In the drama, Lee Jong Suk plays a shooting gold medallist and practiced intensely for the scene in which he appears in a competition.

However, in many of the targets, Lee Jong Suk appears to have mostly shot wide of the black bulls-eye, completely different from his Olympic medallist character.

Lee Jong Suk also posted on his personal Instagram with the self-diss, “I can’t win a gold medal like this.”

“W” Broadcast May Be Affected By Rio Olympic Games

MBC announced through the official homepage of “W” that the episode 7 and 8 broadcast next week may be affected by its broadcast of the Rio Olympics Games.

Both episodes, slated to air August 10 and 11, respectively, may air normally at “10 p.m. or be canceled.”

Following the announcement, the audience notice board on the site has been flooded with posts expressing their opposition of the possible cancellation, citing the effect a cancellation will have on ratings as well as the flow of the story.

I'm ok if they postpone it for just a week, however 2 weeks is too much! I can endure the wait (2 weeks is nothing compared to 2 yrs when he enlist later). But my main concern here are the ratings, since it affects his career directly. This is really frustrating... :(

Lee Jong Suk has shown a different side of himself in the latest photo stills from the MBC hit drama "W."

Avid fans of the South Korean star may recall Lee playing serious or charismatic roles in various drama projects over the years. However, a latest set of behind-the-scenes pictures has revealed the actor's silly and boyish side. Lee's agency, YG Entertainment, has unveiled new photos from the MBC drama "W," allkpop reported.

The photo stills that were released on Tuesday, Aug. 3, captured Lee's playful antics between filming the scenes for the drama. One of the photos featured the actor standing on the street in a ninja-like pose. Lee had his arms raised towards the right side while he stood on one leg with his right knee raised up almost to the waist level.

In another photo, the "Pinocchio" star was photographed holding a long bubble wand with bubbles floating around him. It appears that the actor has been keeping himself entertainment by playing with bubbles while waiting for filming to resume. He also had a smile on his face as he held onto the small bubble maker.

Other images from the drama's filming set showed the actor checking his hairstyle in a mirror, while another featured Lee smiling brightly at the camera. He also posed for a cute photo in what appears to be a bookstore. The Korean star even had both hands near his face with his fingers in a "V" formation.

This was not the first time that Lee has shown his boyish charms while filming the MBC drama. Previous photo stills released for "W" depicted the actor and his co-star Han Hyo Joo's filming activities. A behind-the-scenes clip that included the two cast members' first kissing scene in the drama was even unveiled in late July, Soompi reported.

In the clip, Lee can be seen doing an embarrassed dance when the filmed kissing scene revealed that he leaned towards Han during the shot. Lee's Kang was supposed to stay still during the said scene while Han's character suddenly kissed him in an effort to shock Kang. Han then teased Lee over his actions and commented on the actor's flushed face.

"W" airs every Wednesday and Thursday on South Korean's MBC channel.

W Korean Drama: New Ratings Report In, But Is The Han Hyo Joo – Lee Jong Suk Starrer Still Leading?

W Korean drama has been leading in the ratings battle. Now that Nielsen Korea has released a new report, is the Han Hyo Joo – Lee Jong Suk starrer still above other k-dramas in terms of viewership?

The unique, webtoon-based love story stars Han Hyo Joo as a problematic female surgeon in her 30s named Oh Yeon-Joo. She teleports between reality and an cartoon dimension called “W,” which was created by her cartoonist father.

While inside the fantasy realm, the troubled doctor meets and falls in love with an Olympic gold medalist and media mogul named Kang Chul, played by Lee Jong-Suk.

According to the research firm’s latest verified data, the MBC series’ fifth episode was able to gather 13.5 percent audience share. This represents a .6 percent rise from its 12.9 percent ratings announced last week.

Also airing on the Wednesday – Thursday primetime slot, KBS Network’sUncontrollably Fond placed second with 8.2 percent ratings. The Suzy Bae – Kim Woo Bin romantic drama is followed by SBS Channel’s Wanted with 5.2 percent.

Aside from getting majority of the audience share, W Korean drama also scored high in terms of Content Power Index (CPI) data. It gathered 273.3 CPI points on its first week, followed by Doctors with 266.4 CPI points. Its direct rivalUncontrollably Fond was able to get 242.4 CPI points.

To celebrate W Korean drama’s ratings surge and good reviews, its male lead star will reportedly have a fan event to thank their loyal viewers. YG Entertainment announced last week that the “2016 Lee Jong Suk Fan Meeting Variety” will kick off at the Olympic Hall, Olympic Park, Seoul, South Korea on Sept. 10. Insiders are also planning to send the Hallyu heartthrob on an international tour following the Seoul fan gathering.

Even before the show began rating high, Lee Jong Suk shared that he is happy to be part of W. The 26-year-old said that the fantasy drama is one of his most challenging projects to date, but it helps to have someone as professional asHan Hyo Joo as his leading lady.

Lee Jong Suk and Lee Tae Hwan has shown their fighting skills in the latest behind-the-scenes photos from the South Korean drama "W."

MBC has given avid Korean drama fans a treat when the network released its latest batch of photo stills from its Wednesday-Thursday drama "W." In the pictures, cast members Jong Suk and Tae Hwan were photographed facing each other in a mixed martial arts ring, Soompi reported.

The two South Korean celebrities looked serious in the photos, as they crouched to their fighting stances inside the ring. Both Jong Suk and Tae Hwan each wore fighting gloves and were barefoot for the scene. Jong Suk wore a sleeveless black shirt and black pants while his co-star wore gray shorts and a tight gray shirt.

Despite the physically strenuous scenes, the two stars appear to be enjoying their fight practice given the smiles on their faces. One of the pictures featured both actors hugging each other after a fight scene. Another photo also showed Jong Suk with a big smile on his face as he held onto the side of the fighting ring.

The said images are said to be shots from the flashback scenes to be featured in the MBC drama. It appears that the backstory behind Jong Suk's Kang Chul and Tae Hwan's character Seo Do Yoon will be revealed in the upcoming episodes. The "Pinocchio" star's character became friends with Do Yoon after Kang Chul asked the martial arts fighter to teach him how to fight, as stated in the same report.

Meanwhile, the "W" male lead actor will soon meet his avid fans in a series of fan meetings. Jong Suk's agency, YG Entertainment, made the announcement on Monday, Aug. 1, Yonhap News reported. The South Korean celebrity's upcoming fan meeting has been titled "Variety" and will kick-off on Sept. 10 in eastern Seoul's Olympic Park.

Jong Suk is set to show different sides of himself in the upcoming "Variety" fan meetings. Loyal fans from other Asian countries such as Japan and China will also get the chance to see the actor. Apart from the Seoul fan meeting, the actor will hold similar events in other countries across Asia in the coming months.
