ENA’s new drama ‘Crash’… Lee Min-ki, Kwak Sun-young, Heo Seong-tae, etc. confirmed to appear

Crash_KD-002.jpeg

Lee Min-ki takes on the role of Cha Yeon-ho, the new director of TCI. Cha Yeon-ho, who has the unique background of being a KAIST graduate, is a person who boasts tremendous qualifications and holds numerous certificates related to traffic crime investigation. As a mathematician, he even has the ability to simulate the time of an accident with sharp analytical and reasoning skills based on cause-and-effect relationships. The surprising fact that he has poor social skills and is unable to drive raises curiosity as it is closely related to the story of how he ended up walking on an unpaved road after walking on the elite Dantan Road.

The role of TCI class president Min So-hee is played by Kwak Sun-young. With her unique persistence and perseverance, Min So-hee is an ace who can solve the cases she takes on even if it takes the world to solve them. She is also an expert in traffic crime investigation, with natural agility, martial arts skills learned in combat, and driving skills that allow her to drive a car as freely as if she were handling a toy. Although she is a coveted talent on every team, there is a reason why she only sticks to the traffic investigation field.

Heo Seong-tae plays TCI team leader Jeong Chae-man. Jeong Chae-man, a veteran homicide detective, was the person who realized the loopholes and lack of a system in the ever-increasing traffic crime investigation and created TCI, which is as hard as a diamond.

Lee Ho-cheol played the role of automobile specialist Woo Dong-gi. Woo Dong-ki, who worked as a car cafe master and became a police officer after being noticed by Chae-man, is a talented person who can analyze what type of car it is and where it was tuned just by looking at the silhouette of a car on CCTV and hearing the sound of its engine.

Moon Hee takes on the role of Eo Hyeon-kyung, the youngest member of TCI. She, Hyeon-kyung, has tremendous martial arts skills, honed in various martial arts such as Taekwondo, Judo, and boxing. The production team said, “'Crash' is a drama that focuses on traffic crimes that are becoming more sophisticated and sophisticated day by day, such as insurance fraud, cannon cars, hit-and-runs, bikers, revenge driving, self-harm blackmail, and gangster wrecks. Above all, traffic crimes that occur on roads where ordinary people spend a lot of time have sad and heartbreaking stories of damage. “As a result, various episodes and events unfold that viewers can become immersed in,” he explained.

He continued, “Actors Lee Min-ki, Kwak Sun-young, Heo Seong-tae, Lee Ho-cheol, and Moon Hee, who are united as the TCI police exclusively in charge of these traffic crimes, plan to work with director Park Jun-woo to unblock viewers in the frustrating reality with an exhilarating investigative crime drama. “Please look forward to it.”

Lee Min-ki polices traffic violations in ENA comedy Crash

by tccolb

Given all the trucks wreaking doom over the streets of dramaland, ENA has put together a special task force in Crash, with Lee Min-ki (Behind Your Touch) joining Kwak Sun-young (Moving) and Heo Sung-tae (Bait) in the comedy’s Traffic Crime Investigations (TCI) unit.

As Cha Yeon-ho, Lee Min-ki plays our story’s ~genius~ who graduated from the famed KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology) and bagged certifications from numerous fields that will prove to be asset in his new job with the TCI. But despite Yeon-ho’s lofty credentials, our hero is not without his quirks, lacking in social skills and – ironically – not being able to drive.

The TCI’s ace is Min So-hee, played by a confident and tenacious Kwak Sun-young, who is determined to solve every case she’s assigned. Being quick on her feet, experienced in combat, and a master behind the wheel, So-hee is sought after by many departments. But she stubbornly remains in traffic law for reasons we’re not yet allowed to know.

Leading the TCI is Heo Sung-tae in the role of Jung Chae-man, an eloquent bookworm and veteran detective hailing from the violent crimes unit. Upon discovering the surge in traffic crimes and the lack of a proper investigations system, Chae-man carefully pioneered the TCI like choosing gemstones and built it into a diamond-solid team.

Lee Ho-chul’s (Like Flowers in Sand) skittish Woo Dong-ki is not much help when confronting a felon as he’s basically scared of his own shadow. But he impresses Chae-man with his expertise in motor vehicles, down to obscure details like engine sounds and silhouettes. Dong-ki is thus appointed as special police and the car specialist on the TCI.

