RO overhears her mom's conversation with Jung Yak-yong. RO 's mom tells JYY that he must not let anyone know that RO is in fact the traitor, Hong Gyeong-nae's daughter. RO's mom wants to take her away as she is afraid that RO will be in danger. RO barges into the room and while mom and daughter are by the river side, RO tells her mom that she is now knows why is it after so many years, she has to disguise herself as a boy and now she fully understands as her mom does not want her to live her life as the daughter of a traitor. RO's mom tells her not to blame her father too much as she only wants RO to be able to live a better life in this world. Mom and RO start hugging each other as they cry. RO tells her mom to let her go and adds that she will be back  shortly. RO then tells her mom saying, "He is waiting (implying LY) as he doesn't know anything yet".

 

When RO returns to the palace, LY is already waiting for her outside his chambers and he heaves a sigh of relief when he hears her voice. LY tells RO that actually he doesn't want to smile when he sees her but it's already too late now. RO asks if LY is intending to punish her so the latter teases her and asks if she is looking forward to it. He then starts hugging RO as he says that since she has returned to the palace safely, then he will forgive her and won't punish her.
