I agree that JH is probably more upset at the fact that she "stole' the student he wanted for himself. I actually think it's a bit of both though... he reminds me of the character played by the same actor in The End of the World, he always had this rivalry with a Professor, career-wise speaking, and said Professor was also his wife's first love and they were still good friends (or something like that, I watched it when it aired so details are fuzzy) He was always suspicious of them and even told her so iirc.
I don't think DM is crazy, imo that scene was there for laughs (and for HW's face after was priceless) I can see her being deeply hurt and probably angry when she finds out but I'm not expecting her to go in a murder rampage or something like that :))
I think the Arts School corruption will come to light eventually, the question is, will they use HW as the scapegoat? I'm worried they might.

Dami....oh Dami.  You've a bit of cray in you don't cha?  That scene was kinda funny for me.  DM is from the streets, so to speak.  She's not gonna let some snobby rich girl get away with sticking gum on her forehead.  The part with DM threatening and tormenting the girl in the toilet wasn't even the part that made me think she was a bit off.  It was how quickly she turned off the violent tough girl mode and switched on to being cheery and all smiles once she saw HW.  I mean...that's a little scary.  I worry for HW....

Like you, I don't like the supposed girlfriend DM. She wants to be his girlfriend, she even tried to kiss SJ. She acted after hearing the advice from her friend while they were waiting for SJ. I don't think, she really loves SJ. She is the opposite of HW. She didn't even know that he could play piano so well. She isn't tender, gentle and she doesn't understand music. She is so different from SJ, although they both belong to the same social class. SJ qualified her as GF because DM has always acted as such. But we never saw them kissing. She proposed it many times and he refused.

i wonder what will happen if DM get to know about SJ and HW. seems she is not so kind as she looks. but anyway i hope there will be a good ending. but why every one is guessing there won't be a good ending.

oh, that makes me think negative too.

Honestly I was expecting the husband to be blissfully ignorant about the affair but this approach works too especially if they're trying to emphasize the lack of romantic feelings between HW and her husband.

If it turns out he was indeed thinking that HW stole his student then this guy really doesn't care about HW, I mean what kind of student-mentor relationship involves secret meetings and cheesy messages about jogging in front of her house just to get a glimpse of her face

:)

"Unlike so many shows, Secret Love Affair is almost never up-front about the motivations of its characters. And this is one of the reasons why live watching it is so delicious—it leaves so much for speculation.
Take Sun Jae. In this episode, he tells Hye Won that he doesn’t have to lie to her. The thing is, though, that he has already lied to her. His girlfriend didn’t come of to Hye Won’s house because they “missed each other,” as he said. He treats her at best with brotherly affection—he hasn’t sought her out in the entire history of the show. But Sun Jae wants Hye Won to think that he really is in a relationship, because it makes her jealous. Saying he hadn’t slept with his girlfriend prompted the kiss in episode four. What would Hye Won do if confronted with the fact that he missed his supposed girlfriend?
In episode six, he develops another motivation for keeping of the front of being in a relationship: In Hye Won’s eyes, it makes him safe. He won’t follow her around saying “Let’s do it again,” he won’t look for a future with her that he can’t have, and he won’t ruin her life by telling her husband about their affair because he has something to lose, too."

"I can’t get over how deft this show’s storytelling is. The beginning of this episode gives us exactly what we need: a peek into everyday life as it’s lived by Hye Won and Professor Kang. We’ve rarely seen them together as husband and wife, especially during casual down time like this car trip. As a couple they’re not so horribly dysfunctional, although Hye Won clearly spends all her time babysitting him or soothing his ego. This is the piece of the puzzle we needed to put her actions in context and understand what her relationship with Sun Jae is competing with. (Not much, as it turns out.)

Secret L o v e Affair, 5

Boys in their early twenties wash their sheets for one reason and one reason only: They think they’re going to have a girl in them. And Sun Jae is washing his sheets. Pretty much everything these two do is like foreplay—will we get consummation soon? (After all, what’s the point of having a secret love affair if you don’t have an affair?)"

PaulK said: In Korea some people are already saying that it will end with double suicide. In Korea people with money can get away with virtually anything. Hw will be crushed and SJ will be obilterated. It mught be cruel to overseas fans but in korea stories where the weak beats the strong are no longer encourages because the society is very stratified now.

Well, while I agree that she was not the most soft mannered girl to begin with, I still think that playing it rough with someone you've known since childhood and bullying/beating up a stranger (and to make matters worse for her future, a client at her workplace) are two different things.

And I do agree that she is thoughtless and doesn't love the SJ we love (the sensitive genius pianist), but I believe that she loves a SJ (the one she's known since childhood who is dependable although rough). And to me, the way he ignores and neglects her while throwing bones at her to keep her sufficiently satisfied (he did tell her that he loved her while hugging her, which to any delusional girl is more than sufficient to keep going, and he spends some time with her, and she was present at important moments in his life) is as sinful as her violence, we all know that psychological scars fester more than physical ones. Although I have to admit that she seems so oblivious to the rebuff that it would lead one to think that she thinks he's just the tough love kind. Well, she's in for a rude awakening once she finds out about HW...
