Sinopsis

A man is a swindler. He is smart enough to take the bar exam, but he could not become a prosecutor. Disregarding favoritism and biases by prosecutors, the man makes criminals pay for crimes that prosecutors did not.

SEOUL, Jan. 24 (Yonhap) -- Actor Jang Keun-suk has been cast for a new TV series on SBS, his agency said Wednesday.

Tree J Company said he will appear on the Wednesday-Thursday drama "Switch - Change the World." It will be his first TV series in two years since "The Royal Gambler" on the same network.

In the new series, which explores the gray area between legal and illegal, he will play the double role of con artist Sa Do-chan and prosecutor Paik Jun-su, who is the spitting image of Sa.

"While I was reading the script, I came to have faith in the work. Playing a double role will be a turning point in my acting career," he said in a statement released by the company.

The drama is expected to air in March.

Jang Geun Suk and Han Ye Ri are set to lead the SBS drama “Switch – Change the World” (tentative title).

Reports emerged on January 24 that the two actors would be taking on the lead roles for the drama. Soon after, Saram Entertainment confirmed that Han Ye Ri would be appearing in the drama as the role of prosecutor Oh Ha Ra. A TreeJ Company source then confirmed, “Jang Geun Seuk will be in the drama and he will be playing the role of a man who becomes a con artist after failing to become a prosecutor.

This will be Jang Geun Suk’s first drama in almost two years since 2016’s “Jackpot,” and this will be Han Ye Ri’s first project in six months since the end of JTBC’s “Age of Youth 2.”

“Switch – Change the World” is set to be a drama with a satirical message about justice as it teeters on the line between good and evil. Written by screenwriter Baek Woon Chul and directed by producing director Nam Tae Jin, the drama is set to air in March as the follow-up to “Return.”

SBS' upcoming drama 'Switch- Change the World' has just confirmed its lead actors.

Actor Jang Geun Suk and actress Han Ye Ri have been cast as the female and male leads for the drama.

Saram Entertainment has declared Han Ye Ri's role in the drama as the role of a prosecutor Oh Ha Ra. While TreeJ Company has also reported that Jang Geun Seuk will be playing the role of a man who becomes a swindler after his failed attempt to become a lawyer.

On January 24, after having confirmed by both the agencies, Korean media outlets moved forward with the news.

 

 

This is a major comeback for Geun Suk as he has not done any projects since the last two years.

So satirical look what's legal and illegal in the justice world? I actually like the story plot... an intelligent man choosing to become a conman.  Last time I enjoyed a conman drama was 38 Task Force.. Not familiar with the two leads but as long as I find the story interesting, I'll check.

According to the official Twitter account for the PyeongChang Olympics, the livestream of the torch relay cut off when it was Jang Geun Suk’s turn due to many fans who tuned in to watch the star. The account uploaded a video of Jang Geun Suk participating in the torch relay surrounded by fans, residents, and security guards.

"Operation King" has become "Switch - Change The World" and Jang Geun-suk has confirmed his appearance along with Han Ye-ri. The project is about two physically identical men, a conman and an investigator, and the blending of legal and illegal matters. The premise does not sound very new on paper, as conflicting pairs are a common concept. Dramas also love breaking the law in every shape and form, so I will need a bit more on this to gauge its potential. The series has also cast Jung Woong-in, so there is another plus right there.
