[Drama 2023] Numbers, 넘버스

I managed to finish all 6 available episodes. I don`t like revenge dramas but I like this kind of dramas, corporate battles with the twists and turns and inside battles. This drama doesn`t bring something new. Put the accounting instead of lawyers or other economic background profession and we`ll have the same drama about rich people and their power battle. But I am not compaining. I like this kind of dramas, as I said.

I don`t understand anything about the businesses and when I see the characters (especially Jang Ho-Woo ) looking at papers and suddenly come up with a plan is hilariously for me.  Speaking of him. WOW, another genius young man in kdramas. A rookie accountant after a few years in school, with no work experience whatsoever, manages to intervene in key decisions and became so important in the firm. WOW. I believe it, show. :surprisedwut:

The introduction of Jang Ji-Soo character doesn`t work for me. She was an ordinary woman, a literature graduate (something like that) and after 5 years she came back a total different woman, a cold rich business woman who in the company's hierarchy by her own merits. WOW. And if everyone is right and she had a baby too.... Yes show, I believe it.

I don`t take things seriously. I don`t like how they make Ho-Woo so quickly relevant to the big decission of the firm or the revenge angle but I like seeing him resolve various issues. How he managed to bring the confirmation document, how he made influenced the audit guy to do the right decission, I like seeing him with his friends or Yeon-A and I like the relationship between him and Han Seung-Jo.

I hope Seung Jo will resolve this problems with his ex. I don`t like her (or better say... I don`t like the cliche story for her) and I don`t like how he became more involved in the story just because his ex girlfriend appeared on the scene but I wish they will heal. Maybe Seung Joo needed a push to became more active.  I also like to see more of Seung Joo and Hoo woo dynamic. Add Yeon A.  I like this trio and I hope to see more of them.

I don`t like Han Je-Kyun but I don`t hate him. I thought Sim Hyeong-Woo could be an interesting character but no... the drama wants him two-dimensional. Let the good guys win but...I do not have a stake in this story. Let see how things will go from here.

Numbers: Episodes 5-6

by alathe

What’s the worst place you could run into your ex? A board meeting certainly ranks. A rooftop may, in fact, be worse. One thing’s for sure: our steely-eyed heroine has more schemes up her sleeve than her ex-fiancé has skeptical expressions… and the two are about to collide.

EPISODES 5-6

They weren’t kidding about that brooch. Ji-soo — or, rather, Joyce — is merciless. She waits until Ho-woo has finished his presentation before cutting him to shreds. The plan he’s outlined to save Soma Tech depends on periodic loans. If taking someone’s money is a crime, she says, airily, then this is like murder. A blind racehorse never wants to be put down. But it can’t see the bigger picture. Wounded by this volley of hilariously brutal analogies, Ho-woo stares at his noona in disbelief. He’d sort of thought she might be proud of him. So much for that.

Meanwhile, Seung-jo’s kicked-puppy look has reached epic proportions. As soon as the meeting finishes — game, set, and match to Joyce Jang — he drags her by the arm to his one place of comfort: the roof. Then, he hugs her, hard. In his eyes lurks the condensed pathos of 101 dalmatians, each one limping. Alas, it seems Ji-soo is not a dog person. She slaps him. How dare he worry about her after sabotaging her father! The Ji-soo he once knew is dead. And now the resurrected Joyce is ready to kick financial RickRoll'D, destroy priceless artwork, and glare eye-daggers at Vice President Han — who’s torn between dislike and respect.

Ho-woo is at his wit’s end. After an impromptu lecture from Yeon-ah, he learns why HK Equity wants to drag Soma to bankruptcy court: to guzzle up the firm with its debts already cleared. And so, he invades Ji-soo’s hotel room, announcing a desperate gambit. On his laptop are the blueprints for Soma’s 3D printing tool. If she doesn’t reconsider, he’ll publish it open-source, rendering Soma worthless prey. Alas, if there’s one thing Ji-soo knows, it’s financial chicken: she refuses to budge.

