The upcoming Disney+ original series The Worst of Evil dropped a short teaser, tantalizing viewers with the K-drama's high-octane action, epic performances, and tension-filled plot.

The teaser commences with Park Joon Mo (Ji Chang Wook) facing the boss of Gangnam Union, Jung Ki Chul (Wi Ha Joon), asking him, "You're Jung Ki Chul?". The two have an intense confrontation.

The following scenes give glimpses of Park Joon Mo as a police officer and Jung Ki Chul as a gang leader, both elites in their professions.

Following a thrilling montage of fight scenes, we see Joon Mo knocking someone out. Jung Ki Chul, who witnesses it, offers him to join his gang.

Park Joon Mo then infiltrates the Gangnam Union and gets close to Ki Chul.

The teaser gives us glimpses of Joon Mo's dangerous operation, doubt seeping into Ki Chul's mind about him, Joon Mo's wife, Yoo Eui Jung (Im Se Mi), standing dazed amidst a gang fight, and the heavy choices Joon Mo has to make as a gang member while upholding his conscience as a police officer.

With the backdrop of the 90s Gangnam, the K-drama also has a dark ambiance, befitting a crime drama. Moreover, just a glance at the messy car chases, power-packed action scenes, and spectacular performances, have the viewers excited for the thriller.

Set in the 1990s, The Worst of Evil is the story of police officer Park Joon Mo (Ji Chang Wook), who infiltrates the Gangnam Union, the center of the Korea-China-Japan drug syndicate, aiming to dismantle its operations.

The drama is directed by Park Geun Beom and Han Dong WookJang Min Seok is credited for the screenplay.

The Worst of Evil releases on September 27th on Disney+ and Hulu.

Ji Chang-wook joins The Worst of Evil in new teaser

by Jenzy

WOE3.jpg

My oh my is it hot in here? The first teaser of the Disney+ crime drama The Worst of Evil starring Ji Chang-wook (If You Wish Upon Me) and Wie Ha-joon (Little Women) is here, and it’s already delivering exactly what was promised: a gritty crime underworld, subterfuge and power machinations, and — my personal favorite — oppas in leather jackets brooding over the moral ambiguity of their actions.

The teaser opens on our hero Park Joon-mo (Ji Chang-wook) staring down the camera and deadpanning at Wie Ha-joon’s character, “Are you Jung Ki-chul?” See, Joon-mo is an undercover cop tasked with inflitrating Gangnam’s most infamous drug syndicate, and Ki-chul, being a head of said gang, is exactly the man he wants to impress. Lucky for him, after some punches thrown, Joon-mo proves his loyalty to Ki-chul, who gives him the stamp of approval: “Let him in the ranks.”

But it’s not all gang bromance and roses now he’s in, because there are a lot of people — his cop wife played by Im Se-mi (Duty After School) for example — riding on him perfectly toeing the line between investigative cop and devoted lackey. This means while at one moment he’ll take secret pictures of Ki-chul’s office when no one’s around, at another moment he’ll cheers to chummy drinks with his new “boss.”

It’s a hard balancing act, especially since the teaser shows us that amidst the sea of stylishly shot gang fights and tuxedoed men with bats (it’s all very K2-coded and I’m totally here for it), there are people suspicious of Joon-mo’s allegiances whispering into Ki-chul’s ear. This leads to the teaser’s dramatic ending where a conflicted Joon-mo holds a gun to an unseen figure while Ki-chul yells at him to shoot. How far is Joon-mo willing to go for the sake of his cover? Looks like we’ll have to find out.

Written by Jang Min-seok (Secret Reunion) and directed by Han Dong-wook (Man in Love) and Park Geun-beom, The Worst of Evil will premiere on September 27 on Disney+ and Hulu.

Disney Plus has released an intense teaser trailer for The Worst of Evil, starring Ji Chang Wook and Wi Ha Jun.

The Worst of Evil is a crime action drama that revolves around police officer Joon Mo (played by Ji Chang Wook). The narrative follows his undercover operation to infiltrate a major drug ring operating in Gangnam, a hub for drug trade between Korea, China, and Japan during the 1990s.

The trailer starts with Joon Mo going undercover to dismantle a major drug cartel in Gangnam. In a tense face-off with Gi Chul (Wi Ha Jun), the head of the Gangnam drug syndicate, Joon Mo walks up to him and boldly asks, “Are you Jung Gi Chul?” Gi Chul’s response is, “Come and join me.”

The scene then shifts to Gi Chul becoming more suspicious of Joon Mo, who is now involved with the drug syndicate. Meanwhile, Joon Mo’s wife Eui Jeog (Lim Se Mi), who also happens to be a skilled police officer, joins the investigation. Tension rises as Hae Ryun (BIBI), a central figure in drug distribution in Gangnam, and the members of the ring become entwined in the case, hinting at the imminent conflict.
