (played by Choi Siwon), he looks in the mirror and exclaims in shock, “What is this face? This isn’t my face.” Meanwhile, Death continues her cruel pronouncement, warning, “You will be cut, sliced, crushed, and burned. Feel for yourself how painful and agonizing death is.”

Choi Yi Jae tearfully asks her, “What did I do wrong to deserve this?!” In response, Death steps on his face and replies, “The crime of coming to meet me before I went to find you.” However, Death still provides Choi Yi Jae with a shred of hope, promising, “But if you manage to avoid death in someone else’s body, you will live the rest of your live with that body.”

Amidst flashes of a thrilling fight scene, Choi Yi Jae expresses admiration for one of his bodies that turns out to be impressively athletic. He then says to himself, “Maybe this is actually an opportunity.”

The trailer ends with Choi Yi Jae falling from the sky with a bullet wound in his forehead—before dramatically opening his eyes and deciding, “I can’t die like this.”

The upcoming TVING original series, Death's Game, is the story of Choi Yi Jae (Seo In Guk), a perennially unemployed man struggling in all spheres of life, who goes through the cycle of life and death 12 times as a punishment from Death (Park So Dam) before falling into hell.

Sung Hoon portrays the adventurous sportsman Song Jae Seop, who has lived a life taking risks. 

To give a realistic portrayal of the character, Sung Hoon dedicated his weekends to practicing at the skydiving center and, as disclosed by the production team, also skydived more than ten times on the day of shooting. The actor's performance is worth looking forward to.

Seo In-gook fights for survival twelve times in Death’s Game

The latest teaser for TVING’s Death’s Game continues the drama’s promotional run of doing what it does best: highlighting the star-studded cast and high-stakes premise.

The concept is simple enough: Seo In-gook (Cafe Minamdang) plays Yi-jae. He’s single, jobless, and a recent victim of a crypto scam that drained all his savings. Ready to call it quits on life, he jumps off a building, only to find Death, played by Park So-dam (Record of Youth), on the other side. She’s pissed he would treat his life so lightly, so as punishment, he is cursed to be reborn in 12 bodies, all of them fated for some kind of unfortunate end. The catch is that if he can evade his fated death in one of those bodies, he’ll be allowed to live the rest of his life in that body

 

 

 

The teaser itself is more of the same as previous versions. Death dangles Yi-jae off a cliff where skeleton monsters wait at the bottom. She drops him, and he regains his bearings in a prison cell as Lee Jae-wook (Alchemy of Souls 2), in a plane as Choi Siwon (Work Later, Drink Now 2), and in an interrogation room as Jang Seung-jo (Strangers Again). The clock has begun. We see a few of the gruesome deaths Yi-jae will have to undergo: dismemberment, falling out of a plane, getting shot, and burning up to a crisp. All the while, we hear a voiceover conversation where he cries out to Death, “What did I do to deserve this?” She responds, “This is for coming to me before I came to get you. But if you escape me in one of these bodies, I’ll let you live.”

While this proposition might be attractive when he’s in the body of the mega-agile Lee Jae-wook or the mega-attractive Go Yoon-jung (Moving), it’s notably less so when he’s in, say, the body of bullied high-schooler Kim Kang-hoon (Reborn Rich). But as he goes through each iteration of himself, Yi-jae finds more conviction in his will to live: “This is an opportunity. I’m not gonna die like this.” This all culminates in the final scene where he drops in on Death and grabs her gun, aims it at her head, and pulls the trigger as the screen goes black. Looks like two can play at this game after all.

Directed and adapted by Ha Byung-hoon (18 Again, Go Back Spouses), Death’s Game will be available for streaming on TVING on December 15.

Cho Tae Sang used to be an aspiring martial artist who gave up on his childhood dream due to the impoverished conditions of his household. Living aimlessly, he awaits his release after being imprisoned for some reason.

The released photos depict Cho Tae Sang exuding a calm demeanor within the prison. Even among the numerous prisoners, he does not have any shred of fear. It raises the question of whether Cho Tae Sang can survive in the harsh environment and be released unscathed.

Interestingly, Lee Jae Wook reportedly performed most of the 8-on-1 prison fight scenes himself. His preparation at an action school before filming allowed him to tackle a majority of action sequences, including fight scenes, without a stunt double, showcasing his dedication and passion.