Ji-soo’s tenacity proves near fatal for Soma’s CEO. Plunged into despair, he overdoses on pills. In a flurry of reawakened trauma, Ho-woo calls for an ambulance. Meanwhile, we learn there’s more to Ji-soo than immaculate fashion sense and fabulous comebacks. The next time we see her, she’s weeping behind her sunglasses before her father’s ashes. Afterwards, she runs smack into Ho-woo. They sit outside on separate benches. Haebit’s destruction, Ho-woo announces, wasn’t Seung-jo’s fault. His report was secretly altered — and Jisan turned a blind eye. As for Soma’s CEO? He’ll survive… just. That man was weak, Ji-soo cuts in. Ho-woo, sensing the subtext, firmly disagrees. The CEO fought till the end, under immense strain. The same was true of Mr. Jang.

Later, Ho-woo tries to rattle Seung-jo out of his Ji-soo-induced agony. Isn’t this the part where they save the day through unlikely teamwork? Alas, it seems they can’t bromance their way out of this one: Seung-jo has a very busy brooding schedule, and is fresh out of starry-eyed idealism. But inspiration strikes during a chat with Yeon-ah. It’s a shame, she chuckles, that you can’t pawn a company like a watch. Ho-woo stops, seizes her by the shoulders, and thanks her profusely. Leaving her much-flustered, he races to the patent office… where someone has beaten him to the punch. Someone tall, sardonic, and puppy-eyed!

Ji-soo, Vice President Han, and CHAIRMAN JIN TAE-SOO (Kang Shin-il) of Jisan gather to discuss how they might best devour Soma. Ji-soo eyes Chairman Jin with distaste, remembering Ho-woo’s warning. But before she can do anything, in strides Seung-jo, looking very smug indeed. He’s armed, as ever, with paper! As of today, Soma’s debt has been entirely repaid. Enter Ho-woo, looking equally delighted. Soma’s 3D tech has been pledged to the patent office, and the loan is enough to soak up their debts. The boys are back in action: foiling schemes and doling out justice through zany financial loopholes!

‘Numbers’ Review: Three Reasons Why It’s Unfamiliar Yet Captivating

Edited by Hwang Hong Sun

Translated by by Kim Hoyeun

While we often find dramas delving into the world of professional vocations, they tend to primarily focus on doctors, lawyers, or their ilk. MBC’s weekend drama Numbers piques viewer curiosity by highlighting the rather uncharted profession of accountants. This audacious endeavor is a rarity in K-dramas and comes with its own set of concerns: Won’t the complexity and novelty of the subject matter deter viewers? Fortunately, you can tuck away such worries. Each episode offers a suspense-ridden story and impassioned performances, resulting in a viewing experience as exhilarating as any top-notch thriller. Let’s examine what draws audiences into this drama.

The Hidden Stories Behind the Numbers

Numbers chronicles the journey of high school graduate-turned-accountant Jang Ho Woo (Kim Myung Soo), who takes a stand against the injustices of a massive accounting firm. An orphan, Ho Woo successfully prepares to step into society thanks to the benevolence of In Ho, the CEO of Haetbit Construction. However, he loses everything in an instant. After a company named Taeil Accounting Firm issues a report demanding the liquidation of Haetbit Construction, In Ho commits suicide and his network of associates disperse. Incensed by Taeil Accounting Firm’s role in this tragedy, Ho Woo becomes an accountant and resolves to unearth the conspiracy surrounding Haetbit’s liquidation.

The drama focuses on the lives of those who stake their existence on numbers. Accountants, often considered to prioritize numbers over people, prove that their evaluations extend beyond mere digits. They hold the future of a company, its employees, and stakeholders in their hands, reflecting the immense responsibility that comes with their role. This is why they are known as “certified public accountants (CPA),” symbolizing their commitment to fairness and public interest. The drama fervently unfolds the world of accountants, revealing the plots concealed behind the numbers and the relentless pursuit of truth by those who challenge these ploys. By portraying characters who either abandon their professional calling for personal gain or steadfastly uphold their integrity in the face of pressure, Numbers imbues the narrative with intrigue and conflict.

Bromance

One of the most striking elements in Numbers is the bromance between two men, who, despite their initial animosity, unite in pursuit of a common goal. This is about Jang Ho Woo, who joins Taeil Accounting Firm to uncover the truth behind In Ho’s death, and his senior manager Han Seung Jo (Choi Jin Hyuk), who handpicked him.

