Yes the one with Sistar was so cute, both groups gave love and take love. ♥
First I thought Hyorin would be great with Dongwan but Dongwan with Soyou matched very well in the cooking challenge. And if I'm not mistaken she's always chosen Dongwan.  
Junjin and Hyorin were hilarious, Jinnie just didn't care haha.. Hyesung must have been very happy this episode, they were the only pair who managed to have a 'date' lol...
The episode with Sistar was one of my favorites  For me it's the best of episodes with idols as guest so far.

I honestly like the episodes (so far) with the girl groups compared to the expert-themed episodes. Anyway about Yoona... she's the most well known and she IS the face of the group. I think we all understand by now that the face of the group gets the most exposure. I hope people will get past that. Although it is Yoona-focused, but it is still a fun episode to watch.

For someone who doesn't follow SNSD like me, beside the airtime Yoona gets in SB, I can't really tell how she is the face of SNSD though?  
However it's always worth to see the boys and their hilariousness, I'll just fast forward in some parts...

Hmm...I just finished it. I didn't really like it. It was hilarious no doubt because of Jinnie and Wannie, but the centering around Yoona is just a little...not my taste. I didn't like the hidden camera prank on her, I wish their interactions were more natural and not scripted for the hidden cam. I felt bad for the other SNSD members because some of them looked like they weren't having much fun since everything was about Yoona. I felt bad for Yoona too, man I would've been so hurt if someone told me straight out I'm not as pretty as in pictures or something, you can tell Yoona was flustered. HAHA. Oh well...I wonder what episode 49's going to be. I look forward to that episode.

2013.02.22 ‘Gag Concert’ crew to join Shinhwa for WBC special of ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’

The members of KBS‘s ‘Gag Concert‘ have been invited to the World Baseball Classic special of JTBC‘s 'Shinhwa Broadcast', which probably means you’ll once again be doubling over in laughter between the combo of the comedians and the ‘variety idols’ Shinhwa.

Starting from March 2nd, JTBC will be airing the WBC for Korea, sparking many baseball specials on the channel, one of which will be Shinhwa’s own show. In the new WBC special, Shinhwa and their guests will form teams to compete in several baseball-related games with missions in between.

The producers of the show stated, “While the atmosphere of the games was equivalent to the WBC, it was hard to tell which team would win the games.”

Guess we’ll have to tune in to find out for ourselves who will emerge as the victors on February 24th!

2013.02.25 'Shinhwa Broadcast’ to Return in April with New Format

Preparing for new laughs, jTBC’s Shinhwa Broadcast will be taking a break from broadcast.

On February 24, Shinhwa Broadcast told viewers that with the World Baseball Classic starting up in March, the show will be taking a small break to return with a new format that will not only make viewers laugh, but also touch their hearts.

Shinhwa is also currently concentrating their energy on the upcoming Shinhwa 15th Anniversary Concert on March 16 and 17.

The new and improved Shinhwa Broadcast will return to viewers sometime in April.

2013.02.25 ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ to reinvent itself during 1 month break



JTBC‘s ‘Shinhwa Broadcast', hosted by Shinhwa themselves, will be off-air during the month of March to reinvent itself as a new show.

The show was originally forced to go on hiatus for 2-3 weeks because JTBC will be broadcasting the ‘2013 World Baseball Classic‘ during its time slot, but they’ve decided to add an extra 1-2 weeks off on top of that. The reason for the break? To make format changes, according to the PD of the show, who said, “We’re going to take time to reformat in March for one month. We’re planning to return to broadcast in early April.

Shinhwa, who is no stranger to setting records, set another record with ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’. The show has already become the longest program that one group has led by itself!  Despite this, the PD explained a change is necessary – “For the past year, we tried various things, mainly targeted towards young viewers, but in the new season, we’re thinking of a format that can attract more range of viewers. Now that the show has had time to settle, it is now time for us to increase our viewers. So far, we’ve only shown you fun things. We’re now going to combine emotions and significance to become a variety program that has a special point.”

2013.02.25 ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ Yoon Hyun Jun PD “will continue changing if there are better formats”



Shinhwa Broadcast’s’ Yoon Hyun Jun PD spoke regarding the new changes for ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’. According to various media outlets recently, JTBC’s ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ will be having a 1 month break after the final broadcast on 24th February, and is conceptualizing a new format. After its first broadcast on 17th March, 2012, it is already announcing its 3rd format change in less than a year.