Rounding out the team, Moon-hee (Duty After School) takes on the character of Eo Hyun-kyung, who was transferred in by So-hee. Although the TCI’s maknae, Hyun-kyung can hold her own better than the others, having taekwondo, judo, and boxing under her belt – in addition to other martial arts.

Directed by PD Park Joon-woo (Doctor Detective, Taxi Driver 1) with scripts by Oh Soo-jin, ENA’s Crash is slated to premiere in May.

Lee Min-ki tries to do anything but Crash in new teaser

by Jenzy

C2.jpg

Do you love cop dramas? Do you love cars? Do you wish your aforementioned cop dramas had more cars? If so, do I have the show for you. ENA’s new drama Crash starring Lee Min-ki (Behind Your Touch) and Kwak Sun-young (Moving) dropped its first teaser, and it’s wasting no time highlighting its moneymaker: the high speed chase sequences.

Crash follows the lives of officers in the Traffic Crime Investigations (TCI) unit. While the average person (me) might hear that and go “oh, so they write parking tickets all day,” the reality of their job is much more high stakes. From insurance fraudsters, to retaliatory drivers, to the hot mess that is self-driving cars, TCI officers investigate vehicular crime to keep the streets safe.

Cars are so embedded into their DNA, in fact, that it’s ironic when they welcome their newest member Cha Yeon-ho (Lee Min-ki), because while he’s a genius KAIST graduate who checks all the boxes… he can’t drive.

But thankfully TCI has other officers to keep things afloat, like their ace detective Min So-hee (Kwak Sun-young), a master case-solver who’s sought after by other departments, but refuses to leave their unit. Or their fearless leader Heo Sung-tae (Bait), who hand-picked all the members of the TCI team. Or their remaining fellow officers like the anxious car expert Lee Ho-chul (Like Flowers in Sand) and skilled fighter Moon-hee (Duty After School). With all these talents, what’s a little non-driving, right?

The teaser gives us a quick behind the scenes look at production before showing us several car stunt scenes to sell the Fast and Furious vibe, and I have to admit, while I’m not really a cop drama fan, Kwak Sun-young leaping over cars and popping high speed u-eys is so innately cool I have no words (check out the last screenshot for a perfect re-creation of my reaction).

Written by Oh Soo-jin and directed by Park Joon-woo (Doctor Detective, Taxi Driver), ENA’s Crash will premiere on May 13.

20240329023916_crash.jpeg?s=900x600&e=tLee Min Ki, Kwak Sun Young, And More Preview Chemistry At Script Reading For Upcoming Drama

Mar 29, 2024
by E Ezeji

Upcoming drama “Crash” has shared new posters and photos from its script reading!

“Crash” is a comedy crime investigation drama about rational individualist Cha Yeon Ho (Lee Min Ki) and Min So Hee (Kwak Sun Young), an ace of a traffic investigation sector who has keen judgment and a warm heart, as they track crimes that occur on the road.

Director Park Jun Woo was present at the script reading along with cast members Lee Min Ki, Kwak Sun Young, Lee Ho Chul, Choi Moon Hee, Baek Hyun Jin, and Yoo Seung Mok.

Lee Min Ki plays Cha Yeon Ho, the new head of the Traffic Crime Investigation (TCI) team, who graduated from KAIST. Lee Min Ki showed up to the script reading in a neat suit and glasses, perfectly embodying his nerdy character Cha Yeon Ho. He impressed with his portrayal of Cha Yeon Ho by applying a difficult mathematical theory to a traffic accident and pointing out the chief’s grammar mistakes, all with a serious facial expression that showed off his unique acting style.

Kwak Sun Young exuded a bright and energetic aura as her character Min So Hee, the chief of the TCI team. Min So Hee possesses incredible martial arts and driving skills. She tackles the cases she is assigned to with her unique persistence and determination, relentlessly pushing through until she resolves them. Briefly commenting on how she prepared for the character of Min So Hee, who has good combat skills, Kwak Sun Young revealed, “I practiced at an action school, and it was more fun than I imagined.”