Ho Woo’s initial encounter with Seung Jo was far from pleasant, as Seung Jo was the accountant who appeared on the day of Sunlight Construction’s dissolution. It was Seung Jo who advised Ho Woo, who was throwing a fit at the scene, that “your anger is merely a powerless opinion.” However, when Ho Woo takes this advice to heart and becomes an accountant, they transition from adversaries to allies in a shared cause. Actually, Seung Jo has his own reasons to topple the reign of his father, Han Jae Gyun (Choi Min Soo), who is the deputy head of the same company as his ambitions cost Seung Jo his love and professional honor. And for this job, he chooses Ho Woo as his partner.

The duo’s chemistry brings an effervescent dynamic to the drama. While Ho Woo is always upbeat and affable, Seung Jo is cold and calculating. The contrasting personalities provide humorous episodes that serve to lighten the otherwise intense atmosphere. The different problem-solving approaches the pair employ is also fascinating. Ho Woo disrupts the status quo with his reckless choices and creative ideas, while Seung Jo lends support and shields him from adversarial forces. Their contentious yet resilient bromance doubles the drama’s charm.

Complex but Accessible

Numbers portrays the role of accountants, chiefly translating the value of a company into numbers and terms. While complex economic terms and figures occasionally make appearances, they are always accompanied by easy-to-understand explanations in subtitles. More importantly, it keeps the focus by presenting corporate buyouts and sell-offs through clear monetary values and accounting reports. Ho Woo and Seung Jo’s thrilling takedowns of those manipulating company values for personal gain, backed by solid evidence and logic, are electrifying. The duo’s performance, grounded in tangible data, comes across as impressively realistic.

Despite tackling a subject with a high barrier to entry, Numbers does not compromise on the fun and tension inherent in office dramas. The clash of desires and values amongst the characters paints a comprehensible picture of the world of accountants and the broader economic society, prompting viewers to ponder on the drama’s message. The unfolding narrative of this drama, which highlights the value of corporations hidden behind numbers and, even more importantly, the value of individuals, is eagerly anticipated.

4 Times Kim Myung Soo, Yeonwoo, And Choi Jin Hyuk Get The Upper Hand In Episodes 5-6 Of “Numbers”

Jul 15, 2023
by shalini

Numbers” brings a convoluted pair of episodes this week rife with changing loyalties, new faces, and devious schemes. Jang Ho Woo (Kim Myung Soo) and Han Seung Jo (Choi Jin Hyuk) are in over their heads and fighting too many enemies at once. But the worst betrayals are from those they used to call friend, and Ho Woo and Seung Jo no longer know who fits that label.

Warning: spoilers for episodes 5-6 below.

1. Telling Joyce Jang the truth about Je Gyun

choi-jin-hyuk-kim-yoo-ri-2.jpg

Accounting is a complex science, and while the show does a great job of highlighting just how easy it is to use numbers to perform almost every illegal act one can think of, it can get a little twisty when it comes to the scheming. This is one of them. Joyce Jang (Kim Yoo Ri), formerly known as Jang Ji Soo, Seung Jo’s ex-fiancée, is out for blood. Seung Jo’s blood. Having never asked him the truth, and with Seung Jo having felt too guilty to give it to her, she’s resented him all these years and has turned into a monster in her efforts to take him down. Beginning with Soma Tech.

kim-yoo-ri-1.jpg

Like her father, Jang In Ho’s (Nam Myung Ryul) construction company, Soma Tech uses concrete 3D printing tech to create modular homes. Despite showing much promise, the company hasn’t been managed well and has borrowed too much from Jisan Bank, who now has the leverage to force the company into a buyout so that a larger company buys up all their assets and cuts the current CEO and other employees out. Seung Jo and Ho Woo don’t want to see this happen because it’s exactly what happened to Joyce’s father’s company, Haebit Construction. However, Joyce doesn’t seem to care and is fully on the side of Seung Jo’s power-hungry father, Han Je Gyun (Choi Min Soo), to gut and sell the company. And this is the same woman who once begged him for help.

She ridicules Ho Woo’s attempts to save the corporation, pointing out that its potential growth will only require further capital injections. No creditor is required to wait forever for a company’s potential to realize itself. She’s equally curt with Seung Jo who is gutted at her callousness. Je Gyun, on the other hand, is impressed and tells Seung Jo that Joyce would have made a fine daughter-in-law, even if Ji Soo was worthless. Ho Woo knows he has to nip this budding partnership between Je Gyun and Joyce right in the bud, so he goes to her with the truth. Seung Jo wasn’t responsible for what happened to her father – Je Gyun was. And just for a moment, he has the upper hand.

