Despite live shooting, hands down this beats Moon Lovers and DOTS. I know lots of people think that Moon Lovers story is "more serious" (aka Ockoala etc) but honestly I am watching Moon Lovers on the side, it's nice, okay and that's about it. It's NOT a drama you will think about a year from now. It just does not have that staying power.

And sorry to say, despite this drama being on a live shoot. Editing and cinematography beats Moon Lovers and DOTS especially Moon Lovers.  The scenes there transition with zero flow leaving you more often than not confused.

And yeap, DOTS was all about the episode 2 Joong Ki walk....honestly when I rewatch it. I cannot rewatch the middle episodes...that B-O-R-I-N-G!

LY looks at the embroidered handkerchief which his mom has given to him and he is reminded of her words to him. She tells him that she wants LY to be an enlightened King and that he is able to protect each and every one of his people just like his own family. She has asked LY if he can promise her that he would become a benevolent King who is like that. LY then says aloud saying that he will ensure that he will be the kind of King his mother has always wanted him to be and tells her to watch over him from Heaven.

 

The King announces in court that Ra-on has uncovered the truth behind the real cause of the former Queen's death so she has made a great contribution to the royal family so she is acquitted of her crime of being the traitor's daughter.

 

On the other hand, HY appeals to the King that she wants to step down from her position as the Crown Princess and she says that she has once thought that she can continue to remain by LY's side, but she has thought things through and realize  that this is not possible between them as LY does not love her so she asks to leave the palace instead. The King consents to her wishes and says that he will regard that the appointment of her as the crown princess has never happened and she can continue to pursue her own happiness and she will be able to find someone who loves her.

 

We see a happy HY exploring the city on her own.

Time jump....

 

On the other hand, LY has been appointed as the King and when he enters the court, he chooses not to sit on his throne but instead, he ends up sitting on one of the palace steps and he tells the court officials that he will continue to do this as he hopes that they will be able to understand his heart that he wants to be drawn much closer to his ministers and the people of the country. Basically, he wants to regard them as his equal too.

Aww, grateful to all bts posts of last scene. We can take a closer look of beautiful Ra On-ie. ^^ Lee Yeong being King surprised me and made me so much more happy, seeing YoungOn  together was a must of course hehe I just couldn't wrap my mind around Yoon Sung's death. Because of that it's felt like bittersweet ending.

Looks like DC gallery strikes again.  They were correct again about the ending.  Yoo Jung is so pretty.  Seeing her nurse Yeong today reminded me so much of Dong Yi.  If they were to do a reboot of that story, PBG and KYJ could probably portray them.

Even thought it was tough, thank you to everyone who has been giving lots of love to Love in the Moonlight, a production that leaves a deep mark in your heart. Even though it was hot, thank you to all the actors and staffs who worked hard~ it will become a good memory~ Also, thank you to those who gave a lot of love to the character Yoonseong, i love you~ You would have to find a good love in heaven Yoonseong-ah~~ ㅎㅎ

It has been emotionally draining the past weeks especially with those episodes where our protagonists were being subjected to insurmountable trials..our emotions too were tested to the hilt but being around everyone here is comforting enough to move on and still hope for a happy ending. Today's such a happy day. I can move forward knowing that I have another special kdrama that I can go back to watching over and over again till I drop( bingewatch to the hilt) and will remember all your reactions( and my reactions too particularly with HY.. Thank God she gave way!..Respect surged in.. Vindicated) What a journey for all of us( cast and crew and audience). Good thing I joined this forum too. Lurking since DOTS. It's only here that I got to post two (now three) comments. I find this group more open to anything.

I leave you with this: Good memories are really hard to find. They only come when you open yourself to possibilities. Friendship, camaraderie, new experiences, this forum..Ahh.. Love in the Moonlight or Moonlight Drawn by Clouds.. You are one positive influence. As I go back to my daily grind, I have proven again that it is never wrong to hope even if in the direst of situations. One time one person asked me what do I get from watching kdramas and I answer I get to practice hoping against hope(this time with LY and RO finally being together in this drama; love them!) And I get to be a little braver and more courageous in accepting that some things are bound to happen(knowing the vulnerability of kdramas especially when it comes to their endings; and with what happened to YS in this drama).Although it'll take time as YS has caused such an impact in our kdrama lives.

Yes and no- some of the speculations were correct but they were right it would be sort of an open ending for RO and Yeong. I did get my wish that he would be king though and so did alot of the DC people. 

There weren't many spoilers and this was one of the complaints in DC (me too i was surprised by the lack of spoilers since I usually hunt them down for any drama that I see) but I give alot of credit to the writers (despite some of my initial reaction to the ending of this episode) for the unpredictability of the drama. 

 

Boooo- I didnt see RO enter the palace as queen  

 

Like @Jillia I am feeling a bit empty about the last episode but I do know i have to watch it again and I will also post my thoughts on it too.
