lyserose
1 hour ago, antiherofans said: And, we always say Hae Soo is from the future so she should make a better choice, judgment, etc. JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE FROM THE FUTURE, IT IS NOT A GUARANTEE YOU ARE GONNA BE SMARTER THAN PEOPLE FROM THE PAST. The most logic thing is you will make more mistakes because you don't know anything about that period. How much do we know about history 1000 years ago? We know history only from books, movies and internet. I think it is the same when we read books about how to live in the jungle, how to survive, etc. But when you are in the middle of the jungle, alone, it is a different story. Your first instinct is to survive. You will do anything to survive. And that is exactly what Hae Soo did, try to survive. I have to admit, I like my heroine to be smart and that is why I like "Dong Yi" but you are so very right, I can't expect Haesoo to be smart just because she comes from the future. In MLSHR, I view Yeonhwa as the smartest, even smarter than most of her brothers though she is slacking on her human side and her moral ground is questionable. When you stated that Haesoo's first instinct when teleported to Goryeo is to survive, this is the whole point, the main key word why I have a problem with her. And that is why I referred back to her "what if I ask you not to pursue the throne" thrown to Wang So at the end of episode 16. One can defend her "what if" as her way of trying to figure his thought or whatever but if survival is important to her, she should know why the throne is so coveted, what's the perks of having the throne - it's power and as I have justified in my earlier post, powerful enough to survive and protect the innocence and not being in the position of being forced to do something inhumane because your and your loved ones' fates rest in the hand of a tyrant and in this case is Yo. Should So not fighting for the throne, Yo will continue to reign and continue to use Haesoo or Baek Ah to do the despicable. Ok, if Yo gone and Wook ascended the throne, Haesoo also knew (from episode 12) that he wanted So dead. If not Wook, then it's Won and we all know how and who Won is. So you see, not liking Haesoo not because I am her anti. But I could not like her because she defies all logics for being so weak, so shallow under that circumstances. I don't need her to be smart but be logical enough to make sense of what need to be done in that kind of situation.
Popular Post ldwon4
HELLO!! (First and last (?) time posting on here....) Just wanted to post on here to say how much I love this drama! I was first indifferent to watching Moon lovers because I, along with most of South Korea, was head over heels for Park Bo Gum (still kinda am from that handsomeness with Reply 1988 withdrawals). But after watching a couple of random clips from the first two episodes of MLSHR, I was intrigued with the unique cinematography and quality camerawork. So I decided to binge through it on a train ride home. I was indeed blinded by Park Bo Gum, so I tried to be more bias against MLSHR, but still the quality of the drama still kinda got me entranced. Each week went by when I would watch both dramas, still distracted by Bo Gum's fan service. However, week by week, I would get more excited to watch MLSHR than MDBC. And as I somehow got my friends into watching the show (up to points of fangirling and sobbing and looking into the history and saying PAEHAAAAA LOTS of time XD), I got REALLY INVESTED into this drama, including looking into the actors (I have now watched their Running Man episode (and the "Twenty" one with KHN), KNH's, Twenty, NJH and JS's Bromance episodes, NJH's School 2015, LJK's Scholar Who Walks the Night (I also realized that I watched LJK in the King and the Clown and DAAAAAANG what an amazing actor is). I really love LJK (his adorable ears and cheeky smile I SWOON) and NJK (SO MUCH BEAUTY IN THAT HUMAN BEING); I'm so glad that they have a bromance so more OTP of them together it makes me happy. Of course, there's an honorable mention for KHN (mainly because he gets wacko later in the show but in real life he's got that adorable cheeky smile and he's a sweetie and I SWOON). I've definitely grown to appreciate each aspect that the staff have put into the drama. The adjustment of Korean history from its original adaption, the camerawork (with its unique lighting that gives it a standard par to DOTS), DEM CLOSEUPS LIKE FANSERVICE (even though that's a thing that I've seen the director do in TWTWB and It's Okay, That's Love), and the wonderful acting that each actor portrays (PLUS EVERYTHING THEY SHOOT IS SO PRETTY HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE). I've went through a couple hundred