2. Foiling Joyce and Je Gyun’s scheme of forcing a buyout

kim-myung-soo-kim-yoo-ri.jpg

Only, Joyce doesn’t care. There’s nothing in her of the woman Ho Woo and Seung Jo used to know. This woman’s hard and cold, and she will happily ruin lives if it gets her where she needs to be. She also seems to be in a relationship with someone at her present workplace, HK Equity, the private equity group trying to purchase Soma Tech. Je Gyun’s hold over Soma Tech’s biggest creditor, Jisan Bank, means that no one will lend the company any more money. They can’t even pay their workers, just like Haebit Construction all those years ago. Ho Woo barely saves the CEO from taking his life, and Seung Jo is at his wits end on how to repay Soma Tech’s loans when the company is so deep in debt.

I watched the episode 7 and 8.

Some thoughts.

There were a lot of twists that kept me engaged but in the same time .... too easy for the good guys to come up with the solutions. I just think it would have been so much better to focus on characters a little more and less on the actions/ so many turns and twists.

I felt sorry for Yang Jae-Hwan, Son Hye-Won and their daughter. He is becoming blind because he was poison with methanol while working. I don`t understand Han je Gyun. He wants power and lots of money but what he is doing with all that? Could he really not help the one who worked for him, who used to do his dirty work?  It was that hard to give Yang some money to compensate for the visual deficiency? He should have understood that Yang was desperate. There is too much of a gap between his power and those he uses as pawns. He is not in good terms with his son either. He will go to the grave with all those money?

I thought that Sim Hyeong-Woo could make an interesting character and I thought the writer did not used him properly. I wanted to see him a little more than Han Je Gyun`s pawn but at least the writer gave him a little redemption. He gave some documents to his sunbae before going to the warehouse and I think those documents will help bring down Han Je Gyun.

I really hope Jang Ho-Woo is not related with Han Je-Gyun (his illegitimate son or something like that).  There was a scene where Lee Sung-Joo told Ho Woo that he resembles Han. It was out of nowhere and I doubt the writer did not have prepare something for the future revelations. I hope the show doesn`t go there. I know there is a connection between young Ho Woo and VP Han, the first scene, where young Ho Woo was running from something but I hope it is something else. two posibilities: Han henchmen wanted to bring young Ho Woo to VP or Ho Woo`s father had documents to use against Han and his son was there with him. I am sure the documents from National Forensic Service from Han `s safe box are related to Ho woo.

I said that Jang Ho-Woo and Han Seung-Jo had a mentor and mentee relationship but it looks like the mentor is clueless. Once again Ho Woo told Seung Joo how things works in his company. He doesn`t need a mentor, that`s for sure. Seung Joo is the mentee here. :w00t:

Ji Soo has a son and Seung Jo is the father (of course, it is a classic cliché. The news did not surprise anyone.) I am glad Seung Jo figured out but Ji Soo could have told him the news. She knows that he is not like his father, that he is not the one who come up with the plan to bankrupt her father's company and still she did not tell him anything about his son. He had the right to know. He is too understanding.

In the MBC Friday-Saturday drama Numbers, Kim Sun Bin played the role of Gong Hee Sam, an irreplaceable friend and a family-like presence to Jang Ho Woo (played by Kim Myung Soo). In the recent episode, he personally prepared a birthday meal for Song Yeo Jin (played by Do Yeon Jin) and a nutritious meal for Jang Ho Woo.

When Jang Ho Woo, surprised, asked, "Is today some sort of day?" Gong Hee Sam jokingly replied, "It's a day, so you eat on a day. If you eat, it becomes a day." He added, "Even if there are foods I have never eaten in this world, there is no food I can't make." While caring for Jang Ho Woo, exhausted from his demanding work, he said, "You have to eat well, my Ho Woo, who worked so hard all night."

Bdjr1A_2f.jpg
Gong Hee Sam displayed a mischievous and playful personality but showed a warm and caring side in important moments, showcasing his charming tsundere (hot-and-cold) qualities.

In Numbers, Kim Sun Bin's chemistry with Kim Myung Soo is evident as they effortlessly portray their close friendship. His unique liveliness adds to the enjoyment of the drama.

