Quick question: the whole meaning of pre production and pre-produced is that everything is already done... how exactly can they manipulate a finished project from a viewer's request? In addition, I don't understand where the "aunt-nephew" comment came from ??? ... totally from left field and doesn't make sense at all.... yes, the drama is fully completed before it broadcasts its first episode which means we can expect the drama to end without "unnecessary mid-production controversies" (like CITT) and that creators would no longer take viewers' responses/requests about its story line IMO coz it will just ruin the whole drama (like CITT, again)
Popular Post ilovesjk
@enzek When tagging someone just do @ and then person's name. Hope that helps. Woah the aunt talk again. Of course I can ignore it but it truly grinds my gears so I must comment. I think people are too clouded by the fact that SHK is older than SJK therefore they form a preconception that she looks too old for him. It's only 3 years though, what's the big deal? SJK has a baby face? So does SHK. Try finding any 35 year old who looks as good and young as SHK. And SJK, he should be given some credit instead of always being shaded for his young looks. I think he looks manly enough. They're perfect, no age gap in view. They quickly went from aunt/nephew couple to one of the most loved couples within a heartbeat and I'm so glad! It's no surprise. They really shut those haters up! Of course I respect everyone's opinions but I can also differentiate rational constructive criticisms from just pure hate.

I think your problem is that you are looking for the typical types of plots in the usual k dramas .....where the main incident occurs in the first episode and the rest of the show just goes back and forth roaming around it and dragging till it finally resolves in the end of the show .....( where the show starts with a big lie or death of some one or betrayal ....and the rest of episodes moves around this single issue )...............but you will not find this in DOTS cause it is simply different from any other korean drama ....its like every two to three episodes have their own plot/story and their own Aim , every episode you will find new problem and new challenge faces the characters and shows how they will deal with these varies situations under different circumstances with their character development ....and i find this more interesting cause you cant actually predict what will happen next..... whats their next confrontation ......if you watched dots from this prespective i think you will enjoy the story .....finally its your own opinion

But, they should've get a female lead that would match his baby face... OR find a male lead that would match her mature looks..... Hmm.. you might find SHK and SJK unfitting for their looks, but you see, there's a bunch of people that find them fit for each others, for chemistry they showed us and their looks too. Guess it's difference of opinions.. maybe this drama is not your cup of tea? I would get a headache to watch unfitting drama's leads. If i were you i would watch drama that has fitting leads that give me wonderful time. Afterall we watch dramas for the fun right?
ilovesjk
@redwinecouple The meaning of that line rephrased what Yoo Si Jin said earlier about their fates not being meant to be but just colliding as they past each other before they pursue their own separate journeys.

"bumping into each other as we pass by" in my interpretation its kinda some fate. fate that you coincidentally meet a person but only become friends or acquaintance or something like that. i dunno why but this phrase were repeated so many times in this drama if you noticed. is it foreshadowing about ending or something? that they won't be together? oh nooo

I have a question, do you think it will be a love triangle between MY YSJ and Agus or Daniel ? Sorry for my english I doubt with those two, but while I don't want a REAL love triangle, petty jealously on both sides would be cute. Her because of the "love triangle" , and he's already shown his jealousy and it was so cute, so I want to see more. Grumpy SJ was fun to watch. Re: Her being his aunt. That's some sexist richard simmons right there. Nobody would say a word if he were 3 years older. Her character is supposed to be older too, and while SHK has a different vibe than SJK, she looks as young as she did 10 years ago. SJK also shows maturity and incredibly intensity despite his youthful face. It's an insult to both the actors to suggest they look like an aunt-nephew relationship. You are saying the two aren't pulling off their parts, which is untrue. I know this is a popular drama, but I do hope some people just drop it if they don't like it by now (not people here, but DB, while better, still has people hanging on hating everything). If you don't like it by now, and don't buy the OTP you aren't ever going to to change your mind.
carolinedl
Oh wow that kiss!!! I think the essence of the show is basically how people that do opposite things, or appear to be, are going to deal with those things and will evolve. Frankly, I like how nothing "big" has happened in the typical sense. It does seem a bit more realistic in that aspect. How people who are attracted to each other deal with that sentiment when external things and personal visions seemt to clash with it. Also, I do think it is one of those shows where you just have to go with the flow and not question every single things. It's supposed to be "simplistic" in a way. And I am not saying that in a pejorative way. To be honest, I also was not too convinced by the Song-Song couple at first. But that was before the show! I think both actors have developed a certain chemistry very well. IT is very interesting to watch. Even though she looks a bit older than him, sometimes it is the opposite!!

