Guys, a little OT here...
Wang's family ratings for their first two eps is as follows:EP 1 - 19.7%ep 2 - 23.8%
this is relatively lower than YTBLSS ratings, which was recorded as:ep 1 - 22.2%ep 2 - 24.3%
So, i think the YTBLSS ratings really isn't a problem. It was just the media who sensationalized it and won't stop comparing it to the ratings of the previous drama,making it seem bad, but I think the staff and crew, and even KBS themselves understands why the ratings have been the way they were (I'm sure they have analysts who studied the trend and gave a forecast for it) and that's why even in the initial presscon, the director emphasized that they are not expecting ratings to go the same way as the previous dramas. I'm thinking they might even have surpassed the expected average ratings, because if not, KBS will not give them the holiday to PH as a gift, right?
Seriously, there really were a lot of negative publicity for this show, and I think it would be enough to keep anyone from watching this drama (mob mentality), but for them to still be able to maintain an average of 25% in this season, for me, is a good accomplishment already on its own.

KBS is going to regret what they have done to the script for YTBLSS because of the rating "issues" when they realize that the ratings were good, considering the season and weather. I didn't really expect Wang's Family to rate higher than YTBLSS, so I'm glad to see I was right in that respect - in order for KBS to admit, even to themselves, the mistake they made in doubting YTBLSS.

I've already mentioned this before as well, but I've never been disappointed by YTBLSS's ratings. Since I've always considered 20%+ to be decent, 25%+ pretty good, 30%+ to be really good. After watching k-dramas for years, that's how I've interpreted it.
Which is why I was surprised when I saw negative articles regarding the ratings. I was wondering "are we looking at the same ratings", because in the past, when other dramas got at least 20%, it was considered to be good. I honestly did not understand the negativity at all. There really are so many reasons why ratings are the way they are (like the time of the year the drama airs), so yeah, I didn't get the negativity.

@babyviolets , @akinahana89 , @jjsiu , @ayame (addressing the 4 of you since I feel like we're the only ones here right now.) :-)

Disturbed with the ratings and annoyed with KBS. Agree that our leads and our cast are not being acknowledged for much. You all know my thoughts on this already as we've discussed this before, but it still doesn't seem fair after all the hard work the past 6 months. And you're right @babyviolets about LMS. The agency transfer and lawsuit was an older case. It's really damaging sometimes when people say incorrect stuff like this because there are a lot of people who accept it as being true.

Anyway, don't mean to change the topic, but want to discuss skinship for a bit. I just watched the English subbed version of Mama Mia with Lee Ji-hoon. I saw the scenes with IU and JJS before, but never the actual blind date for LJH. (He was really cute, by the way.)

Anyway, the moms made a really big deal about the skinship between LJH and his date, and you could clearly see the effect of the skinship between the two...very natural, and very genuine. You could tell there was chemistry there. (And because this is a variety show, there's an actual element of real vs. reel built in. Making note of it for a reason.)

It made me really think of the skinship between our OTP and how it helped underscore the chemistry between our leads. It also leads me to conclude that there's no way our leads could not have been affected by the skinship they shared considering how skinship is viewed and treated in this culture. LJH's date is now making me look back on all the interaction between JJS and IU in a different light and I'm more convinced then ever that there were a lot of scenes between them where IU was only partially acting.