Kim Sun Bin made his acting debut through the web drama Let Me Off the Earth in 2020 and has been building solid filmography with various works. He gained popularity among the MZ generation (Millennials and Generation Z) as the lead in the hit web drama New Love Playlist, overcoming a competition ratio of 1,300 to 1. He has also showcased his diverse acting spectrum in projects such as KBS 2TV's Drama Special Season 13: Prism and JTBC's The Good Bad Mother.

I know it is a fiction but why Han Je Gyun will risk burning his men in his own warehouse? It was more credible to fake an accident.

Numbers: Episodes 7-8

by alathe

With a long-awaited showdown between brothers looming ahead, old alliances are starting to dissolve. Alas, our heroes are slow to learn the value of teamwork. With our young hero courting some unlikely allies, things are about to get convoluted… but can they untangle on time for the extraordinary board meeting?

EPISODES 7-8

Yeon-ah’s offer of support fails to impress Jang “married to my murderboard” Ho-woo. Instead, it’s met with instant suspicion. How is this so easy for her? How can she trivialize this? Yeon-ah, understandably put out at being called “easy,” grumbles that she was only trying to help. True, she doesn’t know exactly what he needs help with — just that she’s prepared to lend financially savvy moral support!

They’re interrupted by a pair of Taeil’s snobbier accountants, who’ve come to indulge in their favorite hobby: snickering relentlessly about Ho-woo and his high school diploma. Ho-woo’s first impulse is to squash behind the bookshelves and hide. But Yeon-ah’s got other ideas. Her colleagues gape as she comes bounding out of nowhere, demanding to know what they’ve got against high school grads! They blink. She deflates. Uh… not that she cares, or anything. Ho-woo, skulking unseen, can’t help but grin.

Still, he’s got bigger fish to fry: after his stunt at the airport, Vice President Han has him in his sharklike sights. Mess with me again, he warns Ho-woo, and you can forget civility or HR compliance. I’ll show you how nasty a loser I am. Indeed, he’s already made with the pettiness: Ho-woo has been removed from all major assignments. Good thing our guy has eleventy-billion plans for this eventuality! The Cake Bean debacle granted him an unlikely ally: the ever-abrasive Chairman Lee Chan-joo. With Sanga’s support, Ho-woo just got a whole lot harder to victimize.

But as ever, this puts him in an awkward position with Seung-jo. Chan-joo’s scheming brother, Lee Sung-joo, has come to collect on that favor. After all, Vice President Han was the one who cast him out of Sanga. It’s only fitting, he reflects, that Seung-jo will restore him to power. When brother meets brother in the lobby, things get ugly. Chan-joo loudly calls Sung-joo a loan shark. And so, in perfectly rational retribution, Sung-joo… ambushes Chan-joo in the bathroom and shoves his head in a urinal. I kid you not. Fuming, Chan-joo revs up his car and slams it full force into Sung-joo’s, landing both in hospital — and underlining, once again, this show’s moral that rich people should never drive. (Sorry, Yeon-ah.)

Speaking of Yeon-ah — she’s determined to support Ho-woo whether he likes it or not! Every time his back is turned, she dumps a passive-aggressively annotated research binder on his desk. Never has having a crush on a coworker been quite this labor-intensive. Eventually, Ho-woo demands to know her exact motivations for being so helpful. She looks at him, reproachfully. Does she need a reason? Ho-woo, quite understandably, melts in the face of this. They reconnect over drinks at the bar, resolving to take Vice President Han down together.

Later, our heroes toil over piles of Sanga paperwork, in search of dodgy numbers. If someone from Sanga created a slush fund for HK Equity, it must have left a paper trail, however discreet. Finally, Ho-woo finds exactly that. A while back, Sanga purchased a ship in Hong Kong, under suspicious circumstances… for exactly the price of the transfer Ji-soo discovered.

Ho-woo barrels into Seung-jo’s office, eager to inform him of this development. He’s even got a suspect: Vice President Ahn was the case supervisor during the ship sale. Could she be the mysterious “AN”? Seung-jo’s response is like a kindergarten teacher whose student just handed him an earthworm. He knows her — Vice President Ahn would never help HK Equity. Stung, Ho-woo goes for the low blow: you never thought your father would betray Haebit, either.

Ho Woo was getting ideas for his investigation while looking at financial reports/numbers actually might be related to who he was prior to become an accountant. Remember that he has been studying and learning hard to become a police just like Uncle Jang mentioned in the earlier episode. And we even got a glance on his acceptance letter into police academy in previous episode. This could explain his thought process and his ability to find clues out of his observation and/or investigation.