pages of this forum (and kinda slowly gave up and became overwhelmed about how much content has been posted here like holy cow you all are amazing with your analyses and etc. lol) and have seen how much hate were on most of the actors, especially IU and Baekhyun as they are idols. And I did not see that at all. I think each actor portrayed the character they played very well, as many of them did suit the characters well. But especially LEE JUN KI. HE NEEDS AN OSCAR AND ALL OF THE AWARDS. His eyes and that poison scene. Like DAYUUUUUM. And Kang Ha Neul. AMAZING acting with just those eyes, turning a complete 180 whenever he gets evil (kinda sexy but frightening even though he's really an adorable dork). All that aside, everyone else did a phenomenal job with their characters, especially with LJK sunbae's help. WHAT AN ADORKABLE ANGEL! AND THE MUSIC OMG It's so beautiful. The BGM: SUPERB. Just wonderful <3. And I've been playing most of the tracks on repeat for the past few weeks. I was curious as to why there were YG artists doing OSTs (because that's not a thing) and I learned later that YG invested into this drama and that just pulled me in like WS does <3 like YES MORE REASON TO LOVE THIS DRAMA (because I'm a pretty big YG stan, and I'm slightly hoping that Taehyun or someone from Winner would do an OST but that's probably not going to happen and besides the point). There were quite a few comments on how most of the music doesn't fit into the drama, but I guess it was just me and my friends who aren't big saeguk watchers and didn't notice how weird it was to have modern music in the episodes, but I really love them and have most of them on my phone now. Faves are AKMU's (to make me happy), Sum Hae Im, Lee Hi/Epik High, and Junghwan's in no particular order because they are amazing in their own ways but I like the others as well <3. But overall, it's a really great drama that's up to par with DOTS for me tbh (I love the lines and writing in DOTS, but overall plotline got boring towards the end and got super overrated). But MLSCR is definitely a drama I can show off to my friends, since each person that I show it to or watches it with me gets into it, including my mom (mama likes WS too keke and was shocked for the first time to know how old he was because my mom tends to guess pretty closely to most most actors' ages despite how really old they are). I was actually pretty distant towards my friends and pretty sad for a while for personal reasons, but as my friends were bonding with me watching the drama, I got more back to normal with them because of this drama and I'm really thankful for that. On a sadder note, the domestic ratings for this drama have been dismal for a drama of this caliber. And let me tell you, the netizens bashing the actors and editing and whatnot is not the only reason; I think a BIG reason is because of the Park Bo Gum syndrome (I was a fellow patient for a while but this drama and their boring plotline have cured me from that), so don't feel too bad about the ratings, it was basically bad timing. And we should definitely be grateful that this aired a bit later than MDBC because now there is now a chance to exponentially boost ratings. The new drama following MBDC seems to have a meh plotline, so ratings may not be great (or there's something I don't know that might give record ratings) but Monster will definitely get much higher ratings, and so will MLSHR with its amazingness (so excited to watch the 19th episode on Halloween kekekeke). [OMG there should be a drinking game (alcohol for those who are legally allowed to do so) when watching with friends like whenever someone yells PAEHAAAA take a double shot or when there's cute moments between OTP hahaha XD] Now that I've gotten into this drama to a point where I've attempted to read through this very long forum (when it was ~1300 pages), I've been so grateful to everyone that posts on here. Now I know about this international/sbs version thing because I was hella freaked out about scenes I didn't see and scene shifting in episode 12, I've read a lot of great analyses and comments on the drama (only a selected few from the first few hundred pages because there is too many for me to read atm), and all the wonderful clips, gifs, and pics I can save for myself. I will most likely be lurking as the show ends keke. Side Note: I have this theory that HS, WS, and YH are basically a repeat of history with Concubine Oh, King Taejo, and Queen Yoo. HS and WS seem to have a similar romance like Oh and Taejo where they wanted a simple life together, but Taejo rose to the throne (even if he didn't want to) and Concubine Oh remained by his side until she passed. Of course, by Taejo's deathbed, he regrets all the