Lee Ho Chul, who plays Woo Dong Woo, a CCTV analyst and automobile specialist, stole the show with his skillful portrayal of a car geek who can identify the model of a car just by looking at the side mirror, while Choi Moon Hee impressed with her portrayal of Eo Hyun Kyung, the youngest member of the TCI team, who has amazing martial arts skills.

Baek Hyun Jin plays the chief of the Namgang Police Station, who is full of ambition and obsessed with getting promoted.

Yoo Seung Mok plays the role of Min So Hee’s father and taxi driver Min Yong Geon. The reason why Min So Hee, an ace desired by all teams, insists on working on the TCI team is because of her father, who raised her alone while working as a taxi driver. Therefore, the father-daughter chemistry between Yoo Seung Mok and Kwak Sun Young is something viewers should look forward to.crash-1.jpeg

Commenting on the script reading, the production team of “Crash” revealed, “The synergy of the actors was flawless,” adding, “’Crash’ is a story about traffic crime, which has never been properly shed light on until now. The story will revolve around the Traffic Crime Investigation Team, portrayed by Lee Min Ki, Kwak Sun Young, Heo Sung Tae (who was unable to attend the script reading due to health reasons), Lee Ho Chul, and Choi Moon Hee.”

The accompanying posters depict the TCI team and the police at the scene of a car accident. In the first poster, police cars are seen approaching the scene of a car accident, while in the second poster, the TCI team and the police are captured around a car crash, seemingly investigating the cause of the accident.

The upcoming ENA drama Crash has unveiled the first stills of Lee Min Ki, the new head of the Traffic Crime Investigation Team.

Crash is an investigative drama about the Traffic Crime Investigation Team (TCI) tracking unusual traffic crime cases and uncovering the truth behind them.

Cha Yeon Ho is a talented individual who graduated from science high school early and entered the mathematics department at KAIST at the top of his class. Moreover, he boasts impressive qualifications, holding various certifications related to traffic crimes.

However, for some reason, before studying abroad at MIT, he unexpectedly became an insurance investigator and eventually joined the Traffic Crime Investigation Team as the new head.

The stills give a glimpse of Cha Yeon Ho as an unconventional detective. With his neatly styled hair, buttoned-up shirt and tie, and round glasses, he epitomizes the image of a nerd. Furthermore, his eccentricity of riding a bicycle while investigating traffic crimes, coupled with his lack of social skills and tact, further amplifies this aspect.

The production team commented, "Cha Yeon Ho is a character with many stories and charms, who cannot simply be defined as the new head of the Traffic Crime Investigation Team. Through Lee Min Ki's in-depth research, who did not miss any detail, a character with even greater depth has been brought to life."

Crash will premiere on May 13. More news about the K-drama's global OTT streaming service is yet to come.

Upcoming drama “Crash” has released a new teaser and posters!

“Crash” is a comedy crime investigation drama about a team that tracks crimes that occur on the road. Lee Min Ki will play rational individualist Cha Yeon Ho, the new head of the Traffic Crime Investigation (TCI) team, who graduated from KAIST. Kwak Sun Young will star as Min So Hee, the ace of the TCI team, who possesses incredible martial arts and driving skills along with keen judgment and a warm heart.

Lee Ho Chul will play Woo Dong Ki, a CCTV analyst and automobile specialist. Choi Moon Hee will take on the role of Eo Hyun Kyung, the youngest member of the TCI team, who has amazing martial arts skills. Heo Sung Tae will play veteran detective Jung Chae Man, the team leader of TCI.

The first poster captures Cha Yeon Ho, Min So Hee, and Jung Chae Man on their way to investigate a traffic crime. Talented driver Min So Hee is captured behind the wheel with a confident expression on her face, while Cha Yeon Ho looks nervous and Jung Chae Man is seen desperately trying to grab the steering wheel.

The next poster captures all five members of the TCI team with confident facial expressions as Cha Yeon Ho holds up an arrest warrant. The five team members all exude a powerful aura that suggests each of them is able to effortlessly take down criminals.

At the beginning of the accompanying teaser, the TCI team members walk into a room full of criminals. Min So Hee introduces the team as TCI, only for one of the criminals to ask the unfamiliar TCI team, “Are you from the broadcasting station?”

