“Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist” has unveiled a new highlight teaser!

Based off a novel of the same name, “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist” depicts the story of Yoo Se Poong (Kim Min Jae), a well-known internal medicine doctor who gets expelled from the royal court after being caught up in a conspiracy. Afterwards, he meets Seo Eun Woo (Kim Hyang Gi) and Gye Ji Han (Kim Sang Kyung) in the strange and beautiful Gyesu village and works to become a true doctor who heals the heart.

The new highlight clip kicks off with Yoo Se Poong’s impressive rise to royal stardom as his exceptional acupuncture skills makes him well-known within the palace. But after earning the king’s trust and becoming a senior acupuncturist, he’s suddenly faced with the shocking loss of his skills and gets tangled in an unpredictable conspiracy. As his face is sprayed with blood while he’s giving treatment, someone shouts out to Yoo Se Poong, “Are you being careless?!”

Even after he’s banished from the royal palace, Yoo Se Poong is unable to get over this horrible incident and is tortured in his sleep with nightmares.

In his newfound situation, Yoo Se Poong has an unusual meeting with the eccentric Gye Ji Han who forces him to work in Gyesu village. Gye Ji Han boldly tells Yoo Se Poong, “You think you can solve everything, right? Don’t do anything. You have to let go of everything in order to hold again.”

This helps Yoo Se Poong get back into line and overcome his trauma as he throws himself back into work. In Gyesu village, Yoo Se Poong also meets Seo Eun Woo, who is going through her own set of troubles. When she decides that it will be more help to her family if she was dead, Yoo Se Poong saves her from the edge of a cliff. She cries out, “Why are you trying to save me?! Why?!” Yoo Se Poong calmly responds, “Please give me the chance to save you.”

The teaser then jumps back to their first meeting, where Seo Eun Woo was able to save Yoo Se Poong’s life. Given their unusual connection, viewers can look forward to seeing what kind of special relationship these two develop.

When Yoo Se Poong falls into despair because he cannot help all the sick patients, Gye Ji Han bluntly encourages him by saying, “If you can’t do acupuncture, you can try moxibustion, and if you can’t use moxibustion, you can use herb medicine. If you just run away, does it get solved, you idiot?”

Kim Sang Kyung Transforms Into An Eccentric Doctor In “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist”

tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist” has unveiled a glimpse of Kim Sang Kyung in his starring role!

Kim Sang Kyung portrays Gye Ji Han, a money-hungry and eccentric doctor who is also Yoo Se Poong’s teacher. In the newly released stills, Gye Ji Han exudes an extraordinary aura, and his dramatic reactions to the most minor things, like a piece of rice cake, makes viewers laugh. Judging from his theatrical movements in the photos, it’s hard to tell whether he’s a doctor or a martial artist.

However, when dealing with patients, Gye Ji Han is 180 degrees different. His sharp eyes and professional mannerisms hint he’s an experienced doctor, and contrary to his feisty appearance, he’s more warm-hearted than people give him credit for. In particular, it will be intriguing to see his synergy with Yoo Se Poong and Seo Eun Woo.

Kim Sang Kyung took a moment to share his thoughts about “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist.” On what made him choose this drama as his next project, he shared that the title captured his interest and added, “I wondered if there were psychiatrists in Joseon. This is a topic that hasn’t been covered in historical dramas, so the viewers will enjoy [‘Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist’].”

The actor continued, “It’s entertaining how Yoo Se Poong, Seo Eun Woo, Gye Ji Han, and the members of Gyesu Clinic solve the problems of the characters that appear in each episode. It’s a drama about ‘love for humans’ that heals a broken heart with a warm, loving one.'”

Concerning his character Gye Ji Han, he remarked, “He’s slightly different on the outside and inside, and he has a hidden past. He may seem like a character who says harsh words and loves money, but if you get to know him, he’s a three-dimensional figure who has deep affection for humans.” Kim Sang Kyun used bolder facial expressions and movements to flawlessly depict Gye Ji Han’s personality.

“Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist” premieres on August 1 at 10:30 p.m. KST and will be available with subtitles on Viki! Check out a teaser here!