JTBC’s ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’, which had its first broadcast along with Shinhwa’s 14th anniversary comeback, showed a self-professed ‘Shinhwa TV Station’ format, where it made use of various themes weekly, such as Sports Channel, Olympics Channel, Kids Channel, Docu Channel etc. With idol group Shinhwa, which has a large fandom, as the main, ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ was planned to be like ‘Infinity Challenge’, where refreshing items are shown, and showed yet another charm of Shinhwa, who had promoted for a long time but yet had not been widely known as ‘idols’, and received a great response. It garnered unprecedented attention, such as achieving ratings that exceeded 1%, which is considered exceptional for a general entertainment channel.

Following that, along with an Autumn revamp, ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’, which was moved to a prime time slot of 7:40pm on a Sunday, invited experts from various fields weekly, who would teach Shinhwa secrets, showing a new format of ‘Private Tutoring’. Through which, various guests, starting with actor Jung Ho Geun, entertainer Kim Shin Young, Professor Kim Mi Kyung, cheerleaders Kim Yeon Jung, to Sistar, Girls Generation from the “Girl Group special”, and Park Sung Ho, Kim In Seuk, Park Hwi Sun, Choi Hyo Jong, Jung Bum Kyun, Oh Cho Hee from “WBC special”, appeared, and achieved a highest minute rating of 3%, something close to an amazing record.

And 24th February, JTBC, which is once again at its Spring revamp, said “we’ll be exclusively broadcasting WBC from early March”, and ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ and a few programs which have time clashes will be having a break. The producers immediately thought to create a new format at this timing.

Regarding this, ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’s’ Yoon Hyun Jun PD spoke to hankyung.com’s wstarnews, saying, “Compared to this, there are even more examples where formats are changed even more frequently. I think of the past 1 year as a time where we tried various things”.  Adding on, Yoon PD, who showed his pride with “there is no instance where a single program by an idol group lasts longer than a year”, expressed, “What fits Shinhwa, what Shinhwa can do, things that we would wonder how it’d be like if Shinhwa did them, every week we ponder over which of these 3 the viewers would like. In future, if there are better formats, we’ll continue changing too.”

Previously, after “Private Tutoring” format was confirmed, Yoon PD expressed through reporters that “we will be creating a means through which the characters of the Shinhwa members can be caught, through a fixed format”. If they had focused on showcasing Shinhwa’s carefree sides previously, this time he was determined to directly plunge into securing “characters”, which is the top asset of varieties. The result of which, Shin Hyesung, who was in-charge of the weekly briefings, gained the character of “Shin-Brief”, with his unique awkward hosting.

But there was obviously a sense of pity left regarding the constantly changing formats of ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’, where in it’s initial stage, the format itself continually changed so as to create fresh themes. Regarding this, Yoon PD explained, “as you continue with one format, if you see other merits or find room to portray the strengths of the members, we can go with that however much necessary,” adding, “the problem is not with the format, but how Shinhwa-like the broadcast is, and how much more that charm will appeal to the audiences.”

Also, with the program name itself being ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’, Yoon PD inevitably feels restrictions on constructing it with people apart from Shinhwa, and he expressed his opinions, saying “even though there are pros to continually pushing forward with 1 format, trying out various things like what we do now is properly creating ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’, and I think it will be a great help.”

In that case, what does Yoon PD think of the recent reactions regarding how the fun has been halved as Shinhwa’s own position has been reduced through the recent guest appearances of Girls Generation and Sistar?

Yoon PD knows of the recent “guest controversy” that has blown up recently. But “Inevitably, as idols, Shinhwa’s fans obviously hope to see more of Shinhwa. However, it is possible that how the general audience thinks is different. Right from the start, ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ was not a program just for Shinhwa, and as a variety, when you look at having a need for more people (than just fans) watching it, I think what we have to do is to lead the program harmoniously while maintaining neutral”, showing a composed attitude.

Lastly, regarding ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’, which is to revamped, Yoon PD said, “currently it’s in the planning stages. Shinhwa too will give various ideas, either through text message or phone calls asking ‘how about this’” and “if its a good idea, regardless of whose it is, we’ll take it into consideration.”