4 Times That Masks Crumbled In Episodes 7-8 Of “Numbers”

Jul 21, 2023

The second half of “Numbers” begins with a bang as masks start to fall, antagonists start getting cornered, and villains resort to increasingly dangerous methods of keeping people quiet. Jang Ho Woo (Kim Myung Soo), Han Seung Jo (Choi Jin Hyuk), and Jin Yeon Ah (Yeonwoo) know they have allies in each other, but they’re facing the equivalent of a dynasty and a villain who knows no bounds in Han Je Gyun (Choi Min Soo). As his noose around them starts to narrow, everyone’s masks start to slip. Here are four illusions that fully shattered this week!

Warning: spoilers for episodes 7-8 below.

1. Han Je Gyun is the mysterious An that Ho Woo was searching for

At first, Ho Woo is convinced that Ahn Seung Yeon (Bae Hae Sun) is the mysterious figure named An who manages HK Equity. As a private fund, the fund operator is well-shielded. Trouble is, An is also the person who wired the funds into HK Equity that allowed it to purchase the patents owned by Ho Woo’s foster father’s company Haebit Construction. In effect, whoever it was purposefully had Haebit Construction liquidated so that HK Equity could swoop in, take all of Haebit Construction’s assets, and walk off with a tidy set of golden eggs to sell to rich politicians.

Yeon Ah and Seung Jo explain how this works to Ho Woo. Passing on stocks and money to their children leaves records. However, giving their children an asset like a patent allows chaebols and politicians to dangle methods of production over various companies’ heads, which, in turn, means that the children of these chaebols and politicians will receive income from those companies for using “their” patents. It’s just plain unethical, especially since those patents were obtained by forcing perfectly profitable companies into bankruptcy so that a rich person could give his kid a shiny, money-producing cash cow.

Ho Woo finds that Seung Yeon helped create a slush fund for Chairman Lee Chang Joo (Jung Hae Kyun) of Sang Ah Group, which is held by HK Equity. He confronts her about being An, but she denies saying that even she doesn’t know who it is. But it takes Ho Woo and Seung Jo only a chance moment to find out. There’s no financial trail. There’s nothing in the way of proof. But there’s only one person diabolical enough to pull this off. Han Je Gyun. The mysterious “An” was actually Seung Jo’s father all along. And Je Gyun is holding some dangerous cards as he prepares to wage a war of domination.

2. Jang Ji Soo is a mom

Jang Ji Soo (Kim Yoo Ri) has presented herself as ice-cold and willing to do anything to work her way up HK Equity, such that she can get to the bottom of the mysterious An who was after her father’s proprietary technology and ruined him to do so. Her relationship with Seung Jo is still quite strained, with her having resented him for years and him having done nothing to clear his name when he wasn’t the one who wrote the report that doomed Haebit Construction. Rather, Shim Hyung Woo (Sungyeol) did.

After learning the truth from Ho Woo, Ji Soo approaches Hyung Woo to demand that he provide her with information that could destabilize Je Gyun. She sees it as the least he can do. The trouble is that Je Gyun has even more dangerous information on her. Ji Soo is a mother to a five or six-year-old son, very likely Seung Jo’s son. Je Gyun holds the pictures of her child over Ji Soo’s head to get her, as HK Equity’s representative, to vote the way he wants at a shareholder meeting.

Seung Jo finds out about the pictures and is beside himself. He knows that he’s the child’s father but also knows that Ji Soo won’t take anything he offers her at this time. He still hasn’t avenged her father’s death and has beaten himself up for years over that. He sets out to foil Je Gyun’s planned shareholder meeting. Je Gyun attempted to pull a fast one over Chairman Lee Chang Joo by supporting his wealthier younger brother Lee Sung Joo (Jung Woong In). He convinced Chang Joo that he was on his side while secretly working to undermine him by having Sung Joo buy up Sang Ah Group’s shares. By the time Chang Joo found out, Je Gyun was certain that he wouldn’t be able to halt ownership of Sang Ah Group going over to his brother. But Seung Jo doesn’t allow that. He and Ho Woo canvass enough votes to win over shareholders to Lee Chang Joo and secure his position as Chairman. In doing so, they gain a valuable ally in Lee Chang Joo and a dangerous enemy in Lee Sung Joo. And Je Gyun loses big.