hrh77
Of course not looking for cliche, or typical Kdrama.... BUT, as I HAVE SAID, HOPING that this would have a great story on the next coming episodes.... And I know SJK can handle his role with justice (since He is younger in real life, and I don't mind that)...... It's just how they do look at my screen, the aunt-nephew vibe... Im a big fan of SJK since SKKS & Song Hye Kyo since Full House...

The drama name Descendants of the sun is basically about people who dedicates their live for others and for their nation : Didn't you see soldiers like Shi Jin, Dae Young and doctors like Mo Yeon do this so far? 2. The drama has war and medical elements but it is in essence about the love story between Shi Jin and Mo Yeon: I don't think I need to point out how their love story has been dominating the show for the last 4 episodes. 3. They find love in hopeless/unlikely environment: wait and you will see disaster of all sorts happen at a war zone, judging from previews/OST MVs. People who are naive about the tragedies of war will open their eyes to the harsh realities. I am surprised you don't even know what the real essence of DOTS is about after watching it for 4 episodes. About the age and look differences Mo Yeon looks stunning and young in Uruk with simple and feminine clothing; she has a mature beauty that is effortlessly elegant, unlike Kim Jo Won's youthful beauty. But she is lively, especially when she exchange banters with SJ, grasps seeing the assault video footage, drools over the shirtless soldiers or asks for VIP cards. She is not a girl but a lady, both in real life and in the drama. - SJK has a baby face, yes. But I don't think you realize how the determination and intensity in his eyes make SJK more manly than his look. Especially, his face becomes hardened in serious situation or when he is in deep thought. The weight of responsibility and honor in Shin Jin's shoulder, how he gives his all to complete his duty seem to contradict to how youthful SJK's face is at first but as the drama continues, viewers are just simply amazed at what this baby-faced soldier can achieve. They should forget how young this person look but focus on how much more amazing this person can be. Competent actors/actresses act through their eyes. A doctor lady with young face and a baby-face solider whose character shines through that make people respect him without focusing on his youthful looks, what is to complain? Well, yes, if SHK is surprisingly old for you or SJK is surprisingly too young. You don't like the pairing because you think the appearance doesn't match? I can assume you feel no chemistry between the two of them then? Because if you feel their chemistry, you will forget about the looks issue. What does looks really have to do with how you truly feel about a pairing if you think that the two of them totally make audiences feel that their characters are in love? Then, SJK and SHK totally fail you with their acting in couple scenes because their acting are not enough for you to forget about the thing that bug you: looks (which I believe the majority of views don't feel the same). Good luck because they will continue to fail you for the next 12 episodes. I simply can't be a fan of a drama if the acting of male lead and female lead, who are supposed to be deep in love, fail me.

Popular Post ilovesjk
I find it amusing how people dare make remarks about the logic of this drama and nitpick about how so many things contradict reality, and then go on to name dramas like My Love From Another Star as their favorite drama. Right, because subsequent to an alien randomly landing on earth, lives 400 years and falls in love with a girl but has to return back and miracously finds a way to travel back and forth to different realms only to be with her again, is so much more realistic! Not hating on that drama, just trying to make a valid point here. Sure I'd say there are a few illogical things in DoTS that even a die hard fan like myself is not blinded by but at the end of the day, it's a kdrama after all. I'm here to enjoy the ride of this fantasy, not here to watch a documentary. I don't think they've done anything unforgiving either. Also there's a reason why there are different dramas because people like different things. If they don't like DoTS and prefer a more cliche drama then simply stop watching. I assure them it's not difficult to find those dramas. What's the most mind boggling are the people who "hates" the drama yet hangs on and tunes in every single week, only to "seek flaws" so they can come online and express their thoughts about how "bad" it was and how it "doesn't deserve" its hype so they can give them self a pat on the back for being an internet troll. I say those are the biggest fans. Time is precious, if I don't like a drama I'd drop it. These people must like DoTS a lot to be willing to spend so much time on it.