Besides action, Lee Jae Wook is expected to portray the emotional depth of his character in Death's Game. With the harsh prison as the backdrop, viewers will also see moments capturing him shedding tears after removing the prisoner's uniform.

What would you do if you met your ex-girlfriend but in a different body? That is the question Death’s Game poses to its protagonist Choi Yi-jae played by Seo In-gook (Cafe Minamdang). A down-on-his-luck man who commits suicide, Yi-jae finds himself trapped in a twisted game with Park So-dam (Record of Youth) who plays Death, and he must find a way to live lest he meet twelve unfortunate ends.

The latest clip for the upcoming thriller has a shift in tone, and instead of showcasing every single face from its star-studded lineup, it focuses on three characters: Seo In-gook as Choi Yi-jae, Lee Do-hyun (The Good Bad Mother) as Jang Gun-woo, and Go Yoon-jung (Moving) as Lee Ji-soo. While Yi-jae is occupying Gun-woo’s body as part of his punishment, Ji-soo enters the café where he works. He stares at her, frozen in place, and memories from a happier time come flooding back to him.

 

 

The scene switches to the past and reveals the moment the ex-lovers first met. While Ji-soo walks across a bridge, the wind carries her manuscript away along with the cherry blossoms. The papers land in front of Yi-jae, and he hears Ji-soo call out to him. She tells him that she will come down to pick them up, and when she smiles at him, it is evident that Yi-jae has fallen in love.

Returning to the present, Yi-jae watches Ji-soo slowly approach him, and though he remembers her, she only sees him as Gun-woo. It seems Death wants to torture our protagonist emotionally as well as physically with these twelve lives.

Directed and adapted by Ha Byung-hoon (18 Again, Go Back Spouses), TVING’s Death’s Game is slated for eight episodes and will drop the first half on December 15 and the second half next year on January 5.

Jung Gyu Cheol is a man from an ordinary family who believes he has some special talent and a unique aesthetic sensibility. One day, he, by chance, sees a scene on the road, gets inspired by it and captures it on canvas. This painting is gaining acclaim overseas for depicting the cruelty deep within the human psyche.

The latest teaser for TVING’s Death’s Game continues the drama’s promotional run of doing what it does best: highlighting the star-studded cast and high-stakes premise.

The concept is simple enough: Seo In-gook (Cafe Minamdang) plays Yi-jae. He’s single, jobless, and a recent victim of a crypto scam that drained all his savings. Ready to call it quits on life, he jumps off a building, only to find Death, played by Park So-dam (Record of Youth), on the other side. She’s pissed he would treat his life so lightly, so as punishment, he is cursed to be reborn in 12 bodies, all of them fated for some kind of unfortunate end. The catch is that if he can evade his fated death in one of those bodies, he’ll be allowed to live the rest of his life in that body

 

 

 

The teaser itself is more of the same as previous versions. Death dangles Yi-jae off a cliff where skeleton monsters wait at the bottom. She drops him, and he regains his bearings in a prison cell as Lee Jae-wook (Alchemy of Souls 2), in a plane as Choi Siwon (Work Later, Drink Now 2), and in an interrogation room as Jang Seung-jo (Strangers Again). The clock has begun. We see a few of the gruesome deaths Yi-jae will have to undergo: dismemberment, falling out of a plane, getting shot, and burning up to a crisp. All the while, we hear a voiceover conversation where he cries out to Death, “What did I do to deserve this?” She responds, “This is for coming to me before I came to get you. But if you escape me in one of these bodies, I’ll let you live.”

While this proposition might be attractive when he’s in the body of the mega-agile Lee Jae-wook or the mega-attractive Go Yoon-jung (Moving), it’s notably less so when he’s in, say, the body of bullied high-schooler Kim Kang-hoon (Reborn Rich). But as he goes through each iteration of himself, Yi-jae finds more conviction in his will to live: “This is an opportunity. I’m not gonna die like this.” This all culminates in the final scene where he drops in on Death and grabs her gun, aims it at her head, and pulls the trigger as the screen goes black. Looks like two can play at this game after all.

Directed and adapted by Ha Byung-hoon (18 Again, Go Back Spouses), Death’s Game will be available for streaming on TVING on December 15.