things he did over living a simple life with the one that he loved, and sees Oh into the bright light before he dies himself. At this point in episode 16, WS really wants to become king for the sake of stopping this family madness and helping his country, something he didn't want to do before (ironic that Oh was warning WW and HS about this from her experience, but only slightly warned HS of WS as well even though it was WS that HS should be careful of; but just saying this because as of my knowledge right now WW is going down this bad path because he has no choice but to keep protecting his family even though he has no true(?) ambition for the throne and only wanted to be with HS as he told his family). And Yeonhwa is definitely like Queen Yoo with her disposition, the actions she's pulled, and her obsession to become queen (also goes with her crush on WS); as this drama will repeat history, WS and YH will probably marry for political gain and YH will probably obsessively love WS until the end as WS passes and sees HS into the bright light (would not be surprised if I see this in the last episode HAHAHAHA). Also, HS seems like she will pass away by some sickness or something of the sort like Concubine Oh. She looks as if she has pains in her heart (from the stress?) like Oh had in her stomach and Queen Hwangbo has in her brain (has been discussed that she might have a brain tumor too idk). But if HS gets a miscarriage like in the chinese version, it will definitely be due to the stress she's has and the miscarriage will contribute to her later death from her heartbreak (either she literally dies from heartbreak or she does have some kind of heart problem because she has been in pain in the heart area for quite a while since 10 episodes ago or so. Idk, it just seems like those three seem to be repeating history again and don't know if there was someone like Concubine Oh in the chinese version, but if there wasn't, it seems like she was here as a mother figure for HS and to have this parallel between this love triangle. Okay I'm finally done (Man, I wrote a lot though not as much as many of you but this is probably a one time post that I've needed to get of my chest so if you actually read through all of this sorry for my rambling and bad sentence structure, I'm not going to proofread this. But have a cookie if you did read all of this and thank you if you did read this! Hope you found it interesting!
Popular Post devotee
Sorry if anyone has posted this but I really think that LJG really looks like a live version of a manga character. Rose3
I got Hae Soo and Wang So for the quiz!! Indeed they are soulmate and I am their supporter! 4 hours ago, MAROSA_JIN said: Still Cuts Oh my gosh! Why do I get an ominous feeling seeing the still cuts? Do you guys notice, Wang So face looks dark. Usually, when the person outer face looks dark, he or she is going through great inner turmoil on the inside. He looks so torn...like he feels great burden...or worries/anxious on a lot of things, worries about Hae Soo, about his decision on getting/ascending to the throne? We have to see. Like a user here said, I am at the final stage of acceptance...while I felt deeply sad on episode 16 for Eun and SD's death, I have already accept the tragicness of this drama, episode after episode since episode 11...like I kind of immune to it? Hah. Though it will be hard on me for what will happen between Hae Soo and Wang So. Though I hope they don't separate over some dumb reason....like there must be an inevitable reason for their separation and it is their choice or else I'm might kimchi slap my laptop screen. About Hae Soo, I have mentioned before that this drama has one of the most realistic relationship...real life relationship is full of misunderstanding, non-transparency esp at beginning stage, under-communication, some doubts etc...Because if you care so much, you will feel so much. Human emotions is never rational. And I never watch a drama solely because of a character, I usually choose to watch a drama and not others or dropped them because I see the story as a whole...characters hardly offends me unless they are very villainous. Haha! Though I do pity all the characters here including the villain ones, this is just an overall unfortunate story. Thus when LJG said he feels affected by the domestic TV ratings, I think he shouldn't. I do understand, after all the hard work, it feels disappointing that the outcome doesn't match up to the expectation especially in your home country but he shouldn't be too hard on himself. I learnt that too. At one point, all your efforts will be rewarded in one way or another. He has years ahead of him and his star is still bright (see what I did there, haha!). While