On the 21st, Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist released still photos of Kim Min Jae (Yoo Se Poong) and Kim Hyang Gi (Seo Eun Woo). The series tells the story of Yoo Se Poong, a genius doctor who can’t perform acupuncture, becoming the real “mind doctor” upon meeting eccentric widow Seo Eun Woo and an oddball doctor Gye Ji Han.

There is a great interest in Yoo Se Poong and Seo Eun Woo’s “salvation” narrative. The released photos capture the fateful first encounter at a cliff. Yoo Se Poong was the best and the most-favored acupuncturist in the palace until he lost everything. When Seo Eun Soo finds him walking toward the cliff, she takes the risk to save him.

Seo Eun Woo was married off and even was on the verge of involuntarily becoming the “widow who vowed never to marry again.” After meeting Yoo Se Poong, she’ll undergo a dramatic change. These two, who are swamped by despair, remind each other of the “reason to live.”

Kim Min Jae described the relationship between the two as “the North Star.” He explained, “They give each other hope when they’ve lost the ways of their hearts.” Kim Hyang Gi chose the word “soulmate” and commented, “They give strength to each other to see the world more lovingly.”

Meanwhile, Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist will premiere on August 1st at 10:30 PM KST.

Kim Sang Kyung And Kim Min Jae Are Opposites Like Water And Fire In “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist”

Kim Min Jae and Kim Sang Kyung will be showing off their incredible chemistry in tvN’s upcoming drama!

On July 22, tvN released new photos of Yoo Se Poong as he finds himself in the unusual but beautiful village of Gyesu where he meets the eccentric master Gye Ji Han.

Due to Gye Ji Han’s tricks, Yoo Se Poong ends up treating patients for 11 days straight at the Gyesu clinic. His determination and stubbornness doesn’t stop there, as he’s unable to put down his medical books. As Yoo Se Poong was formerly a skilled and popular doctor for the king, questions are arising about how he became so incapable overnight and why he’s ended up in Gyesu village.

Kim-Min-Jae-1-1-800x800.jpeg

Yoo Se Poong and Gye Ji Han also kick off the world’s most trivial war of nerves. Without anyone noticing, Gye Ji Han slips off and begins counting in the pharmacy. As soon as Yoo Se Poong gives him a look of suspicion, Gye Ji Han hilariously moves on to something else. While he initially appears snobby, Gye Ji Han is more sincere than anyone with regards to saving lives and thus deeply understands the pain and trauma that Yoo Se Poong feels.

Kim Min Jae commented, “Just like North pole and South pole on magnets, Yoo Se Poong and Gye Ji Han exist on opposite sides. Although they clash often because they’re both strongly insistent, they also achieve good results when they listen to each other’s opinions.”

Kim Sang Kyung added, “Just like water and fire, they’re different types of characters, but both are necessary. They have a complementary relationship where they redeem each other’s strengths and weaknesses.”

“Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist” premieres on August 1 at 10:30 p.m. KST and will be available with subtitles on Viki! Watch a teaser here!

'Chosun Psychiatrist Yoo Se-poong' PD "Comic, Healing, Mystery Complex Charm"

image_readtop_2022_662514_0_165211.jpg

Was there a psychiatrist who healed people's hearts even in the Joseon Dynasty?

tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Chosun Psychiatrist Yoo Se-poong' finds viewers with the fresh setting of a psychiatrist in the Joseon Dynasty.

Producer Park Won-guk, in charge of directing, introduced the work as "a drama about how to comfort the pain, lack, and difficulties that many people face and how to find happiness" at an online production presentation on the 26th.

He continued, "There is warm comfort, emotion, and healing, and there are many complex charms such as comics, mystery, thriller, mystery, and melodrama."

'Joseon Psychiatrist Yoo Se-poong' is based on the novel of the same name, and tells the story of Yoo Se-poong (Kim Min-jae), a well-known medical doctor, who gets caught up in a court conspiracy and gets kicked out and goes down to the strange and beautiful Gyesu village.

