Film industry stars, from actress Son Ye-jin to 'Spring in Seoul' director Kim Seong-su, are gathering at the 'Buchon International Fantastic Film Festival'. 

On the 28th, the 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (hereinafter referred to as BIFAN, Executive Chairman Shin Cheol) held an opening ceremony at the Bucheon Arts Center on July 4th and unveiled the red carpet and guests who will heat up the festival atmosphere. Along with the screening of the opening film 'Love Lies Bleeding', actors Jeong Su-jeong and Jang Dong-yoon will serve as emcees for the opening ceremony, and leading figures from the domestic and foreign film industry will attend.

 

This year, BIFAN's opening ceremony will be attended by Son Ye-jin, who was selected as the 'Actor Special Exhibition' protagonist with the modifier 'unrivaled' for her shining steps. The opening ceremony will be hosted by Jung Soo-jung and Jang Dong-yoon, and the festival will begin with Jung Soo-jung and Jang Dong-yoon. Jung Soo-jung and Jang Dong-yoon, who worked together in the 2020 drama 'Search', are expected to reunite once again as hosts rather than actors, and show off their fresh chemistry. 

Asian masters whose names alone make movie fans' blood boil and hearts race will also be visiting BIFAN. Director Du Qifeng, a master of the genre and the very embodiment of Hong Kong noir, J-horror master director Hideo Nakata, who will be visiting Bucheon with his new work to be released as a world premiere, and director Kim Sung-soo, who has been at the forefront of Korean cinema for 30 years, will be attending the opening ceremony. On July 5th, Director Doo Ki-bong will share stories about his world of works that pioneered the 'Hong Kong Noir' genre and achieved aesthetic perfection, along with the screening of the restored version of 'Dragon Tiger' (2004) through a master class. Director Hideo Nakata will have time to communicate with the audience through GV on July 5th. Director Kim Sung-soo can be seen on July 9th through 'Night of Living Nerds' after the screening of the 4K remastered version of 'Musa'. 

Famous Japanese actor Yuya Yagira will walk the opening ceremony red carpet for the film 'The Marriage of Arata Natsume'. Yagira, who won the youngest Cannes Film Festival Best Actor Award at the age of 14 for his debut film 'Nobody Knows' (2004), has been actively acting in a wide range of films and dramas, including the dramas 'Gannibal' (2023), 'Gintama' (2017), and 'Fable' (2018). Yuya Yagira will deliver a captivating performance in “Natsume Arata’s Marriage” as the protagonist who uncovers the hidden secrets of his wife’s murder and identity and approaches the truth. He will appear on the opening ceremony red carpet with director Yukihiko Tsutsumi.



Many of Korea's leading filmmakers are expected to attend this opening ceremony. Actor Park Joong-hoon was appointed as the chairman of the 'Bucheon Choice: Feature' jury, and director Yeon Sang-ho won this year's 'Series Film Award' for 'Parasite: The Gray' (2024), as well as Kim Bo-seong, Kim Bo-yeon, Kim Ji-sook, Dokgo Youngjae, Ye Ji-won, Lim Ha-ryong, and Jang Seong-beom. , Jeong Yi-seo, Cho Sang-gu, Cho Seon-muk, Cho Seong-ha, Choi Gwi-hwa, Choi Jae-seong, and Han Ji-il will attend.

The 28th BIFAN will be held in Bucheon City from July 4th to 14th. The screenings can be seen at Bucheon City Hall, Korea Cartoon Museum, CGV Sopoong, Bucheon Art Bunker B39, and the online theater wavve. BIFAN's outdoor event brand 'July Carnival' (July 5 - July 7) will turn the Sohyang-ro area of Bucheon City Hall into a festival venue. The BIFAN opening ceremony, which will be held for the first time this year at Bucheon City's landmark Bucheon Arts Center, can be watched live on YouTube.

A passerby added, “Hyun Bin was extremely patient. He was very attentive and responded to his wife with affection. He wasn’t like some men who only give perfunctory answers while shopping with their girlfriends. “😘

Son Ye-jin, who had been inactive due to marriage and childbirth, is resuming her activities in earnest. Her first stage will be the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, Korea's representative genre film festival.

Son Ye-jin will be the main character in the 'Actor Special Exhibition' held at the 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, which will be held for 11 days from the 4th to the 14th.

The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival held an 'Actor Special Exhibition' starting with Jeon Do-yeon in 2017, followed by Jung Woo-sung, Kim Hye-soo, Sol Kyung-gu, and last year's Choi Min-sik. This year, Son Ye-jin was selected and 'Unique.Unrivaled.' Under the title 'Son Ye-jin', we will provide time to highlight Son Ye-jin's acting life over the past 23 years.

The festival will screen six films, including representative Korean romance films 'The Classic' and 'A Moment to Remember' that elevated Son Ye-jin to the title of 'Queen of Romance', as well as 'My Wife Got Married', 'Chilling Romance', 'The Truth Beneath', and 'Princess Deokhye', which helped shape today's Son Ye-jin through challenging herself with diverse roles and genres.

Son Ye-jin's official appearance is her first in 2 years and 5 months since the production presentation of the drama 'Thirty, Nine'. Son Hye-jin and Hyun Bin, with whom she worked together in the movie 'Negotiation' and the drama 'Crash Landing on You', got married in March 2022 and gave birth to a son in November of that year.

Since then, she has focused on her family and childcare, and has been away from her work for a while. She occasionally participates in events or updates her status through SNS, but this film festival is her first time participating in an event related to her main job as an actress. According to a film industry insider on the 2nd, Yoo Yeon-seok recently confirmed his appearance in director Park Chan-wook's next film after "Decision to Leave" in 2022 and has begun preparations for filming the film. Yoo Yeon Seok and director Park Chan Wook may be teaming up for a new film!

Sports DongA reported on July 2 that according to industry insiders, Yoo Yeon Seok is confirmed to star in director Park Chan Wook’s next project following “Decision to Leave.”

In response to the reports, CJ ENM and Yoo Yeon Seok’s agency KINGKONG by STARSHIP shared, “He received an offer and is reviewing it.”

According to the reports, the project is one that director Park Chan Wook has been preparing for many years. Currently, the production team is in the stages of sorting out copyright issues as the film is based on an original project. Earlier, it was revealed that Lee Byung Hun and Son Ye Jin are in talks for the film along with Lee Sung Minand Yeom Hye Ran.