When Woo Dong Ki says, “Just like the FBI, CIA, and BTS, we should use English abbreviations to look cool,” Jung Chae Man shocks everyone by asking him, “Which country’s police force is BTS?”

In one scene, Lee Min Ki, who doesn’t know how to fight, gets beaten up by a criminal, while in another scene, he struggles to jump over a fence. On the other hand, TCI team members Min So Hee and Eo Hyun Kyung, who have strong martial arts skills, can’t seem to hold themselves back when dealing with criminals. Meanwhile, police chief Koo Kyung Mo (Baek Hyun Jin) is seen expressing his frustration at the TCI team.

ENA's Crash unveiled new posters and a second teaser.

Crash is an investigative drama about the Traffic Crime Investigation Team (TCI) solving traffic crime cases.

The posters and the teaser give a glimpse of the TCI team members — Lee Min KiKwak Sun YoungHeo Sung TaeLee Ho Chul, and Choi Moon Hee — in action.

Meanwhile, the teaser kicks off with a funny situation where the less-popular TCI team faces questions like "Are you from the broadcasting station?" from criminals. Moreover, their appearance makes it difficult to guess what kind of police investigation they are conducting. When Woo Dong Gi (Lee Ho Chul) says, "Like FBI, CIA, BTS, it [TCI] only sounds good if it is abbreviated in English," Jung Chae Man (Heo Sung Tae) seriously asks, "Which country's police is BTS?"

Cha Yeon Ho (Lee Min Ki), a former insurance investigator who can't fight, is intriguing in his own way. He hesitates on the scene, gets kicked and can't seem to contain his clumsiness.

Then there are Min So Hee (Kwak Sun Young) and Eo Hyeon Kyung (Choi Moon Hee), who can take down criminals on the spot and cannot restrain themselves in the face of crime.

But despite appearing chaotic, when it comes to cracking down on traffic crimes, the TCI team is sincere. When they unite, bringing their unique skills to the table, there is no crime they cannot solve and no criminal they cannot arrest.

Crash will premiere on May 13. More news about the K-drama's global OTT streaming service is yet to come. Watch the teaser here

Lee Min-ki and Kwak Sun-young get behind the wheel in Crash

by lovepark

Truck of Doom beware, because these dramaland cops may actually hunt you down! ENA’s upcoming comedy Crash is about a ragtag team of officers over at the Traffic Crime Investigations (TCI) unit, and as their name implies, they investigate vehicular crimes. If the acronym sounds unfamiliar, don’t worry, since the newest teaser for the show pokes fun at its own relative obscurity.

Starring Kwak Sun-young (Moving) as team ace Min So-hee — alongside Heo Sung-tae (Bait) as her captain Jung Chae-man and Lee Ho-chul (Like Flowers in Sand) and Moon-hee (Duty After School) as her teammates — the TCI fight an uphill battle as they raid an office only to be met with confusion. The criminals think they’re a broadcasting station since their title isn’t as recognizable as the FBI, CIA, or even BTS — the latter of which poor Chae-man misunderstands as another police department. Then, to make things worse, a new addition joins their crew in the form of nerdy Lee Min-ki (Behind Your Touch) as genius Kaist graduate Cha Yeon-ho.

Making quite the first impression, Yeon-ho introduces himself on a rainy night with a flashlight shining under his face, and So-hee screams at the serial killer who enters her car. Alas, this is her new partner, and his explanation for his unorthodox entrance was to not scare her. Oh boy…

Yeon-ho isn’t the only hole on the team, though, as Chae-man gets beat up during an arrest and sheepishly stares at the ground while the new recruit holds an ice pack to his eye. The whole group seems like trouble as they dance outside a press conference and their superior officer calls them dumbheads. Despite all this, Yeon-ho wants to do a good job — even if he can’t jump walls or pull off stunts like his cool partner — and he’ll get behind the wheel if it means solving the case.

Directed by PD Park Joon-woo (Doctor Detective, Taxi Driver) with scripts penned by Oh Soo-jin, ENA’s Crash is slated for twelve episodes and premieres May 13 in the Monday-Tuesday slot.

20240415041915_lee-min-ki-1-1.jpeg?s=900Lee Min Ki Dishes On Reason For Choosing Upcoming Drama "Crash," His Unique Detective Character, And More

Apr 15, 2024
by S Nam

Lee Min Ki has dished on his upcoming ENA drama “Crash”!