Here, Yoo Se-poong meets Gye Ji-han (Kim Sang-kyung), a eccentric doctor, and Seo Eun-woo (Kim Hyang-gi), a widow of anti-war charm, and becomes a real doctor.

PD Park said, "Even in the Joseon Dynasty, there must have been people who had a heartache, but it is a warm work that depicts how those people overcame their pain and found happiness. there will be,” he said.

He continued, "If other historical dramas mainly dealt with the stories of kings, noblemen, and high-ranking officials, 'Joseon Psychiatrist Yoo Se-poong' is set in the village of Gyeoseu, where ordinary people live. It becomes a historical drama,"

Actor Kim Min-jae takes on the role of Yoo Se-poong, who was caught up in an unexpected incident while running on the road to success as the chief acupuncturist at the internal medicine clinic.

Kim Min-jae said, "I was curious about the work just with the title of Joseon Psychiatrist, and as I read the script, I felt like crying and laughing."He said, "Yoo Se-poong is a moral person with excellent skills and correct values," he said.

image_readmed_2022_662514_1_165211.jpg

Kim Hyang-gi, who plays the widow Seo Eun-woo, who deduces the stories of the sick, and Kim Sang-kyung, who plays Gye Ji-han, a eccentric doctor who hides warmth behind an eccentric personality, also introduced the drama as a work that will move people in a pleasant atmosphere.

Kim Hyang-gi said, "There are various episodes in the drama, but instead of dragging the story between the main characters, you can see each character well.

Kim Sang-kyung said, "I've only played the role of King Sejong twice, but I don't really like people who have good form." He said, "Gye Ji-han drinks a lot and is an eccentric person, but the more he spreads it, the more he has an onion-like charm. Please watch his charm until the end." .

'Chosun Psychiatrist Yoo Se-poong' will be aired on a season basis. PD Park explained, "The drama is a story that comforts people's hearts, so it was appropriate to make it into a season system. He continued, "The drama basically conveys the message, 'It's not your fault,'" he said.

First broadcast at 10:30 pm on the 1st of next month.

Watch: Kim Min Jae And Kim Hyang Gi Save Each Other’s Lives And Learn To Heal From Kim Sang Kyung In “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist”

tvN has released a highlight teaser for “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist”!

The highlight teaser gives a brief preview of the lives and complicated pasts of genius acupuncturist Yoo Se Poong, who turns into a “loser” overnight, widow Seo Eun Woo, and the eccentic, money-hungry Gye Ji Han as they adjust to life in Gyesu village.

With talent, brains, and handsome looks, Yoo Se Yeob (Yoo Se Poong) quickly rises as a popular star doctor in the royal palace. However, he meets a swift descent when his treatment on the king goes wrong, leading to the king’s death. Yoo Se Yeob is immediately banished from the palace and forbidden to re-enter the city of Hanyang.

He falls into a deep rut but is fatefully saved by Seo Eun Woo who tells him, “How come you save the lives of others, but do not try to save yourself?”

The teaser also dives into the unknown past of Seo Eun Woo. At a young age, Seo Eun Woo gets tied in to a sudden marriage and is left a widow soon after when her husband dies unexpectedly. Despite her misfortune, Seo Eun Woo is bright, diligent, and curious, readily examining dead bodies and hunting down murderers.

However, there is more to Seo Eun Woo’s past than it initially seems. Looking distraught and empty, Seo Eun Woo whispers to herself, “If it’s more help to my family that I’m dead rather than alive, would it have been better for me to die?”

Yoo Se Poong also has an unusual first meeting with Gye Ji Han. While Yoo Se Poong is trying to save a patient, his anxiety and lack of confidence throws him in a panic and he fails to stop his hands from shaking. At the perfect moment, Gye Ji Han flies in like a breath of fresh air to save the patient and make fun of Yoo Se Poong.

As if that wasn’t enough, Gye Ji Han proposes that Yoo Se Poong look after patients at Gyesu clinic for the next eleven days. Without even a chance to escape, Yoo Se Poong gets tied up at Gyesu clinic and meets a diverse group of patients.

