Kang So Ra and Jang Seung Jo have been cast as the leads of a brand new Genie TV original series, 'Can We Be Strangers'.

 

Premiering in January of 2023 via Genie TV and ENA, 'Can We Be Strangers' tells the stories of lawyers specializing in divorce. Kang So Ra will take on the role of a star divorce lawyer named Oh Ha Ra, a goddess when it comes to winning divorce lawsuits. Jang Seung Jo will take on the role of Goo Eun Beom, Oh Ha Ra's ex-husband as well as a co-worker, also specializing in divorce lawsuits.

 

Meanwhile, Kang So Ra will be returning to the small-screen with 'Can We Be Strangers' for the first time after giving birth to her first child in April of 2021. Jang Seung Jo, who married musical actress and former CSJH The Grace member Linah in 2014, also welcomed his second child in December of 2021.

Watch: Kang Sora, Jang Seung Jo, And More Come Together For First Script Reading Of New Drama

 

 

                                               

Upcoming drama “Can We Be Strangers ?” (literal translation) has released new footage of the cast at their first script reading !

 

The drama will follow star divorce lawyer Oh Ha Ra (Kang Sora) and her ex-husband Goo Eun Beom (Jang Seung Jo), who is also a lawyer. Oh Ha Ra, an expert in her field, is known as “the goddess of litigation,” and she has her mind already made up about how she is meant to hate her ex-husband. But what happens when the two are brought together once again, this time as colleagues ?

 

Kang Sora, who plays the expert divorce lawyer Oh Ha Ra, started off the script reading strong, with her first line being “What are the characteristics of the seeds of infidelity?” She spoke these words with a clear and clipped tone, giving just a taste of her character’s intensity. Kang Sora also described her character as being honest in the way she expresses her emotions.

 

Jang Seung Jo slipped naturally into his role of Goo Eun Beom, Oh Ha Ra’s ex-husband who is also a talented lawyer. He gave a memorable performance at the script reading, showing off his perfect chemistry with Kang Sora as they depicted two people with a lot of history muddling their current lives. As for what viewers should keep an eye out for, Jang Seung Jo said, “Look forward to seeing if these two can go back to being lovers instead of strangers.” 

 

Other members of the cast who joined Kang Sora and Jang Seung Jo at the script reading included Jo Eun Ji, who plays Kang Bi Chwi, a Korean-born Californian with a very open mindset who has the habit of telling things as they are. Lee Jae Won will play Kwon Si Wook, a man who is conservative to the core and is the exact opposite of Kang Bi Chwi. Also present were Jeon Bae Soo, who will play Seo Han Gil; Gil Hae Yeon, who will play Hong Yeo Rae; and Moo Jin Sung, who will play Min Jae Gyeom.
