@febz that actor does seem to have many beautiful "daughters"  - he looks quite an impressive figure, I guess he will play a pivotal part in the last three episodes.

I would like to believe that he will watch or perhaps was given a good idea on how the script for this ep was like...so that when he sings it will be very close to the scene that was shot. he has to have that feel to sing! When his song came into the background, I was immediately thinking that you must be jumping for joy

im happy from the very beginning when heard the news

he is the lead actor he can bring the emotion the best tbh since he can relate to the character better than anyone else and he love singing so im sure he put extra effort once given opportunity like this so hi5 Bogum you done great...people always worried or doubt if you can do this and that (same case before the drama) but still he slays and proved his talent over and over...he is someone who keep on improving his craft moving forward never backward

hwaiting Bogum keep rising more and more after this no matter what others say or do

It's unfortunate that RO opted for such an extreme, desperate measure in trying to save both of them. If not the female character, it will be the male character who will likely take such route, which to viewers may seem foolish and cowardly. Sometimes, at some point in life when troubles bear down on you so so so hard you'd loose your real self and turn into a desperate person who can't seem to see any light at the end of the tunnel, the only thing you can see is the lose-lose scenario, and all you can think about is trying to let it go and minimise the risks. It may lead to noble idiocy. But in RO's case it's not noble idiocy imho (and i'm not going to explain it). What I'm saying is that I understand her. I don't blame her. I can't get mad at her. Yeap I kinda hate his character in his previous drama but then I'm not continuing watch that drama until end .

He's definitely play important role here, it will affect on RO status at the end. That must be the reason why they decide to call him back from the afterlife world I dunno who's the one that will connect him to CP, is it eunuch Han or Dasan teacher? I put all my trust to PD-nim & the writers here. The more intrigue the more excitement we'll get but no more heartbreaking scene. I give up with that

My humble take on Ra On's character though is this:

More than everything else in life, she wants to be useful around people she cares about. She enjoys to help people achieve their dreams, solve their problems and bring a positive impact. Take a closer look at the early episodes. Even when CP confesses his love for her, she asks to be relocated to another position because at least she feels useful to him.

This is how she expresses and defines love. To help and contribute to the well being of her loved ones.

Her identity and family background, however, makes it nearly impossible to live up to this fundamental value that drives her decisions and actions. 

To love does not always mean to possess. Love is also about letting people go. 

For me, that knife scene is actually the one scene that moved me the most, out of all the romantic scenes so far. (I know, I know; perhaps I'm a sadist  ). 

Because you see two people both trying so hard to love each other in the best way they are capable of.

For Ra On, she could not allow herself accept the love from CP if all she could bring is worry and danger to his authority and throne. Do you guys remember her conversation with the Crown Princess? Recall the look of slight envy in her eyes when the Princess said she can be useful to CP even if she might not be able to receive his love?

So she forces him to let her go because this is how she could help him the most. To help him severe the relationship by making him hate her. So that she will no longer be his weakness in his political path: someone who could make a king's mind waver

the only thing she miscalculated was CP's understanding of her. 

CP has once said that he would do anything she wishes him to, so there is no need for her to ask for his favour to do anything. This is how CP expresses his love : To grant anything his love wishes and make her his life's mission and priority. 

Realizing that hat it was Ra on's wish to let him go, he grant it, albeit painfully and most reluctantly. So he needed her "help" by using the knife to cut the bracelet. He could not remove it himself, remember? He needed that final push from Ra On. He needed her knife...

This is why for me, this scene, is one of the most poignant and emotional scenes for me. Because  love has so many forms.

I am overjoyed and even a little relieved to witness the strength in Ra On. To love enough to do what was right at a difficult moment, even if that means giving up someone's affection or good opinion of you. 

Wild abandoned love in saguek days is a luxury. Women are absolutely dispensable. I am not saying Ra On is completely right. But she is indeed the more realistic and clear minded one in the relationship. Because above all else, she needs to feel useful to the one she loves to believe she is deserving to be loved.

just wait until ep 15 subs is out and then watch the scene when RO talked with her mom, it will give the light to everyone who has been harsh on RO's action towards LY. To sum it up, she said to her mom that she had something to do before she left, that she had to let that person(LY) go so that he could live well without her, so that he wouldn't feel guilty when someone replaced her

Ra On's dad was executed by the King so there was a scene...the king asked his Eunuch to secretly summon Ra On back to the palace when she was kept in hiding to find out why Ra On wanted to enter the palace to be a eunuch.   The King was curious about Ra On's  intent and character and came to know CP liked her.  In the novel, Ra On had a sickly sister...so her reason to penetrate the palace as a eunuch was to make money(eunuch makes good money) to finance her sister's medical treatment.   The King was curious if she ever hated the King for executing her dad....she said no.

The King was happy with Ra On's sincerity and trusted that she had no revenge motive to get into the palace to assassinate him nor the CP so in the end he gave CP the blessing to tell him to do what he thought would be the best thing to do with his life.......

So YES, the drama is developing differently in some detail ways from the novel.... they used the characters differently as well so I could only say the ending is very UNPREDICTABLE and probably that is their way of having fun with our hearts..... LOL..    I am beginning to feel that this drama's genre is a THRILLER....  

 

Wow , the drama's characterisation of the key has already wavered so far.....but yet I still feel its realistic. You can't be rational and behave the way king behaves........and the king has always been paranoid or is that another way area where the novel and drama differ on?

chingus ottoke I'm excited but also afraid to watch next episode. PDnim words that he wants to show a different kind of love, one that is sweet but also sad (?) keep replaying on my mind. I'm being paranoid I know but i can't get over the 'sad' part what if they don't end up together in the end?  it can't be, that's not possible right?

I think she already said this, they had the conversation,  she said it better to not meet again , she said it's bad for him and her, and the head eunuch also said that it's dangerous 

even byeong yeon and yoon sung agree that the last thing yeong's need is his name linked to the traitor, the things her dad afraid the most and the rumour that can make the people turn their back to him, not to mention others, neutral minister, 

she never said she didn't love him at all, she already confessed the night before she leaves and he knew it ,

she just said it better not to be together when it brings nothing but he keeps on asking to meet, 

they are young, and they just have one love stories, realistically people hardly ended up with their 1st love (damn Cha Tae Hyun is the 1%) and it's quite far fetched to hope Ra-on to be his mistress that no one knew, heart is a heart, it gonna heartbroken and selfish if Yeong keep Ra-on and marrying Ha Yeon (this is because ra on and yeong  assumed that nothing can change the marriage, the kings fainted is the cupid miracle)

it's always the heart, Ra on can believe his heart but the reality is he gonna marry someone and it wasn't her, 

maybe I am too far but this is exactly what I didn't like in the moon that embracing the sun when yeol is hidden by the kings just because the kings love her, 

she has her life and if she chooses going away to trade the freedom for both of them, then that's can be fair, 

personally, I like them to be together but Ra-on has been shown throughout the series as someone who is practical than the dreamer Yeoung 

that's why they are a good matched, 

if the situation is reversed and we got a lot of Ra-on point of view as the central, like when she always gets attacked, get afraid, can't sleep at night, crying under the blanket, dreaming about her mom and dad getting murder, we would probably asking her to leave too,