Perhaps it’s due to Yoo Se Poong’s good looks, but Gyesu clinic suddenly becomes a hot place and the doctor rediscovers his purpose in life. To help him gain perspective, Gye Ji Han tells Yoo Se Poong, “You think you can solve everything, right? Don’t do anything. You have to let go of everything in order to hold again.”

Similar to their first meeting, Yoo Se Poong and Seo Eun Woo meet again in extreme conditions – with Seo Eun Woo on the brink of death this time. When Yoo Se Poong wakes one night from his recurring nightmare of the palace incident, he walks outside to see a young woman in the water. He recognizes her as the woman who saved his life and hurries to help her but she angrily shouts at him, “Why are you trying to save me?!” Yoo Se Poong emotionally tells her, “How can you save me but try to take your own life? Please give me the chance to save you.”

Although Yoo Se Poong has started a new life in Gyesu village, he cannot fully escape from his life in the palace. When the instrument he used to treat the king is later discovered, he must find out the reason behind its discoloration. Additionally, Yoo Se Poong must go up against the forces who are out to kill him.

When Yoo Se Poong is still distraught and in disbelief that he no longer has his god-like acupuncture skills, Gye Ji Han tells him, “If you can’t do acupuncture, you can try moxibustion, and if you can’t use moxibustion, you can use herb medicine. If you just run away, does it get solved, you idiot?”

2. A trio setting out to heal hearts

The synergy between Kim Min Jae, Kim Hyang Gi, and Kim Sang Kyung is another huge point of interest. Kim Min Jae commented on the character of Yoo Se Poong, who had been on the fast track to success before an unexpected incident landed him in Gyesu village. The actor said, “The interesting plot point of a psychiatrist in Joseon is combined with the robust stories of the characters. I worked hard to portray Yoo Seo Poong in a fun way, as he is someone who is becoming indispensable to Joseon.”

Taking on the role of Seo Eun Woo, a keen and empathetic widow, Kim Hyang Gi commented, “There are a lot of funny and also touching moments that happen in the process of treatment. I hope everyone watching can be healed through joining us.”

The money-hungry and eccentric doctor Gye Ji Han is played by Kim Sang Kyung, who shared, “Keep an eye out for the fateful meeting of the members of the Gyesu clinic who will help Yoo Se Poong’s journey of growth while he is caught up in a grand conspiracy.”

3. Legendary characters who carry the plot

A lineup of skilled actors will only add to the drama’s high degree of perfection and comedic bend. Ahn Chang Hwan plays Gyesu clinic’s Man Bok and will bring even more excitement to each scene with his guile. Yoo Sung Joo will display a cold and charismatic attitude through his role as expert schemer Jo Tae Hak.

Drama fans can also look forward to other intriguing roles played by Jung Won Chang, Kim Hyung Muk, and Lee Seo Hwan. Other scene-stealing characters include the members of the Gyesu clinic, who will add even more life to the drama with their unique personalities.

In the stills, Yoo Se Poong is standing in the rain hopelessly with empty eyes that have lost their brightness. Premiere Watch: Poong the Joseon Psychiatrist, Wild Boar Hunting

Poong the Joseon Psychiatrist

Time slot: Monday-Tuesday
Broadcaster: tvN
Genre: Comedy, sageuk, medical
Episode count: 12

Reasons to watch: They had me at cuteness and emotional healing. Kim Min-jae plays our hero and once-physician to the royal family. After he’s ousted for ~reasons~ he eventually teams up with Kim Hyang-gi and Kim Sang-kyung. Each bring their unique story, talents, and emotional wounds to their practice and wind up helping their patients heal from both their physical and emotional wounds. It’s great to see this attention paid to hurts and traumas in a way that’s about addressing and healing them (instead of just using them for plot movement), and the drama could wind up striking a nice balance of cuteness, comedy, and heart.

TL;DR: Kim Min-jae, dimples, cute sageuk, interesting focus on mental health and emotional healing

I watched the first episode and I like the drama so far. It is a healing drama and I think the comedy and emotional scenes/serious stuff are well balanced.