he has a great sense of responsibility and not taking praises or his position for granted, a drama or a movie "success" hardly dependent on one factor or one person. Team work (including production, editing, scripting, casting, broadcast station, promotion, marketing, management etc) makes the dream work. I have not seen any great success that comes with the effort of one man. Hard work is one thing but sometimes it is about doing things right rather than doing things hard. I also hopes the rest of the casts and the team don't feel too upset about it. Their name are more known internationally and I see there is great publicity, interest and attention surrounding the casts! It will be great for their next project! I have learnt about them and will keep a look out on them! Also, somehow, I feel the writer may deviate slightly from BBJX for the last part...I just feel that the team want to create something new and unique from BBJX. Though I will still accept the ending...either sad or open-ended as long as it is satisfying. Despite the ominous feeling, I am excited for tonight episode! And I will stay through till the end for my dear OTP!! They gone through so much! I been telling myself recently that lucky this is a fantasy and fiction....if not the love story and all the relationships here is too tragic for someone to go through. P.S. Welcome all new users to this thread!!! Feel free to share your thoughts! Spazz with us!! Let share our love for the drama! The more the merrier!

violet90
this thread already slowly losing the fun and cute thing when we approaching the near and its kinda make me sad cause in the end is something that we need to stand together cause its going to be hell lot worse for our OTP.. i get we all have our opinion and all but since the beginning we all rooting for our OTP.. no matter what mistake they do we have to understand that the writer keep actually give us the most human and with flaw character.. So is the one with all the great characteristic and Soo with the flaw one (she have a few bumps in this drama) but don't you get it?? that's why they attract with each other cause they are so different in term of their character... the original poster for both of So and Soo is fire and water.. so different yet belong to each other... i loved our discussion about plot and character and our OTP love but that was it.. i don't want to go defend a character over and over again and loss my fun being in here.. kinda wish we all can go back where our OTP is the cutest battering couple and we all having a great time in here.. p.s this is my rant.... i can't never leave cause i need to be in here when we all cry and shattered our heart later.. lol back to the drama.... when Soo said 'if only we meet in different time and place how great it would be' ? i don't remember the exact sentence but something like this.... this sentence apply to all couple in here... Eun and SD , BA and WH and lastly WS and HS.... we already know what happen to Eun but BA will have his conflict of love too when So find out WH is Yo spy.. i kinda wonder what will he do cause in a way WH also like CR a spy but she did't harm anyone so i guess her punishment will be a lot lighter or WH will kill herself just like in BBJX so their story will be a tragic one too... and last one WS and HS... and we waiting how their tragic love will unfold.... so i can safely said that MLSHR is a lot worse than BBJX cause in the end nobody get a happy ending....
Evelyn C
Long time no see everyone! Had to run away from Moon Lovers last week because the boss needed work done and papers had to be graded! Almost had nervous breakdown twice in one week when I came home to find no new episode (I've developed a pathological hatred for baseball since then), next day Eun and Soon Deok died (I'm still in the denial stage of grief) . As much as I loved our cute OTP scenes (at last! ), I loved even more the look on Mommy dearest's face when she realized that the son who she touted as the best thing since steamed rice is the real psychopathic killer - Spoiler Just as Wang So said, she can now only watch him as he smolders his way to the throne, like a boss! I still don't understand her unnatural hatred for Wang So.... Did she ever at any time like the boy???

I was wondering if there were no other family members that qualify to become a Queen. Taejo must have bazzilion other daughters or whoever related through marriages. YH's ambition is reminding me to Queen Yo's, who was not mother of the year herself. WS should know and should avoid this type of person to be a mother of his children let alone a mother of the country (at least in this saga). In SOGC, the queen was portrayed as one of the King's biggest supporter.