“Crash” is a comedy crime investigation drama about a team that tracks crimes that occur on the road. Lee Min Ki will play rational individualist Cha Yeon Ho, the new head of the Traffic Crime Investigation (TCI) team, who graduated from KAIST. Kwak Sun Young will co-star as Min So Hee, the ace of the TCI team, who possesses incredible martial arts and driving skills along with keen judgment and a warm heart.

On why he decided to star in “Crash,” Lee Min Ki shared, “It felt novel as a drama that deals with traffic crime for the first time. Regarding his character Cha Yeon Ho, Lee Min Ki shared, “Cha Yeon Ho barely has any macho or heroic tendencies that detective characters normally showcase. He does not punish the villains in a cool and tough way,” marking a stark contrast from his previous character as a detective in his recent drama “Behind Your Touch.”

In addition to graduating early from a science high school, Cha Yeon Ho entered KAIST’s mathematics department with top scores. However, before going to study at MIT, he suddenly becomes a detective for the TCI team after working as an insurance investigator.

Regarding Cha Yeon Ho’s strengths, Lee Min Ki shared, “As a slightly smart member of the TCI team, he will resolve cases together [with the team]. With his background experience of graduating from KAIST and working as an insurance investigator, he contributes to the investigation from his position.” He continued, “Cha Yeon Ho doesn’t lead, but he certainly has his place [on the team]. The greatest charm is when the entire team works together and gathers strength to create synergy.”

Furthermore, Lee Min Ki’s portrayal of Cha Yeon Ho as a unique detective is highlighted by his sharp appearance with his clean-cut style and glasses.

The actor also mentioned that the action on the roads will be another interesting point to look forward to, asking viewers to anticipate Cha Yeon Ho’s action scenes, which could come across as somewhat lacking due to the nature of his character but still charming.

Lee Min Ki highlighted the TCI team as the greatest strength of “Crash.” He remarked, “Each character fits like a piece of a puzzle. That combination is amazing. That’s why when the entire team gathered for filming, I think I smiled a lot more. The atmosphere on set was really great.”

Finally, Lee Min Ki sent his support and gratitude to everyone who works hard to punish traffic crime after portraying stories based on real incidents.

Actor Lee Min Ki comments on his character in Crash

Crash is an investigative drama about the Traffic Crime Investigation Team (TCI) solving traffic crime cases.

In the K-drama, Lee Min Ki portrays Cha Yeon Ho, the new head of the Traffic Crime Investigation (TCI), equipped with sharp analytical skills.

The actor said that he found the K-drama's script interesting and went on to elaborate on the charm of his character.

He particularly noted that Cha Yeon Ho is not a typical protagonist, saying, "Cha Yeon Ho has almost none of those macho or hero-like characteristics often displayed by detective characters. He doesn't go punishing villains in a cool and tough manner." His decision to take on a character who has the same profession as the characters from his previous works was also influenced by this factor.

He also pointed out Cha Yeon Ho's strengths, saying, "As a slightly smarter team member of TCI team, he contributes to solving cases together [with other team members]. As a KAIST graduate and someone who has experience working as an insurance investigator, he contributes to investigations in whatever way he can." Pointing this out, he emphasized, "Cha Yeon Ho doesn't take the lead, but he definitely has his place."

Furthermore, Lee Min Ki added that the theme of the K-drama — traffic crimes — brings about interesting action scenes not commonly seen in other dramas.

The actor also explained that the charm of Crash lies in the TCI team's synergy and unity. "Each character fits [perfectly] like a puzzle piece," said Lee Min Ki, not forgetting to boast about the cast's teamwork by adding, "That's why I think we had [more] fun, especially on days when the entire team gathered together for filming. The atmosphere on set was really good."

The significance of bringing attention to traffic crimes, which often result in more casualties than homicide cases but receive less attention, was also pointed out. Lee Min Ki shared his honest feelings, stating, "It was shocking because several episodes were inspired by real-life events." He also conveyed hope for a world where criminals would be punished for their crimes without loopholes, expressing gratitude and encouragement to those striving towards that goal.

Crash will premiere on May 13. More news about the K-drama's global OTT streaming service is yet to come.
