I am so mad at people for spreading crap translations!. Like seriously, I am not Korean but even I translate better than that. And since everyone is confused about the other translation

*literally supposed to be a joke since he is playing someone in the armed forces. Therefore as co-stars, they would be "comrades"  and there would be loyalty between comrades. It could also be taken to mean "partner" and therefore loyalty between partners.

The lead stars of “Descendants of the Sun” arrived in Hong Kong on Monday to promote the 16-episode Korean drama about to end of April 14. Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo attended a press conference on Tuesday.

It is the first overseas press event for the blockbuster romance aired every Wednesday and Thursday over KBS 2TV in South Korea and video platform iQiyi in China. After Hong Kong, the two would continue with the Asian fan meeting tours.

The next one is on April 17 at the Kyung Hee University in Seoul. Song Joong-ki will then meet Thai fans on May 7 at the Thunder Dome in Bangkok, said Blossom Entertainment, the agency which handles the actor, reported Yonhap.

“Descendants of the Sun” is also viewed free on streaming site viu.com and Viu app in Hong Kong and Singapore. It is the most-watched show on the Viu online service and logged a 60 percent viewership in March, beating the 40.9 percent established in Seoul for the cliffhanger ending of Episode 11.

Song Joong-ki attributed the unexpected popularity of the show to its various elements. “You can see different kinds of scenes in the drama, there’s disaster, action. There’s also a good love story. There’s variety,” quoted the Straits Times.

He added that wearing a soldier’s uniform is very natural to him since he completed the two-year compulsory military service in 2015.

Song Hye-kyo revealed that he caused several no-good (NG) takes during the filming of the show which took six months to complete. “Even though the drama is about a serious love story, the characters have their lighthearted moments and comical scenes. I remember Song Joong-ki laughs a lot, so there were a lot of NGs due to his laughing. But every time that happens he feels sorry towards the staff,” she said.

I think people meant that he is using her instagram to post pictures. And actually that's what her translation conveys...it's like a play on the scene in the show. Remember when SJ tells her that people in love often do things for the other that they might be able to do for themselves and MY tells SJ that she will do something for him in the future that he could *theoretically* do for himself.  Similarly, SHK here used the word "제가" meaning "I" , very emphatically like the character does in the drama.

So therefore since he doesn't have SNS, but it's not like it's impossible for him to make one - she would rather just post photos on his behalf.

I think we're supposed to relate things to the drama given how all her captions sound. They're very smart these two.

You're welcome. In fact another interesting thing to note is that she used the polite form to say I,  재가 (chega) and not 내가 (nega). Lol, so basically she's using a formal tone with us. She's not using banmal or informal tone with her fans.

Guys, don't be freaking out because those pictures were never posted by SHK on her IG. The YAI was posted by either Ellen Park or some other staffer, the other YAI picture was posted by Raymond Chae. They would never be that obvious!

Also, I don't get why someone said she had 159 images?. She had 152 images till yesterday and she added 5 last night which adds up to 157. 

So, don;t worry. Nothing got deleted. Please modify your posts so that no confusion is caused.

I literally just got off a Google hangout with a friend who is also a shipper and we re-watched the Viu press conference together. Anyway we had to keep pausing the video cause we were spazzing so much over all the cute moments. I've had good vibes about these two for awhile now but this and the subsequent IG pics have put it over the top and there's really no point of return for me. My friend and I are totally convinced SongSong is dating and they're well into the deep love stage. What we noticed above all else is that they were constantly aware of each other no matter what they're doing. When SJK was answering his questions SHK would look so nervous at times like she was was so concerned for him and wanted him to do well. And SJK was always keenly aware of where SHK was relative to himself at all times. That's totally an attentive bf/husband move! 

 

Btw I don't know if this was caught in any of the translations and I haven't had a chance to backread all the pages but it's a moment I noticed that needs to be mentioned! So according to what I understood in Cantonese, when the two of them were asked to rate what they thought of their own appearances in their military uniform and doctor's scrubs respectively, SJK gave his answer and then he pretty much volunteered to rate how SHK looked in her doctor's outfit.  He was kind of shy and mischievous about it as a he turned to her almost as if asking permission. Of course the MC was like please go ahead. And that's when he busted out the awesome  "piao liang" followed by "hen piao liang" before he got all shy and made her blush. Total daebak moment! But what made it sweeter was that he took it upon himself to compliment her.  They were initially just asked to rate themselves not one another. That's almost as good as a public declaration of love as far as I'm concerned. Also I've seen people interpreting piao liang as pretty but I've always understood and used it more as beautiful which is probably what Joong Ki meant as well. He was so cute speaking Mandarin!

 

These two really bring out the best in one another. I've honestly never seen SHK so relaxed and at ease during a PC. This is a side of her that her fans are aware of but I don't think the rest of the world gets to see as often and it was all thanks to SJK. She is obviously so comfortable in his presence that she willingly let her guard down. I think this is largely because she trusts that he has her back 100% and this goes both ways. Those fist bumps were totally BAE! Their onscreen chemistry is other worldly to say the least but their real life chemistry is pretty electrifying as well. Their connection to one another is as real as it gets and anyone who doesn't see it by now is just blind or in serious denial. 

 

They probably won't confirm anything anytime soon but it doesn't matter as long as they keep developing their relationship.  I just love that they're also not denying it and have taken up this new tactic where it's okay to be seen together. Like finally! Yeah we know that you're friends... SPECIAL FRIENDS haha! I feel like popping some champagne and I don't even drink. The shipper gods have really smiled down upon us today

AIMH was the first K drama I ever watched so I have been a SHK fan for almost 15 years. But never shipped anyone or started posting till DotS. You guys are the best. Your research, perseverance and information gathering are better than paparazzi, Special Forces or CIA.
