The only reason Xiao Yao was able to find out the relationship of Hou and YinYing is due to Hou's own greed and jealousy over Jing in making effort to pursue XY by giving her Sea monaster's heart, he obtained with his barehands in front of everyone, which he had originally given to YinYing in secret. YinYing got really pissed and arranged for them to meet in Qinqiu and XY was able to set up the mirror to record their meeting and conversation.

Oh good, Xiaoyao will catch the infidelities later.  Even Hou’s wife caught her husband and Yinying talking, but not Jing.  So disappointing like he can’t do anything about those two.
